Video Wobble on N95

Hey there folks.
I have a bit of a problem. When I record video on my N95 it's fine if the camera is completely still but on panning shots the picture visibly 'wobbles' no matter how smoothly or steadily I move the camera. It does this both with and without image stabilisation turned on.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so does anyone know what causes it and how to eliminate it?

Have you tried recording at lower quality, does it still do it?,
I see your point, I'm not sure how you can fix it.

  • Why does the video wobble whenever the camera moves ?

We have a LED TV with 120 Hz refresh rate and the ATV is 60 Hz max. Is that why the video wobbles whenever a fast moving object appears on the scene ?

  • Nokia Video Cable for n95 vs Cheap Video cable, wh...

Hey, so im interested into understanding why the nokia video cable for n95 costs around 40€ in my country while you can get a very very cheap one for no more than 6€.
What are the advantages of nokia 1 vs a normal 1? does it scale the image to a higher resolution than the phone 240*320? does it offer anything else at all than basic video/stereo audio output?
Im rly curious since i find the price just ridiculous if its the same!
IF anyone has any information ill be gratefull, thank you all in advance!

Nokia video cable comes with, if i am not wrong, 6 months warranty and you can expect quality though not that well in the video but in the cable. A friend of mine bought a video cable for his 5800 from other shop it worked well, make sure you dont buy a very cheap product which maynot be compatible with the phone, better test infront of the shop person if possible.

  • Quicktime : how to encode a video for the N95

    Hi !
    I have a N95 8Go and a Mac...
I use Quicktime Pro to encode videos and I want to make H.264 videos for my N95. Sadly, all videos I've created can't be read by N95's Real Player (audio/video error).
    How can I do ?
    Thank you

I've never used Quicktime PRO but I saw a tutorial once.
    Maybe this can help:

  • Video centre on N95 rocks!

Some of the new features on N95 are really cool.the video centre in applications has links to you tube, reuters etc with crystal clear videos, hope the future DVB-H based TV services have the same clarity

    I converted 2 videos :-
    1 at 330MB
    1 at 541MB
300MB file worked ok and didnt crash Vid Centre.
    541MB didn't work.
I tried start Vid Centre and play the movie over and over, and eventually one of the movies that didn't work, did work and Vid Centre did not crash. Moved another movie in there and Vid Centre crashed again, however, I couldn't get it to play no matter how many times I tried to play the movie.
I give up on this, with no reply from Nokia either.
I'm using Smart Movie to play straight from AVI, that has a resume functionality but only on the current video, not a big deal I guess.
Hope this gets fixed in the next firmware, but it seems not many people have this issue which means Nokia may not put too much time and effort into investigating and fixing this bug.Message Edited by hongsit on 11-Dec-200701:37 PM

  • Video Playback On N95

    Hi,
I convert video files to MP4 to play on my N95 but when i play them on the phone with sound is a few seconds behind the video. Is it something to do with the speed of my memory card. I just have a standard 2 GB micro sd in a the moment.
    Thanks.

No, it's all about the way it's encoded.
Search for posts by a user called "el_loco" he has posted many useful tips about this issue and video converting.

  • VIDEO PLAYBACK ANOMALY N95

I'm using the N95 with the TV-OUT cables connected to an external monitor. While watching a Video, if an incoming call is answered, the video playback is paused for the duration of the call. When resuming playback of the video after hanging-up the call, the video image appears to be veiled with poor picture contrast and the picture partially renders with the original colours. The sound track remains ok.
Could this be a codec/Video-RAM problem, after a context switch, and how can this be rectified !
Any help would be much appreciated.

    I think the fundamental problem I'm having with the video playback with incoming-call interruption is due to the video format being used;
    MPEG-4 Files
    24 bits, 176 x 144, 15 fps
    Frame-based
    MPEG-4 SP Video: 200 Kbps
    44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
    MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
It seems that when using the "Transfer Videos" utility within Nokia PC suite, some form of further Optimisation (.MP4) or Conversion is taking place on the Video file resulting in a file size which is smaller than the original .MP4 file.
This, I believe is exasperating the problem !
Therefore, using the File Manger utility to copy the Video file directly from the PC to the relevant folder on the Memory Card gets around this problem.
The Video now continues to play after the context switch from the In-Coming Call with some initial degradation in picture quality as before but recovers fully within a couple of seconds.
This needs to be investigated further, and many thanks to all who have helped!

