Videos (Not From iTunes Store)

I'm still new to iPod. I'd like to point that out right away...
Well, I tried to put some videos that I had saved on my computer into iTunes, but it didn't work. I pretty much only got my iPod to watch videos, but since they aren't working, it feels like a waste to me.
If anyone could give me some help on how to get my vids into iTunes, that would be great.
If you need any other information about my iPod/computer, just ask.

hello, ipod only accept mp4 or h264 format videos, you will need to have a 3rd party converter tool to help you to convert your own movie then you can put in itunes, see this detailed comparison chart and reviews of the top 5 selling ipod video converters

I have seen 3 potential solutions in this forum
    1) If you are using iTunes Match Store > Update iTunes Match
    2) Logging out of itunes store and logging in again

  • How is it possible to cancel (not suspend) a video download from iTunes Store (iPad under iOs 6)? (I do not have sufficient storage space on my iPad)

    Hi,
I am facing the following difficulty with my iPad (model MD369NF/A) under iOs 6.1.3.
I have bought 2 videos on iTunes Store, but I do not succeed in downloading them: an error message mentions that iPas does not have enough storage capacity.
As a matter of face, when I look at the way the storage is used, I find “Others” for around 10 Go (is there some king of reserved space for the downloading of videos from iTunes Store?), and only a very small number of Mo available.
I would simply like to cancel the downloading of the 2 videos, and hope that it would free the "Others" storage space (in the hypothesis that "Others" is space reserved for videos once downloaded), but I do not manage to do it. I can suspend the downloading, but I do not see how to cancel it.
Would you have a solution to propose ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Nicolas

    Hey Nicolas36,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article outlines issues with free space, capacity, and a large amount of "other" space. You'll want to connect your iPad to your computer with iTunes to follow the steps:
iOS: 'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
One symptom of this issue will be displayed in iTunes where the Capacity indicator for the iOS device will report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the device. To resolve this issue:
    - Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    - Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    - Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Import of video not from itunes

I would like to know if and how I could save and see on my ipod any video that I can get not from itunes but from other sites or for instance from a cdrom.
I thank anyone who can give me some informations about my question.

The iPod will only accept videos in MP4 format, if your videos are anything else then you would need to find software to convert them.
There's information on videos here: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorial/ipgettingstartedt12.html

  • Older music/TV shows & videos purchased from iTunes store no longer work on PC (iTunes only)

    Hi,
I am having trouble with iTunes on my Win PC and would like some help.  It clearly appears to be a software or configuration issue.  Essentially all my older music videos and TV shows all purchase from the iTunes store (anything older than 2012) simply will not play with iTunes (but will play with all other Win apps).  Here are the details:
    1) Running new PC with Win 7 ultimate
    2) All media files in one location (iTunes folder) all new tunes and videos are stored there
    3) I am running iTunes v10
    4) Newly purchased music videos work - older ones (from 2011-2006) no longer play.  Same with newly purchased TV shows but not older ones.
    5) When file is selected in iTunes it simply does not play them (no crash, no sound, nothing) - itunes is still active and you can select other music, etc.
    6) Videos play in Win player and any other windows app applied to them (sourced directly from iTunes to Explorer)
    7) Problem did not exist in much earlier version of iTunes (or I would not have purchased them, duh)
    8) Problem existed in last few versions of iTunes
    9) Problem existing on last PC as well as this new one
    9) ALL videos STILL work fine on my ipad and ipods - nothing wrong with those files themselves
    10) I have searched online and tried:  control panel selections with Quicktime (3D video setting), uninstalling itunes several times, uninstalling quicktime, etc.
    11) All tests pass with iTunes diagnostic
Please help if you can!  Thanks.
    best, AHC99

By the way... ALL music files back to 2004 still play fine on iTunes on the PC...

  • Itunes sound stops working after 20 mins on videos bought from iTunes store.

On every video i've bought from the iTunes store the sound cuts out after approx 20 mins. I'm on windows 8.0 (completely up-to-date with all drivers up-to-date too) with the latest iTunes (11.1.3.8) and Quicktime (with enhancements switched off). PC is a quad core i7 with 16GB of memory with windows running on an SSD and my iTunes content on another internal HD (not an SSD). iTunes library is approx 24000 songs and 30 videos. i'm watching on a full HD monitor with external speakers and the PC is authorised to play iTunes content.
I've worked my way through all the iTunes support items around video chopping (which was happening too - now fixed) and audio issues but nothing helps e.g. I've switched off iTunes match and home sharing, switched off any audio enhancements in iTunes and my sound card (which is a Via chipset on my motherboard), switched the bit rate to 16 bit/44.1k on windows and itunes, uninstalled and re-installed iTunes etc, etc.
I did have an Apple TV on my network but I've disconnected it in case the sound was being routed to it after a period of time. This hasn't made any difference.
Has anyone had this issue and managed to fix it?
    Thanks

