The use of terminology like "handcuffs," "theft-rates," "bondage," "greed" strikes me as hostile. Courtesy Webster online: "a: of or relating to an enemy; b:  marked by malevolence: having or showing unfriendly feelings; c: openly opposed or resisting."
I'm a bit stumped by the link you provide. I have not posted to that thread, and the quote you cite is instead from this very thread. Post 12, to be precise. Proceeding on the assumption that the link was simply a mistake on your part but the quote was what you intended to paste, I'd say "the easy way out" would have been to do nothing: let users continue to struggle with the problems caused by the disparity in effects and transitions across platforms. Instead, we opted to address the issue--in the manner we deemed best for the majority of our customers given the realities of deadlines, finite resources, and competing priorities. As it happens, I was directly involved in these decisions. In light of the small number of complaints I've seen in the 7 months since the release of CC2014, I'm comfortable with the choices we made.
But more to the point in light of the point you were attempting to make, I'm utterly baffled at how you think my statement substantiates your hyperbolic assertion that the CC releases of Premiere Pro are untested.
And now back to Oferez307's previously scheduled thread...

  • Importing videos shuts down Premiere Pro CC 2014

I have Premier Pro CC 2014.
I can drag and drop a video file into my editing window, or I can select import and browse to the file. However, when I try to play it, or do anything with it, Preimere stops working and tells me to shut down.
    Any advice?

  • Missing video transitions in Premiere CS6

    Greeting everyone,
It seems that I am missing some 3D motion transition effects in Premiere CS6. I only have Cube Spin and Flip Over, but I know (and have seen) more transitions on other people's installations. I can't seem to find anywhere to download them either. I assumed they came with base CS6, but I don't have them. Where can I download some more? Or how do I restore the ones that I should have?

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 encoding issues due to graphic opacity settings?

Our marketing team has been working on some instructional video content in Premiere Pro CC 2014 and have encountered issues with encoding the completed sequences. Our output format is HD video with the H.264 codec, 1920 x 1080, 30 FPS.
The symptom of the problem is that the encoding process cannot proceed beyond 50%, and in some cases, does not start at all. Simply put, we can't encode any videos to completion.
We think we have isolated the issue, which we initially believed was due to video format differences between the two cameras used to shoot the footage. An EPS logo was present throughout the video with reduced opacity (80%). When we removed the logo, the videos began encoding properly, and to completion. When the EPS logo was included at 100% opacity, the videos also encoded properly and to completion.
Has anyone else been encountering similar issues in Premiere Pro or After Effects CC 2014? If so, what was the resolution? Is there a known issue with the opacity of graphic assets in video encoding?

I've occasionally seen problems with say multiple masks & final render-out/exporting, but I've not seen one here on a graphic's opacity causing a problem. It's a very common part of the tool-kit, of course, for most pro/semi-pro editing. Even a lot of amateur stuff.
Which leads me to wonder what would happen if you created a fresh graphic of some sort, applied it a partial & full opacity, on a SHORT clip ... just to test things. Trying to establish if it's graphic opacity in general as your problem, or this specific graphic and/or its settings.

  • Missing video transitions in Premiere CC

I've only just upgraded to CC from CS6 last week and I've realised there are a LOT of video transitions missing. Now I'm not a big fan of the 'star wipe' and 'barn doors' cheese but I used 'sliding bands' ALL the time for titles for a particular client. Where the devil has it gone!?

  • Several video transitions are missing in Premiere Pro CC 2014.  Where are they?

I recently upgraded to Premiere Pro CC 2014 from Premiere Pro CC.  I had been working on a project using several video transitions which were no longer available in Premier Pro CC 2104.  I thought maybe they would show up in a later update, but so far I have not seen my video transitions including several zoom transitions and others.  What happened?

  • I'm having problem with exporting video from premiere pro cc 2014

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and I'm having problem with exporting video.
When I click Export and media, the window for exporting appears and it starts exporting video.
But after a few minutes, it looks like it has completed exporting video and says there's a bug in exporting.
It literally says it has a problem with compiling, but I don't know what the real problem is.
I tried many things like restarting computer and Premire Pro but it's no use.
But it works when I use Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 for exporting video.
If anyone knows any possibilities about why this problem happens, please let me know.

I'm having a similar issue.  When I go to export my project, I add it to the render queue, set it up with the h.264 settings that I've used with countless past versions of the program, and then hit render.  Randomly, at some point in the process, the render just stops and the ETA just keeps climbing.  I actually had to save an XMF file of the CC 2014 project and bring it into the previous CC version of Premiere just to finish it.  Even a clean re-install of CC 2014 doesn't work.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 Trial Version  - Error when importing mts and mp4 video files

First time using Adobe Premiere Pro (and I'm using the trial version).  When I try to import an mts video file (and tried to import an mp4 file as well), I get the error: Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 has stopped working.  And then the program crashes. Please help.

