Video questions - Play back stops for no reason...

I created a FLV file via the Flash Video Encoder that comes
with Flash. I then uploaded it to my server and when I play it in
my file, it stops at a specific point. I am not sure why it is
doing that. How can this happen, and how can I get rid of that?

I'm having the exact same problem - Music will usually play fine, but sometimes it will just stop mid-song for no reason. When you hit "menu" it is still on the selected playlist and the Apple TV behaves normally.
If I re-start the playlist the problem doesn't usually happen again.
No other problems with wireless connection (streaming video and YouTube never stall or quit playing) and my computer is currently set to never go into sleep mode.
I have noticed that sometimes music play will cut out for a second and then resume playing for a bit, but then it usually stops completely a short time later.
Seems like it might be having trouble buffering music, but that doesn't make a lot of sense as it will stream HD video with no problems.

    I have a problem with tv shows stopping for no reason on the iPod Touch. First the sound disappears, and then the show stops and I get booted back to the main menu. This has happened with four completely different tv shows. I never had this problem with the 5th gen. What is going on?

    No this is different. I am not pushing the home button. I will be in the middle of watching a video, and first the audio will stop while the video continues for a few more seconds, and then I will suddenly be bounced back to the main menu. No buttons pushed. Like it's crashing or something.

  • My entire iCloud mail system is messed up. I have worked on this for days. It works sometimes after I restart my computer and then just stops for no reason. In addition when the mail stops it refuses to let me reboot my iMac. Any ideas?

    I'm praying somebody here has an idea to help me. iCloud has suddenly gone nuts on my iMac. It works only when it wants to work and then stops for no reason. When it stops I am no longer able to click the mail icon and open any mail even the old stuff that was there. No changes were made to my computer. This all started out of the blue. When the mail stops working it will not close out to allow me to restart my computer. It won't even allow a forced quit. No changes were made to my machine. My iPhone still get mail but only after I click the mail icon. It does not pull mail in and show how many new emails I have like it did before. I have a me.com email if that helps. Any ideas would be truly appreciated.

  • Videos not playing back after importing

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying hard to migrate my photo collection from iPhoto (and eventually Aperture, which I still use for professional work) to the new Photos app.
    What I have noticed, though, is that, besides all photos from iPhone being imported rotated 180°, which is (annoyingly) fixable by hand, Photos will just delete videos from its catalogue. Needless to say, they open fine in iPhoto.
    Basically:
    On first launch (or consequent start-ups of the app when deleting the Photos library), Photos asks to import a library.
    It goes through the import process.
    All files are imported correctly (besides the 180° issue), including videos, which play back normally.
    Under Preferences, I set the library as System library (in case I deleted the previous Photos library), and turn on the iCloud Photo Library feature.
    Somewhere along the process, when I try to access some videos, it says "Photos can't reproduce the file" (translation from my OS X language). In some other videos, a small progress wheel appears on the bottom right, and gets stuck at about one quarter.
    I have also tried to import everything by opening manually the "Masters" folder in the old iPhoto library, but then, Photos will give an error regarding duplicate files.
    Honestly, all these problems are so un-Apple-like. I'm very frustrated; I've tried to give Photos a chance, but I can't even START using it.
    Any suggestions?

    I have this same problem, and I did a clean installation.
    Hardware:
    2009 MacBoook Pro 17" 3.06 C2D; 4 GB RAM, 256 Apple SSD
    While loading the browser is quick starting up, I notice a delay to open any website, like it's preloading the entire page versus just loading.  Safari seems like it's a bit sluggish overall with loading web pages.
    Did a internet speed test and my U/D rates are the same after the upgrade.

    The HTTP service stops for no reason and we have to stop and restart to unlock and web server runs again. It appears to be related to number of concurrent users but we cannot tie it down to and specfics except on our NT 4.0 system the service never stops and runs fine . We are running versions R1 patch 4 and have gone up to 5 and 7 . We are running against an 9i database and using forms and reports. We are not using the forms server in patch 4 just the HTTP service. This is a big problem and would like an answer if possiable.

  • Playlist(s) stop for no reason

    I have a couple playlists where at the end of different songs, the ipod stops for no reason - doesn't go to next song. I know that the entire list hasn't played yet and there is no max. set for number of songs.
    Any clues?

    There is a firewall on my AIX 5.2. The EM uses the port 5500 as the connection. After emctl stop dbconsole/emctl start dbconsole, the error message disappeared. I need to check my JRE on the AIX. my colleague reported me something related to the JRE. Does anyone know how to verify the environement of JRE on AIX 5.3 run by Oracle? There are some log and trc files in the $ORACLE_HOME/$host_sid/sysman/log associated with the monitoring the conditions of the JAVA in Oracle. Does anyone how to interpretate the info about those file?

    remove the layers beneath and it's fine.  Hopefully adobe addresses this issue asap to save all of us a good amount of time.

    I have noticed similar: apply crop to a layer and with all settings at 0 a line of underlying video can be seen at the bottom.

