Video Scenes cannot be seen in Folder Location View

I recently purchased Adobe Premier Elements 10 and downloaded approximately 80 video clips from my HD camcorder into the Elements Organizer 10.  I wanted to customize the organization of the video files by creating new folders, which I was able to do successfully via the Folder Location view (in the Display options).  Additionally, unknown to me at the time the Auto Analyzer was run and it created "Video Scenes" (i.e., it splits the master file into multiple "scenes" based upon noted shooting information, etc.) from several of my video clips prior to moving the video files to the new file folders that I created.  I have confirmed via the Windows File Manager that all of the video files were moved as I intended.  However, in the Display - Folder Location View, none of the Video Scenes show up, and all of the Video clips (i.e., the ones that the Auto Analyzer didn't split up) are viewable.  (In the Thumbnail view, all files are still viewable.)  Is there a way to correct this?
Also, I've noted in the help manuals, etc. that the Auto Analyzer functions can be customized, but I did not see an option that would turn off the creation of Video Scenes.  Is there a way to do this without disabling the Auto Analyzer all together?
Thanks for any help offered.

Steve,
Thanks for your suggestion.  I had checked the Edit/Preferences/Media-Analysis options previously.  As I see them in Elements Organizer 10 they are: (1) analyze photos for people automatically, (2) analyze media for visual search automatically, (3) analyze media for smart tags automatically, (4) all filters, which includes face, audio, blur, brightness and contrast, motion, object motion, and shake, (5) run analyzer on system start up and (6) run analyzer only when system is in idle.  None of these items seem on point in order to stop the creation of Video Scenes.  Am I missing something, or are the options in Elements Organizer 10 different than prior versions.
Thanks,

  • Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location.

    Hi, guys
I cannot view delegate mailbox in Outlook. Following is my configure.
    I have two mailbox A-User and B-User
Login Outlook as A-User, click File -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access, add B-User and give Editor permission of Inbox.
Right click A-User's root inbox and select Properties -> Permission, select B-User and check "Folder visible".
Login Outlook as B-User on other computer, click File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings, select B-User and click Change -> More Settings -> Advanced, add A-User.
Now I can see a root A-User in Navigation Pane. But when I click it, it shows
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location."
    or
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found".
I searched some solutions from internet, but all of them don't work. Could you give some suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
First, please double check if you have given the right permission to B-User on your step 2.
In addition, we can try to give a higher permission to the B-user to check the result.
Please feel free to post back and let me know the result.

  • No files or folders shown in Organizer Folder Location view

    Hi!
I'm using Elements Organizer 8.0. If I select the Folder Location option from the Display menu, then I get a tree pane to left with a few folders in it: "Public", my user name, Computer, Network and Offline Media. The Computer folder in turn contains my drives. However, none of the folders can be expanded (no [+] icon) except for the mentioned Computer folder. So I can't reach any sub-folders. Furthermore, no files are ever displayed in the center pane, regardless of what folder is selected.
I have no filters set, I have tried enabling display of hidden files (not that this should matter) and can see no further options to change.
I did discover a sort-of partial workaround. If i right-click on a folder in the tree pane and select New Folder, then a new folder will be created in the file system, and the parent folder with suddenly be endowed with a [-] icon. If i click this to collapse the parent folder, and then click the [+] icon to expand it again, the I can suddenly see all other sub-folders in this folder. Of course, this is still worthless, since I still can't see any files.
Probably related to this is the fact that the Watch Folders feature is broken for me. I can select any folder (this is done through a standard Windows file selection box, so navigating through the file system to select the desired folder works fine) but it seems that the organizer never finds any files regardless of what folder I choose to watch.
    Any ideas?
    /Björn Stenborg

Display > Folder Location view will only show files (and their containing folders) if you've previously imported them into the Organizer, e.g. with File > Get Photos And Videos > From Files And Folders.  Have you imported any photos yet into your catalog?
Note also that Folder Location view is buggy and often shows the wrong contents of folders, and with large catalogs (tens of thousands of photos), it is intolerably slow.
Regarding File > Watch Folders, it only imports photos that are added, deleted, or modified after you've started watching a folder.

