  • I mistakenly changed the video type to iTunes U

I was intending to classify it as a TV Show. Now I cannot see it on my Itunes U library therefore I cannot change the video type to the originally intended TV Show. I know the file exists by using Finder and browsing all the way down to Itunes U folder, but I can't edit the information (actually the "get Info" box in Finder is completely different from the "get Info" box in Itunes).
How can I make this files show up in Itunes U so that I can change the video type once again? Is there a way I can change the video type form outside Itunes?

Does it show up if you create a smart playlist with the rule Name is <Name>, or a similar constuction using the details you can recall? If so then you will be able to reset the Media Kind.

  • How do you change a video type?

I want to know how to change a video type like TV Show or Movie so when you go on your iPod under videos it will audomadicly have a section called TV Shows or something with whatever you wanted to be in that catergory in there. Help me please!

    Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Right-click your video in iTunes and select "Get Info" from the pop-up menu. Then click on the "Options" tab, and change the type under "Video Kind:"
The video type cannnot be changed on TV Shows or movies purchased from iTunes. It can be changed on a Video Podcast though.

  • Programmatically controlling NI-1407 standard video types

Is it possible to programmatically control the standard video type on a NI-1407 Frame Grabber. For example, switch between RS-170 and CCIR within LabView code. (I know this is a simple chore if you utilize MAX)

    J Mazzetta,
The information for the current camera type in contained in a text file in the IMAQ/data folder. You can parse this file and change the text string identifying the camera file. Here is a link to a KB on our website with an example to do this:

    thanks
    JBJ

To be on the safe side since you have a converter convert the video to 3gp, all Nokia phones can play that for sure.

  • I have a Mac OS X version 10.3.9, I cannot find a browser that is up to date and will play any video type files. Could anyone tell me if there is something up to date?

I have a Mac OS X version 10.3.9. I cannot find a browser that is up to date or one that will play any video type files. Could anyone tell me if there is something up to date? or can the software be updated on this computer to get up to date?

Visit MacUpdate or CNET Downloads and search for browsers. However, I doubt you will find any contemporary browsers that work with Panther.
Have you considered upgrading your OS, if possible, or getting a newer computer?
BTW, you've posted this in the Servers and Enterprise Software forum. In the future you should post in the appropriate forum for you question. This forum isn't the right one. Mac OS X v10.3 and earlier would be the right place to start.

  • Wave in slow motion video type

Hi.When i use slow motion video type, it is some waves in the picture and i think its because of a problem.but when i use video type there is not any wave.
what is the problem and what should i do?

Thanks for your reply.  My source footage consists of MTS files from an AVCHD camcorder.  The files are 1080i anamorphic, so 1440x1080, with an aspect ration of 1.333 and a framerate of 29.97fps.  I used one of the AVCHD sequence templates in Premiere CS5 that matched the video files.
I'm exorting using the H.264 Bluray preset for 1080i.  I tried several of the profiles (1080p, etc), but they all end with the same bad result.  The video plays, but seems to be playing at half speed.  My 15-minute clip takes 30 minutes to play, even though the timline in VLC or WMP reports at 15 minutes.  The audio sounds fine, but stops after 15 minutes (as it should).  It's obviously out of sync, since the video is playing at half speed.
I have read a few other articles indicating it might be an issue with the way Premiere is interpreting the interlaced footage from the MTS files?  This is beyond my area of knowledge.
When I encode using the MPEG-2 Bluray profile, it works fine.  The video playback speed is normal.
My end goal is to edit my MTS files from the camcorder, encode using the H.264 profile, and place in an MKV container for playback on my XBMC-based HTPC.  I'm also considering exporting as a high-bitrate MPEG-2, then using another encoder (HandBrake, etc.) to create the x264 MKV.  Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Internet Explorer Unsupported video type or invalid file path? HTML 5

    Hello.
First I would like to salute all you people out there that answer questions in these forums. Thank you! They have been more helpful than my Web Design class.
Here is my problem. I cannot get Internet Explorer to play my video files. It says Unsupported video type or invalid file path. I have added the .htaccess file for MIME types, and included .mp4, .ogg, and .webm. I have also included a smaller resolution for mobile. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
Also if anybody could explain to me in an idiot proof way how to add flash support step by step for this site that would be great. I have searched all over the internet, read many tutorials, used the free code makers, and I still cannot get flash to work.
This is my first website, please go easy on me!

    Thanks everybody

  • Need More Video Types

When can we expect to have more choices for Video type?
Movies and Music Videos covers only so much.
How about Home Movies, Cartoons, Shorts, or creating custom categories?

I think the videos are very new to Apple and the rest
    of the world...
New to Apple maybe, but the rest of the world...no.
On a related note: Since iTunes has 1 SciFi show (BSG), I wonder if Apple's gonna offer downloads of Doctor Who 2005 (technically season 27) since it starts on SciFi next month.