  • DVD plays random video after disc is stopped for 1st time

    For some reason when i stop a disc that I made with DVDSP 4.1.1 and then press play again, instead of starting on the main menu or in the middle of where I left off, the disc begins playing a random video that I hadn't even accessed yet. Why would this happen?

    Are you Pressing stop in one of your menus?
    Pressing stop then play in the menu domain will automatically default to track 1 in your outline. Disable your user ops in that menu if you want to prevent this behavior

    I have the LifeProof case for the iPhone5, and I remember the instructions saying that any protective screen cover should be removed before enclosing the phone into the case, but I left mine on with no ill effects.
    But I should have taken off the back protective film, which was covering the video mic!

  • Canon HG20 video wont play back after capture

    Hi All,
    I have a strange issue that I am hoping that someone here has encountered has an idea of what to do.
    Last summer I shot some video of an important person involved in stopping child trafficking in Nepal who was visiting the US on speaking tour. The video was shot on the Canon HG20 in 24p.
    I have been having many issues with my edit machine and finally having replaced it I have gotten around to capturing everything from that camera in the urgent need to erase the drive and for another shoot.
    I took the footage in using log and transfer with Apple Pro Res HQ as my setting and all seemed well. I have done this before and never had an issue. During the transfer the clips played back perfectly and looked really beautiful; a great interview. I started a back up of the media, then (stupidly) erased the media off of the camera and went on my merry way.
    When I came back I saw that Chronosync did not complete the back up because of errors. The video would only show a freeze frame and play some audio in Quicktime before Quicktime would crash and give error messages. In FinalCut Pro it alternated mostly green, a little suppressed audio from the interview interspersed with clicking, whining and popping sounds. Then Final cut would crash with errors.
    I tried importing the video to a new project. It imported but had the same result. I tried to copy the files to a new drive, in case the drive was at fault and it would not copy citing errors.
    In Final Cut I may have located the problem, I transferred the material from the camera at 29.97 instead of 24p.
    Does anyone have any idea how I can save my footage? It would be worth it.

    It is a Sony Handycam DCR-HC28, mini DV, using a firewire connection.
    Operating System is Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3, system specs are SATA 2 RAID 1 with dual 1 TB hard drives. 4 GB RAM. As far as how fast my processor is, I looked on my invoice and it says, "Intel Core2 processor Q6600 (2.4 Ghz, 1066 FSB) with Quad Core technology and 8 MB cache, 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM at 800 MHz.
    I defragmented my hard drive before beginning and have 779 GB or 83 percent free space on hard drive.
    I have not placed my video clips on the timeline yet so don't know if there is a red line on top, indicating it hasn't been rendered. I merely wanted to play back my clip to set "in" and "out" points. This has never happened before in my long history of using Premiere Elements. Would prefer not to have to go back to PE 8, as that was a disaster.

  • How to export video that plays back smoothly?

    I have an HD project in Premiere Pro CS4 that is about 9 minutes.  When I render out to Flash for the web, once it's all buffered it plays back real smooth.  So the client wants a copy of the "file" to be played on his computer running Windows and Windows Media Player which he will attach to a large 55" flatscreen via HDMI at a trade show.  I rendered out several different files ranging from .MOV to H.264 in various resolutions (1920x1080, 1280x720p, 720x480 wide, iPod, etc.) and tested them on my Dell Inspiron i3 laptop running Windows 7 Home 64 bit connected to my 46" tv via HDMI to simulate what the client would have.
    The 1920 file was huge (2GB) as one would expect and plays back jerky
    The 1280x720p .MP4 file was about 400mb which I was excited about, but plays back jerky
    The other two (.MOV and .MP4) at 720x480 play back smoothly
    So I'm guessing that it's either a disk / processor issue with playing back the larger files or combo of that and the graphics card or am I having an issue with the way the settings are set in the export options?
    The box I'm producing the video on is a Mac i7 quad-core, 8GB RAM and a nice ATI card.  The full rez versions of the files play fine on it.  BluRay is out too.  Don't have a burner and they don't have a player.
    So what file format and settings can I render out that will yield smooth(er) results at larger resolutions for my intended output?

    And the answer is.... converting the footage to WMV.  Tada.  I exported a nice huge HD 1920x1080 H.264 file and then used iSkysoft Video Converter to convert it to WMV.  Now the only thing is that iSkysoft Coverter only allows 1280x720 as it's largest resolution for WMVs, but even so, the quality on a 46" LCD TV coming from a laptop via HDMI looks pretty sharp.  The video was running very smooth (and it was running off a USB key <g>) to boot.
    The file size of the original HD H.264 file:  9.02GB
    The file size of the converted WMV: 437.5MB
    All in all I'm happy with this breakthrough.  I was "this" close to buying a BluRay burner, media and telling the client to use a BluRay player.
    Now... I love what I got, but it could be better.  Does anyone know of a good video converter that will convert WMVs to true HD resolution (1920x1080) or is that 1280x720 a WMV limit?

