VIDEO_TS not included in final disc

I have already Built the project. When I hit "format" to burn the DVD, in the Log, it states that :
Warning: The file ‘MENU.layout’ found in the VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc.
Warning: The file ‘VOB_DATA.LAY’ found in the VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc.
The final disc that is burned, plays on my dvd player. BUT, if i want to duplicate it, it does not work. Any ideas?

Hey freshprod
welcome to the apple DVDSP forums
ok, this particular message comes up because you are burning either a .img or a VIDEO/AUDIO_TS disc (a regular playing disc). the error only affect those 2 files IN the Video_TS, not the .VOB, .IFO, or the .BUP files (which are needed to playback on DVD players.
so basically, dont worry about those errors.
as for the duplication problem. how are you trying to duplicate them?

  • VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder files not included in final disc

I'm trying to burn an HD DVD project and after the compile completes successfully I get a string of error messages in the Log telling me that the .BUP, .IFO, .EVO, .LAY files found in VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc. When I try to play the finished disc in a regular set-top DVD player it doesn't play. (It will play in an Apple Computer)
I can't figure out how to fix this.

I don't know why you are getting those errors. Maybe someone else will come along and help with that.
You are still using a media that has a very small range of options to play. I would start a new SD DVDSP project and take things from there.

  • Warnings of files not being included in final disc

I've had a terrible time trying to learn to burn a movie DVD for my kids to play on their TVs/DVDs and was hoping someone here recognizes what I've done wrong. I've created a sequence in Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 (part of FCP Studio 2), used compressor to create the files ending in .ac3 and .m2v (and it also created one ending in .aiff). I imported these into DVD Studio Pro 4 and created a menu with 4 chapters (marked in the timeline). Not sure from the manual if I linked them right or not, but seems that I did. Then when I clicked build/format that worked well (said it was successful). But when I went to burn it I got the following messages in the Build Log.
Warning: The file ‘IVEY_20022003.layout’ found in the VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc.
Warning: The file ‘VOB_DATA.LAY’ found in the VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc.
I tried burning this to both a DVD-R and a DVD+R. Both show only the menu screen when I play it on a DVD player, but give the "Not Available" circle with a slash indicator when I tried to play them, use any DVD remote command button, or click on a menu graphic.
    What have I done wrong?
What other info do you need to know?
    TIA

The problem is that you have created a HD DVD, not a SD DVD. HD DVDs will not play in stand alone DVD players. You need to delete the VIDEO_TS and HDDVD_TS folders that DVD SP created. Then open up DVD SP and get into the Preferences and change the settings to SD DVD. The bad news is now you have to start all over again and create your project again in DVD SP. You cannot start from your old project.
The warnings about .layout and .LAY files can be ignored. They are not the problem.

  • CHAPTER BUTTON NOT WORKING ON FINAL BD-DISC

    Hello,
I read several posts here about chapter issues but none of them addressed exactly to my problem.
So I have my HD (blu-ray) project on Encore 5 and have set 8 chapter markers. Each one is linked to a menu button that works perfectly.
It`s a simple project and works fine on the preview. But not on the final disc when playing in the BD player.
The next button on the remote control does not works. It also shows chapter 1/1.
The end actions set on each chapter is a link to the next chapter. E.g - The end actions set to chapter 2 a links to chapter 3. Except to the last chapter that has no end actions set.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    I appreciate any helps!
    Bruno

I'm not sure if this is a playlist.
I've just set the chapter markers on the timeline.
Anyway, Is possible to use chapters on Encore for BD discs and have them work on blu-ray player remote control?
    Thanks!

  • Fails to burn - not including files!!

    Hello there,
I'm in the process of trying to burn two DVD's I've created. They build fine but when they go to format they always fail. In the log window it comes up with multiple errors such as this:
Warning: The directory "/Volumes/ANNADRIANACACIA/FINAL PROJECTS' will not be included in the final disc.
From look at them all of these warnings are files that need to be on the disc because they have the same names as the movie files that need to be seen... I've never had this problem before and I'm not sure what to do. I completely rebuilt the DVD today thinking that might solve the problem but it's still having the same issue.
Any help would be great! The deadline for it is approaching fast!
    Thanks!

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

  • MPEG2 codec not working in Final Cut Pro on Mac OSX Tiger

We have been using the File-export-Quicktime Conversion-MPEG2 codec for exporting of files from Final Cut Pro to DVD Studio Pro. On the new mac system that was just bought, the option does not show up.
Currently the system is running Quicktime Pro 7.1.2/ FCP 5 and DVD Studio Pro 4 and it is a new mac system running Mac OSX Tiger.
This problem has happened before on a mac running on an older system, but that was solved by reinstalling FCP and then DVD Studio pro and making sure that the QT Pro was of the latest version.
Right now, we have reinstalled everything the same way, tried installing DVD Studio Pro after, we have also done a full software update of the software over the net.
The codec is still not working, all the macs in the office are supposed to be upgraded to Mac osx tiger, but right now we can't do so, cos then we wouldn't be able to burn any DVDs.
    Please help, thanks.

