Videos not synching

I am unable to transfer videos, movies or tv shows to my ipod. I have manually selected videos to synch and itunes shows that it is updating to the ipod, but nothing ever happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi clandgraf!
Are you getting any error messages? If so, please list them, and when they occur.
First off, what kind of iPod do you have? If you've got a nano, or a 1/2/3/4th generation iPod, then this will not be able to occur; only Fifth Generation iPods (the iPod with Video) are compatible for transferring tv shows, movies, videos/music videos, video podcasts. To other iPod is compatible with transferring any movie-type file or a motion picture.
If you do have a Fifth Generation iPod, then have you tried assigning your iPod a different drive letter? Folow these steps below:
Log off of any other users on your computer.
1 - Don’t plug in your iPod yet.
2 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
3 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
4 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, reset your iPod, and connect it.
5 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).

  • Itunes 7 and Music Video not synching

I have just upgraded to Itunes 7.0 and automatically updated my ipod firmware to 1.2 as instructed. Two problems:
    1. Now all the music video's are in Itunes in a smart playlist called music video's and none appear on the ipod. On the Ipod there is a video category called Music Video's which is now empty. This category does not appear in itunes (Whilst the other two - Movies and TV shows do and synch fine).
    2. The playlists on my Itunes are synchronised to the ipod fine but music playlists with just music within them are put in the music area of playlists. Playlists containing just one video are moved to video playlists - very confusing! Needs an option to make a playlist contain just music or just video so that they separate correctly and synch correctly (my one with video only does not go to the ipod at all).

    Sorry Guys,
I've just found the answer to 1 above. You have to request selection of music video's at the bottom of the form for music synchwhen the ipod is docked. (I did not notice this option before and why it was now turned off I do not know). I think I may have a way around item 2 as well as video's were not synching. I guess one needs to sort out whatis in what playlist by eliminating videos from music ones and vice versa.

  • Videos not synched with iPad4, but iPhone5

I imported some videos to my iTunes Database. These videos were synched to my iPhone5 in 1080i and less and well displayed on iPhone5 and iTunes. But these videos will not be synched with iPad4. I tryed to enable, disable the synch Settings, making special selection lists for my iPad, but nothing works. These videos will be shown in iTunes onto my iPad, but only grey as You can see onto the picture.
    - What can I do to synch these 4 videos to my iPad4. (40GB free space left, an trying to synch videos from 46MB to 1.31GB)
    Best Regards
    Rene

Hey Dombarron, not 100% sure about this but the way I understood it is that videos will sync to iCloud Photo Library (which is different from iCloud Photostream). The difference is that the Photostream uses iCloud as a temporary buffer to sync your photos across all devices, while iCloud Photo Library is intended a permanent store to put your albums in the cloud.  iCloud Photo Library was pulled from iOS 8 after the last beta, probably due to stability issues.  It is expected to be released either together with OS X Yosemite (expected Oct 21) or together with the fully revamped OS X Photos app (early 2015).
So yes, the frustrating manual sync of videos is almost behind us, but not quite yet.

  • Audio and Video not synching after export

I've uploaded DV from my camera into iMovie. In iMovie, audio and video are synching perfectly, but when I export to Quicktime they are off by about a second (or two). I've tried several different "expert settings," but still no dice. I've not had this problem occur before, so I'm confused. Anyone?

Make sure none of your clips are using custom slow motion percentages. Only use what the slow motion slider snaps to. I had the same problem and once I changed my percentages to what iMovie wanted everything exported correctly.

  • ITunes Audio/Video Not Synched

Why do movies play great in Quicktime player but the audio and video are out of synch when played in iTunes?
Here's how i get around the problem...
Watch all movies using Quicktime player.
Can't watch rented movies with the Quicktime player, so I use another service to rent movies.
sadly this problem is over a year old. the last update once again didn't address the issue.

Looks like your computer is under spec if you're using the latest iTunes (7.0.2) - if you're not post back with which version you are using and see if anyone else knows what to try next.
    Additional Video Requirements
Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
1 GHz G4 processor or better
    QuickTime 7.1.3 or later
    16MB video RAM

  • TS4062 why are my music videos not synching to my ipad from itunes?  only songs are synching

I can get my itunes songs to synch to my ipad but not my music videos.  what am i doing wrong?

    Hey there 2Chainz,
It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • New iPod Video not Synching after initial Synch

Here is the history. My old iPod 20GB died last week and it was going to cost $271 to repair it. It was cheaper to buy a new 5.5 30GB Video iPod, so I did. I love it, but I have one small problem. After I connect the ipod to the computer, iTunes recognizes it and synchs all the appropriate files and settings. When the synching is completed, however, and the iPod goes back to the battery charging screen or menu, iTunes will no longer synch with the iPod. Sometimes I get an error and sometimes I don't. One of the settings I was trying to change was to only synch checked items. I would click the checkbox, and then click apply. iTunes would say it was synching please do not disconnect, but the iPod did not react at all.
I have called apple support 3 times, and the first guy said it is a harware issue and they are sending me a new one (it is going to take 6 days :P). The next two guys did not have a clue as to what the problem was.
I have restored the iPod twice. I have reinstalled Quicktime and iTunes 7.1. The iPod has version 1.2.1 on it, which is the latest.
I don't see how this could be a "hardware" issue. The iPod plays videos and music just fine. And it synch just fine in the initial connection to the computer.
Does anyone out there have any saged wisdom with regard to this issue? I really don't want to wait 6 days for a new ipod just to find out I still have the same issue.
    Thanks,
    Chris

The Widows Media Player is junk and people often complain about DVD playback issues here.
    It's a player issue.
I know there are better Windows DVD players - someone here will suggest one (I don't do windows).

