Dear Sir,
I want to connect a ccd camera to my pc.then I want to display film from ccd on monitor(by labview).
I want this control on my film:
-brightness
-save frame on harddisk
-rotate the film or frame
can I use of labview?
If I can,please help me.
faithfully yours

Hello Yusuf,
I have a PXI system with a PXI-1411 and IMAQ Vision and NI-IMAQ. I'm using this card to acquire the video signal from a DVD.I'll like to develop an application with LV able to check frame by frame if my received signal is arriving in good conditions. This application should be able to detect if there's some frozen picture effect or if the DVD unit shows are incorrect pictures. I have no idea how to launch this project and if it can be done. Could you give me some idea or tell me the link of somewhere to find this? By the way, I have a PXI-8176. Thank you very much.

  • Cost effective video signal analysis

Is it possible to get LabView to perform analysis on a video signal (NTSC) and if so, what devices (DAQ cards, video capture cards, etc.) do I need to look at. We are looking at options to improve our video quality testing at our factory and are looking for a cost effective soultion. There are video signal analyzers out there, but I would like a PC based soultion since the factory is beginning to use LabView for other testing. Any advice would be helpful.

Troy. National Instruments has an entire line of machine vision and image processing hardware and software. If you're processing an NTSC signal, I recommend an NI-1411 color frame grabber. From there, you can use the NI-Vision software for LabVIEW to analyze your NTSC signal. Along with NI-Vision for LabVIEW, I recommend using a product called Vision Builder, which is a prototyping environment that lets you play with most of the Vision fuctions before even openning LabVIEW. Then once you're done prototyping, Vision Builder will create your LabVIEW VI for you!
Please respond if you have any further questions.

  • Can I use two Time Capsules? one as an extension of my laptop (for music and video storage) and the other one to back up everything from the laptop and  Time Capsule (for music and videos)

Can I use two Time Capsules? one as an extension of my laptop (for music and video storage) and the other one to back up everything from the laptop and  Time Capsule (for music and videos)

Not via Time Machine.   It cannot back up from a network location.
The 3rd-party apps CarbonCopyCloner and ChronoSync may be workable alternatives.
EDIT:  And, if you're going to do that, you could back up from the Time Capsule to a USB drive connected to the TC's USB port.  Second TC not required.

  • Recieve signals from WLAN NIC, decode and produce video signal from VGA or Composite Video out

i am trying to broadcast some MPEG4 video messages over a WLAN and display them on TVs and LCDs. i need to develope an interface between the wireless NIC and the display modoule. this interface has to be able to collect the information, decode the information to reproduce a video signal on a VGA socket or a normal TV composite video socket. does anyone has any ideas how i can achieve this?? please help me!! thank you!

    Hi,
Assuming that you are trying to use LabVIEW to achieve this,  I believe that it will be simplest if your wireless NIC exposes an ActiveX interface that LabVIEW can use.

  • Help!  I'm literally due to have a baby today and need to sort out video footage storage

I just went to check that the battery is charged on the camera and got a notice saying the hard drive is full!.!!!!!!!!
I have previously imported the video onto our Desktop Mac ( which is currently in storage)  and think I have a back up too, but I'm worried about whether the data, once imported is usable in other formats.  Ie if we change program or operating system later.
I have purchased an external harddrive and dropped and dragged to copy the files from the camera itself, but when done that way, can't seem to play the files directly from that drive using either Imovie or Quicktime.  My Mac Pro is full and  I need to clear some more room on the camera but I'm terrified to delete precious footage of our other baby.
I'm no techno, I know I'm using a Sony HDD camera, and IMovie 09 version 8.0.6.
    HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Please!

It is best to keep a copy of the entire contents of the camera. You need all the folders, even the empty ones. If you have this, you can import the footage into iMovie or Final Cut later without losing anything,
An easy way to do this is to go to your iMovie import screen. Toward the bottom, it should have an option to Create Camera Archive. This will transfer all the contents of the camera to your hard drive, and can be imported later.
If this footage is important to you, I would recommend that you also back it up to a second hard drive.
Once you have it stored and backed up, it is safe to delete the files from your camera.
To answer your other question, if you have already imported the AVCHD files to iMovie, then yes you will have them, and yes you can use them in other programs. On import, they are converted to Apple Intermediate Codec, which certainly any Apple video editing program can read. I don't know if they would be easily readable on Windows. When they are converted to Apple Intermediate Codec, they get 6 to 10 times larger than the files on the camera. This is because AVCHD is a highly compressed codec, and not suitable for editing.
So, yes, you have the AIC copy of your events in iMovie, and that is probably enough, but it is good practice to keep the raw AVCHD files. This lets you keep a copy in a compressed form, and gives you a copy that is exactly as you took it on the camera, before any processing.
I wish you the best with your new baby!

