Videora iPod Converter is a free video conversion application developed by the creators of Videora. It allows you to convert your regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into the proper video format that your iPod understands.
When combined with Videora, Videora iPod Converter + Videora allows you to download, convert and copy video to your device, automatically using BitTorrent and RSS technology. See xCasting for more details

yes I agree, but what does apple use, I have final cut studio, I'm going to try that encoder tonight.
These things end up being like captain ahab and the white whale to me, When I can't solve a problem it becomes an obsession, I will keep beating at it until I solve it.
Even though the mpeg4 video from 3 converters comes out with very acceptable quality when displayed on a tv.
Here's what I have used sucessfully so far to get good mpeg4.
psp media creator (awsome , somethimes a few artifacts with dark backgrounds, good for widescreen)
videora (good video, picture seems streched, some artifacts)
nerorecode 2 (bit slower, awsome quality 2 pass encoder, need to tweak settings to avoid skips and stutters)
Encoders I plan to test
Vegas Video 6 (does avc for psp)
Apple encoder (part of final cut studio)
stay tuned..

Where can I find Videora iPod converter on the net?

I use videora. It's not the most elegant or
efficient product. I've run into some quirks and
frustrations, but it gets the job done. Why, Do you
    know of an alternative?
3 GP is the most reliable and seems the fastest. Very easy to use.

  • Videora iPod converter Questions

    Hey,
Whenever I use Videora to convert my movie files from my PC (.wmv and .mov)... it goes really fast through the video and doesn't even take time to transcode. Then, when I try to open the transcoded files it says "Error! File not a valid movie file"
Anybody else having this same problem?

Not sure about .wmv and .mov, but I've used the Videora iPod Converter to convert a number of .mpg files to .mp4 and they worked fine and loaded and played fine of the iPod

  • Videora iPod Converter Help

So, I'm having the problem where I open the videora iPod converter choose transcode new video and in 1 and a half seconds it says finished, but when i go in to the export directory there is nothing there. I have looked over each step of about 4 different tutorials about 4 times and each and same with all FAQ's. I have seen my enable debug console (some explain why you can't copy that so i cant paste it here). It mentions that i should searc/find/delete all but the newest cygwin.dll. I seach, find, and then realize that the only cygwin.dll i have is the one that is in the "videoraipodconverter" folder . So I leave it there and then in my debug info it say that it should be located in a x:\cygwin\bin folder. So I created a folder C:\cygwin\bin and copied it in there, but still no dice. So I've searched more into the FAQ's and tutorials, but still no dice. I'm a pretty computer savvy person so you don't need to hold my hand through this, but I would appreciate some info, beecause I got no where else to turn and it seems a lot of people have this problem and most people are just posting the link to the same faq's to them that don't help. So any takers? Anyone know what is goin on and what to be a lamb and try and help me out? Thanks, I appreciate it

  • Using Videora Ipod Converter and having problems

I am using videora converter to convert movies which come in more than one part. The first part will concert but the next ones will not drag to my ipod. A box comes up stating that my ipod can't play it. It is the same format with just a different name (matrix-001.& matrix-002 ect.)How can I get the other parts to be compatible.

    I just did this yesterday.
In your settings you have a directory for the output video. Your video will be in this directory. Mine was set to ProgramFiles/VideoraIpodConverter/Videos, but you can change it in settings. The Video for Ipod will be in this directory.

  • Videora iPod Converter 0.9 Released

It is supposed makes the H.264 encoding work on the iPod. However, my first attempt using the
    b H.264/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps
setting did not work. Maybe I'll try again later, but I'm a bit disheartened at the moment. I can't really complain because I'm not paying for it or anything and I know that the team did a good job with their
    b PSP Video 9
release, so I know they'll get it right eventually. As slow as it is, QT7Pro is still the most reliable converter their is (except for the no audio on mpg issue).

I only tried one video. It's in MPG format and came from my Sony Cybershot originally in 640x480 resolution. I'll try a different kind of file later to double-check.
Unfortunately, my Cybershot video files do not convert well with QT7Pro. They convert, but with missing audio. Videora got the audio right, but iTunes still says it will not play on my iPod. I have successfully used QT7Pro to encode a movie (Lego Star Wars) and a music video (OK Go's "A Million Ways"). I just want to find an easy solution for my Cybershot videos as I shoot most all of our family home videos with it.

  • Can't get the Videora iPod Converter to convert the movies!

When I go to convert the movie they ask me to put the file in so i go to browse and then the movie and click Video TS and a crap load of more files come up. On other programs I have used just accept the Video TS but they were only trials.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Videora is horrible buggy software that should be avoided.
If you insist on using it-I beleive you need another program to convert DVD's or files it thinks are DVD's.
On a mac-handbrake(now media fork)is all you would need. It's free and works perfectly( at least for me).
For windows-there are 2 recommended pay for programs I have heard of, DVD shrink and DVDfab(does conversion if you buy platinum version).
    Good luck.

  • VIDEORA IPOD CONVERTER NOT WORKING!

When i try to transcode my movie it says transcode complete right away and doesn't convert my movie... Any Suggestions???
    HELP!!

