Videos not playing in preview

I'm running one of the new 2.4 imacs with 3gigs of ram.
Currently I have some mpeg4 videos in my imovie library that I am trying to edit, but everytime I place those videos into the timeline the little preview box on the top right gives the circular loading animation and stays there, and the video never shows up.
I had earlier video that worked just fine until recenty as well, and now pretty much all the video I put up there in the time line gives me the loading symbol. I can't think of anything I've added or done to cause the issue either.

Same problem here. I have a Mac Pro w/6GB RAM
I have three events. The first two are working just fine which I imported a few weeks ago. I can still view the video with no problem.
Today I imported a new event using the same video camera. Everything was working fine and I even exported a clip. Now I tried exporting another clip and all I get is a black video with audio playing using quicktime. This also happens in iMovie if I try to do any playback. Again this only happens with this event. The first two are still ok.
What is going on with iMovie... I'm getting really frustrated.

Embedded MP4 videos not playing in iOS Safari

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with embedded MP4 videos (e.g. YouTube videos) not playing correctly in Safari. When I try to play one, I get one of two problems:
1. On my (first gen) iPad, Safari usually crashes.
2. On my iPhone 4, videos will load but only play audio, not video, though when I tap on the screen the "play" and "pause" symbols appear.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Or know how to fix it?

Ok, I fixed it. Go to some embedded Flash video, click to run and then right click to get Global Settings for Flash. Go into Storage and make sure you aren't blocking any data from being stored on your computer. At the very least choose the "ask me" setting. (For good measure I also went into Advanced and clicked to Delete All Data associated with Flash. But when I restored Block for data storage the videos stopped working, so that seems to be the answer.) I'd be interested to hear if this works for others.

I took four video clips while on a trip this week. Two are oriented the right way (playing wide on the device and imported correctly). The other two are Tall and not oriented right. Orientation is 90 degrees to the right. I don't know why this is happening on occasions. Even some pictures I took did the same **** thing. It's weird. And I can't figure it out. The camera is held the way I want the pictures and videos to be recorded and played but something internal is turning these videos and pictures 90 degrees clockwise.

sharankumar1, which phone model do you use? Nokia phones are a bit picky about the file content, the codec. If you tell me your model, I tell you the available codecs. In the meantime, you have to convert your videos …

U310 Touch - Videos not playing after 8.1 Update

Hello,
I have updated from Windows 8 to 8.1 and updated all my drivers on my U310 Touch.
However, I seem to have a problem with web based videos not playing videos on the internet.
This seems to happen on every kind of web browser, including IE, Firefox, Chrome, and even Steam.
If anybody knows how to fix this problem, that'll be great.

Since the upgrade to 8.1.1 my iPhone 6 stopped recognising the fingers I had stored. I've deleted and addrd them again (which went as norma) and it still has problems recognising them. Seems very intermittent now, whereas before this upgrade was very reliable.
I've reverted to a pin code :-(

Captive 6 audio not playing in preview

I am having an issue with audio playing on some of the slides in preview mode, other slides the audio works fine. On the problem slides, I am able to play the audio on the slide or timeline but in preview mode it will not play.

Which Preview mode? If it's the "Play this slide" preview, perhaps you have managed to mute the audio?

You tube videos not playing on safari, my flash player is up to date, i tried to refresh, quit safari, again tried to play, but every time it shows "an error has occurred, please try again later". I did almost everything to make it work but its not working... help needed

Try deleting the cache and cookies for YouTube.

IMovie, some photos on timeline will not play in preview window

There are a bunch of photos on the timeline that will not play in preview window.
I've tried all the tricks that were suggested in other posts. (moving photo to the desktop and then reimporting, etc)
several hours have been lost on this problem.

I think it's a bug. It happens to me as well. You have to switch between windows, refreshing it.

DVDSP Help - Video not playing in Viewer during some assets, only audio...

Video not playing in Viewer during some assets, only audio until paused. once you hit the space bar or pause, the video shows up in viewer? same results when burnd to disc.
when dragging cursor through out timeline (track 1) video shows up in viewer fine too.
any advice on what could be wrong?
at first i was thinking this was a memory problem, i added another Gig of ram and the problem still exhists.

Hi Crazy Dan:
It's a kind of bug in DVDSP Simulator. If you build your project in your hard drive and test it with DVD Player all video will play fine.
I would like to tell you where exactly the problem is located, but it's just a Simulator problem.
Try building your project.

That may be a problem with the VLC plugin. VLC has never worked for me properly on the occasions that I've tried it on Windows and Linux, so I have stop using it. There are usually other plugins or media players available that work better.
What kind of media files are that?
For WMP files you can install the new Windows Media Player plugin you can also try RealPlayer and QuickTime if it is about media that those programs can handle to see if that works better.

Facebook videos not playing on iPad Air(safari browser)

Why do my Facebook videos not play in iPad Air(safari browser) but same video play nicely on iPhone 4(safari browser). It asks me to download flash player to play on iPad but plays fine on iPhone without giving any prompt to download flash player.

You should not have trouble playing using the FaceBook app.

I am not getting any error on consol, rather video is not displayed on media screen but black rectangle.

I am not getting any error and not running on the same side. My problem is showing video on Tranmitter end.
Using above code i can create player and a black screen is showing, i am ubable to find, why video is not played in screen.

Video does not play in preview window.

I have recently upgraded to CS4 from CS3.
In any part of CS4 that uses video; Encore, Premeire and After Effects, video will not play in the preview window from a timeline when the play button is pressed. The playhead doesn't move, but the Play button toggles from Pause to Play when pressed. However, when I scrub the video, I can see it in the window. Video played fine in CS3.
My graphics card is a PNY nVidia Quadro FX 570 with the 178.26 driver. My computer is a Dell Precision 670.
I recently completed a project where I had to trim about 48 QuickTime video files created in Premiere 2.0, compressed with Sorensen 3.
The files were then added to Encore, and a DVD was created. The DVD worked fine. At no time could I preview video, unless I opened the edited video in QuickTime.
This has also happened with still and AVIs.
At no time do any of the CS4 programs freeze or crash the system.
Has anyone had this happen to them. Is it a graphics card issue.... I can't seem to find any info on a similar problem.

Try turning off (or lowering) Hardware Acceleration for your graphics card.
At the Windows Desktop, Right Click and select "Properties". Under the "Settings" Tab, select "Advanced". Select the "Troubleshoot" Tab and reduce the Hardware Acceleration. You will need to restart you computer to see if it worked. First, try it with no Acceleration. If it works, try increasing the Hardwar Accelearation one notch at a time - rebooting your computer each time. \
