Video rendering or what

Hi, rookie here, help please
I use Premiere Elements 9 in a HP i7 4GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. When I try to edit my .MOV files (from Canon EOS 7D) the video images freezes and starts to jump, and do not follow the sound. I read on foruns that I should convert the videos to .AVI. Which I did. But no luck. The same problem happens.
I read about video rendering, but not sure if I understood. Can't I edit the videos at the best (HD) quality? Should I convert the videos in a more compressed format?
Can you help me? I read the forum (this one, and another ones) and I still can't solve this issue.

Hi, nealeh, thx for your help
I did what you told me.
I am not sure if I understood, but I try to answer your questions:
What video settings on your Canon did you use?
1920x1080px 25f
How did you get the clip from your camera to PRE9
not sure about your question. I open then on PRE9. First, directly (.MOV files) and secondly after trasncoding (.AVI)
What Project Preset are you using?
same as camera's
Use the GSpot Codec Information Utility to analyse the file and post screen image.

  • What is video rendering error: -50

When trying to "Share" my movie in iMovie 10.0.1 I receive the following error.
The share operation "File" has failed
    Video rendering error: -50
This occurs no matter how I try to share it (Theater, itunes, file, etc.) or output resolution. Does anyone know what this means or more importantly how to fix it?

You are not the only one with this problem. Seems like a bug in iMovie.

Does anyone know what "video rendering error: -50" means?   I am trying to back up a movie i made on iMovie and get that message every time, about 30 times...   OSX10.9.2, iMovie 10.0.3, Toshiba externals 2TB etc

    Hi Babowa and Apple:
Thanks for helping me.   Here is my workflow:
I store any file that I save onto my external drives so that I don't fill up my main hard drive.....( I label each external hard drive by year + alpha, such as 14a, 14b etc.)  Is that a problem?   Any suggestions?
I know iMovie works from the main iMac HD and therefore needs to find the file that I want in the external drive, such as when I "import" a file from an external such as 14a into iMovie that has been previously downloaded onto the external 14a (I download all SD cards & tapes to externals)......and it sounds like you're saying that is causing iMovie problems because the file is not so easily accessible for iMovie?
I assume that iMovie processes the file that I have "imported" into an "iMovie Event" on my iMac HD.  I label that version as say "NLGE 3000E" for my 3000th movie, Event version, "events" that is always rough.
After I have imported media as an event and have labeled an event, "NLGE 3000E,"  then I go to "new movie" that I assume is a "project".....and I label that version "NLGE 3000P1"...."P" for "project" and "1" for the first edition....also to help me keep track of where my movies go.   I focus on "Projects" then when editing ...and watch which edition I am editing and which edition appears where.
I learned that I need to "share" all movies from "Projects" to save......and store my final versions on my external drive, 14a (eg) so that I am sure that I have a retrievable copy.   I try to share to YouTube from iMovie and succeeded 1/10 tries.
Evidently a movie is not saved unless it is in "theater"?
Please see next "reply" for other comments about retrieval.
    Thanks.

  • New project to DVD works fine, but sharing to a Blu ray fails, with a error message "video rendering error 60."  What is that and how do I fix it?

getting an error message "video rendering error 60" when burning a new final cut pro project to Blu ray.  Burning to regular DVD works fine.  I have burned many other projects successfully to blu ray.  What is this message and how do I fix it?

If this same timeline can be exported to other file formats and can be shared successfully to DVD, possibly it's the longer render time in the Blu Ray processing that is the problem. In the Finder in Applications, right click Final Cut Pro dot app, choose Get Info and verify that Prevent App Nap is checked. If it isn't, check it and try again.

  • Computer specs for nice 3D rendering/ after effects rendering and video rendering in general ?

Hi there! I would like to know what the perfect specs for a laptop/workstation/computer are, so that I could do my creative work from home..my old laptop (Macbook Pro, 8Gb Ram, V 2010) is not good enough for 3D rendering, not even Video rendering or After Effects... I need to know what graphics card for eg or how much Ram or what I need to look for in a computer so that I won't get any error messages after rendering for half a day anymore...;) (--> very annoying) Money is not a first priority...i would first like to know, what the best option would be that one could have and then down size from there;)
I would appreciate every help:) my laptop is dying...i need something new and better;)
    cheers stephs

Regardless of workflow, you want a workstation, not a laptop. You will get much more bang for your buck.
Also, as others have said, Windows machines tend to be better choices than Macs right now. And that's coming from two people who used to use/love Macs...
In general, you want the fastest clock speed on your processor that you can afford. You want as many cores as you can get with that nice, high clock speed.
Ideally, you want 4GB of RAM per core of your processor - MINIMUM 16 GB of RAM, (but get as much as you can afford).
You want an SSD for your cache and a good-sized regular hard drive to hold footage, renders, etc.
GPU matters for Premiere and any third-party plugins that use it (like Red Giant Universe, Element 3d, Mettle's ShapeShifter, etc.), but not for AE and not for Cinema 4D (which comes free with AE these days).
Again, this is just some generalization. For more specific info, we'll need to know more about what you're doing.
Also, you don't need to take our word for any of this; read what Adobe has to say on the matter: FAQ: What computer and components should I buy?

  • Video rendering extreemly slow or just halts

Being playing with video a bit since I bought a Sony RX100 III.  Other than the well known problem with Dolby audio I find that rendering of video clips in Photoshop CC is very hit or miss.  Sometimes the clip renders (very slowly if many adjustments have been made) or a rotating disc appears and nothing at all happens, task manager shows some activity but not nearly as mutch as when rendering is happening properly - the program seems to be in an infinite loop.  My Windows 8.1 machine is reasonably powerful, if I use DaVinci Resolve Lite (if you think Photoshop has a steep learning curve try Resolve!!!) then even with quite complex edits clips render at around real time (25fps).  Something is clearly wrong with the video rendering routine in Photoshop which is a pity as I only want to do the occasional bit of video editing and rendering and certainly don't want to pay for a dedicated video editing tool or invest hours of time learning Resolve (the Lite version is, amazingly, a free download).
Am I missing something?  Do others find Photoshop video rendering flakey?  Is there a work round for this problem?

I do not do video. However i did take a few clips with my Canon 1D Mark 4 it captures 1920x1080 frames and audio. The latgest clip I have is only like two minuets long.  Video captured is format .MOV and the files tend to be very large. 300MB+ per minute. So I thought let see what Photoshop CC 2014 does rendering it to mp4. Render seem to be threaded so the more processors  cores you have the better off your are.  I have two slow 2GH 6 core xeons in my work station soe 24 threads were used.  It took CC 2014 just under 3 minuets to rendet the video went from 733MB to 380MB around 1/2 size and bite rate the mp4 is.

  • Video Rendering error 3 Compressor crash

         Hello all,
brand new on the forum here and have a problem i can't seem to figure out. trying to export a 35 min docu dram off my computer 2.2 i7 macbook pro 8 gig ddr ram os x 10.9.1. I  shot the footage on cannon 5d mark ii, all video is rendered and and color graded. whenever i try to export out of fcp it" unexpectedly quits" regardless of codec chosen. so i send to compresor and then run into video rendering error 3. if anyone knows what this means or has a work around or anything that can help it would be hugely helpful. i am four days away from a deadline on a two year project and cant get fcp or compressor to get the finished thing out.
    help?
    please?
    help.

Had the same problem, here is what you could do, highlight the project in timeline
To prepare to send, then go to "file" share master file' once share is completed should
    Automatically be a mov. File,
Select destination on your computer, Send.
Find movie in your destination folder then either burn, convert as needed.
This worked for myself. I tried everything before and was also getting error 3.
Give it a try. Good luck.    Mark.

  • I Can Not Change My Video Rendering and Playback Setting...

Normally you should be able to change the "Video rendering and playback" in Project Settings to "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration", if you're using a some what high-end system... But when I go to the Project Settings, the bar is grey and I can't select anything, all I see is "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" in grey. I have a HP Pavilion dv8 laptop, with NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M. How can I fix this situation?

Here is a LIST of SUPPORTED VIDEO CARDS. Now, the list might have grown a bit, by now, so I am not sure that this is 100% inclusive today.
    Good luck,

Very little works like it did before.

  • I'm using Windows 8.  I have 2 folders in my videos library - movies and personal videos.  When I try to import a movie into iTunes, it puts it in the Home Video section and if I import a personal video, it puts it into the home video section.  what up?

Im using Win8.  I originally had all my ripped movies in a movie folder listed in the videos library.  This imported into iTunes movies with no issue.  I later added a second folder t my library - personal videos where i put all my home videos.  I was able to import this into iTunes and it showed up in "Home Movies" - very cool and exactly what I wanted.  Now, if I add a new ripped movie and put it in my movie librairy and try to import it into iTunes, it places it in Home Movies.  And if I put a new personal video, it will also import into iTunes under 'Home Video?.  What is going on here??  Any help would be greatly appreciated - it seems like this is a bug in iTunes 11.

