Video streamed from YouTube using the Apple Composite AV Cable

I used to have video streamed from YouTube on my iPad to my TV using the Apple Composite AV Cable, this was in previous versions till the iOS 6 release, then YouTube no longer streams video through this cable :'(
Very annoying really to miss a feature through a software upgrade!
Please help me.

Looks like the connector that goes into the iPad doesn't precisely connect all pins and lock the whole thing in place as well as we would think an Apple-branded product would. I discovered after four hours that if I pull my AV composite cable from the iPad without turning the iPad off (not the Apple recommended way - perhaps there's a better way, like replugging with it off?) and plugging it back in, *poof* I get video again. Now, Netflix still isn't working, but U-Tubes and photo slideshows are back with awesome-quality sound. I believe I'll get similar results when I try this on my iPhone 4.
I guess Apple TV is really the only way to get the luxury back of being able to stay focused on your entertainment and not this equipment because this was spozed to be a movie nite for me four hous ago. I just wish Apple TV had as much content as the Roku.
Anyway, just plug and re-plug, but don't be too hard on it. You might also have to turn widescreen off and back on again.

  • Exactly what can I display on my TV using the Apple Composite AV Cable?

I bought a set of composite AV Cables to hook my iPad2 up to an older TV to watch movies that I had downloaded or ripped and installed on my iPad when I was travelling.
I am curious to know if there it is possible to duplicate the iPad's screen on the TV using the AV cables?  Or do I really need the VGA adapter to be able to do this?

The composite AV cables won't do mirroring.  You would need to buy the Apple Digital AV Adapter to do mirroring.

  • I am trying to connect my ipod classic to a tv and have tried many cables including the Apple composite AV cable.  No success.  Any thoughts?

I am trying to connect my ipod classic to a tv (sony bravia 1080p) and have tried many cables including the Apple composite AV cable with the 30 pin connector on one end and three RCA connectors on the other.  Audio works but video does not.  The ipod classic screen says to connect to device when it is already connected. No success.  Any thoughts?

  • Why won't the Apple Composite AV Cable work with ipad2?

I got the Apple Composite AV Cable for our iPad2 but it does not seem to work.  The cable does not work with either our iPad2 or the iPod Touch 2G.  Ironically, the cord *does* work with our ancient iPod 80GB Classic.
The iPad does not show settings for PAL or NTSC or any other settings I could possibly change to try and get the video out to work.  What am I missing?
IPod Touch is set for NTSC and Widescreen has been tried both off and on with no video shown on the TV.
The videos do still show on the iPod/iPad screens while playing.

Apparently the answer is no? I guess for me this is the #1 reason to not buy an iPhone 5. I switched to the iPhone specifically for the component (RCA) cable with charging capabilities for my car audio / nav needs. Android did not have a good solution and Apple did. I am sure there are a hand full of  folks who bought the Pioneer App radio who are stuck as well. Apple needs to make an airplay to component adapter or a cable for the iPhone 5. Newsflash  I am not switching my head unit out for a new phone. Don’t get me wrong I love air play and own an apple TV but hotel rooms, cars, boats and points of usage not going to have air play in all instances. Even if a cable comes out the “digital” port seems telling that component is going away. Time will tell.

  • Is there a way to mirror your monitor to your tv using the apple composite cable instead to just stream your video in specific situations?

    Hello,
i bought the composite video cable out for the ipad and i want to know if there is a way to mirror the ipad monitor instead to just transmit video in specific sittuations. The same to my iphone.
I know that there is a way to do it in jailbreak ipads or iphones (using a app, but don't want to do it).

Thanks Dave.  When I read the manuals they did not communciate this point this clearly.
Use one of these to connect iPad to a TV or projector:
Apple Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI cableÂÂ
    Apple Component AV CableÂÂ
    Apple Composite AV CableÂÂ
    Apple VGA AdapterÂÂ
If you use the Apple Digital AV Adapter or the Apple Component AV Cable, high-resolution videos are shown in HD quality. Apple cables are available for purchase in many countries. Go to www.apple.com/store.
With iPad 2, when the cable is connected to a TV or projector, the iPad screen is automatically mirrored on the external display in up to 1080p resolution, and videos play at a maximum resolution of 720p. Some apps such as Keynote may use the external display as a second video monitor. With previous iPad models, only certain applications (including YouTube, Videos, and Photos) use the external display.