  • PSE 7 Organizer Folder Location View Unacceptably Slow

I see there are a lot of intelligent people posting here, so I thought I'd take a stab at explaining my problem.  I recently upgraded to PSE 7 from PSE 6 because of the well documented PSE 6 bug that causes raw files to appear as broken thumbnails.  Now that I am working on PSE 7 I have run into the problem referenced above: trying to operate in Folder Location View in organizer is painfully slow.  Any attempt to switch to Folder Location View from Thumbnail view or attempting to filter anything (by star rating, for example) triggers a long wait - I would say 5-7 minutes - before the action is completed.  I don't have the problem in Thumbnail View, but the problem is I rely on the folder hierarchy for my workflow and having 20,000 plus thumbnails not organized by folder does not help me at all.  I am extremely frustrated!
I have already repaired and optimized.  From what I've read, rebuilding the thumbnail cache doesn't appear to help either.  Does anyone have any ideas for me?  I really need to be able to use the Folder Location View.  It's bad enough that I may have to go back to PSE 6 and live with the broken raw thumbnails.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

A number of people have reported tha Folder Location view is very slow, in both PSE 6 and PSE 7.  (You're lucky it is fast for you in in PSE6.) In my catalog (13,000 files), PSE 7 takes 30 seconds to switch from Thumbnail view to Folder Location view; but once it's open, it's reasonably zippy.   No one has posted any workarounds here.
Beware that many people have reported problems with Folder Location view in PSE 6 and 7 showing the wrong contents of folders.   This often happens when you try to search by keyword tags, but some have reported it happening even with no searches applied.
In general, Adobe seems to treat Folder Location view as the stupid stepchild of the Organizer -- it's buggy, it's slow, and it isn't documented very well. The Organizer's sweet spot is organizing with keywords, albums, stacks, versions sets, dates, captions and other metadata.

  • Elements 9 organizer, folder location view & copying images

I am using photoshop elements 9.0.3 under windows 7.
In the "folder location" view, when I click on a folder I see pictures that belong to a completely different folder.
How can I solve this problem?
Also, is it possible to copy an image from one folder to another from within the organizer?

If you always move images within Organizer you will have no problems.
Problems only arise when users move images behind Organizers back e.g. using Explorer or Finder.
Remember to select the Display button and thumbnail view to search the entire catalog otherwise your search will be limited to a single folder which matches the folder on your OS.

  • Why do files disappear from Display Folder Location?

I have various folders with about 20 to 100 files in each one. I click on one of the pictures then choose Editor, Full Edit. I make a simple edit and save the file back to the same folder and name and close the file in the Editor. I return to the Organizer and display Folder Location. All the files that were in that folder are not displayed, just the one I edited. I tried various combinations of Show All Files, Add Unmanaged Files to Catalog, and Get Photos and Videos and none of them bring back the missing files. This happens repeatedly in any folder. The only thing that worked the first time this happened was to delete the entire catalog and recreate it. This however, is a lot of work. If I look at the folder from the OS point of view (XP Pro SP3) the files are in fact there and all pictures are fine. But they are not visible to the Oraganizer.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    Alfred

  • PSE7 Problem with Organizer - Folder Location Display

I keep encountering a wierd error and don't know why or how it is happening.  I like to use this view I file pictures on my hard this way and this matches those files and then I can tag, make an album, etc.  Sometimes the pictures that are in a file (on my hard drive) will for some reason (or after some event) not show up in the Folder Locations display with the same file name.  Make sense?   They will show in the file name below the folder they should be in and so on.  For example I have 400 pictures from a recent trip to Trinidad in a Trinidad 2009 folder on my hard drive.  When I had put these in to PSE7, they showed up in the catalog view in Trinidad 2009 because I made it a watch folder.  Now they show up in another folder, the one below it.  It is like every folder shifted down.  I understand they are still in the same location on my hard drive.  There seems to be some bug or error in PSE7 organizer.  Can anyone help with this?