  • Issues with Video Conversion in N95 8GB

I purchased a N95 8 GB yesterday. I have been trying to get the video conversion to work with video manager
The conversion status tab do not go beyond 40% and it hungs there without any error message.
Has anyone faced similiar issues with video.
I used another convertor to convert the AVI file to mp4. But this file could not be played by N95 real player.
Are there any specification for conversion, for the video to play in N95.
Can anyone suggest on the best tool to convert video to MP4 and play in N95 ?
    Thanks,

Why do you have to say that you did not mark my post down Well your last post did not say which browzer you are using. So I took the default . Anyway if loco will see it suits me fine

  • Red light during video capture on N95

CAn I change the orange light lifght to white light at least?during shootng video with N95??

    Very cool there Bhagiratha!
The green stuff looks like a copper oxide to me, perhaps the leftover from thermal paste?
The thermal paste is supposed to make up for the slight unevenness and/or give a better heat transfer if I remember correctly.
Since it's all around the outside edges "squeezed out" that's my assumption.
(don't try this at home folks it will void your warranty and can make you very unhappy if things go bad)

  • My exported video wobbles

I tried a few different exportation settings, but no matter what, my final exported video ends up wobbling up and down. It's not a lot, but it is kinda noticeable and unprofessional.
My video consists of an audio and a still image throught the whole video. When I export it, I end up having a video in which the image wobbles up and down. I tried different formats, changing a few settings, but it's all the same thing.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for replying.
The still image I used is 640 x 480, but I turned on the "Scale to Frame Size" so that it covered the whole video screen.
The sequence preset I used was the HDV 1080i25 (50i), so that I can have a high definition video (at least that is how I think this works).
For the export settings, I am aiming for, like I said, a high definition video, 1280 x 720 in dimension. I am a complete newbie in this regard, so if you have to use complicated concepts, I would appreciate it if you explained them beforehand.
    Thanks again.

can someone please tell me how this is done?
bcz whenever i try to video call someone i get a "connection error".
i have made sure i am using the 3g mode.

I use video calling fairly regularly...
It's easily solved - switch it back to GSM only and say you've not got a 3G signal

  • Sticky Video recording with N95 8GB

Since upgrading to v15 of software, when i try to record a video clip the camera sticks every few seconds? I have done a soft and hard resets and re-installed the new software several times with no avail... Any advise?

This issue of the video stuttering was previously discussed and the solution found was to reformat the mass memory.
However, you could try defragmenting your mass memory first and see if it helps. It will be less drastic then reformating.
To defrag, connect phone to pc using sata transfer mode and then use the standard Windows XP defrag.
Let us know if it works.

  • N95 8GB Video Manager "NOT CONVERTING"

My NSeries Video Manager for N95 8GB does not seem to be able to convert any video file. What's exactly happening is that after I've searched a folder and found the video files, whatever video type I choose (whether it's an .avi, or.mpg or.mov file) and select "convert and trasfer to phone" I get a message saying some of the video or audio codecs needed for converting are missing and that I should check the log file for more info. The funny thing is I can watch all those videos I've found with VideoManager, I just cannot convert them with it. What's my problem? Am I missing any codecs, and if yes where can I find them for downloading?

You can be missing codecs, but what I experienced with Video Manager is that it is very buggy. If you know how to use ffmpeg, you simply do not need Video Manager and can convert videos to H.264 formats fast.
I use the following parameters with ffmpeg:
    ffmpeg -y -i "$input" -s 320x240 -async 1 -vcodec libx264 -b 200k -maxrate 384k -bufsize 384 -coder 0 -level 13 -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -threads 2 "$output"
Replace $input and $output with the input and output file paths respectively. Please be reminded that the ffmpeg version should support x264, otherwise it will not convert. After successful conversion, the file can be played by built-in RealPlayer.
