Video software

hi i just got my ibook clamshell and i want to edit movies because i got a mac just for videos but without spending $1099 on a macbook so i got a refurbished ibook g3 clamshell but the bad thing is that i don't have any movie editing programs on it. I don't mind it i spend some money but i don't want a $100 movie program (maybe around $50). I really need some help because i want my laptop to be worth it.

Is it too late to change your mind? No offense but you made some bad decisions in here by trying to save money. First of all, I don't know of any video editing software compatible on a Mac for under 100 bucks. And I don't what would run on a G3
If you had spent more money on a new iMac it would have come bundled with iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto ... and you would be able to produce really nice quality videos fairly quickly
Or, you could have picked up a "new" older model PC (we recently bought an XP based system with DVD burner, faster processor, lots of RAM etc for 400 bucks) and pick up a PC based editing software, some of which is pretty cheap, especially second hand. Personally, I would have gone for the iMac with the Life suite
Sorry, I didn't come into the Mac game until the last generation of G4s so I'm not sure what your system will run. Good luck

  • Need advice on video software.

    Need advice on video software.
I currently use adobe elements 3 and have done so for a few years now with no problems. my os is XP and my system is a couple of years old, but we do have a brand new win7 machine in the house.
I am currently look at Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 Ultra OR Adobe Premiere Elements 8. Reviews for both softwares seem very good BUT, when I dig deeper into user reviews instead of editor reviews do I find problems.
Major problems with program crashing all over the place, at start up etc, and it is still not getting along with any win7 machine? Major problems with drivers. Honestly, I do not want to have to jump through dozens of hoops to get any software to run. After I pay for it, it should run, period.
Has anyone else here used both softwares and can you give an honest opinion of each?
I am also asking these same questions on the cyberlink site.
I would like to upgrade my video software to take advantage of the new features that are coming out but I really don't want a big headache trying to run one or the other. To be fair, when I bought adobe elements 3 I had also bought pinnacle, which has gathered dust since my first week with it, which is why elements was purchased. That was money wasted and I do not wish to repeat this. I would like to go with Premiere Elements 8 but remain very unsure.

If your newer machine is Win7 64-bit, it might be worth waiting for SP-1 to be issued, and then hope that 64-bit drivers are fully included. The 64-bit drivers now seem t be an issue at this point, and that will affect any NLE program.
Also, and regardless of which particular program you choose, optimizing your computer, the OS, the hardware, and the resources management, will go a very long way to insuring success. Few programs can tax a computer, as an NLE can - any NLE. Video and Audio editing will stress your system, like almost nothing else can, except for heavy-duty CAD, or 3D work, though those are usually done only on specialized, optimized computers, designed just for those applications.
Not the specific advice that you seek, but it's the best that I can do.
    Good luck,

  • Using i-pod video software on nano to get video on Nano

How do i get ipod video software without buying ipod video, if so, can i use this software on my nano?

    Err.. you can't.
The video decoder is not software based, all the playback relies on a Broadcom video processing chip that is only present on the new 5G iPods. The software for iPod video is with the iPod Updaters that are on Apple's website.
Again, the iPod nano cannot play video.

  • Where can I obtain uninstalled video software

I did a big clean up of my laptop and uninstalled a number of programs. By accident, I think that I uninstalled the video software which came with the laptop. I then emptied the trash. So I think that is has gone completely
Can anyone tell me where I can find the software?
    There are two issues:
    1. I cannot play video; and
    2. When I connect my laptop by HDMI cable to the TV, there is no image on the tv (it was working fine last week!)
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

  • Adobe CC Video Software on MacBook Pro 13" i5

    I have the standard MacBook Pro 13" with an Intel i5 2.5GHz, 4GB RAM, a 500GB HDD and Intel HD Graphics 4000 512MB. It's running OS X 10.8.5
I have yet to have any big editing projects to do on it and I would like to know how it will hold up when running the CC video editing software.
The software the I use mostly is: Premiere, After Effects and SpeedGrade.
Will my MacBook be able to handle it?
I will be upgrading the RAM on my MacBook to 16GB here in the next couple of months. My main concern is the processor for long term use for editing. I know the RAM needs upgraded. I would really like to be able to edit on here smoothly, without any issues.
Will the 16GB RAM make a big difference in it's ability to handle the software?
    Thanks!

  • Need help getting photo/video software?

I just got a Sony DSC-H55 camera.  With having a nicer camera now I want to do more with it.  My old camera I was very linited on what it could do.  This new one shoot at 1080P, has nice zoom, and 14mp.
I am looking for some software that I can use for editing pictures and video.
    These are my laptop specs.

Stink I can not afford to build nice systems right now.
I go to a lot of car meets and do a lot of our door events.  That is what my camera is used for most.  When I shoot video it will be a lot at the track.
I am thinking of either Roxio 2011, PhotoPlus X3/Movie Plus X3 Bundle, or Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8.  I just do not want to open the software and find out my laptop can not handle it.
Adobe is first on my list.  I want to make sure my laptop can handle it.  I just wish I could find a trail verson.