  • Some videos not synching

I am trying to figure this one out. I have an entire season of a show on itunes and have it synched. However, one episode will not sync. I can watch it on itunes or quicktime, but not my ipod. All other episodes sync fine and this one is no different.
I also have an episode of The Office which will not sync.
All software is up to date.
    Any ideas?
    Randy

    Nope.

  • Audio/Video not synched

Would someone please help me. For some reason, my audio and video are not synchronizing when I capture. Nothing has changed on my video camera as far as audio settings. I've used the exact setup previously with no problems. I trashed my plists and that wasn't helpful.
I'd be grateful for any other suggestion that might solve this issue.

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Select your clip in browser and use the contextual menu to get item settings. You fing the audio bit depth here.
Be sure that your camera audio setting is set to 16 bit 48 kHz AND matches the sequence audio settings in FCE.

  • Audio and video not synched up....

Hello everyone. I am having a problem with my i-movie and was wondering if anyone here might know what I need to do to solve it.
The problem is that the audio and video are not synchronized when I capture a movie.
    Any suggestions?

Hello and thanks for your help. May I pursue this with you further? I think I figured out how to separate the audio and video, by using the imovie help. What i have now is a green bar that appears all along the bottom of the video frames.
I'm having one problem. When i move the audio, and then play back the track, both the new audio position and the old one play, so I get this echo effect. Do you know how I save it without the old position?
Also one other problem I'm having is that when I record video, for some reason whole chunks of the recording are missing. I don't know what is causing this....

  • Audio and Video not synched on import

I am trying to import a video shot on a Canon XH-A1 in HDV. WHen I import it into IMovie in HDV it previews at 1/2-real time and the audio is off by 2-4 seconds. When I import it in DV it imports correctly with the sound being synched however I lose the definintion of HDV.... Can anyone help me, is this a Canon issue or an IMovie issue???? Thanks in advance..

    Welcome to discussions, Prescottphotog
Have you tried importing the HDV to imovie, then saving, closing and relaunching imovie? It may be that the audio will be in sync once iMovie has had time to cache it properly.
That's a lot of information for it to take in.

  • Itunes u videos not synching to retina ipad

    Hi All,
I recently downloaded a course on iTunes U and when I sync all of the lectures to my Retina iPad Mini, none of the videos or course materials appear in the iTunes U app. However, the videos show as synched from within iTunes.
Any suggestion as to what I can do?
    Thank you kindly.

... there is no iTunes U icon under devices
did you make sure that "sync from iTunes U" is selected in the iTunesU pane when your ipod is connected?
After you select this option and items to sync, iTunes U should also be visible as part of your ipod folders under ipod in your device list.

  • Ipod Classic (80g) Videos not synching properly!

Ok so my ipod works great except when you try and have videos on it. I have all the converters and stuff and sometimes it works fine and they go on and are all there. However... Sometimes the videos cut off after a minute or so when i play them on my ipod. I thought it might be a converter issue but they play all way trough in itunes, so it's something to do wiht the synch process I'm guessing.
    any ideas?

This is how to sync videos
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304680
This is to make sure all of the video types are working on your ipod.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75424
Download each one of those videos and try to use the top article to sync them to your ipod.
If all of the videos work... its probably a problem with your converter.
make sure you are updating your ipod. Apple just released a new software version for classics when itunes 7.6 came out.
Also, restoring your ipod to factory settings by hitting that restore button in your summary screen may help wash out any glitches your ipod may have on it if the above info doesnt help you.

  • ITunes Store video not synching

I recently purchased an 8 part video series fron iTunes. I've updated my iPod but only parts 7 and 8 are on the iPod although all 8 are shown in iTunes. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip. I just checked it though and it shows "all." Hmmm. However, each time I update it, it adds another episode, so I think I just have to update it a few more times to get them all *shakes head in wonderment*

  • Audio and video not synched in FCE

How did this happen, and what do I do?

    More details please.
Is audio out of sync in the Browser? The Viewer? Timeline?
Probably what is happening is that your Sequence audio settings don't match your camera settings. In other words, if you recorded your audio at 12Bit 32 K your Sequence has to match that; you probably had an Easy Setup of 48 K which is 16 Bit.
This is all assuming we talking about DV material captured as such. If you are importing video some other way, like from iMovie captures or some other non DV/HDV format, we need to know
