Video upload size to MoblieMe?

I got a new iPhone 4G. I use iPhoto '09 to download my videos. I want to publish them to a Mobile Me Gallery, but they take for ever to upload because they are HD. Is there a way to upload the videos from iPhoto in a smaller format to Mobile me?
Kevin

Yes. There are two ways:
1- in iPhoto export the slideshow/video with one or more of the options checked to get a variety of sizes, like mobile and medium:
Or import the the video into iMovie 09 and export to a MMe gallery at multiple sizes.
Then you can get a MMe gallery like this one: http://gallery.me.com/toad.hall#100411 or the same gallery embedded in an iWeb page: Adding a MMe Gallery from iMovie 09.

  • Need help with video uploading in flex 4

hey guys... so i need to create a video uploading application... with video chunking...
basically i need to break up the video file (may be 1Gig or more in size) in pieces and send it to the server using a method i call from my webservice...
    any ideas??
i believe this process is called chunking... not sure how to do this...
thank you very much in advance!!!

dude. some time itunes just doesnt support drag and drop techniques . just try the simple copy and paste(ctrl(c+v)). if that file is gonna be played on the ipod u get a small tab box in the itunes that the file which u r copying is being processed .
even if this technique doesnt work , then thats a faulty format . u can try another video converter . say videora or Aplus video converter . u will find them in www.download.com

  • Videos uploaded by users

    Hello,
I'm trying to find a solution to my problem, any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I've exhausted all my limited knowledge and reading materials.
I am looking for a way to allow users to submit video files, likely in excess of 200MB.  As far as I can tell from what I have read, PHP is limited to 2MB and if PHP isn't my web hosting service is so either way I'm in trouble.  I do not want the users to have access to the videos or even see that there are other videos in the upload folder; any program that I find that seems like it may allow for larger files is a file sharing program and outside the realm of what I am looking for.
Is there programming that I could do which would link directly to my FTP site, but only in a one way capacity for the user?  I'm building the site in Dreamweaver, but could move this discussion to the Flash forum if that would be a more intelligent place to go.
I have no problem purchasing books or other training materials if anyone knows of such materials that address this question.  Free information is always good too, but given the nature of this inquiry I imagine the solution, if it exists, is rather involved.
Again thank you for your time.

The webassist software is only for complete uploads/downloads as far as I am aware, but you should check with them.
There is a way to 'break-up' files into smaller pieces, but this would mean uploading 100 separate files, which is not really an option.
Definitely check with your server provider, and if they are not willing to increase the upload default limit (don't forget there is a bandwidth issue here also), then check with other server providers as some do specialize in allowing large file sizes, especially for video uploads/downloads.
As for file sharing providers then choose one that offers 'authorized users only', (sorry, no recommendations). An alternative would be to allow the uploads via your normal ftp log-in password  (you could use the webassist software for this), to a specific folder as this would be transparent to your user, but there are some serious security issues to overcome with this method.

  • Video uploading from DV camera no longer breaks into scenes

When I first started using iMovie 4 my video uploaded as it was supposed to, breaking into distinct scenes on the clipboard. For about a year now iMove stopped uploading correctly and began uploading video only in large 9 minute blocks. This is obviously not very convenient when you want to quickly find a scene. I would like to understand why this might have happened and how I might restore the correct function.
My preferences have "Automatically create new clip at scene break" checked. What could be wrong?
    Frustrated!
    Richard

Have you actually checked the footage you are importing to see if there is data and time date stamped in the footage? This is to check to see if the date stamp is ok and a problem with iMovie or if there is no date stamp (or one long continuious one across all the footage) in which case iMovie is acting normal and you have an issue with your footage, video camera, etc.

  • Video output size to use for a (horizontal) Lower Third.

Hi. I would like to know what the video output size to use for a (horizontal) Lower Third. I will be very grateful for your help. Thanx in advance. Sam.

Make it the same horizontal & vertical size as your video.  The upper 2/3 needs to be transparent.

