Video to match digital copy

Can anyone tell me if there is any software that will get me a video file to play on iPad that is the same quality and file size of a Blu-Ray digital copy movie?. I have tried out lots of different video convertors but the problem is that the quality is not as good as digital copy and the file size is much larger. Digital copy file size is about 1.2 GB. Most of the convertors produce a file size of almost 2GB and the quality is not as good.
Thanks in advance.

  • Purchased (digital copy) videos not working

I tried using the digital copy feature from some movies I have had yesterday, but for some reason they are not working. I have tried playing them in iTunes, and all I get is a grey screen. When I look at the chapters, they are all present, which confuses me. It is in mp4 format, so that shouldn't be the problem. If anyone can help me on here, please let me know. Thanks.

I've seen this solution posted to nearly every thread and it hasn't worked for me. I still get the blank screen and if I start messin around too much, iTunes ends of crashing. Any other ideas out there?

  • Digital Copy no longer showing in purchased movies

    Hello,
Last September I redeemed the Digital Copy code that came with the bluray of Star Trek: Into Darkness.  The movie downloaded and was also available on all of my devices via iCloud.  It has been in my purchased movie section of iTunes until recently, when it just disappeared.  Other movies I have redeemed via Digital Copy are still showing up.  I have been in touch with iTunes Store support chat and they said that they do not support Digital Copy movies even after they have been redeemed (obviously that was very surprising to me since it is technically an iTunes purchase, but just prepaid).  Does anyone have any ideas how I can restore this Digital Copy movie to my account?
    Thanks.

It's possible that the distributor isn't allowing redownloading for that film - from iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability :
1Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud.
You can view the purchase history on your account (which should show the film if was redeemed on that account, my digital redemptions show on mine) by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, on your account's screen there will be a 'Purchase History' section with a 'see all' link to its right - unfortunately it's not searchable.

  • Dark Knight Digital Copy doesn't run on iPod 5G

I recently purchased the Blu-Ray version of the Dark Knight (fantastic by the way), and thought that it would be great to be able to watch it on the go on my ipod. The 2-disc (well, really 3-disc including the digital copy) included a CD called Digital Copy. I put it into my Mac. I opened iTunes, clicked "Dark Knight" in the Devices list, and I entered my Redeem code.
After around 5 minutes, the movie downloaded successfully, and I was able to play it on my computer. I noticed that the resolution was 853x480, but I still synced it to my iPod.
I ejected my iPod, then on my iPod, went to Video->Movies->Dark Knight. After a few seconds, a loading screen comes up (a spinning object, really) and then it takes me back to my Movies menu.
How can I get my iPod to play the movie? If resolution is indeed the issue, how can I scale the video down to playable size? What IS a suitable resolution??
    Thanks in advance,
    -SB

The Digital Copy of Dark Knight is encoded and provided via a proprietary player. The resulting file that you downloaded from their site is NOT iTune or Quicktime compatible. It won't play in Quicktime Player, in iTunes nor will you be able to sync it to an iPod.
Nor can you convert the resulting file to a Quicktime or iTune compatible file (.mp4). Warner Bros has evidently taken great pains to keep this digital movie file within a encrypted format.
(I am writing this from experience. I too thought I could download and view the Dark Knight Digital Copy on my iPod. Once I read the fine print, I didn't even bother to download it.)
sorry to burst any bubbles out there.

  • HT1539 can i add my digital copy to itunes with out using the disk? my netbook does not have a disk drive and i want to add my movie to my ipod can i do it with out the use of the disk and just the code?

Can I add my digital copy movie to my iTunes with out using the disk, my gateway laptop/netbook does not have a disk drive I have the unused code and everything, I just can't stuck the movie into the computer itself and my desktop computer has no internet on it. Is there a way to add my movie to my iPod touch 2nd generation tuning 4.2.1

    Hiya!
It depends on what kind of digital copy you have.  This article goes ino details regarding the two types, and depending on the type you have, you may or may not need the DVD to redeem the code.

  • HT203167 i have a purchased hardcopy of dvd movie which included digital copy. i redeemed it last week and loaded it to my ipad3, this week it is gone from my ipad and is nowhere in itunes. how can get my paid-for copy now?

i redeemed a copy of a DVD / Digital movie last week in itunes tohen synced it to my ipad(3) now it is gone and itunes

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

Hmmm... this is news to me. I didn't know that movie studios were providing a digital copy along with a DVD playable on an iPod. Can anyone provide a reference to this?

  • New MacBook containsa form of digital copy protection - TRUE?

I was told that Apple's new MacBook lines includes a form of digital copy protection that will prevent protected media, such as DRM-infused iTunes movies, from playing back on devices that aren't compliant with the new priority protection measures.
The Intel-developed technology is called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and aims to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across a variety of display connectors, even if such copying is not in violation of fair use laws.
Among the connectors supported by the technology are the Mini DisplayPort found on Apple's latest MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air, in addition to others such as Digital Visual Interface (DVI), High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Gigabit Video Interface (GVIF), and Unified Display Interface (UDI).
Apple has apparently acquired a license for the technology and is now using it across its DisplayPort-enabled MacBook lines to to prevent transmission of purchased iTunes content to devices that don't include support for HDCP.
Will this mean that if I purchase legitimate Video/Movies form Apple I will no longer be able to play them on Windows OS, PS3, XBox etc?, I hope not?

