Video properties inspector CS4

Hi,
I have FLV video files in my site, and in the properties inspector window on the pages where the videos occur (when I click on the video image), there seem to be some properties missing. When I pull down the additional properties window with the little arrow in the lower right-hand corner, the only properties added to the window are Auto Play and Auto Rewind. The rest is blank. No quality, no frame, nothing that allows me to alter the video file in ways other than Height, Width, and the 'skin'.
According to Adobe there should be several other properties displayed. Am I doing something wrong here?
Thanks!

  • Cannot Open MPEG-2 Video in Photoshop CS4 Extended

...Any recommendations?  I am trying to open an MPEG-2  HD video file in CS4 Extended and am getting error code saying:  Could not complete your request because the movie file could not be opened.  Photoshop Help says it should be able to open if computer has an MPEG-2 Encoder installed...any idea if that is true and where I could download one if so.  Thanks.

Encoder Program no real help...finally used Adobe Media Encoder and Rend
    ered Video as H264, 1440 X
    1080 29.97 minus Audio...it
opened just fine.  Exported as Quicktime movie with same settings, opened in Premiere
Project...worked fine.  Hope this helps someone else.

  • Dumb Q on Properties Inspector and missing Font tools

I just upgraded to DW CS5.  In the Properties Inspector I somehow clicked off some options and can now no longer see font alignment or options like Bold or Italics.  Now I have to access it via the FORMAT option at the top.  I know this has to be simple but I have searched the web and cannot find the answer!!  I do have HTML clicked in the Properties Inspector.
    Thanks,

What I dont get is Left Align, Right Align, Center Justify.  I used to get that until I clicked all of the windows at the bottom off and now can't get it back.
    Read my reply again:
When CSS is selected, you get CSS options, which include bold, italic,
and alignment. However, it's important to note that using these options
forces you to create a style rule. In CS5, you cannot use HTML
attributes for alignment, except by editing Code view or using the Tag
    Inspector panel.
Left Align, Right Align, Center, and Justify are now options in the Property inspector when the CSS button is selected. However, as I wrote before, these options no longer insert the HTML align attributes. To do that, you need to use Code view or the Tag Inspector (Window > Tag Inspector).
Dreamweaver CS5 uses CSS for alignment. You need to learn to use CSS if you want to use the Property inspector for text alignment. Why? Because CSS is now considered the standard way of doing it.

  • Reset Page Properties to properties inspector in Dreamweaver CS6

Need help to reset the page properties button to the properties inspector. It was there when I installed CS6 but somehow I must have changed the settings.

Are you looking at the expanded Property inspector?  There is a little white triangle in the lower, right-hand corner of the inspector that toggles the display of the bottom half of that panel.  It's this part that contains the Page Properties button....

  • Need help with font and bug with properties inspector bug

    Hey guys,
I recentely bought a account at dreamtemplate and i'm working on creating my first website, ive got the basic down but whenever i want to change the font of one character in a word( lets say the k in kind to a different font) it switched the entire word or sentence to that font. ive contacted dreamtemplate about it and this is the solution they gave me but i dont understand it:
To change the font, you need to put the TrueType font files of edwardian and Kunstler in the font file of the template folder.
You may change the font of one character in a word as below.
    For example:
    In the HTML file,
    <h2 class="title"><span class="newfont">l</span>atest </span> <span >projects</span></h2>
    In the CSS file,
    @font-face {
    font-family: 'Kunstler';
    src: url('/fonts/Kunstler/Kunstler Script.eot');
    src: url('/fonts/Kunstler/ds-digi-webfonteot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'), url('/fonts/Kunstler/Script.woff') format('woff'), url('/fonts/Kunstler/Kunstler Script.ttf') format('truetype'), url('/fonts/Kunstler/Kunstler Script.svg#ds-digi-webfont') format('svg');
    .newfont{font-family: 'Kunstler'!important;}
Feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.
if anyone can shed some light and knowledge on how to apply it that would be amazing.
Also another problem i've been experiencing is that whenever i edit something in an html file (index.html) and save it and view it none of the changes show up besides the change in words(ie. no font change, no size change) but pictures are fine.
Now my last which has bothered me a lot latly is an issue with my propertie inspector box, It works fine with an html file but whenever i try to edit a .js file it either goes blank or is greyed out, i've searched for solutions and have made sure im not in live mode, but no luck, i even reinstalled DW, still no luck. I need to edit a menu bar that is a .js and i cant do it with this issue. if anyone needs further info let me know.
    thanks in advance

Before you get any deeper with this, you really need to learn all you can about HTML code and it's relationship with CSS.  Otherwise you will be forever confused, frustrated and incapable of understanding the answers we give you.

