I understand that your desktop computer's screen is displaying a green image when you watch videos on Facebook, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Since you mentioned that the green screen appears after streaming Internet videos, I recommend following the steps in this document on How to Turn off Hardware Acceleration. This should help remove the appearance of a green screen when watching videos.
Additionally, I also suggest ensuring that your computer's Java and Adobe Flash software is up to date.

When trying to watch videos on YouTube and other sites the video screen is completely green.
When trying to watch videos on various websites including YouTube, the video screen is completely green. I can hear the audio, but no visual. Well, First of all, some of my .PDF files started to disappear without any reason, a year or so ago, a couple of months ago the "message" started to come up everytime I tried to shut it down or re start it. Then, the YouTube videos went "green" on Internet Explorer, and then on Google Chrome too! A couple of weeks ago any video saved on my Laptop, started to go "black", the same pattern, only audio could be heard, no images. It took a little while, I mean, after turning on my Laptop, 30 minutes or 2 hours later, tops, the YT videos would turn green,after watching 2 to 6 six videos on YT. and black, on Windows Media, at the same time, whenever I tried to play any video.
Then I tried the link that I posted before. And my Laptop is getting slower after that, the display has "blinked", 1 or 2 times this past week. Internet Explorer "crashes", and I have to re-open my "session" to see my previous visited sites. I think this last part, is normal, since everytime IE fails and you have to "close the program", and then open it again, it doesn't scare me.
What does scare me is to have a virus, or mallware. I have an antivirus, McAfee Security Center. And, I don't know what else to say.
I use my laptop to record music, I have 2 programs for that, and 1 or 2 more that came with a guitar pedal and a keyboard, and I don't know if I should have just one, instead of 2 programs (DAWs) installed on my laptop, does that affect my Laptop?

I didn't find any solutions to this, but I was wondering if someone here knows how to fix this problem?
When I watch streaming clips in Firefox with Quicktime, my video screen turns green, but the sound still continues. This happens if my mouse moves over the video screen, if other applications cover it for a second or if I switch between tabs.

Save and/or quit your applications & doucuments
Go to Applications>Utilities Folder
Click Disk Utility
Click the Volumn (HD) that you want to check.
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button. (Don't worry about verifying)
At the bottom of window when the repairs have finished, you will see the “most important thing”:
Permission Repairs Complete
The previliges have been repaired or completed on the selected volumn.
Restart your computer (Optional).
Go to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility and select your volume and then select Repair Permissions.
**Same directions are also in the OS Mac Help Menu.**

My take on it is to removing/disallowing cookie setting on YouTube for now, till '''whoever '''finally gets it fixed.
I hope they'll send a email telling all of us when it's fixed. Heaven knows they have our addresses...

This effect usually comes from mixing Swing and AWT components.
Make sure you are using javax.swing.JPanel instead of java.awt.Panel etc. -
Youtube videos becoming green and still image?
I started watching some videos and after 10 minutes, what i could see was a green still image... Thought that this was not something that i should not worry about, but today it happened again! Now, i cannot watch any video.

Scrambled video screen from podcasts
The video screen on my 2-month old iPod Nano is scrambled on podcasts such as "Photoshop TV" podcast. Still pictures and type are good and everything else works perfectly. All searches to this point have been unsuccessful in solving this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, didn't realize my Nano didn't support video. So that answers my question. Will need to invest in an iPod that does. Thanks so much for the help. --glemac

When uploading videos to iWeb, the video screen gets cut off at the top. It only happens in Firefox, but not in Safari. Has anybody else had this problem?

If you don't have an iPhone, grab the browser handle and drag it to the left to reduce the width to see how it responds to mobile devices' fixed width browsers .
This will play in all modern browsers and on mobile devices. You can use QuickTime Pro for the OGG or OGV conversion or get the freeware Miro Video Converter...