Right you are guys, thank you so much for responding!
I found out today that if HDCP was my problem I would still be able to mirror my desktop onto my TV, ie my samsung LN32A450, but I can not. The adaptor works on many other things as I mentioned above but not my TV.
I have been speaking with Samsung today and they have no information about the issue other then sending a technician to my house to have a look and if it's not the TV's fault then I will be charged for the service.
    So summary;
    Apple = no advice
    Samsung = no advice
    MDP-VGA company = apple = no advice
Therefore I must trial and error it.
I checked for updated firmware for the TV, placed the file onto a flash drive and inserted into my TV driver was up to date .: no results also no updates for the macbook.
I went to futureshop and tried running my macbook on a samsung 450 series (same as mine) and a 550 series (next step up) and same thing, no video on the TV.
I then moved to a toshiba and it worked instantly, as well when I checked with tech support on campus they brought me to the campus computer store down the hall and we hooked it up to the toshiba in there and it worked right a way.
macbook +MDP-VGA + PC computer monitor = works
    macbook +MDP-VGA + projector = works
    macbook +MDP-VGA + toshiba HDTV = works
    macbook MDP-VGA LG HDTV= doesn't work
    macbook +MDP-VGA + samsung HDTV = doesn't work
I have been trying really hard to figure this out with no resolve and it's been terrible, If you guys can figure out this riddle you are doing better then me, Samsung, and Apple combined.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
oh and sorry for the comment about waiting for 10.6, I meant it would be brutal to have to wait for the next OS or replace my macbook again just to get this to work.
It might just be your Samsung TV being compliant to HDCP but not DPCP (Display Port Content Protection) which your Toshiba TV might be.

  • 3G iPhone + Dark Knight Digital Copy

I bought the Dark Knight two disc edition and extracted the Digital Copy into my iTunes Library. I've tried to sync it to my iPhone, but it doesn't seem to want to... I've added it to a playlist as well as checked the box for it in the Video tab. Does anybody know if Warner Bros excluded the iPhone from Digital Copy playback? Maybe I'm missing a step?
    Thanks!
    Patrick

I have the original iPhone and was able to transfer my digital copy of the Dark Knight to my iTunes Library and then sync it to my iPhone. It did take up a lot of memory as the film is 2hours and 32 minutes long. I suggest you try playing (a bit)it in iTunes first then trying to sync it again, as suggested.

No the codes are for Disney movies and DigitalCopyPlus.  ITunes is a vendor option but when I try to download with the iTunes option it sends me to the instructions for iTunes redemption and then I keep going in circles.  I've never had any issues in the past with these.

  • Activating a digital copy of a movie purchased overseas

    Hi
I am currently visiting family in New Zealand and have received a blu-ray film as a Christmas present. Included is a 'Digital Copy' of the film, but when I try to activate it in iTunes on my MacBook by entering the unique activation code, I get this messaage: This code is only valid for customers of the Australia or New Zealand Store.
My account is linked to the UK Store, and as a result it seems iTunes won't let me access the movie even though I'm in the country of purchase and the copy belongs to me.
    Does anyone have any ideas??
    Many thanks and Merry Christmas

First covert it to ipod format (if its not) then go in itunes, click on videos drag it in there....after that plug in your ipod then click on your ipod on itunes, then click videos in the ipod tab then click sync all han sync it
    I hope this helped

  • Digital Copy Files

I purchased a digital copy file from Disney movie club. I entered the activation code and it loaded into Itunes. I can watch the movie through ITunes but I cant get it to sync to my IPhone. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using the Video tab in the iPhone section of iTunes? If not, you have to go there and check it to sync with your iPhone.
If you are doing the above and it's still not working, you need to give more detail as to what happens, otherwise we won't be able to help you.

  • ITunes digital copy Bluray list

Hi, is anyone aware of a website that contains a list of available Blurays that come with an iTunes digital copy rather than UV. UV is such a nightmare and I would prefer all my digital copies to be in 1 place; iTunes cloud!

Update; I was able to transfer/sync Star Trek Into Darkness to my iPad. The movie works fine on the iPad.
As for the extras; The most important one was the commentary. I found the commentary video file from (Windows 7)/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Movies/Star Trek Into Darkness - iTunes Extras/Star Trek Into Darkness - iTunes Ext.ite/videos/enhanced_commentary.
I then dragged this commentary file to the iTunes/Library/Movies window. Then a blank icon for that appeared in iTunes.
And I was able to then sync the commentary to my iPad.
So, I've got what I most wanted on my iPad. It's just too bad that the Star Trek Into Darkness extras and the movie do not work properly in iTunes on my Windows PC.