  • Properties inspector same as Properties panel?

OK, this shouldn't be too hard for you Flash experts. I'm a
book editor and I am trying to find out if the Properties inspector
and the Properties panel are the same thing.
    Thanks for any help.

According to Jen deHaan, longtime Macromedia/Adobe
    documentation
doyenne, the correct term for this entity is "Property
    inspector" (note the
singular "Property," even though the panel's tab reads
    "Properties"). In
day-to-day use, people call this entity everything from the
    official name to
"Properties inspector" to "Properties panel" to probably
    more. Speaking
pragmatically, they're all the same thing.

  • Editing Video in PS CS4 Extended

I am unable to open video in PS CS4 Extended. I tried two different extensions, .mpg and .mov. I get an error that says the file can not be opened. Yes, I am sure I have PS Extended.
    Thanks!

    From the Premiere forum...
Go to this link and scroll down to the 1st question after the troubleshooting steps... it links to software that will read the video file and give you the codec that is used... report that information, and someone who uses PS-Extended should be able to tell you if it is compatible (or, it might even be listed in the user guide) http://premierepro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting

  • L have to have Quicktime loaded to import video to Photoshop CS4 but it doesn't work. Does anyone know why??

    Hello there
Can anyone tell me how to import video into Photoshop CS4 as l was told to download Quicktime 7.1 or later but this hasn
not worked. l have read that it is probably that l have not got the right codex but which one is it......If you have an idea or could point me in the right direction this would be really helpful...
    many thanks
    seannybro

Many Thanks for the reply, Maybe l didn't word it correctly as l've been searching for days now for a solution, sorry, but l have just found out while watching tutorials on a education program that you can actual edit each frame in a video in Photoshop by importing the video into it. In these tutorials they said you have to download Quicktime 7.1 or later in order for this to work and then you can go through every frame of your video and change it, draw on it, do mainly anything you what, basically what you can do on a photo you can do with a video. It works with one of my AVI,files but not on any of my others or on any of my MOV. files. l just get a white screen the video is there in the AVI but l can't get MOV. to import. In AVI format it shows no pictures but it is there in the time/animation dilation and l was wondering does anyone know if l need to upload a new codec for it to work or have to switch or activate something for it to work on quicktime......but l have found others with the same problem but there all say upload a new codec but which??
any help would be really appreciated
    Seannybro
(If your wondering how too try changing your workspace from ESSENTIALS to VIDEO the icon is in the right hand corner near the close down button in Photoshop and double click on the grey interface (a photo uploads) to get to upload your videos from files then you should be able to upload from there....Import in the file menu doesn't work...hope this helps you. If it works for you then l must be going wrong somewhere....enjoy:)

  • Flash components and the properties inspector

Don't know if any of you have had experience in creating
    components that
can have properties set using the properties inspector or
    not, but here
    we go.
I have several components which all have a 'data' property
    that is an
Object in which a developer can store arbitrary data.
I have set this up in the component so that it will display
    in the
    properties inspector, thusly:
    [Inspectable(name="Data")]
    private var _data:Object;
Now, it does indeed appear in the inspector, but when I click
    on the
field it brings up a box which then doesn't allow me to enter
    any data
    (see screenshot:
    http://www.moloko.f2s.com/filetransfer/componentParams.png)
However, if I right-click on the symbol in the library, go to
    Component
Definition, then click on the Data property in the Value
    column, it
brings up a box that's a little bit more what I was expecting
    in that it
contains the '+' and '-' buttons to allow me to add/delete
    data, and
also some up/down arrows to allow me to move the data around
    in the list
    (see screenshot:
    http://www.moloko.f2s.com/filetransfer/componentDefinition.png)
Anyone know what's going on with this? Is this a bug in the
    Flash IDE or
    am I doing something wrong??

The flashComponents are standard AS2 components, and you can look up their APIs in the Flash documentation.  Here is the button docs:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=00001977.html#3654189
Looking at that, there is a getStyle() method, and I just tested it out:
    put sprite(1).getStyle("borderStyle")
    -- "inset"
    put sprite(1).getStyle("fontFamily")
    -- "_sans"
    put sprite(1).getStyle("color")
    -- 734012.0000
I'm not real sure what that means (probably the hex color converted to a float), but you can change the color like this:
    sprite(1).setStyle("color","red")
And here is a page that lists all the styles that are defined:

  • Properties Inspector

My layers are not showing properly in Design View of DW8.
They were fine until I copied some code from a website (which I
    immediately deleted).
The layers panel is not showing any of my layers (they are
not hidden), and when I click on the layers in Design View the
"handle bars" do not show up. The property inspector shows only the
Div ID box, the class box and the Edit CSS box.
This must be a dreamweaver as opposed to code issue as I have
opened other site pages which are totally unrelated and they are
    affected in the same way.
Does anyone have any solutions or know what I am talking
    about.
I can send a screen shot which will show what is happening?
    Thanks

You link to the CSS from a web page, there will be no option

  • Fcpx: the video properties of this clip are not recognized.

