Video's Position Changes after Render

Product: Premiere Pro CS4
OS: Vista Ultimate sp1
RAM: 6 gb installed, but only ~4 gb utilized due to Vista 32-bit restriction
I took some video footage of a Pendulum concert and now I am trying to edit the clips. They are in .avi format, 1280x720, 29.97 fps, 1.0 pixels. I made a new Premiere Pro CS4 project with the same settings so I could edit the files easily. Everything was going according to plan...
http://www.derangedtaco.com/images/prpro1.jpg
But after I rendered what I had done so far, I was shocked to see the video smashed up against the bottom and over to the left.
http://www.derangedtaco.com/images/prpro2.jpg
Why does this happen?

For simplicity's sake, I left that info out. But here goes:
I have a jailbroken iPhone and I used the app "3G iPhone Video Recorder" to get all of the footage. The original encoding was 384x288, 10 fps, 1.0 pixels, .mov file format.
I tried importing the .mov files into Premiere but they did not render well at all. It was playing at a lot less than 10 fps... More like 2. So I used Canopus Edius 5 to re-encode all of the files to 1280x720 (16:9), 29.97 fps .avi files. I opened the newly created .avi files in Windows Media Player and they did run a lot more smoothly.
But when I tried importing these files into Premiere and then rendering, I experienced the problem that I explained in my original post.
So I think we can assume that the original .mov files are the cause of the problem. Maybe they are corrupted, because there is some frame skip. Ah, frustrations.
Thanks for the help btw.

  • Video Scope reading changes after render

I'm having problems with my wave form monitor changing after I've rendered video. I applied a proc amp filter to a video clip and made the adjustments that I wanted according to the levels on the wave form monitor. After I render the clip, I notice the levels revert back to the old readings on the wave form monitor, but the actual numerical values set in the proc amp filter seem to remain the same. Also, as far as I can tell the actual video is not effected and still has the proc amp settings applied to it. Any idea what may be causing this?

Try changing your render setting. Go to the Video Processing tab in the Sequence Settings and change it from Render in 8-bit YUV to Render all YUV material in high-precision YUV. I had what sounds like a similar problem where I color corrected a clip with the 3-way, but after I rendered the black level jumped back up about 5 points. Switching to the high-precision settings fixed it. That might work for you.
    Hope that helps.

  • Video level changes after render

I used 3-way Color Corrector to adjust levels on my video clip.  It looks good on the scope, but after I render, the video level returns to 105%.  I searched for this problem in the archive, and the suggestion was to change render settings to "render all in High Precision YUV.  I have done that, but the problem isn't solved. What gives?

Can't replicate your problem. Have you tried trashing your FCP preferences?

  • Scale of video in timeline changes after rendering

    Hi,
I hope someone can tell me why I'm having this problem: before rendering, my video is adjusted to the frame size in the monitor window. After rendering the video looks all squished at the bottom. The scale and position are off. This has never happened before and I can't figure it out. Help?

Ok, thanks to Eddie Lotter, I now know how to paste in pictures, that's a start.
    So, before I render

  • SplitPane divider position change doesnot render both the components

    Hello
I am trying to use a splitpane that has two panels. By default i want only one of the panels to be seen(initially). But I want the second panel to be visible when I click on the divider.I have done it as follows as a mouse event performed on divider.
    splitPane.setSize(800,800);
    splitPane.setDividerLocation(.5);/splitPane.setDividerLocation(400);
    splitPane.resetToPreferredSizes();
    splitPane.paint();
I can change the size but the second component is not seen initially. On debugging I see the divider position being set(to 400/.5).The panel is seen only when the divider crosses its intial position.(probably after 2/3 clicks).Have tried by inspecting the minimum and preferred sizes of all.The second panel width is overriden with a value 0 on first click inspite of initialising it.
Have been stuck with it for 3 days.
    Hope to get some help.

This is just compliant to Swing rules but not stated in docs:
    0) Configure splitter to be "one touch expandable" and more as necessary.
    1) Play with individual dimensions of both panels, not with split panel.
    2) Declare minimum size for both panels as ZERO to hide one at time.
    3) Declare preferred size for some arbitrary panel and the complement size to other.
It is better, if possible, to declare preferred size to the "less" important panel and attempt to Look&Feel disregarding the size of other (the most important).
Let us know about result in near future.

