Video to .flv yields extra black at end

We are rendering out a .flv file and no matter how or where we play it, there is an extra 8-10 seconds of black at the end. When we have rendered out some other videos the black is there also, but then there is some random audio that is from one of the other videos. We haven't run into this problem before and the only difference is that we were asked to compress these videos as much as possible. Any thoughts?

I am having a similar issue. Sequence is 588w x 486h Animation+ codec, talent chroma-key (Conduit) on track 2 with no background on track 1. Flash 8 is installed. When I export using the QuickTime Flash export component using On2 VP6 with Alpha Channel settings, the resulting FLV has additional frames up to around 20 seconds for a 2 minute sequence. I tried several different sequence codecs/Spark codec with same result. Even setting an In and Out on the sequence does not help.
One symptom I have noticed, is that when I click in the timeline beyond the last frame of video, I still see the last frame of video in the Canvas (But not in the BlackMagic video card output). Normally I would see black or checkerboard.
Anybody heard of any conflicts with the Flash Export component dircect from the timeline or via a batch export.
Exporting an Item Settings QuickTime (Animation+) files and then using Flash Encoder does work, but I am trying to avoid the extra steps. (250 sequences to export)
I suspect I have an issue with the export component, but I wanted to see if anybody else has experiences this before I reinstall FCP and Flash software.

Premiere Elements 13, on Windows 7 64 bit, Problem fading to black at end of video.

With Premiere Elements 13, on Windows 7 64 bit, I am attempting to end a video with a fade to black transition. For whatever reason, it is fading to black then returning. Yes, I have tried it all three ways right, left and in between, but the it keeps fading out then in. And yes the transition is at the very end of the clip.

When I apply the Dip to Black video transition to the last Timeline clip, the Alignment is Left Clip. You have been there and done that.
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing when the Dip to Black transitions stops on your Timeline?
When I do as you have suggested I see this
Have you expanded the Timeline with the -+ slider above the Timeline and inspect the end of the clip as well as
other track content above or below, do you detect an fragments that might be a factor in what you are seeing?
If you start a new project, do you get the same result?
Could you post a screenshot displaying what you are seeing with the Dip to Black video transition placed at the end
of the last clip on your Timeline (Alignment: Left Clip)?

EXTRA BLACK added to F.C. Express project to Quicktime

When I export a project from FCExpress to a Quicktime .dv, more than half the time my PowerPC 970 (2.2) will add extra black, dead space to the end of the .dv. I've double checked the end point of my FCE project to make sure it was correct but this still happens at times. How do I correct this?

It sounds like to me that there is extra material in the timeline. If it was a second or two, sometimes that is harder to figure out.
Zoom Out of the timeline so you can more, then drag/highlight the video and audio tracks from the last part where you think the footage and audio ends, all the way to the right. You may see something highlighted there.
It may be hard to see though if you left just a couple of frames. ANother quick thing to try is make a new sequence. Go to thhe end of your original sequence (where you think it ends) then drag all the way to the left to highlight everything (audio and video) then paste that into the new sequence.
This should clean up the issue.
If not you can always cut the excess out in QT itself, but I would guess there is extra material hanging past the end

Premiere Elements 7: share/export DV-PAL in FLV/QT/WMV, black bars on top/bottom

During export (step "share", export for "PC" - sorry, if I use some wrong terms, got a german interface) of only DV-PAL video to FLV/QT/WMV there are always black bars on top/bottom of the video and the picture is wrong in aspect ratio. I can't help.
I tried different resolutions (original 720x576, 502x402, 320x240) and, as only possible with QT/WMV, different pixel aspect ratios (PARs), even user-defined PARs and 'wrong' aspect ratios (like 512x402). No chance. (I think precise user-defined data like "1,094" is not possible, because results did not change anyhow and this value is shown as "1".) With e.g. QT, 640x512, PAR 1,067 there are black bars with 6 px each.
My project settings must be correct I think: DV-PAL, 720x576, 4:3, 25 fps.
DV-PAL- and MPEG-Export/Share is no problem.
As a workaround I export DV-PAL and convert with XMediaRecode to FLV. But I want direct and clean export with PrEl. That's what I bought it for recently.
I wonder why there are only NTSC-setting suggested in FLV-share. I have to change the size by myself.
And I wonder why Wikipedia says PAR for DV-PAL is "1,0940" and Premiere says "1,067".
I'm new to Premiere Elements 7 (although I got some experience with Premiere 5/6.5, FinalCut, Cinelerra ...) using Windows XP.

I had to deactivate sound because this is Creative Commons stuff and I don't want to give credits. And I changed fps to "like original" because 30 fps as standard in PrEl is wrong. It's PAL here.

