Videos and Movies not play right

Vids not play right (distorted), Audo (this time) OK though.
What do?
(Why do the vids not have their own list as before in library?)

Which ever one of these changes I made allowed the vids to work, but I do not know which one it was since I did both one right after the other and then applied, OK, closed QT and then checked vids.
Which one is most likely?
Disable Direct3D video acceleration in QuickTime
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
Open the QuickTime control panel.
Click the Advanced tab.
Deselect Enable Direct3D video acceleration in the Video section as shown here:
Click OK.
Disable DirectX in QuickTime
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
Open the QuickTime control panel.
Click the Advanced tab.
Select Safe mode (GDI only) in the Video section as shown here:
The Vids worked before the 7 update!
Why I have to change all this and IT not automatically allow to work with the update?
Why do I have to make all these changes and adjustments to make IT work again with 7?
Where is the "videos" section like "music" is under Library? (There use to be one, where is it now? I guess it is called "movies" now, but my music videos are not in there anymore, why and why only movies and not vids too?)

  • Getting videos and movies to play on iPod

I have many videos and movies, mostly mpeg.
I have been waiting 4 hours, since I clicked export save movie for iPod play? This is taking 4ever!
I upgraded to the QT Pro to accomplish this task, and the progess window now shows 28% At this rate it will take me years to save the videos I have - for iPod play!
Any way to speed up? I can only imagine how long it will take a full length movie???

    Eddy:
QT Pro is incredibly, incredibly slow - BUT the results are gorgeous and you don't have to fiddle with settings.
If you value speed over image quality, then you will need to download Handbreak.
Before you do, you will need to read the iPod DVD Ripping Guide, which explains the process.
If you want to rip the DVDs you own to your harddrive, get MacTheRipper. Doing so speeds up the process of converting to an iPod-compatible format.

  • Flip Video  and .avi not playing clean in FCP

Customer gave me 10 flip videos which I imported - they cam in as .avi files. When I play them in Quicktime they are smooth. When I play them in FCP 7 there is some pixelation and jumping around (not playing smooth). I did create the .avi file as a .mov files using Quicktime and reimported into FCP. The new .mov file still plays the same with all the pixelation.
Read some threads but I'm still a little confused as to what steps to take next.
Bottom line - I want the .avi file to play smoothly within FCP
What am I missing - thanks for your help!
    Shelley

I opened the .AVI file within the program. Then in the menu File menu within the program selected export as a Quicktime move. The specifics on the next screen I kept as default accept I increased the Quality to 100%. The default compressor was - Apple Motion JPEG A. That seemed to do it without any other tweaking for me.
    I hope that helps.

now i have loaded my cd's onto my wifes powerbook and have been able to play them on my ipod no problem. just the purchased music/videos from itunes, is not playing
    what did i do wrong.

Did you update the firmware on the iPod? Supposibly if fixes a few bugs.

If you didn't then try that. Believe me your problem is not with not using that CD as I never even popped the disk in my CD drive untill after I had updated my iPod as the software was outdated before it arrived at my house.

  • Video and Music not playing anymore ZiiO 10"

Music and Video are not playing anymore on my ZiiO 0".
I I click on Zii video, and then click on a .avi file, the screen stays black. If I click on the back button (the physical button) the following message appears:
    Sorry!
Activity ZiiVideo (in Application Ziivideo) is not responding. I can Force close or wait (but when I click wait the screen still stays black). Force close closes the application of course.
This problem also applies for ZiiMusic.
I bought the tablet yesterday. Everything was working fine, also with android 2.. After the upgrade to 2.2 Froyo, ZiiVideo/ZiiMusic was working fine as well.
After placing a few new video/mp3 files and trying to play, the problem appeared.
The only files?I deleted during the placing of the new video/music files, were the SAMPLE video/music files of Ziio.
    I tried the following:
    - Factory reset (Settings --> Privacy)
    - Re-installing the firmware (I have the correct firmware), by going through the steps of the firmware process again (firmware succeeds)
ZiiPhoto is working as well as the Webbrowser. However, when I go to Youtube and then click on a video, ZiiVideo is again not able to play the video (Ziivideo hangs, screen stays black).
Update: Just noticed camera is not working anymore. Same error as when trying to play a Video/Music file.
    Help!

    Problem solved.
I copied an Album with MP3 tracks which were most likely faulty?
I deleted the MP3 Album, and now everything works.
I have copied multiple video/MP3 tracks and all play well.
By the way, do you know of which type the HDMI connector on the Ziio 0" is? Is it type D?
And which audio formats does it play? I have a few .avi files which play video ok, but no sound?

  • Quick Time 7.67 video and audio not playing in CourseCompass MyMathLab

When I first used MyMathLab through Course Compass, the video and audio played with the digital picture broken up. Since then it stopped running the video and audio. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quick Time more than once without any change. Now when it is trying to load,I just get white screen with Q logo and an arrow running across the bottom of its window.

I forgot to mention I use Firefox. I just updated to Firefox 3.6.9 today. The quick Time problem already existed before I update Firefox. Is there a problem with Quick Time being compatible with Firefox?

  • BlackBerry Z10 and movies not playing after a device wipe.

