Video Watermarks Ruining Transitions

I watched a few videos on YouTube showing how to make and add a watermark to your videos. So . . . I made a watermark and added it to a video. I dragged the watermark image across the entire video but when I play it back the transitions are gone. Can you tell me how to fix this - other than deleting the watermark?

I don't know about iMovie '08. But in iMovie '11 unfortunately you cannot mix the Cutaway and Transitions. Cutaway will block the transition. So what you have to do is 'break' the Cutaway where the watermark is now at the transition point then put another one on the other side of the transition, like this:
Make sure to pull the cutaway a bit away from the edge of the clip beneath it, keep dragging until the transition turns bright white and isn't grayed out anymore.

Video hangs while transiting

The video hangs while transition though the music and the progress bar continue.

It occurs in the browser and in the project. The computer has a NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB graphics card. I use an external firewire hard drive of 1 TB (400 GB left) or my projects. The internal drive is a 446 GB drive, 256 GB left. It doesn't solve the problem to move the project to the internal drive. I checked this already.
The problem occur on two other computers, too: an older Macbook Pro with 3 GB RAM and a white Macbook with 4 GB. Furthermore, it doesn't matter whether I run FCPX from another partition or with MacOS Snow Leopard. I reinstalled the program and removed all 3rd party codecs but it didn't help. Could be another bug on the long bug list. I sent a report to Apple.

I am very upset b/c videos got ruined!

Help, somebody. I had very important videos in my computer. They were in Quicktime format and they were very fine the way they were. I was on the internet one day and downloaded windows media player just so I could have it to be able to see videos on the internet that sometimes won't play with quicktime. I wanted Windows Media Player, just in case. Well, when I realized it Windows Media Player changed all the formats on my QuickTime videos. I said "what!!!!" I changed them back to QuickTime and all the videos were ruined. They are so dark I can hardly see them! What happened? Does anybody know. I'm so sorry I downloaded Windows Media Player. Is there any way to fix these videos?

JMF; Video watermarking in java?

Can any one suggest me how to proceed for this problem?
Input is quicktime file. A watermark should be added to the video track (this can be a small black square in the upper left hand corner of the screen, or something more elaborate). The watermarked movie is output to a new Quicktime file.

Is n't that qtjava out of JMF? i mean it looks like it has got its own packages of Apple

I am making a video in imovie 11. as I added clips and transitions it was changing my clips and some were not changing to the next clip. How do I fix this?

There is also a setting in restrictions - Settings>General>Restrictions>Privacy>Photos and one for Facebook, did you restrict anything in there?

Missing audio in Video when adding Transition

Hi!
I'm new to flash 8, and trying to learn video playback in
Flash, and I have one question: I've added a transition effect
between 3 videos, and when I play the swf file, the audio is
missing in the 3 video's.
Is it so that audio automaticly dissapear when I add
transitions?

I'm guessing you'll have to go through the video (grabbing each frame) and draw your watermark on every single image.

2nd video or "out" transition on clip freezing at 00:00:00:01

any idea why the 2nd or "out" video transition on a clip is freezing on 00:00:00:01? the default is set to 00:00:01:00. the first transition "in" on the clip is permitting me to change the transition length but when i reset the 2nd "out" transition length it just jumps back to 00:00:00:01.
i'm using fcp 7.0.3
i tossed the sequence and started new and no longer have the problem, so no big deal but just wondered if anyone knew why?

Video darkens before transitions.

Video darkens for about a second right before transitions. It looks great in the Canvas and Timeline, but after I export it (Export>QuickTime Movie...), it gets dark.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Actually, it was the FCE project. Transitions and everything. When I exported it from FCP, it showed the same problem.
I captured the same video directly from the camera with FCE and it also had the same issue.
Now, here's the good news. I went ahead and exported the project with the "Using QuickTime Conversion" option (File->Export->Using QuickTime Conversion...). In the QT options, I selected AIC compression and the darkening went away! Then, I re-compressed that file for my final delivery and that was it. It worked great! The video quality and the file size are the same as with the "Using QT" option. Problem solved.

Video Pauses During Transitions

Can Keynote seamlessly transition in and out of video clips without pausing the clip during the transition? I'm trying to seamlessly disssolve between slides with video clips, but the video pauses during the transition. Is this a limitation in Keynote? Is there a workaround?

I have a similar question. Can I move content on and off the slide with video looping in the background? The content that would be moving on and off the video background would be titles, photos, and other video clips about a minute in length. And if I'm not asking too much of Keynote, do all this with no hang ups in the background video. The background video was created in Motion and is just moving text growing and shrinking with motion across the screen.

