Video record stuttering...have a question on syncing things
So I'm publishing a video and recording it on the FMS. I am using a Timer to keep track of the seconds (actually tenths of seconds) that the video is recording so that when the person sending the broadcast does anything else like start a commercial or bring on a guest (in another stream), I can keep track of the time for those events (in a database). The problem I'm facing is that if the broadcasters connection is slow then the video doesn't skip frames to get ahead but rather slows and stutters. This throws off the Timer.
How can I sync 'events' in relation to the broadcasters stream?

I've also heard the meter will change and reflect battery life based on what function is currently being used. So, after watching a lengthy video it may be red but if you switch to music it turns green because the current function uses less battery life per min/hour of use than videos do.

Your advice to back up, format and re-copy the files to the memory card fixed the problem.
It takes a long time to back up 8GB via USB (1.5 hours) so choose a time when you're not going to need your phone!
Also, use it as an opportunity to upgrade the firmware using the Software Updater. I have put version 20 on my N95 and the camera seems much more responsive.

I need to play back a video-recording that I have taken myself and have it show the time counter in secs/minutes in the playback. Can anyone help?
the movie editing app "Avid Studio" displays a time counter, as does the Pinnacle editing app. Oddly enough, I movie does not. (unless I have it somehow turned off.)

Video recorded with iPhone 4, won't sync with iPad
I have the iPhone 4 and have recorded lots of video of my baby and I also have an ipad (boy was mommy mad at the purchase amounts . Anyway, I sync my iPhone with my macbookpro and see the videos and photos in iPhoto. I then create an event (with videos and photos made with iPhone 4)and then check the box under photos in iTunes to sync with my iPad.
I don't see my videos on the iPad with my photos. Is this a possible thing even? I am using 3 apple devices to share all photos and video to each and the photos appear on the iPad just not the videos made with the iPhone 4. Is the Photos App on the iPad capable of playing videos in itself?
Any suggestions would be fine. I'm sure I will have answers that will suggest that I have a wrong format for trasferring but I haven't changed anything about the quality or way the iPhone records. Just wished that I could go through the ipad's photo app just like I would on the phone. Built by the same company, claiming the name change of iPhone os to ios because they are all the same, but lacking common features.
What I want to know, in addition to the answer red555 gave me is, will the photo app in the iPad ever display the videos also or is there no plan of it due to apple restricting the photos app to hold only 16gigs. I believe people say it's due to indexing, but videos are just large files. Would hold less index if videos took up most of the space. I got an iPad for the screen size. Nice to hand off my iPad for grandma to see, rather than my phone, so she has to find her glasses to see videos

Phone call interrupting video recording
Just a quick clarification-
I've noticed that while recording a video, if a phone call comes in (even if it is declined), the video is ended. This obviously does make sense as incoming calls should have priority, and I suppose means that airplane mode is the way to go if I'm recording a video that I don't want to be interrupted.
My question is: Is the above statement correct or is there an option or setting I'm missing that would allow a call to be declined during video recording and have the video continue? Using Airplane Mode isn't a huge problem, but it would be nice to be able to monitor incoming calls and have the choice whether to accept the call and end the video or decline the call and have the video continue.
Thanks for the help!I had a iphone 3g and had static during phone calls - mostly on the person who I was calling. I hoped that when I upgraded to the iphone 3gs the problem would go away (thinking maybe I had a faulty speaker). But the problem still persists with this new phone (just a month old). I read where I should reset the phone, recharged the phone and reset the phone. But you would think buying a new phone would have done those same things. Perhaps it is an AT&T issue. That makes more sense since both phone have the same issue. But I would take an answer from Apple if they would like to share the definitive answer to this problem. Apple, your turn.

thanksFirstly apologies I totally forgot to add my mac details, they are as below as for the video recorder i have a couple of VHS Video recorders I could use one is made by Black Diamond the other Thomson. They have standard scart connectors and red/white/yellow audio/video out if this make sense? As for software I have standard Mac applications iMovie iDVD.

