Video resizing after motion

working with a DV NTSC 48 kHz Anamorphic video in FC Pro 5.1.2 - I select a small clip (8 seconds) and do send to motion and and add some text and then save. when i go back to FC that clip is now resized to 4:3 instead od 16:9 like it was originaly. I am sure it is something stupid that i am missing but could use a little help.

Yes, but you have to export it. It will not come over using XML I don't believe.

  • Issue with imported video in after effects!

Let me start by saying I am putting together a video editing portfolio.
I have the final video edit complete and have brought it into after effects, after exporting it as a current settings out of Final Cut Pro 7. I then, accomponied it with motion graphics that include my contact info all within after effects.
The problem starts here in AE: when I press play on the timeline the entire video moves very sluggish.. Then I exported out of after effects and the final export is still sluggish with the audio cutting in and out (viewing in quicktime player) !.. Is the video supposed to be imported into after effects by a certain format and if so what? or is it supposed to be exported out of after effects by a certain format or way, and if so what? Basically I'm at the end of this process and just need to export the final video with the motion graphics out correctly so that it plays smoothly without complications.
I've looked all over and can't seem to find a steady answer to this problem. Thanks in advance, much appreciated!

When previewing, make sure that you're using RAM preview to get real-time playback:

  • Using Adobe Media Encoder to create H.264, MPEG-2, and WMV videos from After Effects - 6/23/14

Very disappointed with this choice. I will definitely be seeking to uninstall this version and go back a version or two. Two many extra steps to export an mp4 now. And now we also have to wait longer for a mp4 to render and can't take advantage of the machine's hardware? You guys fighting mp4 as a standard, forcing us to an additional product, or what? I'll be sharing my extreme disappoint with this 'upgrade' with the rest of the developers at work and who just had it installed. I'm not seeing this being too popular opn social media either. Seems like you only did what was best for you. Thanks for showing us who's boss.

    Frank VA wrote:

Not necessarily. You can render an intermediate codec with AE's render queue (thus using all of AE's power to render) and then drop that file into the Adobe Media Encoder.
This was the workflow I've always used - even when AE could encode with MP4. Why? Well, because AE sucked at MP4 encoding. You couldn't even do multipass endoding with it!
This is a useful workflow in a few ways:
    1. You have an archive-quality file to come back to in the future.
    2. You can use AE's full power to render.
    3. You can use AME's superior encoding capabilities.
    4. You can tweak your compression settings and try various encoding parameters to improve the quality while decreasing the bitrate of your product WITHOUT having to re-render the AE comp every time you try since you're working off of the intermediate file. I mean, imagine a comp with several 3d layers, depth of field, shadows from multiple lights, and 250,000 particles from Particular. What if you made an MP4 and then the client needed a smaller file size or the MP4 you made was too heavily compressed and you needed higher quality? I don't know about you, but I'd much rather only render that 18-hour monster once.
This workflow actually saves time for many people.
And, in any workflow, this produces a better product.
Again, this is what I did even when AE could encode MP4's.
    Frank VA wrote:
You guys fighting mp4 as a standard, forcing us to an additional product, or what?
They aren't fighting MP4 as a standard, in fact, when Adobe folks pop in here and answer questions, that's often their recommendation for delivery codec.
    Frank VA wrote:

Listen, I understand your frustration. Knocking out a quick compressed file from AE for client review is handy.
However, maintaining the h.264 encoding in AE took up development time. There are only so many person-hours per week for the (relatively tiny) AE team to spend on building each version of AE.
I never liked AE's h.264 encoding - AME has always done a superior job. Since we have AME to do our encoding, I would rather the AE team focus their effort on improving AE as a compositing and motion graphics tool rather than as an encoding tool.
Again, I get the frustration. I can see where it feels like they are doing what's good for them and not us, but I think, in the long run, this way is better for us. Right now, the majority of the AE team is working on making AE faster to work with and faster to render. The sooner we get a relatively bug-free version of that, the better! (Especially for folks on Mac OSX Yosemite who can't RAM preview smoothly in any version of AE).
And at least the After Effects team has been very transparent about things - for example, this blog post talks about their reasoning: using Adobe Media Encoder to create H.264, MPEG-2, and WMV videos from After Effects

  • Novice to Adobe video issue after encoding.

