Video won't play in Interactive PDF

Hi,
I am attempting to export an interactive pdf with video and I have followed all the steps in the user guide.
However, While all other elements seem to function fine, when I attempt to click on the video file I am presented with a blank screen.
Initially I was using an mp4 file but I have converted this to f4v with no success. I have made sure to keep the original frame size.
The file plays fine in SWF preview.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

In Acrobat Reader, check the Multimedia Trust (legacy) setting. You can set the permissions of how the media players handle multimedia files. The settings are: Prompt, Always and Never. If "Never" is applied, then you would need to change to one of the other settings. Also, you have individual settings for Quicktime and Flash. And individual settings for trusted documents and other documents.
Keep in mind, these are application settings, and will only affect your app, not the document and how others will experience the multimedia files.

• Strange problem - video won't play in a pdf

Hi all!
I regularly create interactive pdfs with videos using LaTeX. This has worked nice before. However, lately I cannot play videos. Clicking a video window yields no reaction (except from crushing AR sometimes). This happens on win7 platform with AR X and XI. However, the same file works on a mac, ever since I've instaled the latest AR and flash player.
Now, here's a funny thing - if a video file is moved from it's relative path, the thing actually works! Clicking the window results with a warning and an option to browse for a replacement file. Choosing whatever video file (including the intended one) results with a video being played as it was supposed to!
Anyone?

Regarding Acrobat Reader XI, http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/flash-player-needed-acrobat-reader.html
"Adobe Reader and Acrobat no longer include Flash Player and features that require Flash now leverage the machine’s local copy of Flash."
"Note that the Flash Active X component is not enough to display this content. A full Flash player must be installed."
I find that really weird because on that same page they give a link to Flash Player installs for IT, which required me to apply for a distribution license, after which I received a download link for .exe and .msi downloads. Adobe says not to provide that link, so if you want to go to that page you also need to apply for a distribution license (free, took maybe 30 min). However both of the download options of .exe and .msi were active x installers... install_flash_player_12_active_x.exe and install_flash_player_12_active_x.msi.
So basically, Adobe explains the problem of requiring an additional Flash Player install to get Flash to play back in Reader but they specify that it cannot be done with an active x installer. But the link they provide for IT only gives the option to download active x installers. I already submitted feedback for that webpage but that doesn't help me for now. I don't want to try to distribute the normal flash installer because I don't want to end up with a bunch of computers with the Google Toolbar installed and an annoying automatic updater which prompts users to update but then denies them the ability to update with admin privileges.

• Whenever I export my interactive indesign file to swf the videos won't play in the resulting html file, it's just a black screen. I'm using .mp4 videos as well.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?
Thank you

Unless you held down the Command key when dragging the iPhoto Library package to the flash drive you only copied the library.  How is the flash drive formatted?  If it was not OS X Extended (journaled) the integrity of the library's internal structure was probably compromised.
If you don't have a current backup of your library do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

• Videos won't play in powerpoint when connected to projector

I've tried to find a solution for my problem online but haven't come across anyone with the same issue. I often work with powerpoint presentations with many videos in it. The videos play just fine on my laptop and also when hooked up to an external monitor, which I use when at work, both in slideshow mode and when previewing my animations. However, when I hook up my mac onto a projector the videos won't play - not on my laptop screen nor on the projected screen. I've tried rearranging the displays by draggin the menu bar to either display and also switched from mirror screens to presenter's view within powerpoint but nothing helped solve the issue. The only solution I found is to play the presentation on my windows partition - which is not really what I'm planning to do for long term...
I'm using Powerpoint 2011 for mac and this problem has occurred using multiple projectors.
Any help on how to solve this issue is highly appreciated!