The installation of QT 7 is the culprit behind the missing MPEG-2 Export Component. But during upgrades, it doesn't always get rid of the file ... probably what happened on your older system when you upgraded to QT 7 or Tiger. Either the new system came with QT 7 preinstalled, therefore not including the Export Component, or if it was upgraded, the upgrade missed it.

  • Will Not Boot from Install Disc  & 4SNS/1/40000000: TG0D - Thermal Sensor?

*Will Not Boot from Install Disc*
I used the "option key" approach with the gray start up disk. At first it ejected the start up disk. Then I nudged the disk back in the machine and it showed on the screen as an option. I clicked on the start up disk image and it finally loaded.
But, it won't accept the start up disk when holding down the "C" key at restart.
    *4SNS/1/40000000: TG0D*
I did an Apple Hardware Test and received the following diagnostic:
    Version: 3A121
    Test Suite: Extended Test
    Loop Count: 2
    Result: Failed
    Failure code: 4SNS/1/40000000: TG0D

A search for the failure code 4SNS/1/40000000: TG0D brought up an Apple Discussion topic entry stating: That error code indicates a problem with a thermal sensor. It could be not working or possibly not connected. You will need to take it to Apple for repair.
Would a thermal sensor have anything to do with it not starting up when holding down the "C" key at restart? What are thermal sensor problem symptoms?

  • Following Media Files Are Not Optimized For Final Cut Pro

I'm sure you've seen this before and I've tried to search for a thread on it here and fell asleep, so sorry if this is a repeat.
I have edited projects in Premiere Pro (on my PC) and I have tried to transfer them in FCP. It worked with the exception of two things:
    1. the error message, "Following Media Files Are Not Optimized For Final Cut Pro"
    2. the quality *****! watching it on the playback in FCP it looks great, but then when I burn it to Disc it's pixelated in spots and generally has a lower quality picture.
I know that it's Standard Def. and can't expect the best, but I've done it before (once or twice) and it didn't seem this bad.
Can someone suggest anything to help the quality? Should I run my AVIs through MPEG Steamclip to make it a QT file and if so what is the best format in that since there are many to choose from and most I'm not familiar with?
    Thank you,
    Crayton

I did compress them to DV NTSC then burned it to DVD and the result was no bueno.
I thought what I would do is try compressing them again before I send them on over to DVDSPRO. Here is a simplified break down of the situation:
    - I have edited the raw footage in Premiere Pro on my PC. They were recorded and captured as SD.
    - I rendered them in Premiere, then transfered the rendered AVI file to FCP.
    - When went to place the files in FCP, I received the warning message; "Following Media Files Are Not Optimized For Final Cut Pro" but I went forward anyways and it allowed me to do so.
    - Originally I went ahead and compressed them from FCP to QT Movie as a DV NTSC, which ended up poorly.
    - Therefore my question is, should I compress them using another file type (other then DV NTSC)? Which leads me to another program that I have called MPEG Streamclip, which offers tons of file types of which I am unfamiliar with most. I want the best quality of course but don't know what file type is the highest going from AVI to a format that can be accepted by FCP and ultimately DVDSPRO. Keeping in mind that I only have FCP5 and do not have Prores.
    Did that make sense?
    Thank you again,
    Crayton

  • Idvd was not included with my mac mini how do I burn movies?

dvd was not included with my mac mini how do I burn movies?

It is now confirmed that iDVD and iWeb have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
In addition the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on.
HOWEVER, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those copies still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD.
You can purchase the iLife 11 boxed disk at the online Apple Store while supplies last or possible at Amazon.com or eBay.com.

A few months ago, I purchased a new iMac. I recently created a movie using iMovie. Then I found out that iDVD is not included. So I have the problem that I want to burn a movie that I can play on my DVD player and watch on a television. I rang Applecare and was told that I need a program called BURN.
Is this correct? I can export the movie from iMovie in a m4v format, but I think I need to convert this to iso format before I can burn the disc.
I know there are programs like TOAST that will do this, but it is expensive.
I would be very grateful for any assistance.

Burn will not do what you want, and there is no real substutute for iDVD.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac?
Apple insists that the entire world has access to fast broadband (and are prepared to pay for the considerable bandwidth usage) and wants to distribute home movies to friends and relatives via download (iCloud, YouTube, Facebook, whatever) rather than mailing them a DVD. The fact that in reality not all users do, has so far had no effect on this policy. If you scream and shout loudly enough down the phone Apple may send you a free copy of iDVD. Stating that they would return their brand new Mac unless they received a copy of iDVD worked for some, but that is now said to have been withdrawn by Apple.
Also, you can complain bitterly via Apple’s Feedback link, perhaps suggesting that Apple could have provided a choice between burning DVDs and distributing home movies by other means. You may feel that Apple should not dictate how you destribute family videos or photos to distant relatives and friends, and should not assume that every user is prepared to pay for the excessive bandwidth usage charged by ISPs for huge downloads from the App Store:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that came with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or that comes with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD 7, i.e. iLife version 9 onwards. You should also do this if you plan to buy a new Mac anytime soon, as stocks of iLife that include iDVD will not be available for ever.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD. Also, of course, there is Roxio Toast, which is the best software for burning anything but again does not offer the flexibility of iDVD.
And if you think Microsoft are any better, their new Windows 8 operating system will not play DVDs, or burn them, unless customers buy an extra upgrade, the company has announced:  http://www.gizmag.com/windows-8-no-dvd-playback/22443/
In other words, computer manufacturers have declared optical media as dead, long before consumers are ready to stop using them, which is fine as long as they offered us a choice, but they won’t even do that. Flexibility and intuitive use of a computer seems to be a thing of the past.