  • Still can't get good, crisp, video upload and export

I have read the HD express manual, read the articles by Ken Stone and my video uploads are still not that crisp. When I export the MOV to my desktop it looks perfect, every detail. My original video is crytsal clear, beautiful, but when I upload it to "My Space" it looks a bit fuzzy or flat. Now I know what you're going to say, "it's MY SPACE, but you know what, it's not. There are plenty of very clear and crisp videos from musicians and music videos on MY SPACE that are clear as day and crisp - so I don't agree it's MY SPACE. My Space allows for .MOV/Quicktime uploads - 100MB. I tried H.264, still looks flat and washed out. I tried Sorenson, still looks flat. What's confusing me is the frame rate and key frame rate I should set it at for a simple 320 x 240 upload and all the other detailed settings that are optional. What are my best option, step by step. I have exhuasted myself with this - up until 2 a.m. for 4 days. Please help. I have tried so many options. Thank you for your time. Sheila

    Sheila,
What is the source of the original video (original capture from DV camera, Quicktime video, rip from DVD ...)? What settings are you using when you export to your Desktop as a MOV? When you say it's crystal clear, what are you watching it on? Is the MOV file what you are uploading to MySpace, or are you doing a different export for uploading; if so, what settings are you using for that export?
What versions of FCE and QT do you have installed on your Mac? And what are the model & specs of your Mac?

  • How can i get a full url of video uploaded in asset library on sharepoint 2013

    Hi All,
I have videos in SharePoint 2013 Asset Library, now i want display that videos in my SharePoint webpage as a webpart.
Now, how can i get a full url of video uploaded in asset library?
    Thanks in Advance!

The Asset library does a pretty good job of hiding the full URL. An "asset" item is actually a folder. The folder contains the video and support files like preview thumbnails.
So, if you upload a video named butterfly.wmv to http://yourSite/sites/demo/Assets the path to the video would be http://yourSite/sites/demo/Assets/butterfly/butterfly.wmv. If the user changed the name while uploading the file to "Pretty bugs"
the URL would then be http://yourSite/sites/demo/Assets/Pretty%20Bugs/butterfly.wmv.
Probably the best way to explore these hidden folders and discover the "real" URL is to use SharePoint Designer 2013.
Launch SharePoint Designer and open your site.
In the Navigation area click "All Files". (If you don't see All Files then your administrators may have partially locked down SPD.)
In the list of files and folders click the Assets library.
Find and click your video (you will see the "Name" as entered in the file's properties, not the file name.)
Find the video file, right-click it and click Properties.
    Copy the Location.
If you just want to display the video in the page:
    Edit the page
    Click INSERT
    Click Web Part
From the Media and Content category select Media Web Part and click Add.
Edit the web part (click the web part's dropdown)
From the MEDIA ribbon click Change Media
Click From SharePoint and navigate to your assets library and pick a video

  • Video file size in Zen Moz

I recently bought a Zen Mozaic and I've stored some avi movies in it. As avi videos can take many disc space ( up to 700 MB) I tried to shrink the video size (by lowering the resolution). Although in my computer, these files have shrunken in size, when I converted them to my Zen, they still take as many disc space as the original files.
Is there any way I can shrink avi video file size in my Zen Mozaic?

  • Can I reduce video file size on iPad?

Is there an iOS app - iMovie for instance - that will allow me to reduce video file size on my iPad, without having to use a computer?

There are various Apps in the App Store that will compress a video file, try search on Video Slimmer or Video Compression.  Another option is to use a different App for recording the video in the first place; I use MoviePro quite extensively, it allows 5 different presets for resolution, bit rate etc. for recording video.

  • Video Podcast Size/Length Limit for iPhone?

    Hi;
I have subscribed to the "Programming Paradigms" video podcast from Stanford University available through iTunes freely [1].
The lesson's download to the Mac fine and play on it, but when i sync them to my 1st generation iPhone (v2.1) only the first episode works as expected and other lessons plays without a video (only audio).
I realize first lesson's length is smaller (17 min. versus 40+ min.) than others, is there a video podcast  size or time limit for iPhone exists and if so how can i bypass these limits?
    [1] http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/itunes.stanford.edu.16173481 11.01617348114
    Thanks,

The standard itself doesn't have these limitations, but each "device" may have it's own limitations that you need to be wary of. For example, I can encode an .mp4 video file that will play back fine on a Playstation 3, but, due to it's bitrate, will not play back on an iPod.
However, any app on a computer that is listed as being able to playback MPEG-4 content will recognize it as such and play it back.

  • How do I create a title whose size matches my video frame size?