I had the same problem today in front of an audience with 300 people (MacbookPro OSX 10.10, Thunderbolt-VGA adapter, PPT 14.4.6).
Here what I figured out so far:
1. It happens when you have PPT open and connect to beamer afterwards
2. You can resolve it (in my case) by quitting PPT and launching it WHEN connected to beamer
3. Yet, make sure Mac does not go into sleep mode or you get a lock-screen in the waiting time. if you do so, you get back to square 1. quit PPT again 2. restart it.
4. Also.... in one case I had to hit the volume control once to get the sound back even though movie was playing
So in short: Connect to beamer first, then launch PPT
I know it is only a symptom fix but it worked for me

• Videos won't play in any browser

Just recently, videos won't play in any browser...Safari, Firefox. etc. It seems to happen with .wmv files. I reinstalled media player, but still have the problem.
I get this message.
"Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and filename are correct and try again"

First, check that Windows Media Player is set as the correct plug in - in Safari, go to help/installed plug ins. There should be a section marked 'Windows Media Player' showing 'application/x-mplayer2' and listing wmv files (amongst others).
Sometimes these arrors are caused by DNS failures. Ensure your system is fully up to date, and enter your ISP's DNS server IP addresses (usually two of them, sometimes three) in the 'DNS servers' box on the TCP page of the Network preference pane.
The DNS server IPs are usually supplied with the ISP's initial set up documentation, or located on the ISP's help page.
The reason it could be a problem is that in many iterations of MacOS X, the system is extremely sensitive to how quickly a DNS search responds. DNS is the process whereby a user-provided URL is converted into the correct IP address for internet lookup, so if the video source is held on a different server and the DNS process doesn't return a valid IP address in time, you would then get an error of the sort you describe.

• Videos won't play in Safari. Notice says, "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video." I have downloaded it, but no change. All videos play OK in firefox, but I like the controls in Safari better and want to stay with it.

• MailOnline videos won't play in Firefox unless in safe mode although they're fine in Explorer.

It's for my mum, honest. Firefox 25, java and flash uptodate but the Mail Online videos won't play unless I start Firefox in safemode. A large white rectangle appears but nothing else.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

• My videos won't play in my itunes

• Have reset Firefox & completed all of steps in "Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites", but video still won't work. Help!

I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Are you using the YouTube app or Safari?
Could be the videos are Flash based, which Safari can't display.

Whenever i start up sound blaster cinema it just crashes, it will be fine for about 10 seconds, then it just crashes, it will usually freeze up everything when it crashes only thing i can do is move my cursor around, it will unfreeze after 10 seconds or so as well.
I have tried to update sound blaster cinema but there are not updates available.
It would usually go back to normal after a shutdown or a restart but this time it wasn't having any of it.
Can anyone suggest anything that i couldn't think of?
The crashing first started a month+ ago, but today when I was playing L4D2 a boomer explosion crashed L4D2 and sound blaster cinema simultaneously and now sound blaster cinema won't stop crashing after launch.
(Edit)
I can't launch any games, i try to play the game osu! and it launches normally except the screen turns black and then it crashes. i try to launch steam and login but the login menu wont pop
I can't even play a youtube video, the background of the video will show but the video won't play, it's not buffering but the video is loading.
windows media player won't launch as well, videos on my computer will not play at all.

(FIXED)
I went and downloaded thee intel(R) driver update utility 2.0 went to find drivers and then to auto detect and updated my drivers.
This is the driver that helped me. vvvv
( Iris, irispro, and hd graphics driver for windows*7/8/8.1 version 15.36.19.64.41.70 )
Sound blaster cinema doesn't crash on launch anymore, neither does my game osu! and youtube videos now play.

• Certain youtube videos won't play in Firefox

Firefox 20.0.1, windows 7, flashplayer up to date.
Certain youtube videos won't play. The advert beforehand plays, and then the video just displays a black screen, no loading, trying to skip to a later time in the video doesn't work. It seems to be certain youtube users whose videos won't play, users whose videos I was able to watch only yesterday. The featured video on the user's channel is watchable, but not when opened separately.
IE won't show the affected videos either.

In addition to these symptoms, I've noticed that I can view these troubled videos on my cellphone just fine, but neither my XP or Win7 machine, which have all software updated can view. So if it was on youtubes side, it wouldn't work on my phone either.