    so i been working on this same project for weeks now
    and one day i get up and it will not play in project manager
    i am able to scrub through the film and see it,, but when i press
    play nothing moves
    is there something that could be stopping playback

    the project settings are
    800x600 desktop / 30 fps / PAR = square pixols 1.0
    the footage is
    800x600 / 30fps / techsmith  avi [made with camtasia ]

    first          all the footage i have just tryed HAS worked before
    second     i have just tryed making new projects with prem pro nothing will play all files load and i can scrub along the time line and the picture moves just nothing when i press play
    third       i have also tryed to run the footage using prem pro pal dv preset that used to work with the footage but now nothing
    it makes me think there is something wrong with the play icon in prem or the way my pc listens to the play icon but all the footage works fine in after efects and all the footage plays in VLC player
    is there another component  in my pc hardwear or softwear that could cause this play back problem i wonders
    mmm  also i did move and increase my virtual memory page file may be that caused it but i sure it worked between now and when i moved the page file

  • Elements 9.03 with Windows XP - Only Audio Portion of Video Files Playing Back

    I'm using Elements 9.03 with Windows XP. When I download videos from my Sony HandyCam, the video portion of the file does not play back, only audio. Is there a setting I can adjust or do I need to use a more recent version of Windows?

    The video format may not be supported e.g. if AVCHD
    If you ever consider upgrading your computer and software, you will get maximum benefit from the combo. Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements. As well as being the best value for money, it supports all the modern formats and allows the burning of HD DVD’s and many other options, not possible in PSE alone.
     

  • AMS play back stops once 30 ppl are watching

    I am posting this here and  the Adobe Forum service.
    I am streaming live/dvr with 5.0.4  using the m1.large ec2 server. I have streamed well with 100+ people watching at the same time for 72 hrs events.
    I have 14 live feeds each connected to a different aws cloudfront. All feeds exists on the 1 ec2 adobe server (livepkgr 1-14)
    My web code calls to an standard .swf strobe player on my server (that came with AMS,) through cloudfront also.
    My streams are viewed on my website through enbed code which  ask for .f4m and .m3u8 through amazon cloudfront code to reduce server calls.( as I thought this might help with any bandwidth issues since each cloudfront is suppose to be 27 extra cache servers?)  The problem I just ran into this weekend was, with the only difference being the .swf player was on adobe.com
    I was only using 1 live feed this time. Then, once 31 people were viewing on 1 cloudfront feed the strobe player would stop on the website.!!?? I would have to stop FMLE live feed  and restart each time. Then the feed would come back and again once 30+ viewers were watching, down again. And the feed was being shown on two separate websites. Both sites have unlimited bandwidth in terms of people who can log on to watch.
    I am only encoding at 400kbs. on 1 feed, through 1 cloudfront. My ec3 was only at 10% usage.
    30 ppl would be only 12 Mbps
    Can someone please help. What should be my best setup to get the most out of this size ec2 before have to move up to the larger servers.
    Seems as though I should be able to more than 30 people to watch at one time on a m1.large

    Extra note: I have used the c1. class ec2's and can get 150 viewers. The ec2 is 8x larger, but will I get this same problem when 240 viewers are watching?

    You say your sequence settings match the clips. But if they really match, there shouldn't even be an opportunity to render on the timeline.
    You are probably using a codec that is not DV - clearly it is not the same as your timeline or you wouldn't need to render.
    Thanks everyone for your input, but I'm still at a loss and pulling my hair out. First, let me reiterate that these clips play back perfectly smoothly in iMovie, and in a larger window to boot, without dropping any frames. So I doubt my older G4, or hard-drive data throughput, is to blame.
    Let me clarify the problem. When I view clips in the Viewer, I'm not sure that frames are being dropped. Rather, every 2 secs (like clockwork), the clip freezes momentarily, then plays smoothly for another 2 secs, almost as if a cache is being filled up before playing the next 2 sec.
    I've double and triple-checked that my settings, and clips, are for DV. The clip icon on the desktop is a little slate with the letters "DV" in the center.
    My A/V Settings show the Sequence Preset: DV NTSC 48 kHz
    My Sequence Settings are:
    Frame size: 720 x 480 NTSC DV (3:2)
    Pixel aspect ratio: NTSC-CCIR 601/DV (720x480)
    Field dominance: Lower (even)
    Editing timebase: 29.97
    Compressor: DV/DVC Pro NTSC
    Quality: 100% (i.e. Best)
    Scan mode: Interlaced
    Aspect ratio: 4:3
    Audio rate: 48 kHz
    Audio depth: 16-bit
    Audio config: Default
    Lastly, the only 2 strange things I've found is that even though the clips are DV, in the clip properties it says the data rate is 6.9 Mb/sec (I thought DV is 3.2 Mb/sec). Also, the audio says 32 kHz (I thought DV is 48 kHz). Does this mean anything?
