Video Trouble-Won't encode .mp4's to Ipod
I just bought Quicktime 7 pro for 1 purpose only, to encode movie formats into a format that Ipod can understand. However when I open a .mp4 movie into Quicktime 7 pro and click export into Ipod format, the application starts normal and then EVERYTIME it hits 8% complete the application stalls out? What's going on? The movie will play fully in quicktime 7, so there is no data flaws on my end, how do I fix this - or get my money back?

You may have to either adjust the dimensions or lower the data rates to get your .mp4 file to the iPod video settings.

HD Video's Won't Play on 2nd Gen Ipod Touch
I recently bought a 2nd gen ipod touch, i had owned one before, but that was when HD videos were basically just starting, so i had never had problems with getting tv shows on my ipod, i have recently downloaded 2 HD episodes of Family Guy, but whenever i try to put them on my ipod an error comes up that they aren't a supported format, is there a way i can trade these HD versions for SD versions, or a way that i can get a converter that can put them in the right format? (When i looked on itunes, i only saw hd episodes, because it was season 9 of family guy, i have no clue if there are any SD versions, so a converter would be the most helpful)
HD is NOT supported on the 2nd gen ipod touch.
Every time you download HD content, the SD version automatically is downloaded as well. Sync this version, not the HD version.
I would guess that there is an SD version/ Look more closely. -
A video that won't come off of my iPod Touch....
I downloaded a television episode off of iTunes and I can't get it off of my iPod.
I've tried making the proper sync options in iTunes, but nothing helps!
Please tell me I don't have to reset my iPod!Also, many of my artists in my music library have fallen under "various artists" even though there's no sign of "various artists" on the info if I click on a particular song in iTunes.

Windows media won't play mp4, audio no video

of a new operating system that would work. Guess I was mistaken?!?!?! I have the same problem I had with my old crappy desk-top, MP4 videos still don't play on Windows 8.1???? I get audio but no video????? just a black screen?????According to Microsoft support website, Windows Media Player still won't support MP4 files. Though we can make WMP play MP4 video by install some codec, sometime we still encounter can't play MP4 in Windows Media Player issue. MP4 is a container format which may contain multiple video and audio streams. And the video and audio stream can be encoded any of several ways. If the MP4 video or audio codec is not WMP installed codec supported one, Windows Media Player won't play MP4 video of this kind. In order to solve "Windows Media Player won't play MP4 files even when the appropriate codec is installed" and to successfully play any MP4 video in Windows Media Player, we had better convert MP4 to Windows Media Player more supported video format like WMV, AVI. My .MP4 video file won't "play video full screen" in Muse after I publish my .OAM out of Edge Animate. When I "Preview In Browser" through Edge it plays (I have created a shape and used the "play video full screen" snippet) in full screen mode just fine. When I "Preview Site In Browser" through Muse and click on the shape to PLAY VIDEO FULL SCREEN, it does nothing. I am new to both programs and can't figure out why it will work out of the preview window in Edge and won't work when I publish to Muse. Does anybody have an answer or a work-around for me?

Using the built in encode selected video files won't sync to iPad
Hi, how is it that when I right click on a video file and choose 'encode selected video files' then select 1080p sometimes they will sync to my ipad and sometimes they won't. It seems odd that my ipad air can record and edit 1080p but mavericks encode option doesn't make compatible 1080p video files.
The video files are recorded on a camcorder and I wanted to put them on my ipad to use ios's imovie.
Any ideas would be very helpful.
ThanksRestrictions are Off on the iPad. I was able to get the video onto my iPad by dragging and dropping it from the Playlist into the iPad on iTunes. I never had to do it that way before, but it worked. Very odd.

Video/Movie won't play when exported as a PDF.
Hello,
I am creating an interactive PDF using CS5 to display video work. Unfortunately, the video won't play when exported as an interactive PDF, I am just left with blank space. I find this very odd as it plays in preview and also when exported as a SWF but that file type is unsuitable for the project.
Initially when I exported it I got this message: "One or more of the interactive elements are clipped in ways the pdf files can't reproduce...." Obviously, I have ensured the file is resized correctly and also tried .mov, .mp4 and also .flv file types with no success. I have also checked the simple things like ensuring all the right boxes are ticked when I export.
This is not the first time I have embedded video but it is the first time without success despite following the same pattern. Any ideas as to why this would be and how to fix it?

LauraUse Flv or f4v format, after you have placed video into your layout, make sure that you don´t scale or crop video frame at all.
(Whren you File > Place a video, you will have a loaded cursor with video icon. Click the empty spot on page with loaded cursor, don´t draw a rectangle or click on the top of some exisiting frame)
It´s important that you have your video in 100% encoded size in your layout. If you need to scale or crop it, load that video into Adobe Media Encoder and do it there, and re-encode the video to the correct size and shape aftrwards.
Adobe Media Encoder ships with InDesign. -
Problem with transferring mp4 file to iPod Video
I used MediaFork to rip a DVD (that I own) to mp4. It looks great on my iMac and MacBook when running in QuickTime. I can import the file into iTunes.
I can play the file from within iTunes. However when I sync content to my iPod it does not show up!
When in QuickTime the following information is displayed in Movie Info.
Format: h.264 Decoder 640 x 480, Millions AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 khz
Data rate 1610.00 kbits/second
Every once in a while the Playing FPS changes to > 24 (like 24.10)
Is the data rate the problem??? Or what else could be the problem?

