Video sorting on the ipod

quick question prob nothing that caa be done atleast i haven't figured a way to do it yet.
i got the 60 gig i pod video so lately been just encoding movies and just all sorts of video clips that i love to watch.
now that i'm back on 1.0 and everything is back to being great i've run into another problem with the video part of the ipod
i have around 73ish videos/movies on the ipod right now(not including the music videos i'm about to add) theres only 2 options for sorting the files out videos and music videos?!?!?!? i've tried tried and tried to sort them out by type/actors you name it nothing works for putting things into sub directories in the video part of the ipod anyone got any clue on how to sort it all out?
even tried to do the thing where do get info then options and change movie type but again there is only movies and music videos : /
just wonderin if not then i'll just live with having one giant list of video files

I made a movie playlist and it showed up in the video playlist. I did not do one with music videos though. What kind of video files are they?

  • Sorting in the iPod app

    Hi
In the iPod app for iPad, is it possible to sort "Album by Artist/Year" like you can in iTunes
    Thanks

In the iPod app for iPad, is it possible to sort "Album by Artist/Year" like you can in iTunes
Yes but you need to do it thru iTunes.
    Connect the ipad.
    Select it in iTunes.
On the Summary tab, tick *Manually manage music and videos*.
Select Music under the iPad name.
Click on the Artist column header until it shows *Album by Artist/Year*.
Go to the Summary tab and uncheck *Manually manage music and videos*.
iTunes menu File > Sync iPad.

  • Is it possible to EXPORT video films from the iPod to iTunes ?

EXPORTING FILES FROM IPOD TO ITUNES
Obviously, I know how to send files from iTunes to iPod.
But is it possible to do the opposite way ?
I have video files on my iPod that got lost on my hard drive.
I'd like to save them back to the hard drive (and import them back into iTunes).
Anyone out there knows if this is possible ?
    iPod 60Go (1.1.2) / iTunes (6.0.5)   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. One that I recall does videos as well is iPodCopy. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for it: iPodCopy

  • Video in to the ipod nano

Problems in transferring files with I Tunes
I’ve got a new Ipod Nano 3d edition,I'm using windows Vista, when I put the videos on it with I tunes the program says that the file format is not accepted. How can I do to transfer videos, what is the accepted format and how can I do to change it? Thanks

Hi, I'm having the same problem! Although I think it depends where you get your videos from. Go to a video that you want on your ipod, right click it and click convert selection for ipod/iphone , it takes a while but it should work. Although this worked for one of my videos on another that I'd downloaded from a different source, it converted it without sound :S.

  • Do PSP converted videos work for the ipod?

I heard that videos already converted for the PSP also work for the ipod. Is this true? Please i really need you to answer this jsut a simple yes or no if you can. Thxs.....

Um for the most part. The correct file format for the iPod is MP4. The PSP also uses this, but I think it can use some other formats too. There are a few programs out there that you can use to convert video files for both the PSP and iPod. If you are using a Mac I suggest ffmpegx. If you are using a PC, the go with the PSPvideo9. If you download these and either one of them is confusing to you, repost back here and I'll see if I can unconfuse you. Good luck!

  • Are Mpeg-4 videos supported on the ipod?

I thought that mp4 videos would be ok to play on the ipod, am I mistaken on this? I was not able to get it to transfer.
Here is a screenshot of the video details...

Thanks for any help you can provide.

MPEG-4 is the same as Mp4. Mp4 is a shortened version of the full name Motion Picture Experts Group-Layer 4.
Did you try right clicking on the video in iTunes and select "convert selection for iPod"?
    Where is this video from?
Did you use a software program to convert the video?
The file must meet the following specifications to play correctly.
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
    -or-
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.

  • Disabling the Video Camera on the IPOD Nano

Is there a way to disable to video Camera on the 5gen IPOD Nano? I like all of the other features of the 5gen, but need to have the ability to disable the camera.

After talking with a very helpful and polite customer support agent, I was informed that there is no way to disable the video camera on the 5th Generation Ipod Nano.
I was then given an address to provide feedback to apple, where a request can be made for inclusion of a disable feature in future software updates or 6th generation Ipod Nano's. This does not guarantee that an update will be provided, but it is the only available option, other than purchasing a 4th generation Ipod Nano.