Creating video screen ads 384 x 240 px quality problem in FCP
I am a creating video ads for my client for an outdoor event which will be shown on a big video screen.
I contacted the Audio visual company who are supplying the equipment and techy guys for the event and they told me to create the ads at 384 x 240 pixels in Quicktime.
So i have created a custom sequence in FCP of 384 x 240 pixels with a pixel aspect ratio of (PAL- CCIR 601 720X576), field dom is lower (even) and qt settings as DV-PAL but when I bring in any graphics or film or motion graphics to that sequence and render it the quality is awful...any ideas?Well, part of the reason your quality has been awful is because you're using DV compression settings on your sequence.
Create a 1080i ProRes sequence. Bring all your elements into that. Create a 16x10 matte in photoshop and overlay it on top of your sequence, to avoid losing anything when you make your final crop.
Edit your sequence. Remove the matte. Export a self contained QT at the sequence settings.
Open that file in Compressor. Select your desired video settings. In the geometry tab, resize to "Custom", enter 384x240, maintain aspect ration by cropping.

Hi, was wondering if someone could help me pls! I am doing a title sequence for a charity cabaret I was involved in organising, had it filmed and now Im editing it together. Im doing it up like the Saturday Night Live titles (big fan!) I've used footage I have taken from around London of theatres etc. mucked around with them in photoshop freezeframed them taken out the original theatre signs and replaced them with either pictures or strobed video footage. Im doing one of them in Picadilly Circus, bit fiddly, I want to try and mimic the video screen effect that you get. What I mean is the small lines that make up a video screen, so it looks vaguely connected to the picture. I;ve tried some filiters, but none of them look good. Halftone kind of works but its in black and white, I want to keep it in colour. I have tried doing a texture screen but the shapes dont seem to work at all. I hope Ive explained myself well! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Just came up with an idea - take the stripes generator, rotate it, put a compound blur on it and feed that with the image you want to do the line-screen with, then put a threshold on that and voilá!

I have downloaded movies from iTunes and synced to my iPad2 but my video screen is black and i can't find the movies...help?
If the Videos app appears to be frozen then try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it'snot frozen but you films aren't showing then have you got an age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ? -
When trying to import music files I get an error message Thea says "importer reported a generic error". Also when editing video, screen views look great but when I transfer to PC or flash drive video quality is very poor. Any suggestions?

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 (presumed 64 bit).....
1. Music files and error message...are these music files from iTunes? If so, convert them to .wav in iTunes to convert them to wav version, and then import the .wav version into Premiere Elements 13 project using Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the wav version to the Soundtrack.

2. How you set up the project and the export settings that you select greatly influence your end product result.
a. What are the properties of the source media?
b. What project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set to match the properties of the source media.
(If you do not know, please tell us what you see for the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio - even
if the fields look grayed out.)
c. For your export...Publish+Share/Computer/and then what? And what preset? Did you use the default settings of the preset or did you
customize the export settings of the preset under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook - Blank video screen
I was running the Skype Windows desktop client on an HP pavillion dv6 notebook. About a week ago the main video screen (the other caller) went black. It has been that way ever since. The people at the other end are having no problems and can be seen on other machines.
Skype software version is 6.22.81.104

ThanksWith it connecting to an external monitor and working just fine, it would indicate an issue with either the lcd or the video cable. Usually, a completely black screen is the lcd panel itself. But you said you had it replaced...
Go ahead and boot up with the external monitor. Once you are booted up, press Win+P. That should bring up the shortcut for your projector screens. Select Laptop only. Could be a setting just didn't get back to normal.
If that doesn't work, I would take it back to whoever replaced it. Did they test it before giving it back to you? Did it work at all after having the screen replaced? I do this kind of work all the time and would lay 10 to 1 odds still that it is the lcd panel. If it hasn't worked at all, I would have them double check to make sure everything plugged back in correctly, done that a time or two... If they are positive the screen is good, change out the cable. In my experience, one of those has to be the issue.