  • Text color changes after render while using timecode generator/VF tool

    Hi,
I'm having a problem with the timecode generator/viewfinder tool. When I have both a Gaussian Blur (set on something other than Alpha + RGB) and a VF or Timecode generator effect in the filters, it seems to create a bug where the color I want for the viewfinder (REC) text shows up correctly pre-render, but changes to an arbitrary color after the render. For example, when I set the color to red, it becomes cyan after rendering. Anyone else experienced this problem or have a solution? Thanks.

  • Lagging pixels on video while editing and after render-export. -How do I fix this? the original media is Crystal clear.

    Hello guys,
I am trying to edit some gameplay footage I captured using "AverMedia Game Capture HD", but whenever I import the media (at 1080i),
There are pixels that hang on the video player, mostly when the camera is turning left to right,
and on occasion, some random color blurs that bloom out of nowhere.
I attached a image so you can see what it looks like:
Here is what the video looks like after it is rendered and exported.
Along with the visual pixels, it also displays horizontal lines. (possibly due to my export settings, I was in a hurry just to test it)
Both the capture device and final cut pro x are upgraded to the latest firmware/updates.
I am using HD AC Component cables (blue green red) both for in and out connections between ps3 - cap device - tv.
The capture device automatically records files to mpeg-4.
The resolution of the tv, and recorded footage is in 1080i (1920 × 1080) and the quality looks great when I play it through quick time or any other media players:
Any tips or info? I have been using Final Cut pro  x since it was released. I am not a professional but I have used it for some very important jobs thorugout the year, but I am really stumped with this.
    Overview:
    -Media info
    File Type: mpeg-4
    Codec: H.264, AAC
    Dimensions: 1080i (1920 × 1080)
    Thankyou for the help!

Alright, lets get the good news out first:
Converting the file definitely fixed the pixel issues.
However, there where frequent "blips" of some frames that disturbed the video.
Also, the converter created a 5GB file that was originally around 300MB!!
It put a serious load on importing, rendering and transcode analysis, however the video played back smoothly, it would be perfect despite the large file size and frequent frame glitches.
This is all due to my lack of knowledge in video property conversion.
At this point, I feel that I am asking for too much, but I am really stumped...
I can try so many possibilities, but this would save me allot of time if I could get the help:
What converter settings should choose to have the optimal video file that,
    plays back smoothly,
    plays In HD,
    is compatible with fcp,
and can still stay moderately low on file size?
Here is the current info on the RAW video file:
Here are the previous settings I used to convert:
(slight improvemnt, but extremely high file size, and still has some frame glitches)
What should I have (not?) done with these options?
(I admit I chose these settings and had no Idea what the heck I was doing)
Again, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
    EDIT:
For reference, This is the new glitch issue I see:
    Here is the normal frame,
Here is the next frame when a glitch apears.
It seems to be replying a previous frame in the video.
Also, the horozontal lines do not show during live playback, only when the play head is paused, or when scrubbing.

  • Menu Position Changed after upgrade from Forms 10 to 11

    Hi,
I have upgraded an application from Forms 10 to 11g. Everything is ok apart from the position of the menus.
In Forms 10 the menus are attached to the window they relate to e.g. a pop up form has the menu (normally default&smartbar) displaying at the top of the pop up window but on the 11g version the same menu is displayed at the top of the screen looking like it is attached to the MDI window.
Is there any way of restoring the original functionality in 11g please.
    Thanks,
    Jim.

It sounds like this has nothing to do with the version, but rather your configuration. To attach the menu to the form window, set useSDI=yes. To attach it to the MDI window, set useSDI=no or leave it unset. This parameter can be set in formsweb.cfg or in the url used to run the form. For example:
    http://server/forms/frmservlet?form=myForm&otherparams=useSDI=yes
Note that useSDI is a Forms runtime parameter and not an applet parameter, so it is set through "otherparams".