  • Very poor video streaming from youtube

I cannot watch a single video from youtube or any other site. I have OS v6.0.0.522. Is there anything i can do?? It will play a video for a few seconds then just starts to buffer. I have a BB 3G 9300 with Sprint

Hello mikeswitzer. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
As you have already figured out poor signal strength equals poor bandwidth performance. This, of course, will be noticeable for both audio and video streaming.
I suggest downloading a copy of iStumbler. Use iStumbler's Inspector feature (select Edit > Inspector from iStumbler's menu) to determine the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) at different points around your house, by performing a simple RF site survey. Within the Inspector, note the values for "signal" & "noise" at these locations. Start with your MacBook near the Time Capsule (TC), note the readings, and then, go to the location where you currently have the Mac Mini.
SNR is the signal level (in dBm) minus the noise level (in dBm). For example, a signal level of -53dBm measured near an access point and typical noise level of -90dBm yields a SNR of 37dB, a healthy value for wireless LANs.
The SNR, as measured from the MacBook, decreases as the range to the base station increases because of applicable free space loss. Also an increase in RF interference from microwave ovens and cordless phones, which increases the noise level, also decreases SNR.
    SNR Guideline
    o 40dB+ SNR = Excellent signal
    o 25dB to 40dB SNR = Very good signal
    o 15dB to 25dB SNR = Low signal
    o 10dB to 15dB SNR = Very low signal
    o 5dB to 10dB SNR = No signal
If the SNR is 20dB+ at the Mac Mini, then you should be getting reasonable performance from your TC. If less, either try to locate the source of the Wi-Fi interference or try relocating either the TC or the Mac Mini until they are within a 20dB SNR range.
Another option is to utilize a transceiver on the Mac Mini to try to increase the Mini's built-in AirPort antenna ability to pick up the signal from the TC. One vendor that provides these is QuickerTek.

  • Does the Apple Composite AV Cable work with Sky Sports TV App?

I have 'The new iPad' and was wondering if I bought the Apple cable that links your iPad to your television if it would be able to stream content from the Sky Sports TV app? The content is similar to that of ITV Player BBC iPlayer apps ect

  • Is the "Apple Composite AV Cable" for Ipod touch a charger or power adapter

What I mean is that if it's plugged in all the time while playing it (on my stereo), is the battery being used (charger) anyway or is it directly getting the power from the power adapter therefore not using the battery therefore not using/draining the battery cycle (as a battery as a limited number of cycles in it's life). Perhaps it's not a charger/adapter thing but a Ipod Touch conception thing. If I use 24h a day the adapter, am I using the battery cycle or not? Who can answer me this for sure (Apple?)?
Also on a similar note, can I connect the Ipod touch on another PC to charge it (through the dock/USB cable) but without synching it (I know only one PC can synch but if I want to recharge the Ipod at my girlfriend's place on her PC without Itunes can I?)

Anyone else has an idea on the issue of if the Ipod touch uses the power adapter/charger as direct source of power and not through the battery? If the battery is now fully charged and the Ipod is playing (and plugged in) is only the adapter working or is also the battery?
remember the good old days when electronics could work with the adapter or the batteries of the time (non-lithium). If you didn't have a battery in it would work. Even if you did have a battery in, the adapter would be the source. I currently have a 20g Iriver and it displays a "plug" symbol when plugged in and playing and not the battery symbol which lets me to believe the battery is not being used.
I am concerned that if a lithium battery as lifetime of 500 cycles for example, and I use 5 hours a day the player (plugged in all the time) that 1 cycle will be done within 5 days even though I wasn't actually away from the power outlet. Of course I will use my Touch often away as well but overall by using 2h a day away and 3h a day plugged in, if it's the battery working all the time, my battery lifetime will be decreased by a lot.
Any ideas? Any way to ask Apple officially? email address? form they will respond to?

  • E71 - Cannot view Video streams from YouTube

    Hey ther,
i recently picked up the E71, great phone, must say.
    However, i have a concern...
I tried browsing YouTube & MetaCafe using my WiFi & GPRS connection to view videos of youtube and metacafe.
The problem however is, once I click a Video thumbnail on the browser, it loads the Real Player as default. However, once the video is buffered 100%, it only plays out the Audio (sound). The Video simply doesn't show up. the RM player simply displays the loading screen.
Even if I save this video post its audio only playback and view try viewing it offline, the same result, only Audio play.
    Can someone please help??
    Thanks n rgds,

  • I have no sound on videos streaming from youtube etc

Everything was fine until installing Regwork.  i have uninstalled Regwork...how do I fix this?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
    Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if the videos play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer.