  • Photos not showing up on disc

I am fairly new to photoshop and am learning alot.  I love the tutorials.  I recently did a photo shoot for a friend at her daughters birthday party, spent days editing and fixing the pictures and finally copied them do a disc.  She took them home to look at them and none of the pics show up!  The file is present, but no photos!  Does she need photo shop in order to see the pics on her computer?  HELP!

    Hi,
Photos are not showing up on discs because you had not burned the photos to the DVD. Sending the files to the DVD doesn't actually burn the files on the DVD. If you insert the DVD to the computer from which you copied then on opening DVD it it will show you the files , but to see the files on any other computer you need to burn the files to the disk.
To answer to your second question neither photoshp nor any other software can help you in this regard.
    Thanks,

  • Header not included in PDF??

Why when I share a spreadsheet as a PDF, it does not include the header or footer?

    Jordan,
Yes, that seems to be an oversight in the Export code. You will get the header and footer fields if you Print to PDF instead of exporting. There is little difference in the final product otherwise, as far as I can tell.

  • Elements 10 backup from XP - restore to W7 - restore does not include any duplicated pics

    Hi,  hope someone can help?
I am a new user to Elements10 and originally installed it onto an XP desktop.    I have since upgraded the desktop to Windows7 and want to transfer my images and elements catalog.  I have performed a full backup of my catalog from the XP os, via the backup process in Elements (which says successful) and performed a restore onto the W7 desktop retaining the original folder structure (also via Elements).
Despite doing this several times, I always get error messages saying the restore cannot restore a selection of .xml files, but if I continue with the backup it finally says "successful".
However when I compare the number of restored images, with the originals, it appears I am over 700 files short!       A bit of investigation indicates that the restore is not restoring any duplicate images (those with identical file names but in different folders), but only restores one copy of the image.    I can't check all 700 files individually, but can someone confirm if this expected behaviour, so that I can stop worrying that I have lost 700+ images?
    Thanks
    Steve

Ah... as per my 1st post, I am a new user to Elements.    Apologies,  I have been approaching this from the wrong direction!   I have checked back on my original XP disk and Elements catalog, and it appears that when I set up the original catalog against my existing pics it did not include any duplicate files, therefore the Backup\Restore is correct, it is the original cataloging of my pictures that did not work as expected.     Do I have to do anything specific to get the catalog to include duplicate file names?
    Sorry for the misdirection
    Steve
    Steve,
The basic rule of database management is to forbid duplicates.
In the case of the Organizer, that would mean changing one of the two above criteria (date daken or file size in kB). That would be possible outside of the Organizer by using external tools, but the problem is that you don't know which files are concerned...
Now that you have restored your catalog in your new catalog, a theoretical solution would be to get back to the old catalog, and use the organizer to delete all the files in the catalog. The remaining ones would be the duplicates. Creating a new empy catalog and importing the remaining files would recover all duplicates. You could then restore on the new PC.
    There are still two problems:
    - You can't delete a big number of files at the same time? You'd have to delete by small batches
    - You'll have all your duplicates in your new PC, but you still won't be able to include them in the main catalog even you have now a special catalog with only the duplicates.
So, the final question may be : why do you want to keep duplicates? You can examine the duplicates catalog and see if they are really necessary. Maybe you can live with two different catalogs.

I'm little confused because I thought when all exams for certificate are passed then results should not be visible in 'Exam History' only but also in 'Certification History'.
Two weeks ago I passed [1Z0-047 Oracle Database SQL Expert|http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=189] exam and after some problems I'm finally able to see result in CertView,
but it's in 'Exam History' only and i'm not sure is it correct or it's another problem because there are no more exams for this certificate so shouldn't be also marked as certificate under 'Certification History' ?
ThanksThe answer is that it should. And should be in shipment status soon also.
However there may be a lag between the two.
(Exam history load process may be different to certification evaluation process ... which is a set of rules).
And as Sun/Java Certifications are currently being loaded there may be a delay/problem that wouldn't normally occur.
Your OTN registration is today .. so that you've only just logged into certview ... so some problems with that may just have been cleared also.
My suggestion is to wait 2 days (or at least 24 hours) and if it doesn't correct itself raise an issue: http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP

Or, you can upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
    B. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
