Video stops audio keeps going

In the middle of a video on Youtube that I was watching today, the video suddenly stopped while the audio kept going. The video continues if I move my cursor over the video, but stops again when I stop. This does not happen on Chrome. I have Firefox 26.0.

I have faced similar issues in Chrome.
Usually refreshing the page works.
This is most probably a fault in YouTube's player.
Are you getting this problem always?
Please post the link to the video.

  • Ipod freezes video but audio keeps on going!

Hi I have a 5th generation 32 gb iPod touch in the colour blue running IOS 7.1.2 and I noticed that whenever I'm on the web watching a video on a website, in the middle of the video the video freezes and audio keeps on going. It's honestly really annoying and when I watch the same thing on my computer it works just fine. Some people have the same problem with youtube but I don't. It works fine for me. I know it's my ipod doing it but how can I solve this problem? I've tried resetting my ipod ( holding the home button and sleep/wake button until the apple logo appears) And connecting to a different network. What can I do to solve my problem??? It's so annoying!!!!!

Close Safari (double press home button and swipe Safari up) and go to Settings > Safari > Clear History & Clear Cookies and Data. On your computer, open http://www.howtogeek.com/113439/how-to-change-your-browsers-user-agent-without-i nstalling-any-extensions/  and follow the instructions on the browser you use. Change the setting to the iPhone with the latest available OS on your computer. Now go to the website that is having the issues and if the video doesn't play fine, then its the website and if it doesn't then restore your iPod with iTunes and try again.

  • Youtube videos freeze, audio keeps playing. As long as I keep moving my cursor, it play ok. What's wrong?

This seems to happen on all Youtube video's I play. I don't know about other videos because I seldom view any others. When the video freeze happens the download bar is always ahead of the play bar so I don't think download is the problem. However, when the freeze happens, the download bar stops moving. When the play bar catches up to the download bar, the audio stops also. If I move my cursor, the video and audio start playing again. As long as I keep my cursor moving, the video plays fine. I am using Firefox 18.0.1. Computer is an HP dv6-1350us with dual processors. OS is Windows 7. I also use Chrome at times and the freeze doesn't happen on Chrome.

hello vearlbible, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode in the flash plugin - please go trough the troubleshooting steps provided in the following help document by adobe: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071
or as an alternative you could try [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_solution-2-downgrade-to-flash-10-3 downgrading to flash 10.3] (which is still supported) & see if this solves the issue.

  • Video freezes, audio keeps playing always on main monitor

I just installed FCS2 on my 1.5GHz powerbook G4, everything works perfectly fine until I try to play any video files in the viewer or the canvas. The picture freezes as soon as I hit play on whatever frame its on, the audio keeps playing fine. Everything seems to be running smooth and fast except I can not get any files to play!!! I just upgraded my ram to 1.25 gb and im running mac osx 10.4.11. Ive tried reinstalling, trashing preferences and cache, messing around with every setting I could think of...PLEASE HELP!!!

    What format is your video?
Are the appropriate Easy Setup and Sequence Settings selected?
Where is the source material located?

  • When playing video stops, audio don't continue

Before, when video was shorter than audio, audio was played in totallity.
After the last update of Final Cut studio (DSP4), when video stops, playing audio terminates !
    An idea ?
    F. DELTEIL

Is this is a menu or a track?
Either way it is usually a good idea to make sure the audio is the same length as the video (or the audio is the size of the video menu running time)

The problem is the sound keeps going out. An example: I'm watching a video and after a while the speakers start making a soft poping noise. The only solution that I have found to fix this is shutting the laptop for about an hour or so and when I open the laptop's speakers work for about an hour or two. It also happens with headphones. Even if I don't have a video or music playing I can still hear the poping noise. Please help me.

  • Why does the video freeze half way through my movie and the audio keep going?

Why does my movie freeze half way through and the audio continues?

Most likely this is due to running out of virtual memory. You can reset virtual memory by restarting your Mac.
Long term you may want to consider purchasing more memory.

  • Videos and Audio keeps pausing

Ive had this probelm for a little while. Any video I play (YouTube, iTunes, Realplayer) the video will be playing then the audio will stop, with the video still playing. It will then pause and the audio will catch up and then they will both start playing again. This started happening after I updated to flash player 11.6. Also my spotify music keeps pausing and my itunes videos do the same. Whats wrong? I run safari and the newest mac software.

    TandyMan wrote:

The current Mac version is "11.6.602.167."  Is this the version you actually installed?  Did you use the Flash Player Uninstaller to remove all previous versions?  Repaired permissions and restarted your computer after updating?

  • Video stops halfway and goes to selection menu

I Have an ipod classic 160gb windows formatted.
While playing some movies, tv shows, or music videos half way through my ipod goes back to the video selection screen as if i pressed the menu button.
I converted all my video files using the same encoder to mp4 format for my ipod, also using the same exact settings bitrate and all for all the files.
Alot of the files play flawlessly there is only a scattered few that while watching it the file just stops playing half way as if i pressed the menu button they go to the video selection screen. Please help me with this.
I have a bad feeling that most of the people who experience this problem use windows.
Also i think i should mention that i just came from the apple store from getting a replacement ipod a week ago, i was experiencing music problems where a few scattered song in my 30gb music library just skipped and never played the track however they played on itunes on the computer just fine, the genius at the store said he heard of this error plenty times and didnt even bother trying to duplicate the problem and just gave me the replacement ipod. Also he mentioned all the times he heard of the problem the users where windows users.
Maybe these two problems are related somehow.
    Help????
I forgot to add that though the video files do stop halfway, at least for me all i have to do is select the file again and search for the spot where I left off and it will continue playing with no problem, also i have the option selected where the ipod remembers where i left off on videos and to start from that position but when this happens it doesnt remember where i left off and i have to search for the spot myself.
Thought that was vital info worth mentioning as well.
Even though i have a manual fix for it, its still an inconvenience seeing as how i payed 350+ for this piece of technology and i would prefer to get my full moneys worth.
Thanks again, hope there is smart people here who can figure this out. or at least apple becomes aware of this glitch and releases a fix.