JoI have an iPhone 3GS which includes video recording, so have no experience of any video recording Apps.
The only thing I know is that apparently they are all limited to 15 frames-per-second recording, due to the slower processor speed of the iPhone 3G. -

I tried the "Internet Recovery" option and finally saw Mac OS X Mountain Lion's install page but after waiting 7 hours when I just thought its going to start installing, I got another progress bar with 36 hours remining time to download "Additional Components" then after progressing 2-3 hours, it shows "Unable to write installation something..., Contact Apple Care"
Then I accidently rebooted the machine and now it seems Internet Recovery don't work anymore, it shows "support.apple.com - 40 something!" error, and finally when I tried to reboot using Recovery HD, I found it's gone as-well!
To be honest, I don't know what to do now, I am and dissapointed... also I do not have any Apple Store nearby, there is an authorized country reseller almost 650/km far away from my residents and they even charges too high (like $250) for doing such repairs (as per phone conversation)
If anyone have any idea or anything to help me with, please do share- I'd be eternally grateful! -
I'm on OS X 10.6.8 and have a .mov file which plays on QuickTime 10.0 but with choppy video and the sound is out of sync???? File details are Video Codec: DNxHD (AVdn) Resolution 1920x1080 Audio Codec: PCM S24 BE (in24) Bitrate: 1536kb/s. Any ideas?
Question: Is all the source footage shot in 16 bit audio or is some also shot in 12 bit?

Just to to clear.
The Photos app on your iPhone is the only place you will see your recorded movies and/or movies synced from iPhoto on your computer.
As Rudegar suggests, the Photo app is divided between your camera roll where unsynced movies/photos are kept and Photo Library shows movies/photos that have been synced from iPhoto on your computer to your iPhone.
Like music, your movies will only be available in the iPod app if you purposely imported your recordings into iTunes itself, i.e. they exist in the movies section of iTunes on your computer.

I will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone. -
I use my iphone 5 to record home videos. I have an apple tv but dvd burners dont have a hdmi plug in. Any suggestions on how i can burn videos from iphone 5?
I had a av cord that plugged into the iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 but its not compatible with the 5 connector. Right now i have to email myself the videos in small segments and open and save on the iPad 2 to burn them. Is there an easier way to burn these from my iPhone 5 or through air play on apple tv?

In the evening I can see I have 10 unread emails on my exchange account. I leave them unread. The following day, at work, I view and read all my mails from today and yesterday, so that I have NO unread messages. When I then sync my iphone it marks only the mails from today as read but, leaves all the mails from yesterday marked unread. Only solution so far is for me to go through the mails on my iphone one at a time for them to be marked as read.
My mail account is set to sync 1 month back.
I have had this problem on all the iphones I have had.
I currently have an iPhone 5 and my software is up to date.

Is this email account only setup on one computer or several computer?

school work, watching YouTube videos, and listening to music can be done on any MacBook Pro, new or used. Photo editing is the most demanding task on your list (unless you take up video editing, in which case it would be the most demanding); you can edit photos (and even videos) on MacBook Pros without discrete GPUs, but many operations will be done more quickly on MacBook Pros with a discrete GPU than on those with only an integrated GPU. If photography is your main interest, that could point to a Retina screen as a feature which might be high on your list of preferences; but since all Retina models have soldered-in RAM, however much RAM is present a Retina model is the amount which you’ll need to live with for as long as you own it. The Late 2013 models also have SSDs for which no third-party alternative is available, so at the moment their SSDs can be considered non-upgradeable also. Whether the cheaper MacBook Pro will cope with your needs could depend upon how much screen resolution you’d be satisfied with, and where you find yourself on the GPU time-saved vs. money-spent continuum.
Note that the last 17-inch models made were Late 2011 models; if you’re not interested in used MacBook Pros, then their heaviness would be a moot point.
