Videos exporting terribly- stopping at 2 frames for rest of movie.

For some reason, when I try to export files, using the stock exporter, it will take like an hour to export, and then when I check the file, the second half of the video is usually just flickering between two frames with the audio still going.
Anyone have ANY idea how to fix this?

You can use separate videos, or a single video. The single video is easier for your desired navigation. You will find more people asking how to get the "chapter" or scene video to back to a menu when it ends, and also have a play all. So ignore the advice on those.
Single video:
Your single video goes on one Encore timeline. "Play all" is a button to the timeline, and the timeline has an end action of "last menu."
Chapter menu has 4 buttons (plus a fifth to go back to the main menu), going to each respective chapter marker. There are no end actions on the chapter markers, so when another chapter is reached, it keeps playing through just like the play all.
Multiple videos:
Each video goes on its own timeline. The end action of video one timeline is video two timeline etc. Play all is a button that goes to timeline one. The chapter menu also has a button going to chapter one, and it works the same as the play all. Each of the chapter buttons go to their respective chapter timelines.
Encore can have some issues with lags, but I don't think they affect either of these workflows. Do not rely on the Encore preview; burn a test disk and play on a DVD player.

  • Video set to stop on last frame appears lighter than last frame

I've got a video set to "stop on the last frame" using the technique described here:
    http://digitalpublishing.tumblr.com/post/6141054971/how-to-make-a-video-stop-at-the-last-f rame-here
Works great. But whenever I do this, there is a slight darkening when the multi-state object appears at the end. To create the image for the multi-state objects, I opened the video in Photoshop, grabbed the last frame, and saved it as a JPEG.
Anyone have any ideas? I've tried saving the end image as a PNG, lots of other workarounds, but the problem persists. I've noticed this in other publications I've downloaded also, so I think the problem is widespread.

great to see this trick evolve in a first-frame-lasf-frame-method, wich I
    thought about,too lately.
Will post an update in my article next time ii get the chance.

  • After a few minutes on certain websites, firefox stops drawing new frames without a mouse movement to force a redraw

After having certain pages open for between 5-15 minutes (at the most) such as youtube, facebook, or myspace (these are the sites that consistently cause it, but are not limited to them.) The browser no longer draws new frames without the mouse being moved and calling the draw function through it.
The issue started a month or two ago. There had been no new plugins or add-ons installed for at least another month prior.
The closing X in the top right also becomes non responsive (though it will light up.) The browser can be closed through the right click menu in the task bar, along with the closing X in the thumbnail preview.
Program and window completely freeze when attempting to move the window for around 10 seconds, then move to the location designated.

  • Is it possible to place a video into a circle frame for export as interactive PDF?

I've been trying to figure out how to embed video files into a circle shape frame for export as interactive pdf. Every time I export the document as interactive PDF, the video frame reverts back to a rectangle shape. Basically what I'm attempting to do is embed a .gif like animation of a face (saved as mp4 because it's my understanding that PDF can't support gif files) in a circle frame that plays on document load when exported as interactive pdf. Any suggestions, bypasses, solutions would be much appreciated.

    Correct! Good solution!
But you missed a couple steps in your directions:
    (1) Make a rectangle filled with Paper color.
    (2) Make a circle filled with None (this will be the mask for the movie).
    (3) Move the circle over the rectangle. Select both and choose Object > Path > Make Compound Path. This creates a paper-color rectangle with a hole.
    (4) Position the rectangle-with-hole object over the movie to position the mask.
    (5) Use the Buttons and Forms panel to make that object into a button. Give it an action of playing the movie.
    (6) Choose File > Export > PDF (Interactive).
It works because the button (which has interactivity) is atop another object which has interactivity (the movie).
    Brilliant!

  • Can't set POSTER FRAME for .mp4 movies... can for most others

    I've got QTPro.
When I try to create a poster frame for a .mp4 movie I compressed it tells me I have to save and does one of the following two things:
    1) Tells me I can't save after I hit SAVE
    2) Tells me it wants to save as a .mov file... I don't WANT a .mov file.
    Any thoughts?

You can edit your published pages using hundreds of tools but the are best edited with a plain text editing app like BBEdit (any plain text editor works).
You can use Safari to view your page and even "save" the source code (Command-Option-U) and then "save as". Edit this new page to make your changes and drag it back into the appropriate Web older of your iDisk (replacing the older version).

  • Used overlay creator to insert video for animation. Need it to stop on last frame and stay that way

I found a way to animate my section slug for the iPad version of our book.
Everything looks and works perfectly, but the video of the slug eventually stops and reverts back to the original image, whereas I want it to stay on that last frame when it stops playing as the last frame is the slug.
Is this possible? Maybe through scripting?

I think that to do this using a video, you can use a poster option, but the problem is using poster option the start and the end of the video is
    the same.
I think that the best way is export your video to pictures secuence and configure in ID like a Multistates objet or 360ª and then you could stop
in the frame that you want.
Also you can try make your animation in flash and convert this animation to html with Wallaby. And then in ID you can use webloader.

How do I export a 98 min video edited in FCP 7 to IDVD for single disc DVD burning?

Your current settings should match the source material in your timeline. Though, it probably doens't matter what it is as long as your settings are not for a highly compressed format like h.264 or mpeg2.
iDVD should take any all "I" frame format and encode it. (All I frame formats include DV, DVCProHD, ProRes).

  • How to add a rectangle color frame for the video clips ?

    Hi there,
I have shrink the 3 video clips small enough to fit all 3 of them into 1 screen.
And now I want tomake a border rectangle color frame for these 3 video clips.
Any tips on how I shall start ?
    Thanks & regards
    Cheers

    Ian R. Brown wrote:
I have a feeling it can't be done because the border will probably go round the original full size video.
A workaround would be to use the Custom generator to make a rectangle which you resize and put above the background.
Then put your video you want framed on top of the lot and resize it so that a bit of the coloured Custom generator is showing all the way round.
It's gonna be fiddly but simple enough in theory!
Thanks Ian, that was a good idea.
But my cropped video clip is a video clip being color-keyed (ie my video clip has alpha channel & the background is transparent). So putting a colour image behind the clip does not work because it will be seen through the alpha channel.
    Any tips ?
    Thanks

Thanks for getting back so quickly,
Here is my problem. I have 2 Macs, a desktop and a laptop. The laptop
running Tiger (operating system) and Adobe CS3 which is fine for

I looked up Flash video exporter on the Adobe site (see link below)

available for CS4 and for Mac.

  • Setting poster frame for video automatically?

Does anyone know if there is a way to automatically set a poster frame for imported video files in Aperture 3? I was very pleased to be able to import all of my camera video files, but once imported they all were black. I am able to click and "Set Poster Frame" but that is a very tedious process to go through for even a small amount of video files.

Thank you!!!! I've been working on this for hours. I've completely erased and re-imported the videos no less than three times. The poster frames would show...and then disappear on final import...it was driving me crazy!
Just in case I can help someone else track this post down with google...
Aperture 3 was giving me black thumbnails when I imported Flip HD videos. I tried setting poster frames, but no love. Generate thumbnails corrects the problem of black poster frame, black key frames, black thumbnails, whatever you want to call it. thank you.

  • Video sound won't stop when changing frames on timeline

I've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress.  But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with.
    I'm using Flash CS5.
I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on.  I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections.
Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop.  It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again.  The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me.  In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline.  Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
I appreciate any help on this!
