Video squished to the left after rendering

I've been working on some old dvd videos for work and when I render then the clip is pushed maybe 15 pixels to the left. These are the before and after rendering screens:
I read on some other discussions that this from selecting the wrong sequence, but I always let Premiere choose the sequence for me by adding the video into the project and clicking "New Sequence From Clip". I didn't change any sequence settings and I didn't choose a sequence when I created the new project.
Video info:
841 x 480 (1.0)
H.264, AAC
I don't know if it makes a difference, but when I put the clip into the project, Premiere automatically changes the PAR to make it to 710 x 480 (1.1852)
I have Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.2 (072 (MC: 264587)) and I just barely updated it about an hour ago.
I'm on a 15" Macbook Pro w/ Retina display
     -OS x 10.8.4 (12e55)
     -2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
     -8 GB 1600MHz
     -GeForce GT 650m 1GB
Thanks for checking this page out. Let me know what else I can add.

I tried making a new sequence with the widescreen 48khz DV - NTSC and the video had bars on both sides:
I actually wasn't having any problems with videos from this DVD until I reinstalled Premiere Pro today. Would it be worth uninstalling, running the Adobe cleaner, and reinstalling again?

  • Clip moves to the side after rendering

    Hello,
my clip jumps one "spot" (thin space left open) to the left after I render it. When I just play it through it works fine.
The minute I do a change to the clip (whatever it might be), it goes back to normal.
How do I change my clip so that it fills up the screen. "Interpret Footage" options doesn't change anything. I guess there is something in my setting that should be changes, how do I go about it at this stage (Edited)?
    Thanks in advance info: (636 x 480) (cs6)
Pic with a matte so you can clearly see the empty space:

'Tis true. I remembered this after trying to export a 2k+ unorthodox file in MPEG2. You can change the 'Preview File Format' of a sequence when you make a new sequence by changing the editing mode to Desktop(windows) or Custom(osx) but even then you'll have to pic the right AVI or QUICKTIME codec... so... if you can preview without rendering you should be good and when you're exporting don't check the "Use Previews" button.

  • After Effects change size of the Movie after rendering mp4

    Hi,
I created a new composition and wanted to render it as an mp4 file. The composition has a size of 1500px x 1000px, after rendering, the mp4 file has a size of 750px x 576px - everthing is distorted. I don't know what happened, because everything was prechecked because the size matters.
Is someone know what happend and what I can do, to prevent such a mistake? (it is my first After Effects project ever - I'm a nube)
    Thank you Dan

mp4 is a compression format based on specific blocks of pixels and the legal sizes are set by the codec, there is nothing you can do except pick another codec if you must have 1500 X 1000 as a final size. Why did you pick that size? If you must deliver an mp4 then you should be working with standard sizes for your compositions and they should be square pixels... Always square pixels for mp4.

  • Disabling playing from the beginning after rendering

I'm in Premiere Pro 5.5 and whenever I render anything, PP automatically plays the entire program from the beginning, even if I was just rendering a short clip. I've poked around in preferences but can find no way to disable this. Any ideas?
Thanks again to everyone here. You've made switching from FCP a breeze.

The General Tab under preferences: uncheck "Play work area after
    rendering previews."

  • ITunes Store layout is messed up - everything is squished to the left hand side

This is a repost of a problem someone else had and I'm seeing the same problem.  I hoping to get an answer for both of us.
So thats what my itunes store is looking like, it's been like that for a month probably now. I've tried to find an answer to how to fix it but I couldn't find one anywhere so now I'm asking myself. All the links are blue, everything is pushed to the left, it looks like it was made in a word document really. Please help.

    This solved my problem.

  • After FlashPlayer 11.04, a website with videos on, like YOUTUBE opens a seperated process and the videos appear in the left top corner and can't be moved.

After updating to a version after FlashPlayer 11.02 when opening a window with flash videos on, next to the process of Firefox in the Task Bar appears a new process with the Flash Player icon and the video window is placed in the top left corner and can't be moved. If there are more then one video in that page when clicking that Flash Player icon you can see a list of all the videos.
Using FlashPlayer 11.02 this problem doesn't happen and I used this solution for some time, but now If I use that version I get a black window with an error message about security reasons, but if I click it it plays without any problem. Although in some websites that need Flash it says it needs at least version 10, but I have 11.02 but doesn't recognize it and demands to be upgraded.
This is all very weird because only happens in my laptop, I have a desktop with the exact same windows and Firefx version and this doesn't happen. I already tried to uninstall Firefox completly and even deleteing all plugins and extensions and the problem remains.
Uninstalling Flash player also solves this, but then I'm asked to update the the Flash player. This problems doesn't happen in Chrome or IExplorer 10:

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

  • Is it possible to shut down the computer after rendering?