    Hi
Im very new to Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder so I realise it might be something I havent or have done to give me my problem.
Im attempting to create a Minecraft video for YouTube, Using Fraps as the recording program and Adobe Premiere Pro as the video editor.
My Adobe is the CS4 version
I have looked at tutorials and followed several different people that are using the same programs as I am but every video I make goes into Adobe Premiere pro good quality but after the Adobe Media Encoding is complete I get like a Motion Blur that was not seen any where during editing.
I was wondering if this was something I had done or not done, ive tryed many different settings both presets and custom found on the tutorials but what ever I do the final video has this Motion Blurr.  Also when the final video has encoded it has like a grey film over the video rather than crisp, which I think is causing the issue.
I have included some settings that I am currently using but as I said it happens on all settings.
The specs that I am using are
    Fraps:
    Recording at 30fps
    Screen Size 1920x1080
    And for Adobe Premiere Pro
New project settings: are all default except the Capture format which I changed to HDV (Ihave also tryed DV with the same problem)
    New sequence settings: HDV 1080p30
    Adobe Premiere Pro Export Settings
    Format is H.264
Preset is custom following the HDTV 1080p 29.97 High quality setting, these settigns are as follows:
    Video Settings:
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Frame: 1920x1080
    FPS: 30
    Pixel Aspect Ratio Widescreen: 16:9
    Profile: Main
    Level: 4.2
    Bitrate Settings are
    Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 1 Pass
    Bitrate Mbps is 8-8
Ive tried to include as much detail as possible.
Any Help would be appriciated thank you.

I'm not entirely sure how much difference this will make, but have you tried VBR 2 pass encoding? It'll take longer to encode but you should get a better result.

  • When I use Photoshop CS 6 to edit video, I don't know how to change video speed after I converted the clip to smart object?

When I use Photoshop CS 6 to edit video, I don't know how to change video speed after I converted the clip to smart object? The clip color turns purple and it only allows me to add motion but not change the clip duration and speed anymore.

Thanks for the reply and as a work around method I used the Photoshop to do all the adjustments then export the video to iMovie to finish the final cut. I also have a problem to paint or clone on a blank video layer created in Photoshop. It tells me the time is beyond the target frame time, I don't understand the message. Can you explain to me what did I do wrong? Thanks a lot!

  • Slow video playback after reinstalling Geforce2 MX  card

Ok, reinstalled (took out the 9200 card) my Geforce2Mx card and now everything is in super slow motion - video, scrolling, typing, opening and closing of apps, pull down menus, loading of web pages - everything. It's like being back on an old SE30 and now even that seems fast to what is happening now. What did I do wrong? Tried rebooting a few times and resetting pram with no better results.

Press the button near the battery on your logic board, it will reset the PMU, which might help.

Tried that also with no results. Also repaired permissions. What could have happened to the machine to do that?
    G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Installed the modified Radeon ATI 9600 Pro for G5 Edition card and I still have the same slow video playback results. However when I boot up from another internal hard drive I do not have the video problems. Everything works just fine. Both of my hard drives had no video problems before screwing around with the ATI cards and now the one still has the problems with the video playback. This one also has Classic on it and Classic also runs slow. BTW I don't know if this has anything to do with it but when I ran a search result for "ATI" no files are installed on that 2nd hard drive which is playing video and loading pages with no problems. Would trashing all those ATI files on the slow drive do anything to help? Or is this just a coincidence?

  • Capture video according to motion detector wireless in labview

    HI
I am new to labview and this NI forums so basically new to everything and i might sound like as if i am asking stupid questions.
This is my final year capstone project, For that i have to capture video according to motion detor response wirelss using labview. So how would i go about that.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks for replying.
I don't really think that it would matter what kind of camera I am using as long as it transmits single(looking to use USB).
So whenever the motion detector detects movement, the video camera would start recording video automatically. And everything has to be wireless.(the program would see if there is movement after every 45 seconds and if there is movement then it would continue to record otherwise it would stop the recording automatically.)
As the picture shows, for the first part -- I would have motion detector connected with microprocessor(any kind of pic) and microprocessor to video camera(so it would be like one circuit).
and then the second part -- receiver would be connected to PC and whenever the camera starts recording video it would save the recorded video on harddisk.
    Thanks.
    Thanks

My classic video ipod won't switch back to regular video mode after using it on an elliptical. The port still allows me to charge and works on the elliptical and treadmill but it will no longer change modes to allow me to watch my shows on the ipod screen