Folder Location view is quite buggy; see this FAQ:

  • Fix "Folder Location" in Display

I have a 2011 iMac that I transfered all my files to from a PC.  I had to buy Photoshop Elements 8.0 in order to transfer my catalogue of 10,000 images with all the tags and albums etc into the Organizer for the mac.  I understand that once images are imported into Organizer, all file management (moving images or folders that contain images) has to occur through Organizer (unlike Picasa) otherwise the catalogue can't locate the images.
If you move images in the Finder you must then search in Organizer to Relocate the image and Reconnect them with the catalogue.  I found this out the hard way. I think that Photoshop ought to correct this to be able to move and have the catalogue find the images regardless how they are moved as file management should be able to occur either way.  However, I know that you can do file management of images within Organizer and the Catalogue by chosing Folder Location view in the Display pull down on the upper right corner.  However, there is a glitch.  After I move images from one file or Folder Location to another in the Display, the Display does not accurately show where the new images are located.  I find that some images are shown where I moved them and some in the adjacent folder.  Yet, if I check the actual location in Finder they ARE moved to the designated folder.  IE the Folder Location view does not reflect where the images actually are after you move them.  This is a big problem if you have to do file management through Organizer because Folder location doesn't accurately show where images are.
Finally, I've played with Picasa and while I like the option for viewing ALL images chronologically like Photoshop, I also like the idea of being able to view images by the folder location.  Folder Location in Photoshop could do this, but it only displays the lowest folder of image, rather than being able to click on a folder in Folder Location and show all the images in that folder by sub folders.
Any body else have this problem with images not correctly shown where they are in Folder Location under Display or want the option how to view images?

  • PSE 7 confusion about folder location, help needed

Here's some background: I'm using PhotoShop Elements 7 on Win XP.  I have an external firewire hard drive I use for overflow/backups.  Originally, this showed up as a K: drive on my system.
I added a RAID controller and two more drives to stripe as a single drive for temp space rendering movies.  This ended up as a K: drive and the external moved to L:  However, when I did this there were some pictures from my catalog that I had on the external drive.  I have used File > reconnect missing files to handle the moves, but PSE is still confused (very).
PSE has started to mix up the RAID (K:) and external (L:) content.  If I move a set of pictures (e.g. a folder of them) onto the external drive (L:) via drag and drop in the folder location view, the folder will show up empty on the L: heirarchy, but will show up as a gray folder icon in the K: RAID drive hierarchy.  If I open up windows explorer, the RAID drive will appear empty.  In other cases (I'm not sure when/how yet), pictures physically end up on the RAID drive itself instead of the external.  I have uninstalled both the external drive and the RAID drive and reinstalled them both, but they are still getting confused in the folder view by PSE.  I've also tried moving content outside of PSE and just reconnecting missing files, but it still wants to put things under the K: RAID drive instead of the external L:.
I've searched everywhere I can think of for a description of what gray folder icons in the folder location view means and can find none.  I'm not sure how to convince PSE that there's nothing on the RAID K: drive and it shouldn't try to connect the two.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Thank you!  I ran psedbtool and the output shows the catalog has the wrong drive letter for the L: drive.
Is there a way to make PSE forget about the K: and L: drives that it is so confused about so that it can relearn of their existence?  If I use the drive letter reassignment to fix PSE, it will break other apps that are now dependent on the current drive letter assignments.  I've tried removing all files from the L: drive, but it's still remembered as part of the catalog.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • How do I relink my video files when the source files are located in an AVCHD folder structure?