    How do I create a 1920x1080 title?
I'm using Premiere Pro CS4 on Windows 7.  I created a default title.  If I right-click on the title in the Project Explorer and select properties, it says:
      Title Size: 720 x 480
      Pixel Depth: 32
      Pixel Aspect Ratio: 0.9091
If I drag this title onto a sequence onto a sequence created from the "AVHCD 1080i30 (60i)" preset then the title is automagically scaled to try to get it to fit into the 1920x1080 frame, resulting in a tiny title centered in the frame.  I can make things better by right-clicking the title in the timeline and selecting "Scale to frame size", but that's not a particularly elegant solution (and the title, as displayed in the title editor, still doesn't exactly match the title displayed in the previous monitor).
How do I create and edit a title whose size matches my video frame size?

Thanks guys!  I created the first title in a 640x480 sequence and didn't notice that I had the option to fiddle with the frame size when I created it.  Subsequently, I created new titles by duplicating a previously created title (which I had set up with desired font, effects, etc.) and just changing the title text in the title designer.  This worked great as long as I was making titles for a 640x480 sequence.  But when I tried to use a copy of this title in a different sized sequence then things got weird on me.  I spent way too long trying to find the option to resize the title before I finally gave up and decided to spend the time to figure out how to post a question in this forum.
Just to verify how things work, I verified that the size of a new title does, indeed, default to the size of the currently selected sequence.  No idea what would happen if I had multiple sequences displayed simultaneously.
Any idea how to change the size of an existing title?

  • Determining Video Pixel Size from Still Pixel Sizes

    Hello
I posted a few questions here in regard to establshing good Pixel Sizes in stills for use in FCE.
Tom, and Studio X were very helpful, and I picked up a few pointers.
One thing I still didn't grasp completley was how to determine (perhaps from a simple formula), what the Video Pixel Size would be from a photo's pixel size.
    As Tom pointed out:
"A 2400x3000 pixel image may be perfectly adequate and not produce as many imaging problems when scaled in a video application"
And as I discovered in regard to print size:
    "An 8" x 10" document that is scanned at 300 dpi has the pixel dimensions of 2,400 pixels (8" x 300 dpi) by 3,000 pixels (10" x 300 dpi).
So then all this being said, is there a way to easily determine what the Video Pixel Size will be from the given Pixel dimensions of a still image?
(Like from a re-sized Tiff in Photoshop)
My version of Photoshop doesn't seem to have that conversion option for determining NTSC Video image quality.
    Thanx
    Mike

And if I need to zoom in really tight to a small area in a particular still, I should allow myself an image size a bit larger than 1280x720. Correct?< </div>
If only it was that easy. The video screen is roughly 800 by 500 pixels. That's all there are. If you bring in a 1600x1000 JPEG (might want to try TIFF instead) and you wish to see the whole image, it will be scaled down to 25% to fit onto the small screen and all of your pixels will be thrown away or mashed together. It's terribly inefficient and the image gets mushily softened.
If you need to zoom in to a particular spot on the image, imagine that spot as filling the 800x500 pixel screen. You can use a simple ruler and measure the area you wish to be full screen (without any scaling being applied by FCP because that will destroy your image). Now measure the largest part of the image that you want to be on screen at any one time when zoomed all the way out. The ratio of those two numbers is what you will need to scan. Example (highly simplified don't try to argue about the precision) if your big image is 10x8 inches and your desired tight shot is 4x3 inches, you must provide a TIFF that is 2.5 or 2.75 times the size of the tightest area. That tight area is going to be 800x500 pixels. You will scan the 10x8 image to obtain a TIFF that is almost 2.5 times 800 pixels wide or 2000 pixels, by 2.5 times 500 pixels high or 1250 pixels. Do not bother to convert that into DPI. You are targeting an image size measured in pixels. It's got nothing to do with the size of the original image or the DPI. Repeating: Absolutely nothing.
This will give you an image into which you can zoom and suffer no image degradation. It will also give you a tremendous processing hit. FCP just doesn't like to do that kind of scaling.
Umm, doesn't look like I helped much. This issue is highly misunderstood and it's quite confusing if you come from a Photoshop background. giving up concepts like DPI is almost impossible. The only way to get it is to work through the many options Photoshop and video people offer up and try to figure out why some of them don't work for you.
