Video sync problem with nvidia quadro fx cards, edge blending on.

when I start edge blending feature of my nvidia quadro fx 3500 driver on 2 projectors, quicktime goes out of synchronization between audio and display. it's not directly related with framerate cuz my own opengl application with quicktime sdk, renders with 300+ fps succesfully but still the video is out of sync...

Hi there, welcome to forum.

your PSU is good one and should be powerfull enough.
Output    +3.3V@28A, +5V@30A, +12V@34A, [email protected], [email protected], +5VSB@2A
can't be power related, since at 1st your PSU must be enough, 2nd same issue happend with your old mx 440 VGA. card malfunction are dismissed as possibility as well since its work fine in another machine.
think its drivers mess. ATI drivers(or part of them) still exist, guess is not completely removed. same symptoms happend many times when switching between Ati to NV, lagging 2D scrolling lag and etc, caused by ATI Smart (part of ATI Drivers) sometimes remain(survive after driver cleaner).
suggest you a new clean fresh OS installation. like Nv support already directed. also ensure in BIOS, in "Integrated Peripherals", "Init Display First" are configured to AGP.
let we know how its going, if problem persist we a ready with a tips to resolve your issue.

  • 'Source play' and 'audio-video sync' problems with PE8 on fast WIN7 64 bit computer

I am transferring Hi8 videos, about 2 hours long, to my WIN7 64 bit computer with PE8.  [Dell Mobile Precision M4400 Computer Workstation (Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 500GB/4GB); NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, 512MB] I seem to have several problems:
First, after importing the file (.avi), I get a message about ‘dropped frames.’
Secondly, when I try to play the video in the source monitor, the audio plays but the video doesn’t; it only shows the first frame [this is after waiting until the video is ?recognized? ]   I can use the shift-arrow key and see that the video is there.
Thirdly, I can play the .avi file in other players, e.g., avidemux or PE pro CS5 on another computer.  There, I see that the audio and video are not in sync; the audio can be up to 300 ms ahead of the video (as determined using avidemux).
    Questions:
    1.  Why doesn’t the source monitor play the video? Is this a problem with PE8 (latest update as of 3 March 2011) on aWIN7 64 bit computer (intel duo core. 3 GHz).
    2. Is the audio-video sync problem the result of the ‘dropped frames?’ How can PE8 correct this? Avoid this? Or, is it coincidence?

"I think you're telling me you're using a backwards compatible Digital8  camcorder to capture your video as DV-AVIs. Is that right?" YES
"Are you using  Premiere Elements to do this capturing?" YES, AS ABOVE PE8
"Go to the File menu and select Properties. It should show a standard DV codec being used for your video and audio."
WMP v12 is dumb. Under properties, media, it says 'video.'  However, avidemux gave me the information state above: video -- Codec 4CC: dvsd, frame rate: 29.971 fps; audio -- codec: PCM, channels: Stereo, frequency: 48 kHz.
    So, back to the Questions:

Hello everyone, I am new to the forums here.  I cannot figure out what is causing my problem.
I have been having performance issues with my new Quadro FX 4000 on my system.  I have been in communication with Nvidia tech support for a while now.  Here is the discussion I have been having with them.  It explains my problem in detail.  Be sure to read it from bottom to top though.

    Pat,
I have checked the NVBug Database and although there has been Bugs submitted where a MSI Master2-Far motherboard was used, none of the issues were caused by the motherboard. They just happened to have a MSI Master2-Far motherboard.
We have seen conflicts when both ATI and NVIDIA drivers are both installed, but I would hope that the Driver Cleaner software removed the lines in the registry as well.
Did you try the FX4000 in the other system (the one that had the MX 440) ?
I believe you are taking to right steps in resolving this issue.
Looking at the Windows Error Reporting, it seems you have had some app problems.
Looking forward in hearing your results

OK I completed my tests and got some interesting results.
-I installed the GeForce Mx 440 on my computer and it yielded similar poor performance just like the Quadro did (terrible window scrolling, stuttering, horrible gaming).
-I then installed the Quadro on the computer I yanked the Geforce MX 440 from.  I installed the most recent drivers, and it worked WONDERFULLY.  There was no stuttering, no lagging, and Open GL gaming seemed even better than the MX 440 (I know the Quadro is not designed for gaming, but some Open GL counter-strike served as a nice little test.)  Unfortunately, that computer does not have Adobe Premiere or any high-end applications for me to really test the card with.
-After those two tests, I uninstalled the MX 440 from my computer and re-installed its ORIGINAL ATI 9600 SE.  It worked just like it did before I first received the Quadro.  No window lagging, no stuttering, and adequate gaming.
All of these test yield a few conclusions to me:
    1. The Quadro FX 4000 card is not defective, it does indeed work.
    2. My computer seems to dislike Nvidia cards and/or drivers (seeing as the Quadro and GeForce gave me terrible results while the ATI worked fine.)
It would seem to be a driver issue, almost like my original ATI driver files are still running.  That would explain everything.  However, I completely removed the ATI driver AND ran Driver Cleaner to clear all ATI files from my system before attempting to install the Nvidia card.
I cannot think of a reason for these inconsistencies. Tomorrow I plan on preparing to completely crash my computer. Backup my files and completely format my HD's and reinstalled Windows XP Pro, my Mobo software, all drivers, ect.
I will await any ideas or suggestions before I format my computer.  I hope these tests along with my system info helps.  Thank you very much.