I am using FCP X 10.1.1 and I was completely done with editing a simple multicam video for a choir track and when I was exporting it it failed. I re-opened FCPX and found that there are several missing files, when I had just been working with them just a second ago! I know about relinking video files, but when I try to locate the source files (knowing where they are), the browser will not let me select ACHD file contents to get at the video files. Also, I cannot open the Library file for my project either.
    Here is a snap shot:

If it comes down to it, use clip wrap to carve your .mov files out of the SD. I am confused tho - if you were originally able to import all you needed and still have the original media ? Why can't you do it again to add other clips? To "get in" to your Library, control click on it>show paskage... but do NOT MOVE anything only copy.
Perhaps soeone else can shed light on this?

After using time machine my users folder cannot be seen, but all information is still intact. Where did it go?

This is a new feature or bug if you want to call it that in OS X 10.9.3
Until Apple fixes this, here is a temporary work around.
Copy and paste the following command in the Terminal and then hit Enter, followed by your password.
    sudo ln -s /Users /Users\ Folder; ln -s /Users/Shared /Users/Shared\ Folder
This will put a link to the Users folder called "Users Folder" on your Hard Drive and a link to the Shared folder called "Shared Folder" inside of the Users folder.

  • Mail:Cannot erase messages from Deleted Messages folder located on my mac

    Hi,
I recently ran a script to discover that I have hundreds of thousands of messages sitting in the Deleted Messages folder located on my mac. I tried to erase them but no luck, no error messages of any kind but the messages are still there. Can anyone help with me with this as these unwanted messages are taking up a lot of space. I have run a disk verify just to check permissions etc and all is ok.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Many thanks for you reply. Yes it looked like the deleted messages from an old exchange account I had had were sitting in a folder on my mac and this was visible in the sidebar. However it was not simply called deleted messages it was named deleted messages (xxx xxx) where xxx xxxx was the name of the old mailbox. So when I went to mailbox to erase deleted messages this folder was not picked up. So I moved everything in the folder to the trash folder (took a long time) and then selected the option to erase trash on quitting. It took hours and hours when I quit mail but I left it running overnight and now the folder is empty and mail is functioning ok. Thanks again for your help

  • How do I change the iTunes media folder Location and save it?

I have a seagate drive where I store my music and have it shared as "M".  Each time iTunes starts up, it defaults back to C:\...... and if there is a device connnected, it transfers the purchases from that device to this directory.
I need to manually go in and change the location each time iTunes starts.  Is there a way to save this location as the default?  I am on Version 10.
    thanks in advance

If iTunes starts up and it can't get access to the location that you have declared as the media folder it will revert to the default subfolder of the library folder. Any downloads or rips will be put in that location until you correct the media folder location via Edit > Preferences > Advanced.
Either make absolutely certain the drive is active and available before starting iTunes or place the library folder on the other drive as well (see this post)  so that iTunes either opens normally or warns that it cannot find the library. Note if this is a networked drive rather than locally connected USB/SATA there may be noticeable performance issues with the latter solution.

  • Can you "lock" iTunes Media Folder location?

One of the things I hate about iTunes is that I keep my music collection on an external hard drive with mirrored RAID array. Songs I buy are automatically transferred onto that drive. But sometimes, the hard drive will go offline, for whatever reason - a power issue, bumped by someone, whatever. When that does happen, iTunes doesn't give you a warning, it just defaults to the internal Music folders. Until you realize that the hard drive is offline, every CD you rip, every song you buy will go straight to the iTunes folder on the Mac. When you finally reconnect that hard drive, and redirect iTunes to the iTunes Media Folder on it, you're hopelessly lost, with your music collection distributed between the two drives.
First off, WHY can't iTunes notify you that it can't find the designated iTunes Media Folder? It'll notify you about just about every single other bloody thing that happens in the computer?
Second, is there a way to LOCK the iTunes Media Folder onto another drive, such that iTunes can't find the iTunes folder on the Mac HD?
Third, is there an easy way to scan the library on my Mac HD and on the external HD to find out which files are missing from the external HD and need to be manually added to the library?
    ks in advance!
    Than