Since it often takes very long to render high quality files, is it possible to have a post-render action of turning off my computer? Such as an auto shut down after or at least quit after effects. I often times leave my computer on overnight to finish the rendering, but I am sure that is not the best thing for the computer. I own a Mac OS X version 10 and am running Leopard. I also own Adobe After Effects CS4. Please Help me. Thanks!

  • Pinned object appearing pushed to the left after upgrade to Muse 7.1

I just opened my site that I had created in Muse v. 6 right after I upgraded to v. 7.1 and a box that I had pinned to the top of my page now appears shoved to the far left when I view the page in preview mode or in a broswer, even though in design mode it sits where it is supposed to. Other items on that page that were pinned are ok and appear where they should. Why would this happen and how can I rectify the situation? Thanks.

Thanks for sending me your site. While I am still working on figuring out what went wrong in the update to v 7.1, I have a quick workaround for you that seems to fix the problem.
In your group with your logo, text boxes, and rectangle, do the following:
         Select the group.
Click inside the rectangle, but not over the text frames or logo image (this is another group with just the rectangle).
Right click that second, inside group with just the rectangle and click "Ungroup."
You should now have only the rectangle selected.
In general, the best form is to have at least 2 objects in a group. It looks like each one of your text frames and your logo image is in its own separate group inside of the main group. You menu area should still work of course either way, and I will write up a bug on this.

  • No Sound at the beginning after rendering (Adobe Media Encorder)

At the beginning like 30 sec. there is always no sound whats the problem?

oh i forgot to say that i have windows xp and my browser is

  • Sound problems after rendering

    Hi,
Being that I have Premiere Pro 7.0, I am not too sure how  much help I will get, but i was hoping that someone here could still  help if all possible. Here is my problem. I thought I start practicing  developing video lessons for 3d software. These lessons would be created  using a screen captureing program, called camStudio. In my first  lesson, my first try doing the entire lesson as one video, I found out  that the video file size exceeded CamStudio's exporter file size  allowance when trying to save out to Microsoft DV 1 AVI file. I then  decided to split the lesson into 2, but final compose it as one video in  Premiere Pro 7.0. Since the lesson was broken up into 2 screen captured  videos, I thought it would make things easier if each screen captured  video was in its own simulation. So, in other words,  I have created 2  simulations in one project, and then I had nested both of them into the  3rd simulation. For example, simulation 1 was called lesson1 part a, and  simulation 2 was named lesson1 part b, and the third simulation was  called lesson1. Once I had everything setup, at first everything was  working fine, meaing I could see the video and hear the sound tracks.  However, after I choose to render the sequence using Microsoft DV11 AVI,  I do not get any sound, and yet I made sure that the exporter exports  both the video and audio. Furthermore, after rendering the project,  going back to Premiere Pro's project, and pressing play, I get the  error.... Disk Write Error: Verify drive connection, available disk  space and disk  access privileges
However, when I go inside  simulation 1 or simulation 2, I still hear their sound tracks. One other  thing I have noticed is that I get the sound back in the project if I  move the orginal simulations into a new simulation. By doing that, I am  then able to recover the project,. but if I choose to render again, the  same process happens all over again.
    Does anyone Have  any ideas?
    My Specs
    Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0
    Windows  XP SP3
    CPU 3.0GHz processor
    RAM 512MB

so are you saying that the problem could be comming from how I did my recording with CamStudio? Not to change the subject, but you see, I am kind of lost. My goal is to provide some free video lessons. I was thinking my final encoded videos will be in DivX or XVid. CamStudio does offer users to compress to thise types of format. Howeveer, due to owning a very cheap microphone, those kinds that sit on your desktop, is causing me to have the biggest problem, since there is a good amount of background hissing noise in my recordings. So, I have been using both CamStudio for the screen capturing and Audacity to do the voice recording. Then in Audacity, I try my best of tuning up the voice and removing the background hissing noise. Once that is finished, I then need some sort of video editing software that allows me to put the video and my voice recodring together as well as splicing areas of the lesson where I stutter or slurr my speach a bit, which can be easily fixed in Adobe Premire Pro. However,  my version of Premiere does not offer XVid or DivX encoding. I was thinking of using VirtualDub, but I really do not want to have 5 programs, just so that I can fix all of my problems, not to mention I have no $$$$ left. So is there a free better way?

