Video wont render in FireFox on Mac?

Hi guys,
http://www.griffith.edu.au/science-aviation/content-new/careers-outlook-animation/_nocache
This works in all other browsers for me - except FireFox on Mac. The video elements dont even render.
Any suggestions?
THanks!

Any tips on specifying fallback video media in Edge Animate?
I'd recommend the free Firefox extension Firefogg:
Firefogg - video and audio encoding for Firefox
I've used it many times, and it's speedy and easy to use.
You can encode your mp4 file to ogv or webm, and as long as it has the same file name as your mp4 file (sans extension) when you import it into your composition, Animate will be automatically group it with your mp4 file so the video element has two sources - which should play in all HTML5 web browsers (browsers download only the first file they support, and not the others).
If you don't happen to name it the same, you can always drag and drop it in the Library so it's in the same video group.

  • Speed Up video wont render correctly

Im am using CS4 Premire Pro,
I am using uncompressed TGA frames at 23.98 FPS as the video,
i speed it up to 106.8% but when i render it for previewing, it dosent speed up and it goes out of scale.
when i export it, it is fine.
    can anyone help?

when i did speed up the video instead of changing the framerate non-rendered (although at around 6 FPS) showed fine while previewing,
but when paused it shows it at normal framerate (hope that makes sense)
that made no sense to me...
boy, we're making no headway here...the sailing ship is " in irons "....

mabye it is the whole square pixels thing, the original AVI was compressed into Xvid from a NTSC DVD,
which i think is 4:3 not 1:1 (correct me if im wrong)
when you exported from VirtDub it does what it does to make the TGA...so thats what you need to match with your project settings...which I think you did...soooo it doesnt matter where the TGA came from really...unless there's some weird info in those files...you can open a single frame in notepad and scroll thru all the code and see if there's anything strange in there if you want...might be interesting to look at it anyway..
But really, I think what might be best is to convert the AVI ( with XVid ) to something else and then export your stills from that...
I just don't know what can convert the original AVI ....will google it some more...look for something...

  • How do I capture streaming video on firefox for mac?

Is there a way to save or capture streaming video being watched on Firefox for Mac?

it's possible. i did it myself, after a few tryouts.
i still can't get the best result, but i got something.
first of all you have to save the streaming file(thru the save as qt movie, from CTRL-click). when you get a stream it gets cached on your computer. you might playback it even when offline. so if all that you need is a simple playback, that's ok. but it's a cache, sometime the system will erase it from your HD.
if you want to keep it as a qt file(or any other format) thats this is the deal. when you save the stream file, it saves a reference file(4kb) that reads the cache. you cannot recover them from the cache, not even by changing the termination, because the qt player won't recognize the .qtch files transformed into .mov.
open the file(reference you saved before), choose export from the file menu, and choose the setting that you want. i still don't get a good quality(i know it's incredible that a stream file has a better quality...) and i still have to export the video separated from the audio. but if you need only the moving image to edit a homevideo, and your only source is a stream, it's a start.
so if anyone feel like growing the knowledge tree, let's go ahead.

  • Firefox in Mac fails to render Reporting Services

    Hello All,
I've a user who uses Firefox to view reporting services on Mac. Firefox came up with update recently and ever since the user is not able to open the reports in Firefox on Mac. Is anyone having the similar issue? Please share. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
In Reporting Services, Mozilla Firefox is not supported to view reports in Mac OS X 10.6 – 10.9. If you are accessing a report server from a Macintosh computer, we recommend that you use Apple Safari browser. And please make sure the Mac OS X version meets
the requirement, and the Apple Safari is the latest publically released version.

  • Certain embedded videos wont play

certain embedded videos wont play. Flash type. There's a code UT-8 type?
example for the Vindictus game, all the little flash videos of game play wont launch. Its a shock wave file I guess, and the problem is, I cant launch the game if the buttons dont appear!