Never mind. I think I used the wrong file.. i'm slowing figuring this video stuff out

  • VIDEORA IPOD CONVERTER HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

i have two issues with this program:
    1. i go to one-click transcode, select my files, they're done in 2 seconds but don't appear saved or in the program file when i go to itunes
    2. i select the files as above and it just says "starting job...please wait" forever. literally. it just doesn't do anything.
i would appreciate straightforward answers instead of hunting for them like i've had to do in other people's posts.

If your "converting...please wait" is still there after the bar says 100% then check the seconds converted.
a 2 hour video will be about 7200 seconds
if its anything well below that then the bar is just malfunctioning and you will have to wait until it hits about 7000 seconds and then it will say conversion complete, and it really will be done then.
    Hope that helps

  • Videora iPod Converter Question

  • Comparison for iPod Users: Free Online Converter & DVD to iPod Converter

Compare two channels of obtaining video sources for iPod: one is using online converter, the other is DVD to iPod Converter. After the general introduction of the two methods, I will analyze their advantages and disadvantages for you to choose according to your need.
Part One: Enjoy YouTube (online videos) on iPod
Instruction: a useful website to convert online video freely: http://www.vixy.net/
For vixy, you can just copy the URL of the online video into the “URL” blank of the vixy, then choose the format you want to convert to. Click “Start”. For a short time, the conversion will be finished. You can click the “Download the converted video” to restore the file.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/vixy.jpg
Advantages: Free online video converter. No software to install. Only a few clicks you can get the converted file after a short while. The most important thing is that online video sources are numerous and original, so you can get the first-hand sources in time through it. Some personal DVs are also shared with you.
Disadvantages: They set limitation of the length and size of the video. The classical movies usually are not on line available. Even if existed, the quality of image and sound is inferiors.
Part Two: Enjoy DVD movies on iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPhone, iPhone (3G), Apple TV
We usually bought classical DVD movies for collection or regular watching later, but DVD cannot be copied directly into iPod for us to appreciate it at anytime and anywhere. On this occasion, we need to convert DVD to the format, video and audio settings (Resolution, Bitrate, Frame Rate, etc) supported by your iPod player.
Instruction: the way to convert DVD to iPod: using Aiseesoft DVD to iPod Converter http://www.aiseesoft.com/dvd-to-ipod-converter.html
Install and run Aiseesoft DVD to iPod Converter
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/download/dvd-to-ipod-converter.exe
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/screen.gif
Step 1: Click “Load DVD” button to import your DVD
Step 2: Use “Profile” drop-down list to choose your output format.
Step 3: Click “Settings” for setting your video parameters.
At last click “Start” button to start your conversion.
    More tips:
    1. Merge into One File
If you want to merge the selected contents into one file you can check the "Merge into one file" option. As default the merged file is named after the first selected file (either a title or a chapter)
    2. Movie Effect
You can set the brightness, contrast, saturation of the video and volume of the audio.
    3. Trim Movie
It can help you to capture the segment of your movie.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/dvd-to-ipod-thread-trim.jpg
    4. Crop Video
You can remove black edge of your DVD movie and get any playing area of the video by using its "Crop Mode" function. You can also select "Zoom Mode" to extrude your video slightly to adjust to your portable devices so you can get the best video quality.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/dvd-to-ipod-thread-crop.jpg
    5. Take Snapshot
It allows you to capture your favorite pictures from your movie.
Advantages: In this way, you can make full use of your DVD: not only in DVD player, but your iPod player. The function of effecting and trimming allows you to clip the segment of the DVD movies complying with your will. You can enjoy more movies taking full advantage of your spare time while relaxing or traveling.
Disadvantages: DVD movies are usually popular, lacking of individualization. You can not share others' DVs.
With these two ways, we can enjoy the pleasure videos bring to us as much as we like. Have fun!

Depending on what update your iPod is, you may need
to dowload YAMB to make sure the videos play well on
your iPod. If you are watching a converted video on
your iPod and it freezes suddenly and this problem
continues, you need to download YAMB and convert the
files already converted with videora iPod converter
with YAMB, this will only take a few minutes.
I hope this helps you out.
Nope. All that a person with that problem should have to do is just update their iPod firmware to 1.1.1 with the newest updater, as that issue has been resolved in the latest firmware.

  • Converting Chapters of DVD with Viedora iPod Converter

I am trying to convert one chapter of my David Bowie concert DVD that is at most 4 minutes long. Why does Videora iPod converter take over 4 hours to transcode this segment? And why is it over 600,000 KBs? It's just one chapter.

Ok well I tested it by going VCR->DV converter->iMovie->iDVD, and the closed captions were lost at some point. The tape does have closed captions when played in the VCR, and I know my DVD player displays closed captions properly (I tested a commercial disc both in the Mac and in a standalone DVD player and those showed captions), but the DVD I created doesn't display closed captions either in the Mac DVD Player or the standalone unit.
So...anyone think maybe importing into Final Cut Pro and burning with DVD Studio Pro would work better for this than iMovie? I imagine there would be no difference (since iDVD uses the same Compressor app as DVDSP).
So I guess I'm stuck. At this point I can't even use the DVD/VCR dub machine since it won't allow dubbing of copy-protected tapes (even though this tape will likely never see a DVD release and it's crappy VHS quality anyway and it's just for my own personal use as a backup)...any suggestions?