Welcome to the forums.
Please import the clip in the project panel, right click on the clip and select new sequence from clip option, you can also drag the clip to new item icon at the bottom of the project panel to create a sequence.

How can I make a homemade video on iDVD transition from one chapter to the next?

For example, I usually have 4 chapters for my projects. I coach basketball so each chapter represents a quarter. When quarter 1 ends, it goes back to the menu...rather then going right into quarter?

Not 100% on Your question - but may be this helps.
Play all resp. one chapter at a time
Play All Button
1. There are NO - Play All - button in any version of iDVD
2. It can be faked in several ways
Easiest and most fault proof way is to make a doublet movie containing All and with
Chapters set to match. It will take up x2 space but is easy to understand and produce.
Cons: Tried this in iMovie’11 by Exporting out each part as a full Quality QT.mov then Importing back into new events and putting these into a new project (Play All project). Resulting DVD had Audio that was OK (as parts) - BUT the picture was very bad and standing photo were cut of in height. So the Play All movie has to be created from same material and exactly in the same way as the individual parts + then Chapters has to be set to match.
• It's said that one can put all movies into a Photo/SlideShow and this will also
give the function of a Play All button - Tested - and ONE HAS TO un-cheque - Scale pictures to TV-Safe area else it will be a black frame all around and a small picture !

You might be able to get close to what you want by using a slideshow in iDVD. (It's not widely known, but you can put videos in a slideshow.) If you set the slide duration to manual, playback will pause after each movie/slide, and you can continue with the 'next' button.
3. Using another program to do this e.g.. Roxio Toast™ where there is a Play All button option.
Summary
a. Making a Play All movie with same care as the individual Part movies - gives a very Good Result
b. Using Roxio Toast™ - also an usable way to go

Missing Video & Audio transitions in FPC 4.5

Hello I recently replaced my HD and reinstalled all my Apps. After downlaoding 2 hrs of video on my scratch drive and getting ready to edit I noticed my effects tab is missing and when I look in the menu under effects (specifically video and audio transitions ) they are all greyed out as if unavailable ( which they are ). I reinstalled FPC and ran the SW updates and reopened the project but there are still no video and audio transition effects available.
Can any one help pleaase.

There's a way to get it back. Just can't remember off the top of my head. I'll be back in the office tomorrow and see if I can figure it out. but in the meantime.... Is there an item in the windows menu (if there is a windows menu) for effects. If so, call it up and then drag it back into the browser. Worst case scenario, get fcprescue (do a search here and make sure you get the correct version for fpc 4.5) and delete the preferences. The effects tab in the browser will return as it's part of the default preferences.

Transition video quality

I've got some transitions between my menus, but when I view the DVD after it's been built, the transitions look horrible since they have so many compression artifacts. Is there any way to improve the quality?

This may or not be related, but I was having a similar problem with the look of transitions in my slideshows when played on my DVD player and 42" plasma. Kind of blocky and artifacted . . . I took a DVD over to a firends house and it looked great when played on their DVD player! Turns out their DVD player was connected through the old RCA video cables, not the component cables (which is supposed to be much better quality)! When I went home and disconnected my DVD component cables and rehooked the DVD player via the old style RCA video cables the transitions got much smoother and the whole slideshow looked better . . . makes no sense to me, but that's how it worked!

Adding video transitions using Multicam in Premiere CC not working

Just tried to a video transition to a Multicam timeline between a camera switch and it does add the transition in the timeline but only plays back as a cut as if no transition was applied. Also, using the shortcut CTRL D doesn't add the transition but does it show up in the history that it applied a transition.
I used a Dissolve transition and it shows the video dissolving between the 2 video source in the transition Effects Control window, just doesn't work in the timeline when playing it back. Rendering the timeline doesn't work either, still a cut transition.
Actually, just tried the CTRL D shortcut and it is now working.
Now the transition shows up when going to the Export menu and looking at the video in the Preview window and when exported the dissolve is there so the only problem is that the video transitions can't be seen when playing from the timeline.
Decided to close down Premiere, restart it and reload the project and now the transition works in the timeline.
Actually, here what happens. You can't see transitions when the Program monitor is in Multicam mode, you need to switch is back to Composite mode then the transition will preview when playing from the timeline. Now I just checked and you can scrub through the transition and see it when the Program monitor is in the Multicam mode.