That is a FLV file played by a Flash player.<br />

Do you have problem on other sites with Flash?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

    Hi Ryan,
I managed to find this reference specifically for restoring on Snow Leopard:
If you are using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, start your computer from the installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility.
Now that was copied from this more comprehensive reference:
Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac
You may also find this article helpful:
    http://pondini.org/TM/14.html
Finally, I cannot see why Time Machine would leave out your playlists and ratings? Think about it. Why would Time Machine specifically copy everything BUT your playlists and ratings? Ryan, what are your options? I would have to ask you this: Are you certain that you properly did the sync? That is another/different forum altogether: Using iPhone /see subsection on Syncing.
    Either way...
    Best Regards,
    mm
EDIT: For whatever reason I tried three times to edit out one of the redundent adjectives... either different or another which preceeds the word forum, but the advanced editor would (apparently NOT allow me to do so). I hope that it doesn't render without any adjective before the word forum.

  • Youtube videos wont show I hear audio but no video

I enherated this iMac I recently updated the software now videos wont show on youtube or on hulu I hear the audio but no video.

You probably need to update Flash Player.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Audio-only seq's edited into into timeline show as unrendered, wont render

I'm using FCP to do simple audio edit assembly projects.
One main question and two followups.
I have some audio only sequences in the bin. When I drag one to the timeline directly, or edit it into the timeline by dragging to viewer, or any of the other ways to get it into the timeline, it comes in as unrendered, with the red bar at top, although it was rendered when I edited it into the tl.
When I try to render, it wont render, and just plays with the beep beep beep sound. However, scrolling the clip in the timeline, I can hear quietly, the audio scrubbing.
Only way I could work around was to pull a sequence to the timeline, double click it, which then opened the original sequence again in the tl. I then was able to highlight and copy the material, switch back to the sequence I was assembling, and paste the audio in.
Any suggestions as to why the sequences edit into the timeline unrendered, and how to bring them in so they are rendered, or how to render them?
    Followup question 1:
What's the significance of some clips in the timeline display their color as light green, while others have the color light blue? And why do some clips show audio waveforms while others do not?
    Followup 2:
I recently lost the media files to some audio-only sequences. However, when I went to play the sequences, they played, even though the media files were gone. Was the sequence playing using the Audio Render files? I am guessing that when I altered the level of the audio, new files were created in the Audio Render bin, and the sequence was playing off those render files. Question 1 above doesn't involve lost media files, for that situation all media files were in tact.

Power Mac G5, Dual, 2 GHz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)
Power Mac G5, Dual, 2 GHz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    1. Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, you might be best off opening the sequence you want clips from and copy/paste those clips into your newer sequence...this will require rendering.
AFAIK, the only way to avoid re-rendering is to duplicate the sequence in the browser (retains renders)...but from what you describe, you're trying to integrate previous sequences into newer ones, so may not benefit you.
You could duplicate the sequence 'A', then build upon that in sequence 'B'...again, really depends on your end goal.
    2. The reason you're getting different colors in the top render bar, is the different levels of rendering FCP is seeing as needing to be done. Go to your Sequence Menu and check off all available types of renders. Now when you render, it should render everything.
    3. Yes, you're probably getting playback from already rendered files. If you delete all renders with Render Manager in the Tools menu, you'll likely lose them.

  • Video needs render

using fcp 4.5/hd i have captured hdv material by downconverting it during capture and using letterbox... it plays fine in the viewer window... when i make an edit to the timeline it tells me the video needs render, and would take a long time for a single clip... i'm guessing the sequence settings are wrong....
    what should they be?
    thanks

The sequence settings much match. If you select the proper easy setup then the next seq you make will match the Easy Setup. If that matches you settings you are good.
Here's a quick hack to always get those right.

I have an MPEG video that will run happily on MAC using either Quick Time or Itunes. Try the same on windows and one gets a 2048 error from quick time. itunes claims it's an unknown file type.
Real Player on window or MAC is perfectly happy with the file though.
I really need to get into itunes so that it can then loaded into a video ipod.

    How to install
When you click a link, a download of the installer file occurs to your Downloads Folder usually located next to your Trash Can or in your Users Folder.
Open the folder and double click (or File: Open) the download and icon can appear on your desktop which you open and inside is a installer package which you double click on to launch the installer.
OS X will check the download to make sure you intended to start it and that it's not malware it knows about.
Follow the installer instructions to install the software onto your computer and quit when finished.
Some require the browsers to be closed first, others require the machine to be restarted to enable the software.
Once the install is completed, remove any and all downloads from your Download folder, it's safer to keep this folder empty so you can keep track of what appears in there.
Drive by downloads of malware can occur and reside in the Downloads folder, mixing in with files residing there and await your click to install.
