Video sizes provided by the device not supported.

Hey guys,
I am trying to use FME to run a live broadcast of my desktop
PC on www.justin.tv. I have an 8800GT with forced s-video out on my
desktop, running to an HP ExpressCard TV Tuner on my HP Laptop. The
TV tuner lights up when it is plugged in, and I can receive video
via Windows Media Center (while browsing for TV signals, satellite
then svideo input) so I know that part is working. I'm trying to
use FME to pick up this input (like a capture card) from my desktop
and broadcast it on justin.tv. However, it seems like no matter
what I do, it always reports "unexpected problem encountered" and
says "video sizes provided by the device not supported."
Do I just have to bite the bullet and get a real capture
card, since this TV tuner is probably incompatible? I heard
something about FME needing raw video for input, rather than
something encoded, and I think this tuner encodes into MPEG
something or other automatically. Could someone suggest an
affordable and easy to use capture card for someone with limited
technical knowledge that will work flawlessly with FME?
Thanks for your time!

Then your Canon video camera is not really HD to the core
definition. It seems Canon (and everyone else for that matter),
tweak their statistics in order to say something to help boost
sales-and it works for them.
Use the DV option and you can stream live to the best of
your little canon's ability. The only sizes that pop up on your
select a size list, are the sizes that that camera can handle.
3.0-don't hold your breath thinking that 3.0 is going to
solve too many problems. Remember, it's still a free platform, and
Adobe or anyone else-will only give so much away for free. The
trick is to buy the $4,500 version and the World is yours.
Anyway, good luck Monty!
Happy Holidays,

• "This device not supported" msg when connecting camera

I just tried plugging in my (four year old) Canon Digital Elph via the USB connector (30 pin male to USB female) and got the "device not supported" msg on my iPad2
Are only recent cameras supported?

The camera connector I'm using is one I bought some years back to connect a camera to an iPod Photo. It looks to be the same as the current one, however.
Could this be a connector issue rather than a camera issue?
Yes, it's a connector issue. The connector you have doesn't work with the iPad, as you've discovered. It doesn't work with any iOS device. You need the iPad Camera Connector Kit. It has two different dongles, one to connect a USB cable, the other, an SD card.

• Canon HV30 Returns Video Format provided by capture device is not supported by this application

I am trying to stream our church services using Flash Media Live Encoder 3 using firewire and a Canon HV30 Camera.
I am not understanding how to use my firewire based high def Canon HV30 Camera as the video source device for FLME 3 ? When I hook everything up I get the error "Video Format provided by capture device is not supported by this application". The spec sheet says the HV10 should work.
Is there a work around for this problem.
In Him,
JMb <><

The error is coming because the camera might be giving HDV format, which is mpeg-2 encoded. FMLE needs raw format to work with. Please configure the camera to give DV out to work with FMLE.

• How can I get my stereo to play music videos from my Ipod Nano? It comes up with the message "This device not supported". Strangely my Iphone IS recognised. The stereo, Ipod, and Iphone are less than 4 months old. Any suggestions welcome!

How do I get my Ipod to play music videos through my theatre system? I keep getting the message "This device not supported". My theatre system WILL recognise my Iphone however. The theatre system, Ipod, and Iphone are all less than 4 months old. Any suggestions welcome!

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

• My samsung says video out from i pad is not supported. i am connecting with apple dock using hdmi. I do get the audio

my samsung says video out from i pad is not supported. i am connecting with apple dock using hdmi. I do get the audio any suggestions?

Jeffrey-
If the HDMI input to the Samsung is not compatible, does it have a VGA or composite input? I have both the HDMI and VGA adapters for the iPad, which work with the small Vizio HDTV I tried. I understand a composite video adapter is also available.

• When I load pages with video contents like m3u8 I can't see the content from firefox because it says "video format or MIME type is not supporte"

When I open a link like this:
http://video.gazzetta.it/puntata-milan-kaka-fa-fuori-faraone/4494065a-13b0-11e3-a11e-38d7c867cc00
I can't see the video content and I get this error message: video format or MIME type is not supported
I have adobe flash updated
I tried to reset firefox
I have vlc installed
I can correctly see this link with internet explorer. This is a PARADOX!
Can somebody help me?

I see that message when the Flash plugin is disabled.
If the Flash plugin is enabled or set to click-to-play then a Flash player plays the video.
Otherwise a video tag is created with a link to an m3u8 stream that Firefox apparently doesn't support.
You can try to disable all other plugins that deal with media files (start with VLC) to see if that helps.

• After updating ipad 2 to IOS 5.1 composite video cable says "this accessory is not supported by iPad"

Now that I have updated my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s to 5.1, when I connect my composite video cable to watch netflix or other video on my TV I get the message that the accessory is not supported. The audio goes through fine, but the video only plays on the device. Anyone else run into this? Ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks.

I have the same problem. Even worst, I use my iPod touch at the gym cause our bikes and threadmills have iPod connection (and screen of course) so I used watch TV shows from my iPad. Last week, thought the treadmill connector on the machine was broken... from what I see, it's the TV out on the iPad that is not working anymore.
Once home, I used my composite cable, well just like you got a message : "not supported" tried on iPad and Ipod Touch.
THANKS APPLE WITH YOUR STUPID UPDATES!!!!
But now seems your Video cables won't be selling much if not working hey?
And reboot has no effect, don't waste your time.

• Burning- "Device Not supported..." Using LaCie & Toast 7

HEy all,
I am getting the message, "Device Not Supported...." with option to cancel when trying to burn to a LaCie. I'm on a FPimac with DVD Stud 3. I have Toast 7 but trying to burn directly from Pro.
Any work arounds...
THanks,
Al

A snag as I only have Toast Lite - a stripped down version ...and will only let me burn two items or folders ....
There was only 1 Lay file.
It won't let me choose the option you mentioned UPG?
But it did let me choose "DVD-Video" however I got an error after pressing burn - "error -39"
Other than upgrading my Toast Lite to Toast can't I use my Full Toast Version on my MBpro to burn a DVD authored in DVDPro via my network?
THanks,
Al

iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer.
It couldn't be much easier than that as you don't actually have to do anything more than normal.
This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
USB syncing is far faster than Bluetooth.

• Error 7 (windows error 126). Have tried to re-install itunes but failed, twice. some end message about "mobile device not supported".

Error 7 (Windows error 126). I have tried to re-install itunes twice now, and each time " mobile device not supported" appears and the installation can not finish.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
Do you have any iOS devices? If the link above doesn't completely fix your library I could talk you through installing iTunes without Apple Moble Device Support for now which would at least enable you to open iTunes.

• Updated iphone4 to ios5 - get Device not supported for icloud - worked fine for other iphone4

Updated iphone4 to ios5 - get "Device Not Supported" message - worked fine for other iphone4 & ipad. Why is this iphone "not qualified for icloud"?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

• Vimeo video unable to connect. Error message says "video format or mime type is not supported.

Hi I am using a template with a full screen video landing page but i am unable to get Vimeo to video to connect. Error message says "video format or mime type is not supported".
I have uploaded successfully to Vimeo however when published to catalyst and previewed the error message "video format or mime type is not supported." is displayed.
Is this a format issue? I should point out I am using a template from Museworld as I am not a designer or graphic artist just another noob.@

Hi,
This seems to be a Firefox error:

Kindly check if you are able to view the video on Vimeo.
Also, try using another browser.