  • External storage for early 08 mac pro for video storage and editing

    Early 08 Mac Pro mod 3.1, 2x Intel 2.8 Quad Core Processors. Bus speed 1.6 Ghz.  10 GB DDR2 FB-Dimm 800 MHz. USB2, Firewire 400, 800. ATI Radeon HD 2600 PCIe 256 mbVRAM.  Currently running OS 10.6.8.
I use machine for photo and video storage and editing. I tried using 2x 3TB and 2x1TB HDD internally ( 8 TB total).  All are Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200.  Experienced constant spinning wheel and lockup requiring manual shutdown.  I had upgraded to Lion and to Maverick.  Did not help so I did a clean install of primary with  Snow Leopard and did not install past 10.6.8.  Works now if I don’t exceed 3.5 TB internally.  I also discovered that my Disk Permissions experienced voluminous corruption that could not be repaired if I installed  Java for Mac OS 10.6 Update 17 as suggested each time I check for software updates.
I need to be able to have a total of about six TBs available in my system for storage and editing of video via Imovie. I don’t know the maximum of HDD storage that can be used in the four internal bays without causing lockup and corruption. If 3.5 TB is about the max, then I would like to have some ability to have external storage via firewire 800 if that would facility fast enough transfer for either video edition and or playback. I don’t know if thunderbolt can be installed via PCI card. I could add a SATA PCI card.  However, I assume that would cause the same problem as experienced with 8 TBs installed internally in the four bays.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.

Do you mean 2x2TB and 2x3TB for a total internal capacity of 10TBs?  Are you running Snow Leopard or something else? Actually, I took it to an authorized repair facility who ran checks and said nothing is wrong with the hardware.
Yes, I've got a total of to TB and I'm running Snow Leopard.  If your hardware checks out, that pretty much makes it a software problem,,,  reinstall the OS?
Does the High Point Technologies SATA3 PCIe connect to eternal drive enclosures or does it somehow connect to drives in some of your four internal bays?
Highpoint makes several RocketRAID 2700 series SATA3 controllers for Mac with external mini-SAS connectors, probably the cleanest/least expensive external hook-up. They also offer a combo internal/external board that (for marketing reasons) is listed as not working for internals with Mac Pro.  I believe that this is due to pressure from Apple (who apparently does some business with High Point Tech) but to the best of my knowledge it will. Technically, the "not supported" statement is true since all the internal bays are tied to the motherboard SATA 2 controller, but this can be remedied with a special cable.  HOWEVER... the boards are not bootable, so your system disk needs to be on the motherboard controller.
In truth, I bought one of their 8-port "internal only" boards designated for PC only and flashed it so the Mac Pro sees it as a 2722 board, so I have 8 internal ports.  I'm not recommending you do the same unless you're pretty geeky, but the 2721 would give you half-and-half or the 2722 would give you 8 external with no mods to the board.

i have reset my password and i dont have wifi to connect to my ipod and activate the steps in the i cloud process, now i want to know that will all my videos , photos and music will lost if i connect to my computer if storage and backup is in off mode

If iCloud Backup is set to Off in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, it means that your iPod will not automatically back up to iCloud, but will automatically back up to your computer when you sync.  The only way you would risk losing data is if you have never synced with iTunes before.  If that's the case, you have to take special precautions to avoid losing data, as outlined in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

  • Acquiring and buffering a video signal without additional software

    Hi
I have a generic USB capture box to which I am inputting an RCA video signal only (no sound).
Am I able to display the video feed in Labview and continuously buffer 30 seconds of it?
The idea is that when an input trigger fires the buffered video is saved and the live stream continues to save another 30 seconds. Once the trigger has been fired the video does not need to be displayed. When the recording is finished the program continues to monitor and wait for another input.
I have been told that activex will work, but I don't have any idea how to implement it.
I am using Labview 8.0 and as this is at University I don't have access to any labview plugins.
Any help will be very greatly appreciated.
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for using our discussion forums.  In
regards to your USB device, we do offer an NI IMAQ driver for USB which can be
    found here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030
.  Though it is not supported by our application
engineers, this will allow you to perform very basic image acquisition with
    your camera.
If you are able to use our Vision products in the future, a
simple way to save a buffered video in LabVIEW is just to build an array of
images until you reach 30 seconds (you can calculate this based on your
frames/sec rate).   In a case structure, we can subset the most
recent items into a sub array and save that to file depending on the data
type.  In regards to triggering, we can
software trigger this configuration using another case structure in the while
loop so that when it fires the “buffered” image video will be saved.
If you would like to use ActiveX you can learn more about
this application with LabVIEW at our Developer Zone tutorial http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/2983
.  I hope this gives you a good start.

Hi, a year ago I build my computer, a gaming PC, and everything works fine until a few days ago, exactly one year after the build, I was on mi pc when suddenly all freeze out, the video and the sound I just had to press the shutdown button, when I start the pc again it just start like 3 seconds and restart infinitely.
After a web search I start to think that the PSU was the problem but after more research looks like the motherboard was the problem so I take out the battery and put it back and start the pc.
The PC starts again, but another problem begin after that there is no video signal. The monitor doesn’t show any image I try to disconnect the Graphic card but nothing I press the button of the Motherboard to reset it but still the same I can’t solve the problem but there is more, after the PC start it stays ON like a minute and then restart again but the second time no restart anymore.
    Any suggestion ?