  • Blacks wrong after rendering

    hi,
i have a problem with the blacks after rendering in any codec and size. the source files are all very good 720 oder 1080`s. what could that be ? see picture attached.
    thanks for response on this.

"Creative Cloud with all the current updates" is not enough information; please report the exact version number displayed in the About Premiere Pro dialog. If it turns out that you're on 7.1, they you might be hitting the bug discussed in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5826830#5826830.
I'm not clear on what exactly the problem is. Is it that the video appears squeezed in the horizontal dimension during playback? Or did the sequence's dimensions actually get changed?
What are the Program Monitor's Zoom Level and Playback Resolution?
What are the sequence settings? (a screenshot of the Sequence Settings dialog would help.)
Do you have GPU acceleration enabled? If so, please try switching the Renderer to Software Only and see if the problem persists.

  • Jaggy Edges: None Before Rendering - Plenty After Rendering

    hi guys.
i'm working on a stop motion project at the moment. in Sequence Settings, Compressor is set to photo-jpeg, frame size and pixel aspect ratio to HD 1440x1080, field dominance to none, video processing to "always render in RGB" and rendering quality is set to Best.
now, the problem i've been facing is that the unrendered footage looks perfect, crisp and sharp in terms of its quality. but then it acquires jaggy edges on all of the objects in the footage after rendering!
OR... sometimes the footage looks fine when paused, but has jaggy edges in motion, when i press Play.
i even tried to export the footage without rendering it, but the exported material had the same jaggy edges issue.
could anyone help me with advice, please?
the imported photos of this stop motion project are top-quality. so the resulting final product with these jaggy edges is much more than undesirable!
    thanks in advance.

Ah, but you might have made some changes in AE Preferences, perhaps.
Mind you, I only did a fast once-over in this thread, I may have missed something, so I have to ask: do you have multiprocessing turned on?
If so, turn it off and leave it off until you get more memory: you don't have nearly enough memory to use it.  Considering AE 10 can use all the memory your machine can hold, 4GB ain't nothin' anymore.  16GB is pretty darned good, and 32GB is even better.

  • How can I get bookmark drop down to extend folder list to the left instead of the right?

Recently cleaned up my bookmarks. Previously when I clicked on the bookmark file bar icon (between history and tools buttons at the top of the screen) the bookmark drop down would appear with my folders and links (as expected) and when I moused over a folder it would open a drop down list on the left of the main bookmark drop down but now it is opening on the right. How can I get it back to opening on the right?
This is not about having a bookmark pane always open on the left side of the window. Rather it is about how to control how the drop down menus act. (OSX 10.9.3 and Firefox 30.0)
    Thanks!

So I think I understand what your suggesting but I have a folder inside a folder that has long names and it opens back to the left (after the initially opening to the right) and appears to overlay the screen space needed to display the titles.
If your right (no pun intended) then the programming that supports the drop down menu display would need to scan through all the enclosed folders looking for the potentially longest title to determine which way to open the list?
I know that this is a minor issue but it does seem that something may have changed here. It would be nice if there was away to control this part of the drop down operation. Thanks!

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
This sounds like a split screen effect to me.
If so, one view on Video 1 and the other directly above that is the other view on Video 2.
Then crop each so that each occupies 1/2 the Edit area monitor screen.
(generalized since I do not know your program version, see effects Transform/Crop).
I wrote the following in 2011 for a Premiere Elements 8 user in another forum
Your basic tools to achieve your goal are Crop Video Effect and Horizontal Flip Video Effect.
Video ONE on video track 1.
Video TWO on video track 2, directly above Video ONE.
Highlight Video ONE on video track 1, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop, followed by adjusting the crop under Edit Effects (see bottom of Effects Panel) so that Video ONE occupies the left half of the screen.
Do the same for Video TWO on video track 2, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop etc. so that Video TWO occupies the right half of the screen. BUT end with Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Horizontal Flip.
Highlight the video on either side to make adjusts in the Properties Palette and appropriate Panel (position, cropping, etc). But, remember that if you make changes in the "flipped" right side of the screen, Edit Effects/Crop Panel right option will be for left and left option will be for right.
You may or may not need the "flip" part of the effect.
Please review and consider. If I have misinterpreted your question, please let me know with details and I will rethink what you seek.
    Thanks.