  • How do I move my downloaded video clips (from youtube etc) into my photo album so I can see them in the aurasma app?

I want to use videos downloaded from youtube in the AR app Aurasma, but, I don't know how to move the video clips into my photo album to do this.

1 - select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder - mount the USB drive and drag that folder to it.  I usually use the export custom size option to limit teh photo to the maximum pixel dimension of the photo frame letting me have more photos on the USB drive
2 - to restore the iPhoto icon in the dock launch iPhoto from the Applications folder and right click on the icon in the Dock sleecting keep in Dock

  • Apple Composite AV Cable: Full Screen from iPod to TV?

I'm looking at buying the Apple Composite AV Cable for my iPod Classic 120. I didn't want to purchase it before I knew if it would do what I want it to do.
Will it play TV shows, Videos, etc... full screen on my TV when plugged in?
Also, if I were to plug it into a 3rd party (Dynex) iPod dock, and plug the Apple Composite AV Cable into the 30pin port in back of the dock, would it still play on my TV?
And thirdly, with the above scenario in use, if I were to plug the USB end of the AV Cable into my computer, would it still play on my TV?
Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Your first question is yes. If you set the ipod to "fit to screen" then it will, as long as when you convert the file, the aspect ratio is set to the ipod screen size(320×240 pixels). If the software has that option.
I'm not sure about the connection for the dock you want to use, but with the 6th gen ipods a lot of 3rd party docks will not allow you to view video's through them because of something written into the ipod software. The one you want to use does not support the Classic. The only one I found was Apples own. But you can not use the menu button on the remote, so you can not change between films (unless in a play list) or change between films, music, photos or any other function of the ipod with out manually doing it yourself. The menu button is only to be used with Apple TV.
No to your third question. Your ipod is connected to the computer and even if you play the file from the pod in itunes, it will only show up on your monitor

  • Hi, tell me any good app to download video song from youtube..thanks

hi, tell me any good app to download video song from youtube..thanks

[Get Flash Videos] ([get_flash_videos]) from the AUR.  It is a command-line program that can download the highest-quality-possible video streams from YouTube as well as many other video streaming websites, and also allows you to log in right there on the console if a video was content-flagged on particular a video-streaming service.  You can also download the subtitles/closed-captions along with video.

  • Apple Composite AV cables with the universal dock

    Hi,
    I have a classic iPod 80gb w/video (i think it's 5th generation)
I recently purchased the Apple composite AV cables to listen to my ipod via the RCA inputs on my stereo's receiver. This works well.
It also has a USB cable attached so I can charge the ipod while I listen to music.
I wanted to purchase the universal dock so I can replace my old CD changer and have a nice looking iPod sitting in a nice dock where the cd changer used to be. Plus the remote would come in handy.
Since my composite cables play music and charge I figured I'd just plug the 30-pin adapter into the back of the dock and pop my ipod into the dock (i realize I'll probably need a dock apadter for my classic ipod) and i'd be able to play music and charge the ipod.
I spoke with an Apple salesmen who says that this woun't work, I need to buy a headphone (3.5 mm) to RCA adapter cable for the audio and the USB 30pin plug is only for charging.
But right now, without the dock it does both, so does anyone know if this sales person is correct? They had to do a lot of research so I know he didn't know first-hand.
    Has anyone tried this?
I'd hate to have to buy a 3.5 mm to rca cord and then not use the 39 cables I just purchased.
Thanks so much for any help.

Your 3 rca connector comes with video (yellow) and audio (red and white) and the other one is usb which you can use for charging if you plug the charger on it. no need to plug 3.5mm mono jack.

  • IPod Touch gen1 with apple composite av cable sound comes out but no video?

I have a iPod touch gen1 and ipod touch gen2 and with gen1 IPT audio comes out but no video on the tv. Whereas the gen2 works fine. I have brought the Apple Composite AV cable about 3 days ago.

Your av composite cable isnt compatible with the ipod touch 4G, i assure you that. It will work on older devices like what you have said... But ipod touch 4G is completely a high tech device in present generation. Apple cables/cables are compatible specifically to a device. Try to buy cables conpatible with iphone 4 above and i assure you it will perfectly work with an ipod touch 4G. Iphone 3gs model is inferior to 4th generation models. So maybe the cable cant function properly on higher models because its firmware, specs., etc. is more advanced.
