• TS3354 I downloaded a movie but when I play it, it's just a black screen

I downloaded a movie on my iPad but when I go to play it, it's just a black screen. The whole entire movie is just a black screen.

Hi, Ktjayne05.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device.  If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.  Test playing the movie after processing these steps.
If the movie still displays a black screen, I would recommend deleting the movie and downloading it again free of charge by accessing your purchases via the iTunes Store.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Hope this helps,

• Downloaded tv show from itunes and it won't play on my mac, just a black screen

downloaded tv show from itunes and it won't play on my mac, just a black screen

Did you burn the CD as an audio CD?
If not, that's your problem. Otherwise, without more details I can only guess. You might try a different brand of disk, or if you're using CD-RW try CD-R.
Regards.

• NY Times Videos have stopped playing

The NY Times Headlines daily email always has several links to videos. They used to play automatically when selected; but for the last couple of weeks they do not. I only get the Times video frame, but the area where the video should play just remains black.
I have no problem seeing videos on YouTube, Facebook, etc. I also see the Times videos when I link to them in Internet Explorer; but they will not play in Firefox.
As far as I know my Flash, Java, etc. are all up to date.
Please advise!
Thanks.

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

• Trying to update Firefox Adobe plugin and just get black screen

Firefox had some issue with some page (windows PC), and said my Plugins needed to be updated.  The message didn't say which one, but the plugin checker showed several.  I clicked on the first one: Shockwave Flash Update NOW link that Firefox provides and this is what I get:
Further poking around shows ALL pages on adobe.com looking similar.
What is going on?????   What to do?  Is this just indicative of Adobe's lack of quality control.  My platform may be a tad old, but I have had NO trouble with any pages rendering correctly.   Only a VERY poor web designer would cause that kind of problem!
Kind of hard to use IE to update my Firefox plugins!!!  Rock and a hard place.

sounded like a great idea, but alas, it did not help.
Suspecting Java, I decided to update my java FF plugin too, but the "update now" button just brings me to the release notes page that does not have a download direct link.  There are a gazillion download choices and none that sound like the particular component that Firefox said I needed.  Java plugin updates are not meant for normal people anymore (esp since Oracle took over).  This hands-off Java "support" always been a flaw of the Firefox usage model IMO.

• I am trying to run Greasemonkey on Mozilla which is a mozilla add-on but my computer keeps running mozilla in safe-mode. I have uninstalled the add on and it still restarts in safe-mode.

I have been running Greasemonkey for about 3 - 4 weeks. working fine. A few bugs but nothing substantial.
However, today I downloaded a new user script. It too was working fine. I left my computer running and went out. When I came back I continued playing Kingdoms of Camelot.
I had to refresh the page and then got an error message
Power Tools ERROR!
X
The dependency "prototype.js" was not found.
Please reinstall Power Tools here.
If I check I notice that Mozilla is running in safe-mode.
I uninstalled the Greasemonkey add-on but Mozilla is still running in safe-mode.
I have restarted and rebooted. But it is still ion safe-mode.

HI
i have the same problem , but it's coming from the new version of GREASEMONKEY 0.9.0 .
I supose we can only wait of a new power ^^

• I have a Mac Air.  When I go to view any video online (youtube for example)and click on a video, I get the space where the video should play but there is just a black screen and no play button and the video does not start.  Any ideas?

I have a Mac Air. When I go to view  video online (youtube for example), the screen for the video comes up with a black square space where the video should play.  But there is no pay button and the vidoe never starts playing.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shockwave and Flash are not the same. Try installing a Flash plug-in. Here's the latest: Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.183

• I recently updated to iOS8.1on my iPad 1and it ran very slow. Just a few minutes ago, it shut down compoeteoy and I cannot get ANY response at all. Just a black screen.  Any help pkease?

Can anyone tell me how to restart my iPad that just shut down, while I was reading a book on Overdrive? I still had plenty of battery life.  I tried to reboot holding down the off button, but no response at all.

Photos that are in the cloud stay there until they are removed by a device that has the right privileges. If your iPad is logged in with the same AppleID, then doesn't it show the photos from iCloud?
You will only be on iCloud Drive if you expressly chose to upgrade.

• ITunes opens only in safe mode; does not open at all in regular mode (possible solutions that I found to similar problems don't seem to apply)

I haven't been able to open iTunes normally since june when I did the automatic upgrade. I have tried resetting it to an earlier version with no results and have tried everything i could find on apple support in similar problems and nothing seems to be working. When I open my task manager it does show iTunes in the process tab but it doesn't open. When I check my iphone it says that I am not connected with iTunes.
I don't know what to do anymore and I am getting frustrated to the point of changing phones to avoid this problem

No error messages are given. It will either freeze while saying "Accessing iTunes Store," or without saying anything at all.
I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

• Firefox crashes on startup and safe mode does not work. This is not the first time this has occurred and I usually have to reinstall to correct it.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back soon.

• Where did my podcasts go after update?  Just get black screen

Wow!  Update *****!

Hello jasonmaclennan
You would need to revert to a previous iTunes library file to get it back, the article below to get your media back into iTunes.
No content shows up in iTunes after updating

• Context sensitive menus stop working in Birt Actuate after last upgrade.. cleared cache, upgraded all addons, finally reinstalled, works in chrome and ie

was also working in firefox before last upgrade

Could you also try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Safe mode does not automatically disable plugins. If you want to rule those out as well, you can disable them here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
Any difference?
By the way, is there a public demo site for this tool that exhibits the same problem?

• I have some error with my iphone 5 in black screen nothing shown

i have some error with my iphone 5 in black screen nothing shown nothing do no restart and when i have restore my iphone it say error 4014????????????

is this the original iPhone 5, or 5s? If it's the 5s do you have Apple Care still? If so calling Apple iPhone support is where to start, hopefully they can help, if not, setting up an appointment at the Genius Bar at an apple retail store is a good option too, Call the store first though and ask what your options are in terms of warranty and service. If you are having problems with the regular iPhone 5, still call Apple Care or an Apple store and see what they can do.
good luck!
