Videos Blurry When Exported

I am using CS4 and whenever I render a video it comes out blurry. I am using the default settings when exporting media.
Any idea what I can do?

  • I am recording from my computer screen with an elgato game capture card.  Why is the video blurry when I import it to Premiere elements?

I am recording my computer screen with an elgato game capture card.  When I play the unedited footage on my own computer, it is clear and crisp.  When I import the footage into premiere elements, it becomes blurry.  It becomes even blurrier when I save the edited video.  How do I keep the video clear?  How do I fix it?

    Thanks for the reply.
Please check out John T. Smith's information.
At this point, if you could tell us the file extension of the file involved, that would give us a start while you are
gathering the rest of the details.
You can easily get some information for us from Properties for your imported video that is blurry in the Editor.
    1. Click on Expert to get into the Expert workspace of Premiere Elements 13
    2. If you have not already, import your file into the program using Add Media/Files & Folder/Project Assets.
    3. Open Project Assets to see a thumbnail for the video that you just imported. Right click that thumbnail,
and select and click on Properties from the menu that opens.
    4. Tell us what is listed there is Properties - it should look something like this one which is specific for one of my wmv files.
Your information will be specific to the file that you right clicked in your Project Assets.
From what you have written so far, yours should show
    Image Size 1920 x 1080
Frame Rate either 59.94 or 60
Also, please go to Edit Menu/Project Settings/General, and tell us what you see for
    Editing Mode
    Timebase
    Frame Size
    Pixel Aspect Ratio
even if the fields look grayed out.
Your project settings may be contributing your Edit area previewing problems.
All of the above will keep us moving forward in the troubleshooting.
    Thanks.

  • Poor video Quality when exporting to DVD

I cant seem to get a clear video. I am downloading from DV from a canon and the quality is sentational.
When on the time line averything is brilliant. When rendereing everything is still ok.
When exporting to DVD it goes pear shaped. I have tried dozens of different variations with the same results.
I am in AUstralia and am using PAL.
I get motion blur and what appears to be very poor quality result after exporting.
Help... I dont have much hair left.
    Premier Pro Tragic

    @Harm,
"Pear-shaped" (or sometimes "fruit-shaped") is a euphemism meaning that the effort has gone awry; it was a mess.
    @John,
Export to DVD is a PPro 2.0 function; in CS3 it is now Export to Encore. Is that what you meant?
First thing is to check the field orders of your source material and of your export settings. Don't invert them, and don't deinterlace interlaced footage.
Perhaps a short list of the settings you have tried (and why you chose those settings) would help us help you.

  • Video becomes soft and watermark blurry when exporting to iphone

Hi guys, having a bit of an issue. I have some video i saved as apple either pro res 422 HQ or apple pro res 4x4. When i try going from that, to a .mp4 h.264 format (either in quicktime or compressor using the apple devices preset, at 700 kb) the video gets soft, and the watermark gets choppy when ever something is moving behind it. I've noticed going straight from source material things look fine. I know going from source is always going to be better, but i didn't think the difference was going to be so catastrophic. Anyone have some tips?

New feature in QuickTime is Export to Web and it is still in "baby" step mode.
Nice to have QuickTime writing the page code and creating the reference movie but a little more understanding by the page authors is required.
Take a look at the data rate differences between the "cellular" and "iPhone" settings. 900kbit/sec versus 56kbit/second rate.
Same dimensions (I suppose because I've done no tests) so the 56 kbps so that version would download very fast and look very ugly.
If you don't need it (and we all probably don't) just remove the check mark before choosing Export. But, since it will be such a tiny file, no real harm using it (unless you get comments that your video looked very ugly when viewed "cellularly".

  • Premiere Pro CS3: bad video quality when exporting for YouTube

    Hi!
I'm a newbie to this forum and yes, I've looked for an answer before posting. I'm also pretty new to Premiere Pro and I hope that the problem I'm having is more my fault than Premiere's (it most likely is.)
I have project, a little YouTube-Video. But whenever I export it, the quality is really poor. I've also tried rendering it with Windows Movie maker and, strangely enough, the quality is much better and closer to the original file. My big question is: what am I doing wrong?
    Here are some additional info:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
Windows 7 Professional, 32 Bit (PC)
The movie file was shot with a Sony DSC-W170 and is an .mpg file
    Video:
    640x480
    10418kBit/s (total: 10483 kBit/s)
    30fps
    Audio:
    64kBit/s
    Mono
    32kHZ
    Project settings: DV-Pal
    Standard-PAL-Video (4:3 Interlaced).
    48 kHz (16 Bit) Audio
I used the Adobe Media Encoder for the export, H.264/YouTube. I've also tried several other settings, but I never get as good a result as with the Windows Movie maker. Can anyone please tell me how I can fix this? (Maybe the quality of the video already suffers when I import the files into Premiere Pro? The video in the source and the cutting window is very blurry.)
Here you can see for yourself what it looks like:
File rendered with Adobe Premiere CS3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTAyx6O27Dg
File rendered with Windows Movie Maker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVeoUOfM_uo&feature=youtu.be
I hope somebody can help me. If you need additional info which I haven't provided, ask away. Thank you so much in advance for your replies!