Myself as well, have been having this same problem, around 20 minutes into any movie I open up in my itunes library, the sound stops playing.   I have yet to find any fix for the problem, although I have a thought that it is probably something to do with the buffering.  My songs play just fine, all day long, but any movie only plays for 20 minutes and then the sound goes out.   Additionally, I had another issue that kept popping up an error message everytime I tried to open Itunes, this was finally fixed via copy paste a corruptted (spelling) .dll file.  The only "workaround" for this issue, that I have found, is to open the movie in QuickTime, even though I am not really excited about the QuickTime player.  If anyone finds a better solution, please drop a line. thank you in advance.

  • I purchased the itunes match. How do I download music that is not from itunes store?

I have been trying to download music from my PC to the cloud. iTunes Match picked up the music I purchased from the iTunes store but did not download any of the music from my PC library. How do I download that music?

    Hi,
I do not follow what you are trying to do. Firstly you don't download music from your PC to the cloud - you upload to the cloud!
Where is your music? Is it on your computers hard drive? Has iTunes Match scanned your iTunes library?

  • Two quite similar videos synced from iTunes store, one ok, other not

Hi all, my concern is regarding two synced videos from the iTunes University.
Programming paradigm (lect 1 for example): http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/itunes.stanford.edu.16173481 11.01617348114.1607366371?i=2093660149
    Programming methodology(lect 1 for example): http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Browse/itunes.stanford.edu.16153294 25.01615329428.1611703847?i=1348717488
The only differences between them are size bitrate and total bitrate.
    - Both are:
    MPEG-4 Video files (H.264)
    320x240
    - Programming paradigm (plays ok):
    Size: 53.4 MB
    Bit rate: 100 kbps
    Total bit rate: 424 kbps
    - Programming methodology (only audio plays, screen stays blank):
    Size: 160.2 MB
    Bit rate: 125 kbps
    Total bit rate: 446 kbps
    - Official iphone specs:
Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 768 Kbps, 320 by 240 pixels, 30 frames per second.
_If we see the official iphone specs, then both the videos are within the playable range. But for some reason, the paradigms video plays well, while methodology one only plays sound but no video (blank screen)._
Can anyone guide me on why this is happening? and how to fix it?

I had exactly the same problem. Would like to know if someone can solve it.
By the way, my iPod Touch could only play lecture 1 of the Programming Paradigm course. All the remaining lectures starting from lecture 2 have the same problem of only audio plays but no video.
They could be played correctly on iTunes though.

  • ITunes won't load video purchases from iTunes store to Video IPod

I'm getting some of the videos I purchased but not all of them, and there is certainly enough space on the iPod, I've gone through all off the steps even to creating a new user account and erasing the library, and poof still nothing, any suggestions?

Connect your iPod and allow iTunes to open (or open it manually). Highlight the iPod and select the tab for the video type - Music for music videos, Movies or *TV Shows.* Read all of the options carefully and determine which one applies to you.

  • Can't download videos purchased from ITunes store onto hard drive

My video Ipod already contains a number of videos. However three recently purchased videos will not download onto the computer. Each time download is attempted the following error message appears " There was a problem downloading. The disk you are attempting to use is full. Removing files and emptying the Recycle bin will free up additional space". We have repeatedly checked and deleted any old stuff on the hard drive - there is plenty of free space yet we can't get the videos onto the computer!!!!!

  • Can I download a free exercise video to my computer (not from Itunes)and then  to my ipod nano, and then show it on my tv, and if so how?

Can I download a free exercie video (not from Itunes) to my computer, then to my ipod nano, and then show it on my tv?

If you have a compatible video file, you can add it to your iTunes library by dragging it to the iTunes window, or by using the command
iTunes menu bar -> File -> Add to Library...
If the video is in a format that iTunes can play, it should be imported and appear as a new item in the iTunes Movies library.
It may not be playable on the nano directly, because of its format.  For example, if it's "HD," the resolution is too high for a nano's screen.  If it plays in iTunes, but not on the nano, you can use the command to covert it. Select the item in a list and then
iTunes menu bar -> File -> Create New Version -> Create iPod or iPhone Version
That version should play on an iPod nano.  NOTE:  Some videos downloaded from the iTunes Store cannot be converted to a lower resolution format, because they have DRM (copy protection).