Hi Jonathan, it annoyed the heck out of me too. Answers to your questions:
No idea, it’s probably trying to be “helpful”.
I don’t believe you can lock iTunes the way you want, but you CAN stop iTunes from running WITHOUT THE DRIVE YOU WANT I got sick of manually transferring songs when this happened to me too. In my case my library is on a network server (NAS). I wrote the following AppleScript to deal with the situation and it will work for any externally connected drive, network, USB, FireWire etc.
So to explain the script: I’m asking Terminal to list the directory contents of the iTunes Library folder on the external drive. If it can, it makes iTunes start. If it can’t (the “on error” bit), it beeps at you and displays a dialog box that tells you it cannot start. I then save the script as an App, and give it the same icon as iTunes has, but a different name (‘iTunes Custom Launcher” for example). Then I remove iTunes from the Dock and put my custom launcher in the Dock instead. Doing this means the only odd thing you will see is that when the launcher starts iTunes, there will seem to be two iTunes icons in the Dock, but only while iTunes is running.
    — Start of script
    tell application "Terminal"
              try
do shell script "ls \"/Volumes/Music/iTunes Library\""
                        tell application "iTunes" to activate
              on error
      beep
display alert "iTunes will not start until the Network Music Library is available"
              end try
    end tell
    tell application "Terminal" to quit
    quit
    — End of script
In order to use the script, you will need to replace the folder location of the iTunes Library. If you’re not familiar with Terminal, see what Finder says the name of the Disk (or network share) is when it is connected. Assuming your iTunes Library is called “iTunes Library”, the format of the third line of the script is:
do shell script “ls \"/Volumes/<disk or share name>/<folder>/<sub-folder…>iTunes Library\"”
If, like me, your iTunes Library folder is at the root of the external drive, you only need to replace <disk or share name> with the drive name and forget about the <folder>/<sub-folder…> bit. If you’re not sure what to do to the script let me know and we can do more Q&A to see exactly what you need to make the script look like.
    So, the main steps:
Open the AppleScript Editor and copy/paste the script into the blank window
Save the script as “iTunes Custom Launcher” and choose to save it as an Application.
Copy/Paste the app into your Applications folder using Finder
To give the new app the same icon as iTunes has (optional), in the Applications folder, select iTunes and copy it. Do a “Get Info" on your new app and select the little icon in the top-left of the info screen so it has a blue outline, then do command-V (paste).
Remove iTunes from the Dock and add your new app.
For your question 3, I would just go into the music folders of whoever logs on to your mac and manually move whatever folders for artists/albums/songs are there; it should be the last time
Let me know if you need more help

  • Cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found cs4

I am using Encore CS4  and I get the error "cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found"
Having searched the forums I can not find a solution for when the project folder has been deleted.
Can someone tell me the solution to this issue.

If you deleted the Encore directory, you cannot fix this.  You'll have to start over.
    Encore creates this folder structure:
    Root or some other Folder
    MyProject.ncor (the Encore project FILE)
    MyProject (the Encore project directory)
Other Folders for the Encore project (e.g. Cache, Sources)
You can get the "the folder for this project cannot be found"  in various ways.
There have been two recent threads in which the user, by accident or on purpose, changed the folder location or name.  You can fix this by renaming the folder correctly or moving it back (or moving the Encore project file to the correct relative position).
Folder was renamed.  If you name the folder "MyProjectX" Instead of "MyProject," the project file "MyProject.ncor" can't find it.
Encore project file was moved - or Encore directories were moved.  If you move "MyProject.ncor" to some other directory or drive (including inside the folder "MyProject"), it can't find the directory - it is looking one directory level below where the project file is located.
If you delete the Encore project directories, the stuff that Encore uses that projects menus, motion, etc, are gone.  While many of its instructions are inside the project file itself, many are not.  Some of the deleted material might be recreated (e.g. trying to fake Encore into accepting a copy of a menu), but most cannot.