    YT is set to privet.
Keep project settings and export settings same as camera.
Try H.264 (mp4) for export instead.

  • Clear in FCE, but then blurry when exported!

I made a movie in FCE. Here is the info for the videos i used to make it - 1280 by 720 HD = dimensions/H.264, interger (little Endian) = codec!
However when i export it with quicktime conversion w/ the same specs. it comes out saying it 720 hd but looks very blurry!
        Am i doing something wrong?

I want to post it to a site, and also just for family viewing on my imac (but it looks pretty bad, and i don't won't to show it off yet)!
Also if you look here i am having a problem with FCE! https://discussions.apple.com/message/15497616#15497616

  • Speed change isn't blurry in the canvas but it is blurry when exported

I have a video using all HDV footage at 29.97 fps and I've slowed it down to 58% and I've taken off Frame Blending. I'm familiar with how this is supposed to look, and It looks fine when I play it in the timeline, but when I export it out as a Quicktime movie it is very blurry, considerably more than on the canvas playback. Also, there's an extreme color correction effect applied to all the footage as well and it becomes extremely muted when I export the footage.

Did you use CS5 or CS6 in the past? Did you set those apps to use offline help only so that you didn't have to watch Adobe Air update itself every time you tried to open Help? If so, there might be an old Adobe Help (CS5 / CS6) preference lingering on your machine. You wouldn't think CC would respect it, but you would be wrong. I had to install old Adobe Help (for CS5 / CS6) and change the pref.
I downloaded the outmoded Adobe Help app by way of: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/?helpcfg=http://help.adobe.com/HelpCfg/en_US/Dreamweaver. helpcfg&url=http://helpx.adobe.com/en/dreamweaver/topics.html&product=dreamweaver

  • Xha1 video blurry when played but not paused

ok so i shot video on the canon xha1, hdv 60i.
when the footage is paused it looks super clean, but when i play it, its all blurry. both render bars in timeline show grey. not green and blue. this wont be the export quality will it? and can i fix it?

Your real time preview is showing you a proxy image (decreased quality) in order to keep the playback up to speed.
No, your export won't look like that.
You'd do well to connect an external ntsc (or pal as appropriate) monitor to understand how your material really appears. The manual has a section on connecting external monitors and this forum has a plethora of posts explaining it as well. Recognize what works for DV will not work for HDV.
    good luck.

  • Video freezes when exporting to Full Quality

[Background: I've been working on a video project in iMovie HD that I'm doing in pieces - exporting each section of the video at full quality when it's done, so that later I can put them all together in a new project.]
Lately I've been having major problems exporting to full quality Quicktime files. The exported video freezes a few frames in, though the audio continues to play normally. This does not happen if I save it to a smaller quality, say, Web Streaming.
I'm having trouble seeing a pattern in how/why/when this happens, too. I have successfully exported movies to full quality both before and after movies that export incorrectly. The first project that had this happen, I decided to reassemble bit by bit to find out if something specific was causing the problem. Turns out that Full Quality exporting started having this problem if I had added titles. After jumping through something like 50 hoops - exporting little pieces, reimporting, exporting just the titles, etc., etc - I managed to work around the issue. Bit of a headache but all seemed to be well.
BUT, the frozen video problem soon happened again. The next time I had this trouble exporting, there were no titles in the project at all, and the problem instead occurred once I added music. So there does not seem to be a pattern within iMovie itself. This makes me think it's either a Quicktime problem or something to do with my computer itself. I have 2GB of memory, 37GB of space left on my hard drive, and I'm running Quicktime 7.4.1 and iMovie HD 6.0.4.
Please help! I'm on a bit of a deadline, too. This is driving me crazy!

Thanks Matt. I am in the same boat as many people have obviously been in - trying to burn a DVD to a film fest deadline of tomorrow, and after 4 hours of trying to make a disk image, getting 'error during burn'.
    I have one question.
    a) In imovie, I clicked the 'create iDVD' button to create this project - which has problems burning.
    b) Now if I simply try to drag that .mov file into the iDVD pane as you suggest, is that identical to what I have done in a) - in that we're operating with the same basic animal. Of so
    c) I should try the process of exporting to .dv, reimporting to new imovie, redoing chapter markers and THEN dragging the package .mov to the iDVD pane - hoping that chapter markers are preserved.
Oh ... someone said one should try to save the .mov as a sel contained file. is that necessary?
Thank you for sitting in front of you Mac!

  • Why do I lose video content when exporting/backing up a video clip to DVD in iPhoto?