From the iPod's Main Menu choose Videos -> Settings and make sure TV Out is set to Off.
Otherwise, try a hard reset as well.  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Very poor video quality after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I have very poor video quality after transcoding the video file (MPEG) in  Adobe Encore CS5.1. Below you see my used settings in my filmproject.
The problem exists after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1. I checked all steps and found out that there is no problem until transcoding. My exported file  in MPEG has very good video and audio quality.
    Facts:
    1. Camcorder: Panasonic AG-AC160AEJ
Operating System : Windows 7, 64 Bit, Ultimate edition
    Source files: MTS files
    Recording settings (clip settings):
    Type: MPEG Movie
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 25,00
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0
    2. Sequence settings in Premiere Pro
Sequence was created from Clip directly with settings above.
    3. Exporting settings in Adobe Premiere Pro:
Match sequence settings was activated. Now other changes were set.
    4. Exported File:
    Video
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Data Transfer Rate: 25920 kBit / s
    Frame rate: 25
    Audio:
    Bit rate: 384 kBit / s
    Channels: 2 (stereo)
    Frequence: 48 kHz
    5. Transcoding settings in Adobe Encore:
I used different transcoding settings such as automatic DVD Transcoding, CBR and VBR.I also set “use maximum render quality”. But all results were always the same: very poor quality.
Why does the encore transcoding cause such bad video quality?
How can I solve this problem?
    Please help me soon.
    Best regards.

    Hi Ann,
    1) I did not only „Automatic (based on source)“ options in my tests, but also many other customized options.
The results are very poor. I have done a new test with the following settings. The result is also poor:
    Download link: http://www.klavierlehrer-bayern.de/download/test_mpeg2dvd_1.m2v
    Export Settings:
    Format: MPEG2-DVD
    Preset: Custom
Codec: MainConcept MPEG Video, Quality: 5
    Frame Rate: 25 fps
    Field Order: Upper
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Automatic (based on source)
    Render at Maximum Rate: [active]
    Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 2 pass
    Minimum Bitrate (Mbps): 5
    Target Bitrate (Mbps): 9
    Maximum Bitrate (Mbps): 9
    GOP Settings
    M Frames: 4
    N Frames: 12
    Use Maximum Render Quality: [active]
    Multiplexer: None
    2) Why shouldn’t I use the “Match Sequence Settings” in exporting? Because of the big output file size?
I used it and the results are very good as I expected:
    Download link: http://www.klavierlehrer-bayern.de/download/test_MatchSequenceSettings.mpeg
    Export Settings
    Match Sequence Settings [selected]
    1920 x 1080, 25 fps, Upper, Quality 50
    User Maximum Render Quality: [active]
    3) I tried also Dynamic Link in PremierePro (to Encore).
    The results are also poor.
    4) I will test also LagarithLoslessCodec and frameserving +DGMPGDec. But the video is vertical long drawn-ot.
I think I did not use it correctly.
    Regards

  • Quicktime plays video in slow motion

Quicktime plays my video from a Sony NEX-3 camera [H.264 MP4 files] in slow motion. The images plays at a reduced speed, while the sound plays at full speed. One consequence is that image and sound is completely out of sync. The video plays fine in iMovie and MPEG stream clip.
I tried in two Macs: a Macbook Air (10.6.6) and a Macbook (10.6.5) and on both the video is slow motion, but on the Macbook it is extreme slow motion, while on the Macbook Air it is slight slow motion [mainly noticeable through lack of sync between image and sound].
Video from iPhone 4 plays without problems in Quicktime.
Since iMovie plays the Sony video fine, I would assume it is not a Sony video problem, but a bug in Quicktime. How do I get Apple to fix that bug?

  • IBook has no video until after the Apple loading screen

Just as the title says, the iBook (14" G4) will not show video until after the grey Apple loading screen.  It first displays when the Tiger loading screen comes up.  Any ideas?  I've tried a PRAM reset and NVRAM reset.  Anything else I can try?
    Thanks

You could try resetting the PMU, but as long as it's working okay otherwise, I don't think I'd worry about it.

  • I CANT PLAY MY VIDEOS RIGHT AFTER SOME EFFECTS ON THE VIDEO premiere pro cs4

    HEY
I can t play videos right after some effects it freeze for like half a second then  it stops by its self and I have to enter play again  its like a LAG PLEASE HELP I have xp I just bought yesterday with computer and all the requirements are done with higher speed and stronger.

Read suggestion in post above. But main problem with that is the video card and disks setup, and XP is not very good choice for CS4 because of the memory limitations. You would be better of with Vista 32 bit or even better 64 Bit system.

  • A video made with Motion for your viewing

I haven't seen many people post videos that they've made in this forum, so I hope it's not too self-promotional to do so. I regularly check the iWeb forums, and over there people regularly post samples of their work, which I think is good, cause I can get some ideas from this.
Well, I made this video entirely using Motion, so I thought people here might be interested. If you're a Motion user, it's pretty obvious what the effects are: ie. particle emitter, orbit around object, zooms, replicator, etc ...
The video is called "The Future is China". Made for an online video contest with a "future" theme. The video is a spoof, so please don't take it too seriously (the US-China relations issue can be a fairly hot issue, I know). Anyway, here it is:

I'd say I'm still in the latter stages of being a novice at this sort of thing, so I will be receptive to tips if you have any.