So now you can boot with no auto restart, but without display?
You tried with IGD (on-board display)?
Maybe try another monitor or cable,
and use only one RAM stick w/ different slots to boot.

  • I have an NI5911 high speed digitizer and would like to acquire a video signal from a CCD using it. Does anyone know if this is possible without buying any more hardware please? If it is, how would I go about it?

The only thing I succeeded in finding on the NI site was about using a different high-speed digitizer in tandem with an IMAQ card but I was hoping not to have to buy an IMAQ card as it means I may as well not have got the NI5911 (a while ago) in the first place. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can certainly acquire video signals with the 5911. The only tricky part is that the 5911 does not have any video triggering options. That means that you will have to either find a way to provide your own trigger based on the video signal (that's where the IMAQ board comes into play) or you can just take a lot of data and keep only the data you need once it is in software. For instance, you could take one large record and then use software analysis to determine where the frame sync occurs. Hopefully this was helpful.

I had to update the bios 23.7 to 25.6 because the graphics card was no video signal.
I have a i5 2500k sandy but with the new bios overclocking has me down and is more unstable.
If I go back to the old bios chance that I will have the video signal Asus Matrix 7970?

  • Need to split video signal to both HDMI and VGA

I am hosting an event and the venue has given me a really tough challenge. I need to send a video signal from my Macbook Pro 15"(the highest spec, latest model) to a projector that only accepts VGA and to an A/V system that only accepts HDMI(this A/V system broadcasts the signal to several flatscreen TVs throughout the venue). Here are my two ideas, can anyone tell me if this will fail and if so, are there any other solutions?
Idea 1: Use a mini-display to VGA adapter, split the VGA cable with one VGA cable going to the projector, and the other VGA cable going through a VGA to HDMI adapter to the A/V system
Idea 2: Use a mini-display to HDMI adapter, split the HDMI cable with one HDMI cable going to the A/V system and the other going through an HDMI to VGA adapter to the projector
Idea 3: Rent another projector that accepts HDMI, use a mini-display to HDMI adapter and split the HDMI cable, with one going to the projector and the other to the A/V system(this is the most expensive option and I want to avoid this if possible)
The event is tomorrow evening, and I need to buy these cables today if possible. Would love to hear any ideas, thanks!!!

Yes.  All video and audio outputs are always active.

  • No video signal and wierd noises

I put together a new system with the 865pe neo 2 about a week and a half ago. Had to clear the CMOS to get a boot initially but since then the system has worked fine (except for an ongoing problem with com1..).
Last night I loaded UT2003 demo and played it for about 45 minutes then I powered down. This morning I started to get alerts from core centre that the 3.3v was down around 2.9-2.84. Then my video signal started cutting out (screen goes blank for a second) then finally the system froze. I rebooted and checked the bios (I'm using standard boot with no overclocking) As the day went on the system became more and more difficult to boot. At first I could get to the OS but it would quickly freeze. Then I could get into the BIOS but then the screen pixelated and then froze. On occasion the system would show 4 red lights and give me the 2 tone alarm. (Good God I hope its not the CPU) At this time I have no video signal at all. I tried another monitor..no go. I am using a good power supply (Enermax 365P-ve). Now the system POSTs okay but refuses to go any further (still no video though)
Do you think my ATI is toast? How could it just stop working? Does the loss of video card have such an effect on the boot up?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am at my wits end.
    prouja

No I haven't tried a different power supply. All my other computers are PIII and use ~300W supplies.
I did try the ATI video card in an old computer and it didn't give my any problems so now I am thinking maybe the RAM or as you said the power supply.
Is there any way to test the output of the power supply? I have a digital multitester but I'm not great with it.
Could RAM issues cause the problems I encountered?
As an update the computer now makes 2 long and then 8 short beeps at startup and then hangs at keyboard initialization (as shown by the 4 leds at the back) Of course this started after I tried clearing the CMOS (power off).

  • 890FXA-GD65 with AMD Phenom II 1100T and Asus Radeon 6950 No Video Signal

I just did a new computer build with an MSI 890FXA-GD65 motherboard AMD Phenom II 1100T processor and Asus Radeon 6950 graphic card.
    I have a SATA hard drive and optical drive. Memory is Corsair XMS3 4GB PC10666 DDR3 1333MHz 4096MB.
When I turn the system on I have no video signal so I can't see bios. I tried taking everything apart and rebuilding and still nothing.
The power is on to the motherboard and graphic card. The motherboard has 2 LED indicators on.
I am a newbie with the new computer build and need some help. I accidentally pressed the clear CMOS while the power was on. I have no idea if this is going to mess up the motherboard.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Mike

I could not locate this on this specific motherboard. The one issue is that there is a CLR CMOS button on the back and I pressed this when power was on .
I know there is another way to clear the cmos with the jumpers but I didnt do that .
Anyway motherboard still powers up. I took it to a tech to check it out. Don't know anything as of yet. Thanks.
