Videos from iTunes on Quicktime

I notice many current issues with videos not playing correction on Quicktime. I've purchased TV shows through iTunes, but attempting to play them on Quicktime produces cut-up picture snips with streaming audio. It's blotchy, as others point out. Sometimes with screens blanking out. But mostly just paused action that doesn't keep up with the audio.
The helpful people on this discussion list continually suggest reading one particular help file that Apple publishes about video problems. I've followed every step with no good results.
Does anyone have an idea whether this is a known bug that Apple will address? Seems pretty systemic to me...

No answers here. I'm having the same problem. Have bought several TV shows and movies for my iPod that work fine on it, but play just as you described in iTunes and Quicktime(Pro). It is doing this on both my PCs. One is a Dell M1710 core 2 duo running Vista and the other is the same running XP Media Center. What's funny is my Zune software plays the unprotected content just fine but QT dropps about half the frames while the audio streams fine. My machines both have an NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 512 MB ram. I hope someone finds a solution. I've tried every setting and spent hours on forums looking for answers.

Quicktime 7 not playing videos from Itunes...

So recently I noticed my Quicktime 7 has been acting strange. It used to play all my videos flawlessly... it still does, although i've noticed movies bought from the itunes store wont play anymore. When I try to open the file on QT 7 I get the black screen but then It exits out and I get the "Quicktime 7 Has Quit Unexpectedly" and I get the Kern_Protection_Failure log ( whatever that is) It's weird, before every file i tried worked perfectly, but now I cant get them to play.... Is There any fix to this or has Quicktime 7 completely stopped supporting movies/videos from Itunes? ******Oh, by the way They DO however play in Quicktime X****** I''m running 2009 macbook pro 13-inch OSX 10.6.8 and All software is up to date. Import a video from itunes

I purchased a video from itunes and saved it as a quicktime movie on my desktop. I am working on a imovie project and wanted to use a clip from the video. When I try to import the video it says that the computer is not authorized through itunes. I type in my password to authorize and it says that the computer is... and then another message comes up that imovie/itunes is not authorized to use it in imovie. Its like mac won't allow you to use the video clip??? What can I do? Please help!

That sounds about right.
Apple's ability to sell music and tv shows is probably based on strict agreements regarding the terms under which customers can use the product.
And there are differences between use of music and video. For example, you can copy tracks from a cd, burn to a disc, put them on your iPod etc. Defeating dvd encryption, however, even for personal use, is illegal in the United States, but is a bit more fuzzy in other countries.
So you may have just hit the first line of defense in the war against video piracy. It's a heck of a lot easier than stopping people from copying dvds.
At the same time, someone here may already have found a workaround. Hang out and see.

iMovie works best with uncompressed audio. If your track is MP3 or AAC, you may get better results by converting your track to the AIFF format and then using that in iMovie.
You can do this in iTunes. Go to iTunes/Preferences and click the General button. On the General page, click the Import Settings button. Choose IMPORT USING: AIFF ENCODER.
(note: remember what you changed it from so you can change it back later, before you import another CD)
Now, in iTunes, select your track. Then click FILE/CREATE NEW VERSION/AIFF VERSION.

Cannot sync videos from iTunes to iPhone 5S

I recently got an iPhone 5S 32 GB. I restored it through iTunes from a backup of my old iPhone 4S 16 GB. Since the restore, & after an upgrade to iOS 8.0.2, I can no longer sync videos from iTunes 11.4.0.18 to the iPhone. Previously I had been syncing a number of these videos to the 4S for years.
Here's what I've always done: I simply connect the iPhone to my PC via a lightning cable. Next I click on the "Movies" button at the top of the window. Then I check the box to sync the movies that I wish to transfer. Finally I hit "Apply." The sync starts, but the movies never make it to the phone for some reason.
When I click on "Movies" under the iPhone on the left side of the screen, I see a listing of the movies that should have synced. They are listed there, but they are kind of greyed out, & they have a dotted circle beside them. This is very puzzling because I have over 17 GB of free space on the phone. I can also confirm that the files are on my hard drive in the location shown when I right-click & hit "Get Info." I can also successfully sync the very same videos with my iPad mini.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

UPDATE: I backed up my phone, wiped it (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), & then restored it through iTunes. For whatever reason, that seems to have fixed the problem. Movies now sync to my phone like they used to.
That process seems to have corrected 1 or 2 other minor issues, including one where iTunes was 'syncing artwork' for a long time on every sync.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. Problem transferring video from iTunes to iPod

I can't transfer video from iTunes to iPod. DVD movies converted to MP4 using Cucusoft software and a TV show purchased from iTunes Music Store won't transfer. The only video that has tranferred successfully is a video podcast called "Tiki Bar". It did ok.

Connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferenes. Click the iPod tab. Click the videos tab under that. Make sure automatically update all videos is selected.
Note: Your preferences may look slightly different.
Also, try playing the video you purchased from the iTunes Music Store for a few seconds on your computer.

Error message when trying to transfer/sync video from itunes to ipod

I have never had this problem before, but I just purchased a couple music videos from itunes and then was trying to manually transfer/sync them to my ipod and then I receive the error message "Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to"
I can transfer/sync music just fine still, and I have transferred music videos in the past. And I checked the info tab on the music videos and they are "protected content" but I have been able to transfer other protected content videos from itunes before.
I have tried restarting itunes and the ipod, putting it in disk mode and nothing seems to work. I would appreciate someone's help, THANK YOU!

Downloading videos from itunes

I have purchased 3 videos from itunes music store but they wont download. A message pops up that reads...."There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to." I have gone to the advanced tab and clicked on the CHECK FOR PURCHASES...but yet it will still not download. this problem has been occuring since last thursday. What can i do to solve this problem?

Your itunes is running, so I doubt this has anything to do with it. Does your Qtime run too?