Since i have so much music its hard to spot but i just recently noticed it happened to a couple of my songs as well they cut off half way and go to the next track, i have to select the song again and fast forward a few seconds past where it stopped so i can finish listening to the song again.
If i fast forward to a few seconds before it stopped it will stop again at the same spot, i have to go a few seconds past where it originally stopped so it can finish playing, its like its ram needs to be rehashed or reloaded or something.
If anybody else is having this problem please state if you are using windows or apple os and what ipod generation you are using.
Again i am using windows xp and ipod classic 160gb.
Im pretty sure its a windows only glitch.

  • Realtek High Definition Audio keeps going out

I have a Pavillion e017 notebook the sound  keep gooing off.  Device manager shows all drivers are install correctly.  I have upgrade to Windows 8.1 and works for a week or so than goes out again I 've also downgraded to Windows 8.0 resfreshed the computer it places new Windows files and leaves my stuff intact sound works but goes off after a few days. I have restored the PC sound comes bck on after few days is back off

    Hello techky,
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand your audio driver appears to constantly act up on you. This is definitely software related, due to the fact that it occurs after a few days of fixing the driver. This implies that a Windows Update or third-party program is breaking the driver's functionality. My suggestion would be to complete all Windows Updates, with these steps:
    1. Open "Windows Update" in Control Panel.
    2. Click "Settings", and then click "Install optional updates".
    3. Next, click "Check for updates".
Once this is done, perform a Clean Boot of Windows, then uninstall and reinstall the driver. Let me know how this goes. Thanks!

  • Macbook Pro freezing while audio/mouse keeps going

I'm on a Retina Macbook Pro Early 2013 Yosemite 10.10 and I recently have been experiencing a lot of problems with the screen freezing. Can't access any applications during the freeze but the mouse still moves and the audio keeps going, it's just that nothing reacts. Once I force shut down and reboot, I keep getting "graphic errors". Does anyone know of a fix? Some of the times I'm not even running intensive applications, just chrome and perhaps itunes.
    Thanks!

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Having stopped audio with a swf inside a sidelet can someone create a swf that will resume the audio

Ok, rick is going to post the fla of this file and I will
post the swf. Basically this is all about having a slide that has
audio running all the way through and enabling the user to roll
over a sidelet and have the video and audio stop playback.
At present, the max you can achieve is, to stop video. The
audio keeps going and of course everything gets out of
sync. Rick has create a swf that you input into a sidelet (
after having imported your image or video ) which stops the audio.
Fantasitc. Unfortunatly he was not successful in creating a swf
    that will resume the audio.
So there is the mission. To create something that will resume
the audio, be it a swf inside the sidelet or something else.

Hi there paul. Am I right in thinking that your code will
mute the audio. In my situation this would cause problems becasue
you would roll over the sidelet - the audio would go silent and
when you rolled off, or resumed the audio, it would have been
playing so again the video and audio will be out of sync.
Rick - rather than another swf which would activate the audio
and video when you roll off the sidelet ( while that is the perfect
solution ) what about looking at a button the user can press to
resume things, maybe Im wrong but that sounds a little easier.
( however for all those reading this that is not really the
solution I am looking for, what Im looking for is the above
solution where you can just roll off and on and so on )

  • Live Flash Streams issue on Multiple Macs - video frozen, audio only

With live Flash streams on some Macs, the video doesn't play and only the audio does (or more accurately, the video plays for a second or so and then shows a frozen frame while the audio keeps going).  We've had this occur on three different Macs so far, but not all Macs we've tested on.  We were able to look up the graphics cards on two of them that had issues and they both have both NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT listed in the System Profiler.
Having the user manually disable hardware acceleration fixes the issue, as does pausing and then playing the video.  Running Safari in 32 bit mode did NOT fix the issue.
Flash player release notes list this as a known issue.  When might a patch for be released?  We don't want to disable hardware acceleration for all Mac users because it only affects some of them and thus some / many would be unnecessarily negatively impacted.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/901/cpsid_90194.html#main_known%20issues
Mac users may run into rendering issues with certain live streams due to  an incompatibility between the stream encoding and the hardware  decoder. We are aware of this issue and are working with Apple to  resolve it.  Users may workaround the issue by pausing and then  unpausing the live stream.  Developers can work around this issue by  forcing the video to be decoded in software - create two Video objects,  attach the stream to the first, then stop it and attach the stream to  the second Video object (2819870, 2818959, 2779420).

    From Brad Outlaw:
Are you reusing the same Video object for the new NetStreams?  Have you tried doing a Video.attachNetStream(null), Video.clear() and then attaching the new (or re-allocated) NetStream object?  The video pipeline might be playing out some residual data that was sent to it from the prior NetStream.
Adding those suggestions seems have have done the trick. I had simply been trying to manipulate the NetStream and not the Video. Although I did try attaching a null NetStream to the video at one point, I had not done so with the Video.clear().
