Video to Mac

I want to shoot video w/iPad2, then transfer the file to my iMac for editing in iMovie. The normal sync to iPhoto works, but how can I get it to iMovie?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

I am not sure if this can be done or not.
Movies shot using iPad2 I don't beiieve can be transferred for editing on a Mac or PC.
I am not completely sure about that though.
In any event you can edit your movie right on the iPad if you purchase the iPad2 version of iMovie in the app store.
This version of iMovie is made, especially, for the iPad 2.

how can i stream video from mac os x 10 using roku to my tv?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
OS X can't write in NTFS disks. If you want to write in NTFS drives, you have to use a third-party app like Paragon for NTFS, being this application the best one to write in those disks.
Another option is to format the external disk in FAT32 or exFAT on a PC, so you will be able to read and write in Macs and PCs without having to use third-party apps. Do it on a PC and copy the files of your external drive to the internal disk first

  • No video on mac with hardware accelaration enabled

hi there, i just posted this thread yesterday in the flash player category, but i think it might be more correct if its posted here. we are creating a live stream  with a digital rapids encoder, and getting no video on macs if the  hardware accelaration is enabled. we have also on demand videos which  are encoded over a main concept codec without this bug.
so  now my question. is it possible to disable the hardware acceleration  from within flash or does anybody have similar experiences?

Hi, I can only supply some information of the options the end user would have on Hardware Acceleration. From what I have read is that even though Adobe Flash Player has included the Mac to be able to use this, Apple may have only allowed it to function on certain Mac and iMac editions. So the end user can turn the H.A. off if it is causing issues with Videos etc. Also with the Flash Player version 10.1.82.76 the H.A. is turned ON by default, hence the option of turning it off. Now if a Mac user wants it on, or even those using other operating systems, it is also recommended to update the video and graphic drivers to the latest versions.
From your end as to what you do I have no idea since this is the Flash Player forum and just speaking for myself, I have no experience with what you do.
Perhaps the Flash Forum would be helpful or one of the Adobe Forums for the particular Adobe Program you use.
    Thanks,

  • Incompatible web sites, playing wmv video on mac

I am an expert pc user switching to mac...
I realized when I made the switch that they would be software that worked with PC that would not work with MAC. What has really surprised me, is there seems to be many web sites that will not work with MAC and its browsers.
This started with a conversation with apple support, where they indicated there were incompatible web sites.
My business bank stops you cold and says you have to use IE; you can ignore it and move on and it seems to work ok.
The Walgreen pharmacy web site has a drug cost calculator that also says you must use IE, and you cannot move on.
What really concerns me are the ones that give you no warning, but just don't work. If you go to
    http://www.dotnetnuke.com/default.aspx?tabid=777
under the title of Video introduction:
Mac Firefox - nothing displays for the video player
Mac Safari - the video player displays, but the video will not play.
PC IE - everything works as expected.
The video format is wmv, which is an industry standard. I installed flip4mac, which is supposed to allow you to view wmv in quicktime, but it did work. Even after downloading the video (a link), I could not watch in on the mac. I had to go to a PC.
This type of silliness is exactly why I am running from a PC. Now I am finding it prevalent on the mac.
Question 1) specific to the wmv file format, how do you get it to run on mac?
Question 2) is this just the way it is? You cannot depend on web applications working at all with mac?
    thanks!
    bob

    Hi Bob,
    Ok, I'll bite
Apple has to understand that we don't care about who is at fault for web sites not working with Mac
The WebKit team are more than aware of that fact, and where possible they work with popular websites to get them to correct their websites or add specific 'kludges' into the WebKit code to specifically support these sites.
Apple has the ability to have an IE mode in safari to handle these situations, but hey choose not to
I've not heard that before. Can you quote a source?
If it takes IE compatibility mode to handle all web sites, then just do it.
That of course costs money. And then there's the prospect of Apple having to license Microsoft's DRM solution to provide 100% compatibility with Windows Media files. As we all know, Apple like good P.R. as much as the next company and handing something like that to Microsoft is never going to happen.
Microsoft clearly won't provide updated WMP technology for OS X as it gives them nothing, other than the extra impetus for people to switch away from Windows.
So we're stuck with essentially badgering the broken sites to fix things, or going somewhere else (and spending our $$$ there if needed).
The bar for a college student is much lower
True, but today's college student is tomorrow's business person and Apple products are very popular with college students these days. Apple are in this for the long term. Things will change, but we have to live in the real world and know this isn't going to happen soon.
The truth of the matter is that the sooner Microsoft get on board with being a responsible web-citizen then the better it will be for everyone (and by everyone I don't just mean Apple users, but anyone connected to the internet).
Almost [1 in 3 browsers on the web are not Internet Explorer|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usageshare_of_webbrowsers] - that's a huge number and businesses on the web need to be aware of this.
Please please please do not get me wrong - I would love it if Safari (or Firefox, or Opera, or Chrome, or ...) could handle every site that IE does but it's never, ever going to happen.
    Cheers,
    Ben