  • 30 gig video, podcasts crash the ipod with iTunes 7.0.1

has anyone had their ipod crash only when playing podcasts? short podcasts are fine, but 50 minute or more, crash and restart the ipod. playing music is fine.

I have noticed two things with my 30 gig Video Ipod since i updated the software thru iTunes 7. First all my podcasts syncs that are happening with Album artwork are crashing the iPod and making it restart and the second is that it has also affected some songs albeit selectively. I tried turning the album artwork off and only once did one of the five podcasts i downloaded did work!
All the Podcasts or most of the ones that I had downloaded before iTunes 7 updater for iPod do tend to work but there is no pattern.
The reason I love apple and my iPod is the sheer magic of podcasts that are my companion and daily dose of caffeine en route to work...and I hate to get any glitches.
Can somebody walk through the step by step procedure to correct this or does one wait for another update from Apple?

  • Delete a video trailer from the ipod

    hi there boys and girls,
only had the ipod for a day, tried a test download film trailer which went onto the ipod ok, then deleted it from my libary list in itunes, ok......but its still on the ipod ?, i thouht it would automatically delete when conneceted onto my laptop....
have i missed something.....any ideas out there...
    many thanks,

It should delete just fine, I tried the King Kong trailer out of curiosity when it came out and removed it shortly afterwards. Silly question, did you change your iPod to sync manually by any chance?

  • Airplaying videos taken with the ipod touch recorder

Has anyone had trouble getting their videos taken with the touch to show on the TV using Airplay and an AppleTV? Everything else works (movies, utube, music, etc...) but not the videos I have recorded using the touch. Anyone know the fix?

Be sure to access the Camera Roll from the Photos app instead of from the Camera app.

  • I have a new iPod touch and an iPad all my videos work on the iPod, but not on the iPad.  What am I doing wrong when I syn with iTunes ?

iPad 2 does not show videos.  I just get a black screen when I hit the video app.  The videos show as being loaded when connected to iTunes.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • Is there a way to make a video playlist on the ipod touch itself

I have a iPod touch 5th gen with iOS 8.3 and for various reasons I cannot use a computer for a few days. I have a few home videos on my iPod and I was wondering if there was a way to make a video play list on your iPod itself without iTunes?

Not that I know of w/o iTunes

  • Videos played on the IPod now they don't

Does anyone know why an episode of Lost, that I downloaded from I Tunes would play on my I Pod and now it doesn't

    Rename them back.

  • The "converted by iTunes" Video Podcasts not appearing on the iPod

    Greetings,
I have downloaded some (old) video podcasts from the Music Store. As they were old files; I realised that they were not suitable for the iPod 5G, while trying to sync to the iPod. Then I converted them by using iTunes itself via 'convert selection for iPod' function.
Then, as it's a known case, an error message appeared on iTunes that not all the files were transferred to iPod, blah blah. (Because the unsuitable files will also remain on the iTunes, as well as the converted ones.)
So to get rid of that error message, I have chosen to delete those old and unsuitable files which I would not need anymore.
When I update my iPod, everything seems to be ok, no more warnings on the screen, etc - but the problem is that those converted 'suitable' files do not appear neither on the Video Podcasts folder, nor in another video folder on the iPod. But they are on the iTunes, within the right folder (videos -> podcasts), together with a newly published Video Podcast of the same series - which is the only one appearing on the iPod.
Is the only chance to view them changing their folders from 'podcasts' to e.g. 'movies' folder? Or is it just another bug of iPod G5 which really starts to disappoint me these days?
Does anybody experience a situation like this?
    Any ideas will be appreciated.
    »iMac G5|rev.B 2.0ghz 1.5gb-ram   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   »iPod shuffle|512mb »The iPod|5G 60gb software1.1(regret)

Reconverting the files normaly changes the original podcast meta-data. Download and use a meta-data modifier utility (like Lostify) to reinsert the proper tags.