  • Image position changed after deleting pages

    Hi
I have a book with on each page one image (no text). When I delete the first two pages, +-50% of my images or moved 6 mm to the right. This happens across the entire book and there is no logic or pattern in where this happens and where not.
Did somebody have the same experience or an explanation for this? The document was made with Indesign CS5.

You can try deleting the "media" folder on your iDisk and then republish.
    Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web /Sites.
Open your "website" folder and delete the media file.
Also, make sure you have deleted any audio files that may be hidden in your iWeb page. Sometimes its better to delete the page and start a new one when things go wrong.

  • Video Looks Horrible after Render?

I am working in a HDV 60i timeline with a mix of 60i and 30f codecs. The video looks great until I render. Once the video is rendered it gets really pixelated and ugly. I usually just export without rendering but when I tried it with this video it took about 15 hours and the final result looked exactly like it does after I render. I checked the render settings and they all looked they they are set to the highest quality. When I dump my render files in the timeline the video goes back to looking good? What the heck?!! Please help!!!! I am using FCP 6.06 Thanks.
    Jeremy

So that is what is weird. The long export looks great now, (after exporting the smaller pieces, and then bringing the smaller pieces back and exporting the long one) The video looks great, plays great in both quicktime and final cut pro. The file doesn't appear to be corrupted...But after 4 different attempts at compressing to Mpeg2,(on different computers) the video crashes while in compressor. This is the error I am getting. 3x Crash Down. Sorry I kind of combined by two problems, but the problems were essentially the same. Here is a link to my other post. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2363793&tstart=0
This is my normal workflow I use all the time. I have heard your not supposed to use HDV and change to Apple Pro Res, but the HDV workflow works 98% of the time. I tried a couple different settings with the Apple Pro Res, but it seems degrade the image quality quite a bit. I am about to try the Adobe Media Encoder.
Thanks again for your time. Jeremy.

why does adobe premier elements render my video everytime i change something in it even when i have lots more of the video to edit? other editing software only seems to render at the start then lets you edit until your ready to save at the end.  Constant rendering means its almost impossible to edit anything. Please help.

    H TheGamer
What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running? It will not influence my answer but will give me information in case I need to get into version specifics to detail my answer further.
Timeline rendering is a preview matter. It does not fix anything, but it is your window of opportunity to catch of problem sooner than latter. If the Timeline rendering indicator displays orange (11 or higher) for the line above the Timeline content, that is the project telling you that you are not getting the best possible preview of the playback of that content in the Edit area monitor. And, every time you edit a file, you have altered the file from the time before. So, if you want to see the best possible for what you now have, you Timeline render. This is particularly helpful when you are dealing with titles, effects, transitions, and non native formats. You cannot turn off the Timeline render indicator system, at least none that I have ever found nor seen reported. You can do selective Timeline rendering by having the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar span only the Timeline segment that you want Timeline rendered.
Consequently, you either ignore the Timeline render indicator system, move on in the project, and take your chances in the outcome or you Timeline render to get your best possible preview if the Timeline render indicator is suggesting that you do so.
I am not approving or disapproving of this project feature, just commenting on the what is.
This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. If you want to have your voice heard at Adobe, you might consider filing an Adobe Feature Request Bug Report Form.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Please consider.
    ATR
Add On...it is also possible to do Timeline rendering in a project, save close the project, and reopen it to find your previously "green" lined content now "orange", indicating unrendered. Yet the preview files generated originally by Timeline rendering are still existing in their hard drive save location. That is another story for other time.

  • E71 -- positioning server changed after F/W upgrad...

    Hi Nokians,
After I have upgraded E71's firmware to 200.21.118, the GPS positioning server address is changed from

Now my A-GPS not working. Previously, it took less than 1 minute to show my current position.