I am transferring/backing up my iPhoto library to a DVD.  When I do this, I see the "content" of any video clip does not transfer. By this I mean I can see the image identifying the clip on the DVD but the "time" is 0:00.  Can someone pls advise how to get this content to transfer so I can eliminate these clips from the iMac?  Thanks!  (I have Mac OS X 10.7.5 and IPhoto 11 9.4.3)

How are you backing up the library?  Are you exporting the photos to a DVD or a folder on the Desktop and buring that to a DVD?  If so be sure to select Kind = Original in order to get the actual video file.

  • Video stretched when exported even when "letterbox" is checked

Hi, I'm trying to export a lower quality version of one of my HD movies. I've previously been able to do this when I export using Quicktime Conversion at 640x480 with the "letterbox to preserve aspect ratio" option checked. However, I just did exactly that but when it is exported the video looks stretched and distorted and no letterbox bars appear on it. I've tried switching from H.264 to m-peg4 converter to see if that would make a difference but it is still exporting stretched videos. Why has this suddenly changed, and are there any fixes you know about?
    Thanks!
    Andrew

Try creating a new Project with the Sequence settings matching the footage correctly. Then copy/paste the the incorrect Sequence into the new matching Sequence.

  • Poor video quality when exporting

I am new to Premiere and don't know all the functions yet. (at all)
    I have wto questions.
I have successfully imported and edited my video, but it seems, that the final result (the preview at the right) is cutting off the edges of my video.
I have tried the "Scale to frame size" function, and then it looks better. But I think it's quite strange, that it fits perfectly in the left preview...?
My second issue is when I import the video. It should be recorded in full HD or at least 720p, but when I export it it is in 576p.
It's pretty hard for me to tell what I do when I export, so here's one more screenshot:
I use .avi and have tried to do the "Use maximum render quality" but it still seems to be poor quality.
Can anyone tell me (in an easy way) how to fix this and how to prevent the edges of being cut off?
Thank you so much for your time!

If you shot HD or 16:9 footage you should have edited in a Sequence that matche that Source. ie NOT SD

  • Why is my video pixelated when exporting from Premiere Pro?

    Hi,
I'm a musician wanting to make some basic videos for YouTube. The videos will consist of an intro (logo, title etc) and audio playing over a still image which will last the duration of the song. I've edited the still image for the video within Photoshop (CS5.1). The image is of a woman screaming and is intentionally very dark. When I export this image from Photoshop, the quality is excellent. When I then import this image into Premiere Pro (CS5.5) and export as the finished video, the quality of the image is significantly reduced and is rather pixelated. After spending hours searching online and trying different settings to achieve the result I want, I've had no luck, and I'm now in desperate need of a professional opinion. Is it possible to get the same quality image within the exported video as I get from an exported Photoshop file?
    Things I've tried:http://www.ashmathos.com/Musici
Photoshop - Exporting image using different file types - .tif , .PNG , .PSD  etc
Premiere Pro - Exporting video using different formats - .FLV , Quicktime and MPEG4
                        - Changing the Capture format between DV and HDV
                        - Different presets - AVCHD, HDV, DV - PAL/NTSC etc
Both the image exported from Photoshop and the video are 1080p (square pixels)
An example of what I've explained can be found here:
    http://www.ashmathos.com/Musician/Test
(The video can be found below the image)
    To any responders,
    Thank you!

Can't you see how the video is pixelated? Mainly around the nose and forehead?
Nope.  Looks fine when I watch it.

  • Video error when exporting from slideshow - any fixes?

When I try to export video from the LR Slideshow module I always get the same error msg:
    - Cannot create encoder instance, h264OutVideoNew failed
    - error: h264OutVideoChkSettings - no library function available
    - error: No encoder library could be found!
Can anyone help me remedy this?
    Thanks,
    Dennis

There's another thread here discussing the same error message, though not in exactly the same circumstance:

Perhaps something in that thread will help you.

  • My footage from the Nintendo Entertainment System gets blurry when exported or rendered in CS4.

Ive tried searching all over for someone with the same problem but with no luck.
Im running Adobe Premiere CS4 on a Windows Vista.
Ive trying to edit together a bunch of clips from a Nintendo Entertainment System game. Ive already got all the footage & all the footage looks fine when I veiw it and when I put it in premiere, the problem doesnt come up until I render it or try to export it. This happens no matter what footage I use,no matter what size I make the footage. Ive even tried simply importing a clip into premiere then exporting it and it still gets blurred.
    The clips themselves are .AVI
Here's a sample of what keeps happening to my footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90jVmz2Tr-0
And here's a sample of what it should look like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=davCKKtgqak
    Please help me

But thats exactly it. Im not sure what Im doing wrong with MediaInfo. I dont see it telling me what I should be useing anywhere. All it tells me is what I have. I dont see anyway of rendering on it. I see ways to export it but all it does is export the info it already shows me.