    Hi Catherine,
    Welcome to the Adobe forums.
Please try the steps mentioned below and check if it works for you.
    1. Launch Premiere Pro and create a Project, go to File menu>Project Settings>Renderer and change the Renderer to Software only mode, delete previews if you get a prompt and then try to import the clip.
    2. If step 1 fails or the Renderer is already on Software only mode, go to Start Menu and search for Device Manager, go into Display Adapters and Right click on the Graphics card to select Update driver software option, on the next screen choose "Browse my computer for driver software", then choose "Let me Pick from a list..." option and from the list select "Standard VGA Graphics adapters. You might need to change the screen resolution of your screen and once done restart the machine again.
Launch Premiere Pro and import the clip to check.

  • I am trying to screen capture a simulation session in captivate 6 and then edit it in premiere pro cc 2014 when I import the video into premiere, it is blurry

Caveat - I am relatively new to adobe captivate and premiere, so hopefully this is a simple setting issue that I have not been able to figure out.  When I do a video capture in captivate 6 the output mp4 is very clear.  If I play it in windows media player it is crisp and clear.  If I import that same mp4 into Premiere Pro CC 2014, it is very blurry.  My simulation has gauges and dials that need to be clear and I need to "mix" audio, narration, and system sounds into this video.  Any help would be extremely appreciated!

OK - back to my caveat.  When I select preferences in Premiere and look at the playback setting, I get options for Preroll, Postroll, Step forward/back many, mercury transmit, Audio device, Adobe DV and disable video output when in backgroud (all of which I am not smart enough to comprehend).
I apologize for my ignorance. So as I continued to read your question, I, of course googled "how to set playback resolution in premiere pro" and I learned how to do that....  They were set to 1/2.  I adjusted to full and it seems to be clear now....  I think you just helped me, help myself.  Thank you!  Did I get it right?  Is there any more you can recommend when it comes to taking a screen capture video and making it into an awesome demo?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
    Troy

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 imported video length mismatch

I've got a problem in Premiere Pro CC 2014 where the audio and video get out of sync the farther you go into the imported clip.  While troubleshooting I noticed that Premiere isn't properly reading the video length of the imported file.  Windows reports the right length, as do VLC and Handbrake, but Premiere shows a time about 30 seconds shorter than the real file.  I've included the file info from MediaInfo and Premiere here.  Windows reports a (correct) length of 1:56:39.  This happens on two different Windows computers both running the latest release of Premiere Pro.  Has anyone seen this?  I've tried to search for similar issues but haven't found anything like this.  Thanks!

Thanks Ann.  I noticed that in the MediaInfo output and thought it was strange, since I don't typically deal in variable frame rate footage.  After converting it to constant frame rate with Handbrake the problem appears to have been resolved.  I'm working to find out if the program that records the video can be switched to constant frame rate mode to fix this issue permanently.  Thanks for the help!

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 Video is too LARGE

    Hi all,
Just getting started with Premiere Pro CC 2014. I've imported a short clip to practice on, and the first thing I noticed is that the output video is too large for the screen:
Is there a way to fix this?
I don't know if this is related or not, but I also keep getting this:
It says the minimum screen resolution required is 1024 x 768. My screen resolution is 1366 x 768. Isn't that large enough?
Any help would be great - thanks!!

I think I've figured out the scaling issue. Any ideas on the screen resolution would be awesome.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 QuickTime Audio and Video Syncing problem

    Hi everyone,
I am having and issue when I import QuickTime video into Premiere Pro CC 2014. I've just started doing some editing so I am very new to all of this. I recorded video in Photo Booth on my mac. I exported the file to a .mov file and imported it in to Premiere. When I play the file in premiere everything is fine up until halfway through the video. The video starts to play faster than the audio and everything is off. When I play the video in QuickTime everything is fine. I don't know if I did something wrong when I imported the file but I am hoping for some help. Thank you.

I would be willing to bet the video is recorded as VFR, variable frame rate ... in other words, it creates more frames per second when it needs to for keeping up with screen changes, and less when it doesn't see much changing on your screen. This saves bandwidth of course, BUT ... PrPro is not setup to work well with VFR footage, it really needs CFR, constant FR. So ... highly recommended if your capture program doesn't allow setting CFR is the free program "Handbrake", which you can google for. Use that to convert the footage to CFR, then import that into PrPro.