  • Viewing different video types on websites with Safari

I've been having this problem for a while and am finally looking to do something about it. I' pretty sure that I have Windows Media Player, Real Player, and Flash Player plug-ins installed on my Mac, but Safari never seems able to use them when certain webpages require them for media content. Sometimes I get a message from Safari asking if it should try Windows Media player, and then it plays fine. Are all types of video on different websites supposed to just play as long as I have the plug-ins? Or am I wrong about that? What do I need to do so that each player will be used when needed? Should I uninstall everything and reinstall clean? Are there other steps I need to take like changing preferences or something?

OK, sorry, the Save As Web Application option (under save as) is perhaps not available in Safari 3.1.2.
I forgot that I was using the developers version of Safari 4. Ooops!
(No, I don't know when the final version will be released.)

  • What's the proper workflow to combine multiple video types and turn them into one high quality DVD?

I'm trying to combine 1080i (29.97fps), 1080p (29.97fps), and 720p (24fps) video files into a single Premiere Pro project, and end up with a high quality DVD.
There are a few problems I can't solve:
    1. There seems to be interlacing and clarity issues any time I export it to DVD dimensions (720x480), and on some TVs I'll get a bouncing motion on the 720p footage (slideshow). Yet everything seems to look perfect when I export it something like an HD MOV file.
    2. If I use Final Cut X to make the DVD, I'll get audio popping and decent image quality. Yet if I use Encore, I'll get horrible interlacing, but good audio.
I don't have any training in video workflow let alone how to properly diagnose and solve problems that arise. So I need someone to lay out the proper workflow and settings from start to finish to get these three different types of footage to look great on a DVD using Premiere/Encore.
I've attached sample images showing the types of footage I'm using and the kind of problems I'm running into for reference.

By far the best way to get the quality of encoding is to use Compressor and not DVDSP. You can set Compressor up to do the AC3 (which DVDSP can't do). Alternatively, use a better encoder than Compressor, such as BitVice or MegaPEG.X... but remember that these do not do AC3 encoding.
Keep the encoded assets all in a single folder on your mac, then drag that folder into the DVDSP 'Assets' tab. This will import them all and keep them in the folder, which is a neater way of doing things. Select all of the clips within the folder (or simply select the folder itself) and drag them on to the track - they will go on in alphabetic or numeric order (whichever you have used as your names). If using numbers, remember to use '01', '02', etc otherwise clip ten, eleven, twelve and so on will follow clip one... clip two will come after clip 19.
Drop them all on a single track. You can then point a menu button at the track and all of the clips will play one after the other. If you want black in between then you will be better adding this in a NLE such as Final Cut, then exporting the entire sequence of clips as a single file. Alternatively, create a black .pict file the correct dimensions for the video format you are using and manually add it in between each clip on the timeline. Or, create a series of black .pict files and name them 011, 021, 031 and so on. Place them in your folder of clips with the MPEGs named 01, 02 and so on. When you select all and drop it onto your timeline within DVDSP a black clip will go in between each piece of footage (sequence will be 01, 011, 02, 021, 03, 031 ). This is probably the quickest way to do it. You can reuse the same black .pict files for every project like this and as long as you follow the same naming convention it will always work.
Like anything you want to automate, the first couple of times take longer to set up. After that it is a lot easier.

  • Restriction to video types when sharing?

I set up Home Sharing on my Apple TV2, as well as my Windows 7 Home Premium system.  Tested it out, and looks good.. I had iTunes running and was able to view my photos on my television via the Apple TV box.
So, I wanted to try viewing some movies.. I had none in iTunes, so I added a folder containing some vids to the itunes library.. so far so good.  All the movies played fine in itunes, but ONLY the MPG movies played on my TV --- NONE of the MP4 files were displayed as available to play on the TV.
I find it odd that pc-type files like mpgs play via home group, but none of the apple-type mp4 movies will play.  Is there a restriction in the types of movies that can be shared on Home Group?

Just because a video plays in iTunes does not necessarily mean it will play on Apple TV. If however it does play in iTunes you can use iTunes to convert the video into a format that is supported by the Apple TV. You should read this support document.

  • What video types can I edit in iMovie?

  • Can't Set Video Type

I had to upgrade to v8 to use the new firmware on my iPhone. With v8 I can not set the type of video file. I used to be able to right click and go to "Get Info", and then in the videao tab choose what kind of video file it was, ie movie, podcast, or music video. This feature seems to be absent. I have reinstalled iTunes8 3 times after ensuring it was vacant from my registry.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and could not find an answer. Where can I access that feature? I have looked for that option as well and could not find it.

  • What movie-video type files for a windows PC

I have some movies (4.m4v type files) and videos (flv files) that I wish to send to a windows PC user.
Will they be able to view them with their normal windows software, or will I have to convert them
to other type files - if so... what type ?
    Thanks
    K

I recommend Gom Player. It can handle a wide variety of file formats including the ones you have stated. It is free and can be downloaded from http://www.gomlab.com. It can also play incomplete files and thus, very useful for unfinished downloads.