  • Video software to use with ARD?

Is there any software that can worked with the video camera on a MacBook that I can use with ARD to monitor the kids from my desk?

None that I know of that works with ARD. If you want a "baby monitor", I'd suggest rather than trying to use the built-in camera in a MacBook (awkward to try and place and orient to get you a useful view), you get an IP webcam and software such as SecuritySpy. SecuritySpy has both a Dashboard widget and a screensaver module that can show "live" updates from the camera.

  • Need recommendation for training video software and Flash

Can the experts here please recommend some product to record a computer screen session that then imports well into Flash?
I want to build training videos that record the screen session and my voice and am looking for a software product that can do this.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Jay

Thanks for the link but this did not meet our requirement and I hope that
some expert here in this forum can help. There are hundreds of
solutions out there but most are just screen session recorders without voice.
A couple have a feature to add voice seperately.  What we need is similar to
an actual video recording including voice where both go hand in hand with any
    seprate integration.
A video camera would not be practical, but certainly there must be some software
that would provide similar recording, both the screen session and sound?
This woule be a recording of the screen session with a person speaking into a microphone.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks again,
    Jay

  • New video software...?

I'd like to upgrade from iMovie HD to something that works as easy but handles HD video better. I had Final Cut Pro for a while but gave up because after using iMovie, I was completely confused and I have no patience. So generally, what is the best video editing software out there for random home videos and making funny little clips/movies?? Is iMovie 6 still for sale, or do you have to buy iMovie 8? I heard 8 was missing a ton of stuff.

iMovie 7 (part of iLife 08) will not even install on any G4 Mac.
You can still find iLife 06 (iMovie 6) with a little Google searching. Makes sure to find a vendor you trust.
Since FCP was too much for you maybe you should look at Final Cut Express. Older version are still for sale at reduced prices.

  • Video software cause Mac Pro to lose power

My Mac Pro has begun doing something very strange. On Mac OSX Snow Leopord or Lion, when using video conversion software (HandBrake or MacX Video Covnerter) My Mac Pro acts like it los power from the outlet as my UPS connected via USB starts alarming. If I let the software continue to run my Mac shuts down. It never did this before and I recently did a clean install of both OS versions and the software.I have tried disconneting the UPS and my Mac stills shuts down. I have also reinstalled the two video conversion softwares with the latest version and get the same results.
I could use some serious help here.

...and the overheading may be caused by dust.  So when was the last time you blew the dust out?
Also, would go get the same overloading problem if you bypassed the UPS?

  • Video Software for 8310

Is there a software that can be downloaded to be able to use video on the 8310? Are what needs to happen where I can have video on my 8310 Blackberry Curve?

You can't have video on your curve until you upgrade to the 4.5 operating system although I wouldn't recommend downloading it until your carrier supports it.

  • Recovery password on cisco monitoring video software SW-VMS16

Hi, I'm having difficult for access to a video mon software. It is asking me for a password but don't remember what password is.
I uninstall the software, delete files from "Start/All programs", reboot the pc, re-install the software and it keeps asking me for a password.
Is there a way to recover the password for this software?

    Thank you, it works!
By the way, can you help me with this issue? :
I'm having a problem with the SW-VMS16 software that comes with the   PVC2300 Camera, I have loaded it a pc with Windows XP with no problem.  It works great can see all 5 Camers. But when I installed  it on a  laptop who runs Windows Vista, and try to open the main  console I get  an error message:
Can't properly load  database template. Please  re-install the system to solve the problem.
On the laptop disable the  windows firewall. Also found in another cisco forum that needs to go  logon as a Administrator, go to 'msconfig' and disable UAC.
I  uninstall the software, disable the UAC, reboot the laptop. After that  re-install the software and check that UAC is still turned off.
Then  try again to access the monitoring software and still continuos display  "Can't properly load database template. Please re-install the system".
I double  check on the 'msconfig' that UAC keep continuos disable. After those made steps, before to open the application I pressed right click and selected "Run as Administrator". Access the application and still can't access to it.
The only way  that user can see the cameras is using web browser. Please help, I made  several tests with no good results.
Thank you, I'll appreciate any kind of help.

  • Please help: When running video software, screen goes crazy

I am experiencing the following issue and have already taken my computer (under warranty) to the Genius Bar where they say nothing shows up as being wrong. They want to do further testing but I can't part with the laptop till the work week is over tomorrow night.
In the meantime, does anyone have a clue?
Here are videos of what's happening:

    http://s320.photobucket.com/albums/nn347/Rainbocarnage/?action=view&current=VID_ 20110616_115826.mp4
I comes on gradually with an all over "blink" and flicker before it freezes up and goes crazy. This only happens, so far, when I use a program called CatDV which is a footage cataloguing software I need at work.
Any ideas or suggestions? The genius bar did quick diagnostics and said everything passed and I updated all software/system updates already.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