I thank you for the response.  Apple does some assinine things sometimes and this is one of them.  Ask the planet the difference between a movie and a home video and with the exception of Apple, you'd get 100% consenus on the what difference is.  A home video is something that I shoot, like my kids birthday party.  A movie is something I urchased either via download or a DVD that I ripped.  Unbelievable!   The fact that Apple has chosen not to distinguish based upon which folder I tell it is Movies and which folder is Home Videos is really hard to fathom - sounds like something Windows would do. I find it funny that in my iTunes movies sub-section of the movies section, the movie icons have a cloud icon in upper right corner to distinguish it as bought from Apple iTunes versus no cloud icon for movies that I have ripped - so the distintion was already made and clearly visible.  Now - everything just defaults to "home videos" if I try to import a new ripped DVD - why even bother to have this distinction on the iTunes bar?  WOW!
As for your direction, I do not understand what you are telling me - what Media Kind and what Options tab are you referring to?  I see no Options tab in iTunes.  Right licking on the movie icon does not yield media kind or options as well.  Gping to the source file does not yield these options either.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Why do i need three? - Google Talk Plugin, Google talk plugin video renderer and Google talk plugin video accelerator?

When I check my plugins, the following three, very closely related (in my mind) plugins are listed, and the "Renderer" still shows "Research" when checking to see if it is Up-To-Date. It seems to me I don't need all three. I tried removing the Renderer (yes, I know how to do that safely), but Google seems to continue to reinstall it (with one or both of the other two...?)...I'll ask this on a Google Forum too, since it's their product, but wondered if anyone has any insight. I obsess about plugins that need "Research" - Thanks!
Google Talk Plugin Video Accelerator version:0.1.44.24
    Google Talk Plugin Version 3.15.2.12038
Google Talk Plugin Video Renderer Version 3.15.2.12038

Went to Google Talk Help and found advice to remove the "googletalkplugin_port file on [my] computer."
http://support.google.com/chat/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=known_issues.cs ... and click "Voice and video plug-in unrecognized" under "Currently Known Issues"....
Now, the only Google Talk plugin I have in Firefox is
    Google Talk Plugin Video Renderer
    Version 3.15.2.12038
...but it does indeed remain "Unrecognized" by Mozilla/Firefox...

  • Photoshop CC Video Rendering

Hi, does the Adobe media Encoder uses CUDA for video rendering? Problem is, when i render video in PS CC, it takes up to 20-30 minutes for a 30sec. clip, only work done was camera Raw filter. CPU ia at 88%, GPU 0% due rendering.

As you see I have latest driver installed so I don't belive this is the problem - something just crashes in photoshop (after the latest update something just don't work anymore).
Like sometimes i can make simpel GIF and sometimes I'm not abel to do same thing with same file cause save for web window play/stop buttons are disabled.
I actually managed to to ger transparent cubes out of it (all 101 of them)- I added replaced illumination texture on each side matchin gwith the material texture,
but now there is no shadows on it beacuse it's basically a light bulb. I belive I just have to doodle with it a bit more and maybe
i manage to get it right (but save for WEB window play/stop buttons still don't work).
I belive there is something to do with photoshop updatet cause i have done some stuff before and it worked well then:

  • How Practical Is MiniMac for Video Editing?  What Other Limitations

Now that I have two MacBooks (one for me, one for the Missus), I'm thinking about replacing -- or at least augmenting -- my nearly two year old Dell XPS 400 desktop with a high-end MiniMac. I thought about an iMac but I just don't like how the iMacs elevate the viewing angle of the display with 4+ inches of hardware in the case below the screen. I like my monitor right on the desk top, and if I get Mini I can adapt it to my existing display.
What I do at the desktop is mostly photo processing and some web development. I'm going to presume that the Mini with 2GHz and 2GB or RAM will be quite adequate for those purposes.
I have not done much video editing, but one of the reasons I'm moving to the Mac platform is because I keep thinking one of these days I'm going to. So the question becomes: without a dedicated, high-end video card/RAM, what are the limitations on video editing with a Mini?
I mean, the all come with iLife, and iMovie, and now iMovie HD-08, so I assume that even the Mini is capable of SOME video editing chores. I'm just wondering at what point I might hit a ceiling and start to wish I'd gone a different route.
I gather that the Mini is intended as an "entry level" Mac (not unlike the MacBook) so I wonder what other limitations users have encountered, if they've ever hit a point where they've said to themselves, "****, I should have gone another route..." ??
I'll spend some more time with some of these other threads too, but that's my primary issue at the moment.
    Thanks,
    --PS

    Hi
+I gather that the Mini is intended as an "entry level" Mac (not unlike the MacBook)+
The MacBook and Mac Mini are very similar in that they both use laptop components and the specs are almost the same. Both use an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics, have a 667MHz FSB and a 2.5" 5400 RPM hard drive etc.
Whilst it doesn't answer your question, I'd be tempted just to hook up an external display, keyboard and mouse to the MacBook and see how you get on. I'd imagine the experience would be very similar to using a Mini, and you'd need a display, keyboard and mouse for the Mini anyway should you then decide to buy one (they're not included).
I expect hard drive speed and capacity would be one limitation, for the MacBook and Mini, but you could always hook up an external firewire drive etc.