    Greetings,
I have a number of movies I purchased and downloaded over the holidays, some which were gifts during the give away, and after I had to wipe and reload my device they are no longer working.
I used BlackBerry Link to sync all the movies (approximately 30GB) to my PC. I used BlackBerry Link to sync the movies back to my handheld. However after the movies finished synching I got the follow error when I tried to play them:
"The file can't be opened. Download the original file or its license again and try again".
I then went to BB world to download the license files again since I obviously had the movies, and on a number of them I got "Failed to get video license".
Question #1 - If I synced the folders using BB Link, why did it not include everything I need to play the movies again after a device wipe (including the license data)?
Question #2 - Why do I have to re-download the license data?
Question #3 - Why is the license file data failing to download again?
Question #4 - Why did the movies that failed to download the video license then start to re-download the entire movie when I hit the retry button?
Question #5 - Why are some movies such as "Deck the Halls" (with Sinbad) that I got through the xmas promotion not showing up in BB World so I can try to re-download the license file?
This who experience of wiping my Z10 and starting over has been a major pain, starting with the slow speed of Link syncing to the fact that I clearly didn't sync over everything I needed to so I could re-sync my movies and make them operational again.

The movies were all on my SD card. They are also not backed up by Link which is why had them synced to my phone as a poor man's backup.
So either Link did not backup the necessary licensing information in the main memory of my phone, or Link did not synchronize the necessary licensing information off my SD card. Either way I am stuck with 3 movies that I cannot play, because I can no longer find them in the BlackBerry World store to re-dowbload whatever licensing information is needed.
I even just tried a media restore from Link because it was 138 MB in size (and in don't normally store anything on my phone's main storage), but alas no licensing information was restored.

I opened my iPhoto library today which was stored on an external hard drive and several of my videos now will not play at all. The weird thing is that each file shows a duration of 1 second and when I open them it just shows one frame. What the !&%$#@ Where did my original video files go?

Sounds like a good plan, you can never be to safe and having a second External HD is safer than one.
The only thing that I would do different, is setup the 3T as my TimeMachine Backup and then erase and move my Photos, Videos and perhaps even iTunes Media to the 1T. That way you will have room to backup both the Internal Hard Drive and the 1T External Hard Drive to the 3T using TimeMachine.
Take your time, study and use the > Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions if you get stuck or aren't sure how to make the move.

  • Since updating to 7, videos and movies won't play

I just uploaded the latest version of iTunes. Since doing so yesterday, the videos and movies I had in my Library won't play. I get the sound, but all I get for a picture is colors. Anyone know how to debug? How do I get to view my videos again?
    Thanks

First thing to check would be system requirements,
Right click on My Computer click on Properties,
Near the bottom it will say what processor and Ram are.
For all video to play properly iTunes / Quicktime requires 2.0+ GHz Pentium Class processor and 512MB Ram and 32MB Video Ram.
If you do meet the system requirements, You may want to try uninstalling / reinstalling Quicktime.
    Start...Control Panel...Add Remove Programs
    Remove Quicktime
    Open My Computer
Browse to c:\Program Files\ and delete the Quicktime folder.
Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html and make sure that QuickTime 7.1.3 for Windows 2000/XP is selected.
Download and install, After install, restart and test.
    Hope that works.

  • Imported .mov files turn green and do not play

I imported some video files using the Camera Connector Kit from my Nikon V1 to my iPad 3rd Gen, which are .mov, and they turn green and do not play the actual video footage; however, the sound does play. I've searched the Discussions and have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same issue. Did you find any solution?

  • Hi Def video is jumpy and will not play back smoothly in FCPX

I have the latest version of Final Cut Pro X only an older, but fully compatible IMac, and have a new Panasonic AG-Hmc 40P video camera. I have shot video on my Gro Prop Hero 2 and the playback of the unedited video is perfect, but as I scroll through the unedited footage shoot by the Panasonic, the video is jumpy and will not play back smoothly. The video plays perfectly on the the camera in play back mode, but in FCPX it is junk.
Do I have an incorrect setting that is doing this? I adjusted the palynack in preference but that made no difference.  I need help?

    FYI...
There's a hidden feature in Mac OS X Lion that you can use to convert your video footage to Apple ProRes with very little effort and to the right specifications...
Bring your video footage into your desktop or hard drive and then select all of them, and then right-right click on one of them to bring up the options menu... select ENCODE SELECTED VIDEO FILES. Mac OS X will take care of the rest for you automatically.
If this option doesn't show up, make sure to install those codecs I recommendad earlier...

I purchased a movie through iTunes and the movie gets stuck on the opening screen and will not play.  Has anybody had this happen?  And if so is there any solution?

    Hey Christian,
I'd follow the troubleshooting steps below, from this article:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
See if that resolves the issue and gets your video playing again.
    All the best,
    David

  • 5th gen iPod lost and will not play videos after connecting to iTunes

I have a 5th gen iPod. When last connecting to iTunes, videos and movies disappeared. Purchased a new movie that iTunes says was compatible with 5th gen, movie won't transfer to iPod. My settings state that I will manually manage videos and music. Performed all 5 "R"s and iPod still won't accept movies "...can't be played on this iPod"

Let's try the following user tip with that one:
