Video Ram using windows

hy everybody i've got a question.
I recently bought a brand new iMac (27' 3,4 i7 4GB Video Ram 8GB cpu ram 1TB fusion drive). I need to install a win programm which needs at least 3 GB of video ram.
i tried with parallels desktop 8 but it said i can only virtulize 1GB of video ram.
i wonder if anybody got my same problem, should i use boot camp or any other program?
i can't stand to wait a mac version of that program or any other program, i've got 4 gb of video ram and i want to use them!
thank u very much and sorry for my not perfect english!
Apple rulez!

From what I know, that game doesn't require 3 GB of VRAM, so you should be able to install it on your Mac with Boot Camp.
First, get a 64-bit Windows 7 and 8 version, and follow these steps to install Windows > http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf Then, install the game

  • Is it possible to use my ram as dedicated video ram on windows 8 bootcamp

    i have a mid 2014 MacBook pro
    8gb of ram
    dual core i5
    intel iris 5100 graphics
im using my mac for gaming and need some dedicated video ram, I saw other computers like asus or Toshiba that were able to boot into windows bios and change there ram as dedicated ram, bootcamp has no bios so im wondering if there any third party applications of something built into bootcamp that would allow me to change a setting like that.
    thanks in advance

    From http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033984.htm
How is graphics memory allocated in Windows 8/8.1*?
The Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 operating system adds improved support for graphics, simplifying graphics, memory configuration, and management. As part of this new graphics memory management, the Intel® HD Graphics Driver leaves more of the graphics memory sizing to Windows 8/8.1.
W8+ report GPU memory differently as compared to OSX.
This is from a 2012 Intel HD4K running W8.1 64-bit. Notice the value of Adapter RAM versus what is reported in Screen Resolution.

  • Video RAM in Windows 7

I've got Windows 7 RC 32-bit installed in a Boot Camp partition and it seems to work quite well. My only problem is that I can't get the Aero interface to work since Windows is saying I only have a standard VGA adapter with 14 MB of video memory! Is there any way to tell Windows that I have the NVIDIA Geforce processors?
Would I be better off installing the 64-bit version of the Windows 7 RC?
I've boosted the resolution up to 1440x900 and the color to 32-bit, but I'd like to try out the Aero interface.
I have to use Windows 7 in Boot Camp because I need the Virtual XP for some VPN software from my employer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good News! Got it working. The NVIDIA driver is fully recognised and running fine. Managed to get a INF file that worked at laptopvideo2go. Thanks for the suggestion.
Instructions in case anyone else needs it:
    (1) D/L 18691_win7x64 driver with the nvfu INF file.
    (2) Unzip the 18691_win7x64.zip file to a directory. Replace the INF file with the one you download separately from laptopvideo2go.
    (3) Open Device Manager. Right click on the Display Adapter --> Standard VGA
    (4) Select Properties
    (5) Driver Tab --> Update Driver Button
    (6) Browse my computer for driver software
    (7) Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    (8) uncheck show compatible hardware
    (9) Select NVIDIA --> Graphics Model
    (10) Click HAVE DISK button
    (11) Browse and select the INF file in the directory that you unzipped
    (12) It should then Install and you will see the device listed in the DEVICE MANAGER now instead of the Standard VGA one.
    Good Luck

  • I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes in my video using Windows Movie Maker.   Can anyone tell me how to do that?

I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes, from my library if you will, in my video (slideshow) using Windows Movie Maker.
Does anyone know if that is possible to do?   If so, would you please tell me how to do that?

    Hello, a1p2r3.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple options available to you to transfer purchased media to your computer.  Below, I have included a couple articles that outline this process.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod to the iTunes library.

  • CS4 using a Mac and want to play video using windows media player

Hi I am having issues with file types to play video back using Windows media player.
I am producing video using Premiere CS4 on a Mac and I need to know what format to use to have the files play in windows media player as .mp4 is not compatable with wm player.
    Thanks

I have Windows Media Player installed on my PC workstation and I do remember installing a codec so that MP4 files could play in WMPlayer 11 on Windows Vista 64-bit (should work on 32-bit also)
look near the bottom section of this link for further information.  The codec is called DirectShow
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316992#34
Otherwise if you're posting videos on a webpage for example in the mp4 format use the Quicktime html wrapper so that people using Mac's can also view your videos that are encoded for PC's.  If you encode in wmv format (Windows Media Video) then provide a link to the "Flip4Mac" application that can use Quicktime on the Mac to play Windows Media Files.  I think you can find it on www.mactopia.com .

  • Downloading shockwave using windows 98

trying to download shockwave but unable. Have Pentium III 450
MHz with 128 RAM using Windows 98 2cd ed. After I press shockwave
download icon, it says that the control is not adequate and that I
need to upgrade to new shockwave control. Can't seem to do that
    though. Please advise.

I have a Zen Xtra 40GB and I'm using Windows 98SE and I have not been able to get things to work. I tried using the installation disk and it could not complete the install....it would hang up at the point where the drivers were being loaded. After some playing around I got the drivers installed, but Nomad Explorer did not see that the MP3 player was connected. I also tried MediaSource (it loaded on just fine) and it recognized the player, but would crash when the program tried to "read" from the player. I plan to return the player and get my money back.

  • Dear All, I can't play flash videos from any web site through firefox because it freezes but when i run firefox as administrator then it works fine (But Google Chrome Plays all videos normally.) . I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help

    Dear All,
Firefox hangs when i try to play flash videos from any site but when i run firefox as administrator it works fine. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 Plays videos without running as administrator.) I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Hi. I use windows Xp with service pack 3. I have the latest itunes 11.1 installed in it. I am able to add music or apps to my library but not just videos. Please help.

Hi. I use windows Xp with service pack 3. I have the latest itunes 11.1 installed in it. I own ipad mini. I am able to add music or apps to my library but not just videos. I have already tried removing & reinstalling it. I also have tried with various formats like MPEG, MOV, MP4. Please help.

I already have what you ( ClayandLonnie ) have suggested with the preferences>Shareing Preferences set to share all.
I have tried turing it off, and then back on.
I have tried just sharing specific items and this still did not work.
I am going to try stepping back down to 11.04.4 as previously suggested by TheDarkCanuck when I get home tomorrow. (maybe saturday).  I am just leary about having to recreate all my libraries and how long that might take.  I have over 1.5 TB of Music and Video, that is why I would like to get it working in the current version.
Just because I don't have a Mac, it seems that this is not being taken as a real problem for the windows 7 users (maybe it is specific to 64bit).  I may try the 32bit version to see if that fixes it first.  Unless someone else has, and want to chime in.

  • Can I make a DVD from iPhone videos using windows 7?

  • Problem in stretching video using windows media player control

    Hello
I am using windows media player 9 and set the stretchtofit property to true. But when I play a video of size 256X192 on a window media control player whose width and height is set to 640 and 384 respectively I find black areas on left and right side of video. My system has windows 2000 and is set to 1280X720 resolution.I am using labview 7.0.
If anybody encountered the same problem or any suggestion please help to solve the problem.
    Veena

Are you sure that this property means that the image is "stretched"? It might mean that if the video size is X and the control's size is 2X, the picture will be stretched to fit the control without losing the aspect ratio. I know that the regular WMP does not stretch images. You can easily test this by playing a file smaller than the control and setting the property to F. You can also search google\Microsoft for the WMP SDK.

What videos? What are you using to try to play them?
Also, this forum is for Apple support. Since your problem is Windows related, you are not likely to get much help here.

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.