Also, in MediaFork, did you set the encoder to the option marked for iPod?
If not, that could be a problem. Output from the encoder labeled MAIN won't work on an iPod.

For some reason iMovie '11 won't let me import videos. Specifically, I'm trying to add MP4 files that I copied to my hard drive from my GoPro HD 960. For GoPro users, I used the R2 (720p) format. They open properly in QuickTime and VLC but can't be imported into iMovie (or iPhoto). When I select File-->Import-->Movies and browse to the directory where I saved all the .mp4 files on my hard drive, they're all greyed out. And actually, it seems that just about no video files at all on my computer can be added (all greyed out)--even other MP4 files.
I downloaded MPEG Streamclip but that says "unrecognized file format" when I try opening the videos. I also installed Perian and rebooted.
In case it helps:
- I have an Intel MacBook running OS X 10.6.8 with iLife '11
- QuickTime info for the video format says "H.264, 1280 x 720, Millions; AAC, 2 channels, 48000 Hz"
- VLC says "Stream 0 (Video) - Codec: avc1" and "Stream 1 (Audio) - Codec: mp4a"

Front Row won't play .mp4 files
I just recently started using Front Row and, for some reason, it won't play .mp4 files. The said files are in my Movie folder and show up in Front Row's "Movies" menu, but when I try to play them it says "Selected video could not be played, format was not recognized."
Please help!!iTunes only supports MP4s encoded using the Main Profile, but many MP4s that you can download from the web are encoded using High Profile. These need to be converted.
You can use an app like VideoSpec or MediaInfo to list the encoding characteristics of your MP4s. -
iTunes 11 previously imported a video file, which I loaded on to my iPod Nano, but I removed the file from the iTunes library and now it won't (re-)import the same video.
I'm using 2 PCs, each with video files (.MP4) on their respective hard drives, and also one external drive with other video files on that I move between the two devices.
iTunes on one PC will (sometimes!) let me add video content from the external hard drive, which is clearly iTunes-compatible, because I can then copy it over to my iPod Nano. On the other PC, I couldn't load that same video from the external hard drive. But if I copied that same video on to the PC's internal hard drive first, then iTunes would let me import it. That was yesterday - now iTunes is refusing to load any files from the internal or external hard drive(s).
Any thoughts or suggestions, please?So I tried copying the files from the external hard drive to a USB drive. I could import the video files from the USB drive!
So then I tried importing the same files on to my PC's internal hard drive again. I could import the video files from the internal hard drive!
So then I tried to import the very same files that failed to load on the very same PC previously. I could now import them!
I still can't import from the external hard drive directly, though.
I really don't think I like the process of importing things into iTunes very much... any suggestions on what's causing any of this behaviour would be very interesting. -
Premiere Pro CC won't encode anymore

I'm in troubles with PPCC. I'm running the latest update. The problem is this: if i cancel a rendering during the encoding,after this operation PP won't encode anymore. I have to open a new project and import the old project to encode again. My system:

DX58SO
12GB ram
GTX680 4GB
I use an MXO2Mini with MAX but the problem is not related to Matrox hardware since i've plug out it from the pc.When this problem happens the menù windows doesn't respond anymore. I click File and move to the Export line and nothing happens untill i click with the mouse. If this happens i know that PP won't encode anymore. I mean,i can choose my output format,the encoding window appears,but nothing happens. If i queue in Media Encoder the problem is still there.Nothing happens. If i don't want to open another project and import the old one,i have to reboot my pc. Closing and opening again PP doesn't work. I have close from task manager every Adobe app (dynamic link,service manager etc...),but it doesn't works.
I have Encore CS6 on my system with AME CS6 (i can't uninstall AME CS6 only. If i do i will loose Encore too...)
I have noticed that the UI is not working correctly too. If i select Effects in the Effects window,the selection box in which i can write the name of the effect is grayed out and i have to click in that area before i can see the cursor.
So...in the end...i'm having a lot of troubles with CC apps! I can't use AE for the menu delay and PP is really unstable on my system.

I have used Suites from CS5.5 and CS6. I have tested my system for a long time and never experienced issues. So i don't think that the problem is in my system (two years old and a LOT of stuff made with it!).
I'm changing my motherboard to add more ram,but i think that my current setup is really good for editing.Thank you for the reply Jim,but i've already uninstalled and reinstalled PP just to see if i have a problem with installation. I have used Adobe cleaner tool before reinstall all CC apps,but the result is the same.

Adobe Media Encoder .mp4 not playing on iOS
trying to get my video to work on iOS.
i know it has to be .mp4 and i have various videos i have successfully encoded but some do not work when I render them as .mp4
I have been taking the .mov files (they were rendered to QT using Animation)
using Adobe Media Encoder h.264 which gives me a .mp4 file. (but like I said...some are not working on iOS).
so what is the traick with Adobe Media Encoder???

Photoshop CS5 Extended won't covert mp4 files to layers?
I recently downloaded cs5 and it won't download .mp4 files to layers. whenever i go to file > import > video frames to layers, the mp4 files are greyed out and i can only click on .avi files.
there is no high quality converter from mp4 to avi, so it's quite frustrating.
any ideas about what may be wrong?

Try importing it as a layer inside an already open file:
Layer > Video Layers > New Video Layer From File
If that still doesn't work, try:
File>Place
but it will be opened as a smart object
