Video set to stop on last frame appears lighter than last frame

I've got a video set to "stop on the last frame" using the technique described here:

Works great. But whenever I do this, there is a slight darkening when the multi-state object appears at the end. To create the image for the multi-state objects, I opened the video in Photoshop, grabbed the last frame, and saved it as a JPEG.
Anyone have any ideas? I've tried saving the end image as a PNG, lots of other workarounds, but the problem persists. I've noticed this in other publications I've downloaded also, so I think the problem is widespread.

I have problems with a video that stops at the last frame
and this is brighter than the last frame of the video
has made several tests, the jpg I'm using, as the last picture I have exported from photoshop, is exact.
I tried to change the brightness but not exact and change is very, very bright.

Please confirm that it is currently IMPOSSIBLE to edit audio or video in Premiere Pro 5.5 to measurements LESS THAN 1 frame.
It appears in versions prior to CS5.0 one could select AUDIO UNITS by right clicking timecode display to edit audio (and presumably
video for that matter) to SAMPLE RATE accuracy.
Despite a long and involved support phone call including taking control of our computer by remote, it appears this is NOT currently
possible.
If this is indeed so - we will have to adjust our work flow to edit audio OUTSIDE of Premiere.

YES - I've seen the "right click Time Code display and switch to audio units timeline solution - yet audio units do NOT appear as an option for me...hence all of this drama.
ADOBE - do I have a munged install? Any other advice? We keep a clean system (Mac Pro 10.6.11 or whatever is last iteration of SL). I guess I could try installing into a new User and see if it behaves any differently.
Sigh...we bailed on FCP7 after trying FCPX and also passed on going to Avid MC. Hope PP is reliable for our work flow...again thx for all help.

Sound set to stop but keeps playing

I am creating a progressive download movie for the web using
the flv. In a new Flash doc, I have an imported .mov on one layer,
that was created and exported from a different Flash doc. I have an
mp3 on the layer above the imported .mov. The movie plays fine, but
the sound will not stop, except when I preview it using
Control/"Play".
I used the Properties panel to set the Start/Loop in frame
one of the Sound layer and Stop/Loop in the last frame on that
layer where I want it to stop, I publish the new swf movie and its
flv. I open just the new swf in a browser to check it and all looks
good except the sound won't stop.
Where is my problem? The imported movie shows only on one
frame in the new fla file, so I am setting the Stop for the sound
layer on the last frame based on the original fla that the imported
move was created in.

Learned that if I put the stop in the top layer, it stops.
why is that?

Pdf's created in Illustrator appear lighter in Adobe Reader

I've been using Illustrator for a few years for web design and print graphics, fliers etc. I have noticed that when i save a design as a pdf in illustrator then open the pdf in adobe reader the colours all appear lighter than they should be and print lighter aswell. Is this common? I've been wondering for a while but never figured it out.

When you Knockout the colour it should cut a hole in the shapes below it -
Start by creating a New Black Swatch
Then Apply that swatch to your black frame
Below I have turned off the Black Separation, and you can see that it has knocked a hole right through the items below - I've also shown you the Attributes Panel - you can see in the Spearations panel to that the black is still 100%
Below is what happens when you have Black set to Overprint
YOu can clearly see that the values are added up - You now have a 284% ink coverage here - so anywhere the black goes over the green here the values are added together and that gives you a different shade of black, because the Black is PRINTING OVER the other colours and adding, as ink is transparent, not opaque.
If the black frame goes off into the white it will be 100% for whatever is touching the white, and then 284% when hitting the green here, so you get two distinct shades of black.

Hi Melissa - thanks for your interest. Here's the first frame, the second frame and the tween frame. I don't understand why the tween is changing the position of the object in frame 2, was expecting it to just fade from one frame to the next.

Assuming you have other content, you could:
set the Print Object On property to be last page.
anchor it to the main content that repeats on every page, so this frame only prints after the other one is done
Assign a format trigger where you make it display only if current page is equal to total number of pages
create a trailer and move the frame there

Make video stop video when leaving a frame = problem as not all frames have this video

I know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

all assets, as far as possible, should be removed from the display list and readied for gc when no longer in use. that includes flvplayback instances.
and yes, when you return to a frame or situation where you create an flvplayback instance, it will be created. the removedfromstage event doesn't do anything except detect when something is removed from the stage:

that's it.
for a typical beginner to intermediate coder, flv will be on one frame of the main timeline.   adding those lines of code will ensure that when you move from a frame that contains flv (and that code), any video playing in flv will be stopped so you won't hear it when you navigate to another frame.

Strange frames appear in exported video

Okay, I have a DV NTSC sequence in FCP 6.0 with some 320x240 dv clips and some 640x480 qt files made from iphoto slideshows. When I export>quicktime movie>current settings, the resulting file has some random frames with bright colors in the 'tv snow' pattern with a trace of the intended image in there. When I repeat, the anomalous frames appear in the same locations. Any ideas, fellas?

let me add: the sequence is 320x240. In trying to work around, I can export to quicktime conversion without the strange frames appearing. Also, I've reimported the qt version back into a FCP timeline and tried to ripple delete them out, but FCP quits repeatedly when I scroll onto the weird frames (6 times).

ICaht doesn't quit, but video and audio stops and disconnects

I have a brand new iMac G5 and so does my Mom. We both have the iSight camera imbedded in the iMac, both have high speed cable internet but cannot iChat for more than a few minutes without the video/audio chat stopping.
This is what connection doctor says on my end:

First, I would try connecting your computer directly to the cable modem, and then test your iChat video connections from that configuration.
Your router and access point are pretty old, I think, so I would be sure you have the latest firmware in each of them.
After updating or verifying that you have the latest firmware, look to enable a UPnP setting in the Linksys router (if it is available). I would then try a video conference connection while bypassing the wireless access point by cable-connecting your computer directly to the Linksys router. If this works, you can try adding back the wireless connection.
Most of the time, the best way to troubleshoot a problem is to try to eliminate as many causes as possible, and then proceed from there. Otherwise, a lot of time can be wasted barking up the wrong tree.

I have windows XP. I have a DVD that I was told was made in MOV. I have tried and tried to down load quicktime to play it, but all I can get is audio. It brings up the opening picture of the video then it stops there and plays the audio fine.

It should play in QuickTime.
Try dragging the file from the mounted DVD to the desktop (it will copy). It may playback properly.