After fiddling around the GPS, and reading some posts here, my observation is as follows:-
If "assisted"  is off and indoor, satellite cannot be locked, so "Map" will not show "my position".
If "assisted" is off and indoor but close to door or window, satellite maybe (but take a long time) or may not be locked
If "assisted" is off and I'm driving, satellite locking is about 5 minutes - 10 minutes.
Conclusion: best enable "assisted". Downside is, there GPRS/data charges by operator.
GPS signals are too weak to make it through most buildings, so your observations are not surprising.
I believe Assisted GPS using cell information to query a backend server to determine your approximate
location very quickly and then that helps the GPS to lock on faster. I've observed that a pure an simple
Garmin GPS can take 10 minutes or longer for initial lock, which makes Assisted GPS really attractive,
    despite the additional cost.

  • Images that zoom and move jitter after render.

I have a bunch of pictures that I put to music. Some move across the screen or zoom slowly. The images move smoothly until I render them, then it's like the images are on some bumpy path or something. They jitter or bump as they move.
I have de-interlaced the images, have changed the image formats, added max flicker filter, ensured that my render settings were at 100%, have redone the motion, have doubled the resolution of the image file (just in case the pixels were conflicting or having trouble at that resolution), and have adjusted settings in the individual item's properties.
My project was supposed to be delivered to the customer yesterday, but there's no way I'm going to deliver a jittery video. The problem is also equally noticeable on the DVD I produced . I have never had this problem in the past. Like I say, when the render bar is green, everything is smooth. After render, bumpy motion. All the motion (for the most part) is perfectly horizontal or vertical.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same problem and was able to overcome it using a hack... this seems to be a bug in FCE.
I fixed it by rotating all my original images 90 degrees, replacing them in the timeline, rotating them back, then applying the zoom effects. They look perfect now. (Strange but true.)
Anyone with a better solution to this issue?

  • File size extremely high for .avi after render PE 9

I'm very new to PE and have tried to learn quick to redact info (faces etc) in .avi files for a government agency. I was able to open the file (in the trial version) and make the track matte by dragging the original file to the timeline then dragging it again to the video 2 timeline for the top layer, Question 1) is this the same as copy and paste or am I doubling the size already? Anyway, I was able to get the matte and everything done. Now, to Render and save... I choose computer/avi again (I need to keep it the same) and it took 1 hr 45 min to render it, that seemed long to me but maybe not... but mainly the file size was then 100,883 kb! Starting with a 29.7 kb file. This is what my question is about....could this be right? I can't use it if this is what I get. So, here are the particulars as I got G-spot and looked it up, as per serveral suggestions I saw here. I'm trying to understand the CODEC info but I fear I have a ways to go before I can figure out what I did wrong. (This is my test computer, the future work would be done on a newer, better computer).  The videos I would be working with come from various sources and will vary in length but will probably all be a kind of avi.

Thanks for you response and the information was very helpful. I was able to choose and output that gave me a good file size and I do want DV-AVI (I don't remember what I chose but it worked) but, I don't see an option for DV-AVI - is that a general DV output selection, because there seem to be numerous (AVCHD, NTSC, DV STANDARD) acronyms (I have tried to understand what each is) which do I want?

For the use of Track Matte Keying, with say a Gaussian Blur, or maybe Moasic Effect, if you have not altered the In & Out Points, then just dragging the Asset to both Video 1 and Video 2 will work fine. If you HAVE adjusted the In & Out Points, you can just click-drag from the Source Monitor, where you set those In & Out Points, and all is good. The Copy/Paste is just another way to do it.
As you are doing an "overlay," the output File Size will not be affected in any way. You are also limiting the Blur, or Effect on Video 2 to just the area "exposed" by the Track Matte, so the pixel count will not be altered.
As Steve points out, the output CODEC in the AVI will determine the output File Size. File Size is basically determined by the Timeline's Duration and by the Bit-Rate of the output file. With DV-AVI, that Bit-Rate is pretty well set, and your Timeline determines the Duration. At ~ 13GB/hour, a DV-AVI will be pretty large, but that is the nature of the beast. Also, and as Steve points out, if you are going to do additional editing, and will be Importing that file into a New Project, DV-AVI is about as good, as it gets.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, click on the Seeing tab, move the contrast slider all the way to the left, set the monitor to Black on White, and turn off the other checkboxes except for the one which controls access for assistive devices, the state of which doesn't matter.