The original footage is 300fps hi-speed video, shot with Casio Exilim EX-F1. Resolution 512x384, framerate 29.97
When I imported the footage into FCPX, I marked "Transcoding: Create optimized media". So I did.
Now I start a new project, drag the clip into the timeline and I get the message "The video properties of this clip are not recognized." andI can choose to import the clip as 640x480. But I don't want that, and why have I just transcoded into pro-res if FCPX itself cannot recognize the clip afterwards? What am I missing here?
For the record: I also bought Compressor4 and Motion5 so if they are needed for my solution, no problem. I tried importing the clip first into Compressor4 but couln't find a way to export into a FCPX-project.
Short note about myself: long time Premiere user, recently switched to Apple + FCPX.

I can't show you screenshots because I don't have access to FCP at the moment. Take the first clip you want to be in the project. Open it into the timeline using the Open in Timeline function. You can now blade this clip however you like. Cut the beginning, cut the end. Slice it however you want it. The audio will be separate from the video. You can collape it into a compound clip if you want. This only happens with the first clip. Leave the timeline open. In the event event browser, find the second shot you want. Mark In and Out points. Press the E key to append it to timeline. You want to insert a a different shot in the beginning. Move the playhead in the timeline back to the beginning. Find the shot you want in the browser. Mark in and out points. Press the W key to insert the shot. You want to add transitions. Select the clips in the timeline and press Cmd-T. You want to add a timeline. Put the playhead in the timeline wherever you want. Double click the title to put it into the timeline. Add more shots into the timeline. Do you see what's happening? You are editing your program into that first clip's timeline. The dimensions of that first clip remain intact in that timeline. When you export you're exporting that clip's timeline. As I said, it's not ideal, but it's a workaround. Basically FCP only works with standard video formats.

  • Change the default video properties in inspector

    Hi !
I would like to be able to change the default setting in the inspector for video clip when first added to a timeline.
i.e. the Spatial Conform is by deffault set to FIT and I would like to be NONE as I work with 2K files on a 1080p timeline.
also I wonder if CROP setting is disable perhaps rendering is a little bit faster ? (on clip with several effects and animations) ??
so I'll prefer to disable it when I don't have the use for it (as default setting for all futures video clip)
    Thanks in advance.

humm I think you "mis"understand a bit what I ask.
I would like to be able to change this default setting in FCPX forever...
so every time I add a new clip in my timeline, it will be with these setting...
so... I think it is not possible.as Tom Wolsky said, I have to ask a feature request to the Apple FCP X developpers...

  • Tween properties in CS4

    Hello All,
I am rusty.  Not using flash for a while. Just installed CS4.
I was using CS3 and Flash 8 (macromedia).
I am working on a file that was created in maybe flash cs3 or perhaps flash 8, from another developer.
It shows tweens on the time line.  The developer created fade tweens, with names like
"Transform 1" etc.  The fades are on symbols (the developer converted  jpegs to a symbols)
from 100 percent to 0 percent alpha.  I can see the fade go from 100 to 0, but I am
unable to see the "alpha" properties when I select the symbol or the tween in the timeline.
The tween is displayed in the timeline as a line with an arrowhead at the keyframe when the
visibility goes to zero.  I do not seem to be able to see the properties for the tween, i.e. 100 in keyframe 1, to 0 in keyframe 20.
No information shows in the CS4 "Motion Editor".
I created a tween in a layer that I added, and it seems that CS4 no longer show the lines with arrowheads, but
uses a different color for the tween range.  And I get the motion properties in the "Motion Editor"
I am sure it is pilot error here.  Since I just installed CS4, etc.  How can I view tween properties, like
alpha on a symbol created in an earlier version of Flash?
    Thanks for any help,
    ewholz1-mac

    Hi there,
There is a new motion feature in CS4, which is why you can see properties in the motion editor for these new tweens but not the old ones. In CS4, you are able to animate the properties of a single object, whereas in earlier versions of Flash you tween between two instances instead of animating properties of a single object (and as such, the Motion Editor cannot be used for the older style of tweens). So for the classic tweens, you are limited to the way Flash has always worked for those tweens (looking in the PI), and new tweens afford you the usage of the Motion Editor for examining tweened properties.
For more info on the differences between the two motion models, and migrating between the two, see http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/motion_migration_guide.html.
    Jen.