  • IDVD and Video-2-Mac

my iDVD gives dvd capacities of 4.2GB SL and 7.7GB DL, the discs I have are 4.7GB SL an 8.5GB DL so why are they not registered in iDVD, and has anyone used Video-2-mac kit before, I have recorded a couple of videos , 4 hours in total taking up over 240GB of my 1TB hard drive using capture  mode YUV422 for best results (1 hour = 60GB), but the dvd end quality is very poor compared to the vhs video quality. can anyone help me out please

Make sure Quicktime 7 is open before you try Anamorphizer.
Place a copy of your movie clip in a new folder and drag that clip over the Anamorphizer icon. This should create a second file in that folder that start with Anamorphic- This is the reference movie you drag-and-drop into iDVD. Note that your clip in that folder (which is the movie the reference movie points to, must not be moved or deleted).

How do i copy The iMovie video from Mac, to iPad mini?

The easiest way is to firstly export the movie to iTunes (Share > iTunes), then sync the iPad Mini with iTunes. In iTunes, include your movie as an item to be synced. After syncing, on the iPad it will appear in the Videos app. That's how I do it for my wife's Mini.
If you need help with exporting or with syncing to iTunes, please post back.
I'm caught up with something else at the moment, otherwise I'd give you full instructions now (just wanted to get this to you quickly).

  • Videos for mac

i have a attachment with wmv format (windows media Video) can i view this videos in mac or what program of mac can i use?

Unless you're able to find an early version of "Flip4Mac" that's OS 8.6-compatible, you'll need to upgrade your iMac to 10.3.9 and QuickTime 6.5 or newer to run the current version. For now, you can download/install Windows Media Player 7.1 for Mac. In addition to playing .wmv files saved to your hard drive, it will install a browser plug-in, so that .wmv content can be viewed in your browser window. With only 32 MBs of installed memory, you really need to add more, because Virtual Memory is a slower alternative and should be considered a temporary measure, when set to 2x the amount of installed memory (as you have it). If you're running the (now-discontinued) final release (v. 5.1.7) of Internet Explorer for pre-OS X Macs, it needs at least 20-25 MBs of memory assigned to it, to run smoothly. This memory allocation is completely separate from your iMac's system's memory requirements. Until you have more physical memory installed, you may experience system freezes running OS 8.6.

  • Using U tube videos in Mac Premiere Elements 11

Can I download u tube videos to mac premiere elements 11 to use in a project that I am working on?  If so, how do I do it?

    Barb
Mac or Windows or Premiere Elements 11 is not the question....
There are several software targeting video downloads from YouTube, I am told. BUT, last that I heard, none are considered legal for want of a better term. Last time I looked at this issue, the consensus was that the YouTube Agreement did not allow for this activity.
The following online article goes into fuller details on the matter.

How pinnacle can be used for streaming video for mac app?

    Hi naturalfemale,
As mentioned in the referring article, closed captioning content has to be specifically added/enabled to a video for closed captioning to function:
    Additional Information
Not all videos include caption or subtitle tracks. Check the documentation for the video you are using to see if it includes these features.
OS X: Using captioning features in Mavericks
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5910
At the moment, I do not believe there is an option for universal captioning.

    Hola Borja

  • StageVideo API (or other way to play hd video on mac / linux) ?

    Hi
Anyone have any clues if it possible to user the new StageVideo api in an desktop air app? Is it coming in future versions of air (Available in 2.5 sdk but not able to use it on desktop) ?
Having problem playing HD (1280 x 720) video on mac 2.5.1 and linux 2.5.1, bad framerates. StageVideo looks sweet.
Any other tips on how to play high def videos right now?
    Best,
    S

    Brian,
    Two parts of the question.
First, I don't know if you can use a USB stick to transfer files to the XBOX hard drive. If you can, that's cool news to me.
Second, I have used compressor to create movies that are viewable on an xbox connected to an HD projector. Try the MPEG-4 setting, found in the Apple/Formats/MPEG-4 folder. It should work for you. If not, you can try a bunch of different settings, compress the same vid like 8 or 10 different ways, and try them all on the xbox and see which one plays. That's what I did to see what works. Just compress a 1 minute movie with a bunch of different settings. But I am pretty sure that the MPEG-4 setting works.
    Thanks,
    Ken