    Ok,
Here is my system info.  I realize that the Quadro FX 4000 has a conflicting IRQ with my onboard gigabyte ethernet, but my old ATI card was the same way, and it never caused a problem.  Also, I am unsure how to fix that anyways.  Hopefully this info helps us determine the problem.
I am going to try a few tests of my own.  I am going to install a GeForce MX 440 AGP card(from my other computer) and see how it performs.  Then I will try re-installing my old ATI 9600SE card.  If I get similar low performance, than it must be something else besides the card.  Otherwise, the card is the issue.
    Thanks for the help.

    Pat,
Maybe the system info will shed some light.
    Please perform the following steps:
    1) Click on the Start button
    2) Select Run
    3) In the Open field, type in "msinfo32" and then press the OK button
    4) This will bring up the Microsoft System Information Utility.
Click on File and then Save to save this information to your hard drive. You may give it any name you choose.
    5) Once the file has been saved on your hard drive, attach it to this support request so that we may review your system configuration.

I completely uninstalled my old ATI and Nvidia drivers.  I went into safe mode and ran Driver Cleaner also.  I freshly installed the new Nvidia driver and I still have low performance.
I am trying to download Viewperf, but it is downloading at about 30k/s, which will take about a day to finish.  What else could be causing this?  It is possible its a bad card? I got it new on Ebay from a legitimate seller, but it came with the card only.
     Response (GL) 02/01/2007 06:00 PM
Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care
There should not be any performance drop browsing the internet or moving windows across screens.
Since you did have an ATI card installed, you may want to verify that all files have been removed.
This also includes the registry since there are applications known to leave files behind.
Once all ATI files have been removed, please run a benchmark software such as ViewPerf.
Viewperf 9.03 can be found on the following location:

I recently upgraded to a Quadro FX 4000.  I do a lot of video editing on Premiere, and from what I read, it seemed like the best card to get.  However, I am getting very poor performance with this card.  For example, just browing the internet and moving windows around yields a very stuttery picture.  And I do not notice any different using Premiere.
I uninstalled my old video card (ATI 9600 SE) and uninstalled the drivers for it as well.
I have tried 3 different versions of drivers for the Quadro 4000, including the most recent.
I have checked the power connections, and the card is receiving power on both the ports.
I really have no idea what could be causing this bad performance.  Is this how the card works?  Did my ATI 9600SE yield better performance for internet browsing than this card does?  The only thing I can think of is that the card is not getting enough power because it connects to 2 seperate power cables from the PSU which already power lots of other things (HD's, Disk Drives, Fans).
Any help is greatly appreciated.  Here at my system specs:
    Custom built PC
    MSI Master2-Far Mobo
    2x AMD Opteron 244
    2G Transcend DDR 333 Registered Ram(1 stick)
    2x WD 74G Raptors (RAID 0)

  • Scrambled display video on MBP with NVIDIA GT 300 card

Hi; I'm posting this on the MBP discussion group (mistakenly posted it on the MacBook group; thanks to frederic1943 for pointing this out)  was wondering if anyone was having this same problem.  I have a 15-inch MBP with i7 processor (I believe it is mid-2010), running Mac OS X 10.6.7, that has the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card in addition to the Intel graphics card.  I have upgraded the physical RAM to the maximum 8GB.
I have recently been experiencing a problem in using Firefox 4.0.1 in which one or both of 2 things happens:  1) when I open a new window or tab in Firefox, the window is totally black; and/or 2) the display becomes scrambled and I can no longer make out the outlines of windows in Firefox.  Sometimes a black page will open normally if I refresh the screen with cmd-R (sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries), and sometimes the scrambled screen will return to normal appearance if I click on the Menu bar and slide the cursor left and right; sometimes I can then grab a window handle and "wipe" the screen clear of the scrambled video so it is readable again.
I will admit that I have had quite a few windows open in Firefox when this has happened, so I suspect I may be stressing the video RAM.  However, I wanted to see there are other explanations for this problem.
I have read about similar-sounding problems with earlier MBPs using the 8600 graphics card, but not with the one I have.  I also saw some posts about similar-sounding problems with Safari that did not occur with Firefox; however, I'm having the problem in Firefox.  I haven't tried Safari to see if I would have the same problem.  I've run TechTool which did not find any problems, and also ran the Cron scripts (all 3) using Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, but am still having the problem.  I have over 800MB of system RAM free (although I realize it may be the video RAM that is limiting here).  I
Any ideas or similar experiences?  Any feedback (other than closing some windows, which I have been doing, and am still having the problem) would be most helpful.
    Thanks, - Klingon725

having too many tabs open isnt the issue here, i would love to answer you, but i work for AMD, so i rarely get in touch with nvidia gpus but u should try booting in safe mdoe first, and running the apple hardware test will be a good idea

