Videos in email are opened as text

Every video that is emailed to me is being opened as text...a bunch of garble. How do I get this machine to open these as videos so I can watch them?

Looks like that when emails are opened they cannot be moved to another desktop and does not allow me to open another email.
Is this a new behavior, is there any settings change this or do I have a problem on my system?

I did not notice that I was in full scree mode. Yes that the issue, out of full screen it works like before.

i think it shoud be open with a passcode .....
2- pls add an apple folder with pass code lock -in which user can hide some of apps not to be seen by others .... OR
apps like whatsapp , wechat , viber, line should have in built passcode system no one can access the chats /massages other then the user ...

You can passcode lock the entire phone. 3rd party app developers can build passcode locks into their apps if they like.

I want to open my email using firefox, but since installing Google Chrome, all email links are opened with it, and I don't have access to my firefox tool bars to email a page, etc.

All email are opened by Google Chrome since I installed it. I want to use Firefox with its toolbars for emailing pages, etc., and there seems to be no easy way to email a page using Chrome.
I tried uninstalling Chrome, but then could not open any email.

With "Download Headers" option checked, opening plain text emails results in cropped body text

When I open raw plain text emails (i.e. not formatted as HTML) I only see the first
255 characters of the email body; all of the remainder is chopped off, and never appears no matter how many times I re-open the email.
I have narrowed this down to my somewhat unusual download preferences in Outlook. They are configured as follows:
Send/Receive -> Download Preferences -> Download Headers (checked).
I know the email text is there in full, because when I point my web browser at OWA, I can see the full body.
If at first I choose Mark to Download and then Process Marked Headers, I can then open the plain text email and see the body in full.
When I open HTML emails I have no problems, regardless of whether the email download was forced or not.
This issue existed on my old Office 2010 installation for XP too. It persists now I have upgraded to Office 2013 on Win 7.
This is not an acknowledged issue yet within the Outlook team (in fact, a possibly related issue was
reported by someone else 3 months ago but suggested to be a font corruption issue, which is incorrect).
It seems like Outlook just forgets to download the full text for plain text emails when opening them. It's repeatable every time, so it doesn't seem like a race condition. (To reproduce: set your Inbox download preferences as above, then send
yourself a plain text email, wait for the Inbox headers to finish refreshing and then open the new email).
We use a 3rd party provider (Cobweb) for our email service and I believe they are using Exchange 2013.
We use ESET Smart Security Suite and I have tried disabling the scanner for that but see no change in the outcome. I would appreciate if anyone without ESET could try to reproduce these steps for themselves and confirm.
Starting Outlook in Safe Mode does not solve it.

My plain text font is set up as the default, Automatic.
In any case, I can see the first 255 characters of the plain text body, so plain text font colour can be eliminated as a potential problem.
After the 255th character, the body text then stops. There are no "hidden characters". If I shrink the window height to accommodate just what I see, the vertical scrollbar does not appear. This confirms that there are no hidden lines of text
below.
The mail is simply not downloaded from the server correctly. If I drag the mail onto my desktop, then view that file in Programmer's Notepad, I can see that after the position representing the 255th character in the body of the email, there is garbage (control
characters).
If, instead, I first mark the email for downloaded and then click the "process marked headers", wait for it to download and then drag it onto my desktop, by contrast, the body contents look complete and this is reflected in the fact that I can
see the whole email when I open it in Outlook.
This problem has so far affected me on four different PC setups (1xWinXP, 3xWin7) and two versions of Outlook (2010 and 2013). However, Cobweb -- our cloud email provider -- did recently upgrade to Exchange 2013, so that might be an important factor.
I don't think I can remember seeing these plain text issues in the 10 years previous to that upgrade during which I've been using various flavours of Outlook.
I have supplied repro steps in the original report above. Could someone please try these? I have expanded them in full below for simplicity:
To reproduce:
1. Change your download preferences in Outlook. They are configured from the ribbon bar as follows (assuming you are using Outlook in Cached Exchange mode, connecting to Exchange 2013):
Send/Receive -> Download Preferences -> Download Headers (checked).
2. Send yourself a plain text email containing more than 300 characters of text.
3. Wait for the Inbox headers to finish refreshing.
4. Open the new email.
Result: The email body will be truncated at the 255th character.
Expected: The email body should show all the characters.

Emails are not readable - strange text

Hi All
suddenly I can't read some of my incoming emails. The body text is in a nonsense script. If the sender has a signature, that is readable. How can I set Mail to read these? Is it RTF? HTML text?

After upgrading to Tiger I've been fighting the same problem: some MSWord docs attached open okay (these are the ones that are ID'ed as MSWord when you hold the pointer over them, but others, ostensibly MSWord documents, too, open up with lots of junk and almost no readable text and these are identified as "Mime-type: application/octet-stream"
So I'm thinking that something is happening with the OS X and/or Mail upgrade that is causing this problem.
In the past this never happend.
BTW a "fix" of sorts is to use a webmail application and download the offending documents from there. Once downloaded they'll open just fine.
I think Apple needs to explain this and give us users a fix.

All text in all email are blank, can't view attachments.

After last osx update 10.5.6 I noticed a problem with my email. I have 2 email accounts in mail 3.5 The 1st works fine, the 2nd account lost all text in all email in in-box. Also all attachments are blank. I've tried forwarding the email to another account and also printing email but all the text looks as if it has been deleted. I've tried the font color and encoding but no luck. What would cause 20 emails to delete all the message text and blank out the attachments in only one email account?

update - I did a rebuild mailbox and all email in that problem account diapered. I can only guess that the email got corrupted and the rebuild purge the problem records. They are not in the delete folder either. What would cause one email box to become corrupt?

HELP - text messages and emails are suddenly combined

I have done something to my phone. I cannot read text messages - says I have one and all my emails are going into where my text messages once were not in the email folder.
What have I done - how do I fix it?
I have tried to access my text messages in the view folder menu but none seem to be there in any of the folders.

Actually, it's not obvious & common sense would dictate that users' bookmarks would not be left stuck to random computers even once they've logged out of the account. No one wants that if it's a public work computer or if they're traveling & use an Internet cafe. As I am not the only one who has noticed this issue or had bookmarks disappear/be deleted, in addition, common sense would indicate it's not really a very good system. And carrying around a flashdrive to run Firefox off of it is a good solution? Really? Just curious why a useful feature such as being able to login & use your preferences & bookmarks & then logging out removes your preferences when you're gone hasn't been developed. Yahoo keeps my preferences when I logout (it's called My Yahoo!). Maybe a My Firefox or My Chrome solution could be developed.

Whenever, I have pages open or any other app I press the home button twice, and then I swipe to the right and obtain the menu that allows me to alter brightness or sound. At this point I press play and nothing works. However, once I go back to my youtube page, and press the play button then it works. If anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated. in finder do your username under places then library then application support then MobileSync then Backups
the shortest folder name should be the UDID
of course that assumes it ever made a backup...
if it made more than one there will be some -date-blah on the end...