First few moments of the video render as just a black screen - Premiere Elements 9

I'm putting together a short, 8-second demo clip of a particular moment of my project in Premiere Elements 9. The section involves two clips which were taken seperately, but are cut in half with the crop function so that they both play on the screen at once. There are also some position and brightness adjustments of one of the clips to ensure they match up.
However, I have begun seeing strange behaviour when I attempt to render the clip and as so far I have not been able to get a usable copy. When rendered as a .wmv, one of the two clips is inexplicably cropped from the bottom up to about a quarter of the height of the scene, despite not being so in the editor. Furthermore, when rendered as an MPEG, the format I would prefer the file to be in, although I do not get the first problem I get an issue where the first 20-23 frames of the video refuse to play in an external video player. I tried both windows media player and VLC. Instead, the section of the video appears as either a black screen, a black screen with a white line on it, or, if the video timeline is scrolled back to the start, the last frame viewed. The music clip which accompanies the video however still plays during this section, and the error is not seen at all in the editor. Oddly, if one of the rendered files is imported back into Premiere Elements 9, and played within the error, the 20-or-so frames will indeed play. It seems it is only the Premiere Elements editor that can play these frames.
I'm utterly at a loss here. I don't mind too much not being able to export as .wmv, as it is not my first choice, but if anyone could help me with the MPEG rendering I would be very grateful.
The source files are AVCHD (.mts) files, at a resolution of 1440x1080. There is only one "clip change" at the point where the video becomes viewable again, but this is merely where I have split the same clip to perform a brightness change, as I have many times in the video elsewhere.

Here's a screencap of my interface, although I blurred out the video preview section (it doesn't contain anything relevant anyway).
I would like to avoid posting a copy of the video if I can help it - I doubt my actors would be too pleased with me posting them around the internet.
As for the project settings, when I first imported the clips Elements informed me that my project preset was incorrect for the clips and automatically picked one to fit them, so I'm sure that that's all set up fine. All the footage is from the same camcorder, except for a splash screen image, of the correct resolution, which flashes up at the end.
I have used assets of the same format previously and with no isses.

Black on End of Exports--No Reason for It

+I'm posting this as a new question because nearly a month has gone by and no answer to a previous question.+
Every export has minutes of extra black added to the end. THERE ARE NO CLIP FRAGMENTS IN THE TIMELINE. These sequences are created just for the exports, and have only a clip or two in them. Yes, I set in/out marks, also tried not setting them.
This seems to be a SOFTWARE BUG. Can APPLE address this??
Any other experiences with this?

Thank you for your responses. It's doing this in two different projects, on different computers! (My desktop and laptop--I have been running both simultaneously.)
But I will try your suggestions and respond again. (Why didn't I try trashing pref's before?.....)
These are huge files--P2, DVCPRO HD. Compressing to HDV24p. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Hello, thank you for your help. I finally was able to contact someone from Adobe on line.. It took about 1 hour on hold but I finally won the lotto...Lol. Pr.. /Project/Project Settings/General/ I had the (Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerated (CUDA) and not the (Mercury Playback Engine Software Only) It only took 1 second for Adobe to figure it out...Lol.
Although I have a high rated Nvidia card that did handle the software for some time after a hack, I believe a Windows update may have altered my Premiere Pro CS6 settings.
Video card is Geforce Nvidia GTX 765M non compatible with (Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerated (CUDA). Thank Ronin Edits and cvid01

Print at Bottom of Page option causing extra page at end of report

I'm using the option 'Print at Bottom of Page" in Section Expert for some invoices I'm creating. For some reason it's causing me to have an extra page at the end of the report. If I unselect this option, the extra page goes away. I need to be able to have this group footer print at the bottom at the page but not have the extra at the end of the report. This is the first time I've used this option so maybe I've missed something. All other sections after the group footer I want printed are suppressed. Any ideas?

I guess I didn't have the report footer suppress, I just had it minimized in size. I suppressed it and it seems to be fine.

ITunes after 10.8.3 combo update doesn't play video, only audio with a black screen

My iTunes has been randomly playing really old QuickTime files as I've had iTunes start in 32 bit mode. That worked for a while, but like I said, it has stopped working and iTunes is back to not playing older QT movie files. Fine.
Now, however, iTunes didn't play a PROTECTED file that I purchased from the iTunes store. I made sure my computer was authorized to play the file, the store said my computer was already authorized. iTunes plays the AUDIO of the selected video, but only shows a black window where the video should be playing. It did this for several videos. I was confused.
I restarted my computer and now iTunes is playing the file as it should. It is not however playing my MPG QuickTime movie files that it has played for years.
What is going on with the software? I've followed the threads telling me to remove Perian, remove, Filp4Mac, restart, run in 32-bit mode, etc and nothing is now working when those solutions worked just last week.
Any input about what I should try next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Iphone G3 screen goes black after ending every call.

My iphone screen goes black after ending a call. Shouldn't I have to hit the "end call" button? I'm having to re-boot the phone after every call I make. Anyone else have similar issues?

I know that and it is not the problem nor an explanation.
Here is the issue I am referring to:
When someone calls, still during the conversation when I remove the phone from my ear (in order to access the key pad, for example), or in order to hand up, the screen goes black and the phone freezes.
In other words I cannot terminate the call or access the keys,as I remove the phone away from my ear it shuts down.
Any help???

try to restart iPad > hold sleep/wake button on top right till u see slide to power off, if it wont resolve it

MacBook Pro / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better. Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG. However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success. So here's what I did:
1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
[also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
5. Go back to the Get Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

Certain videos give me only a black screen

Certain videos give me only a black screen, for example all CBS News or Cnettv videos. Most videos, including, for example, NBS News videos play fine, as do the commercials before CBS News videos, but when a CBS video is supposed to start the window goes black and there is no sound. The counter does not advance. I have Flash player Version 11.8.800.175; IE version 10.0.9200.16686, update version 10.0.9, on Windows 7. ActiveX filtering is off, Shockwave Flash Object is enabled. I have the same problem on two similarly configured Dell computers in two cities.