  • ThinkStation S10 problem with Nvidia GTS450 Graphics Card

    Hi,
I have recently purchased this Thinkstation and decided that I wanted to change the graphics card as I will mostly be using it for media (ie DVD and Bluray on my LCD TV).
I purchased a Nvidia GT 440 originally but could not get anything to display through it and recieved 3 beeps (1 long and 2 short). I confirmed with the company I bought it from that it should be compatible, and had it tested by them to check the card was not faulty.
So I sent that back for a refund and bought a Nvidia GTS 450 thinking that as it takes separate power rather than through the motherboard maybe if it was an issue with power it might work but again got the 3 beeps and no display.
Both cards I tried also at the same time as the Quadro FX370 but still got no display even though the fans were turning.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First and foremost, the GTS450 is not a supported card.   GeForce cards are not supported in Workstation class systems.  This isn't just a Lenovo statement, but also the same response you'll get from Nvidia as well.
That being said, you're likely running into a ROM space issue in BIOS.  With a known working card, try going into setup and disabling features such as PXE boot and the 2nd ethernet (assuming you're not using either of these).  I know on the 20 series (non- Eseries) we made some BIOS optimizations that would sometimes allow cards like this to at least make it through POST successfully if you free up space by disabling unused features.  Not sure if this same optimization made it into the S10/D10 series BIOS or not, but it's worth a shot.

  • T61 will not boot with nvidia quadro 140m driver

    Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago, after allowing MS update to install some FTDI driver updates, my system will not boot up and hangs shortly after the initial vista loading screen. The screen goes black with some HD activity and eventually reboots. After trying a couple of restore points with no luck, I started to remove the latest driver updates and other software to my system again with no luck.
If I uninstall the nvidia driver and use the Standard VGA driver, it will boot and come up properly. I've done a bunch of web searches and searches on this site and can't find my exact circumstances. Its hard to believe that it could be a  hardware issue since it started after a software update, but since it hasn't been a problem for anyone else, I'm just not sure at this point.
I've tried earlier versions of the nvidia driver, removing other drivers and services trying to find a coincidence, but nothing seems to work. I'm kind of at a loss at this point. Does anyone have some suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

    More info on my system:

    System Type    x64-based PC

    SMBIOS Version    2.4
Installed Physical Memory (RAM)    4.00 GB
Also, does anyone know if using the Standard VGA Display driver without problems on this system means that the video card hardware is working? In other words, I'm trying to rule out a hardware problem with my nvidia quadro 140m card, so if the system works fine with the standard vga driver, would that mean the hardware on the card is ok?
    Thanks,

  • Old IMac 17'' video sync problem at boot

    Hi,
A friend has brought his IMac 17'', which has a video sync problem. At boot, all screen lines are out of sync, but I can more or less recognize the apple logo, which disappears later. Something happens at least, there is a boot processing going on I think.
I tried to reset the parameter ram, it does not help.
I have heard of a power supply problem that can cause that problem. Is that right? The computer serial is: W8446APAPP7.
    Can anyone help?

Here's a simple test case I've made, it's just a bunch of lines drawn in an orthographic OpenGL view. When you scroll horizontially with scrollbars or by space+dragging, the effect is very noticeble.
The .app and source are available here:
    http://www.johnpsimons.com/mac/TestApp.tgz

I believe this is the same problem as with the Apple homepage Flash thing. It's not just a problem with Flash.

  • Sync problem  with hdcam 24p

We are experiencing a sync problem with captured material from hdcam in 24p in a 23.98 timeline. The reason the timeline is 23.98 (ProRes) is that most of the material for this show was shot in 23.98fps. The picture is sync if we look at the ouput from the Kona card though, but not on the computer monitor. Any idea of a remedy^

I don't trust anything on my computer screen for timing, color etc the viewer is a proxy and depending on your RT settings is a best guess.
Watch the output of the Kona while monitoring the output audio from the Kona.
That's what goes to tape that is what is real.
The rest is GFX card core audio timing RT settings, etc etc

  • Video Sync Problems in iTunes 11.1/ios 7

I have recently upgraded to ios 7 for my iPad and iPhone, and iTunes 11.1.  I added two new videos to iTunes (.m4v format) and now when I try to sync with my iPad it seems to hang forever on "Waiting for changes to be applied" and then gives me an error message that the videos are not of a format that can be played on the iPad.  This is odd since I already have .m4v videos on my iPad that play just fine.  Moreover, I deselected some videos and they do not delete from my iPad as well.  Is anyone else encountering this?  I have seen some posting regarding music files and playlists not syncing, but nothing about movie files.

I've had video syncing problems (not with music though) when I updated my iPhone 4s to the new IOS 7, but I finally figured it out. What I did was I plugged my 4s in to my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit), then opened iTune (11.1.3.8), clicked on my iPhone tab on the upper right, under "Summary" put a 'check' in the Manually sync music & videos.
Looking at the picture above, notice the: Movies, Music Videos, and  Home Videos; are now available. Before this method, these three wasn't there. These are all in the original Videos app for the iPhone. I hope this help you guys too.
