Videos on Apple's Website

Guys,
Whenever I try to watch any of Apple's video presentations on the Apple website I get a dialog box that says:
"The file you are trying to play has failed to finish dowloading and can no longer play."
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I believe I found the answer: the videos do play in Safari, but not in Atomic Lite browser which is what I've been using.....

Why I can't watch any video on Apple official website?

Why I can't watch any video on Apple official website? Everytime I open it it's only a blank frame. I have already downloaded QuickTime several times, it's a windows8.1 PC.

I am new to Ubuntu, but I see videos ok. Firefox may play some natively but I also have FlashPlayer installed. IIRC FlashPlayer is not on the original Ubuntu 11.10 CD but has to be installed as a separate Firefox plugin. From your system information aside it appears you do already have FlashPlayer installed.
* Have you got FlashPlayer enabled currently ?
* I Note you have [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivX Div X] installed, which is not something I know about, but could that be interfering with some videos, have you tried disabling Div X.

I only have audio for the videos on apple's website using Safari?

I can only hear the audio on apple's website to their videos. I have the newest quicktime update and I'm not sure why it won't play. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Try another browser. If that works, then you'll know for sure it's a Safari issue.

There are some Safari Extensions that prevent the Apple tutorials from streaming. And since you can view the video in Chrome and Firefox, that just might be it.
From your Safari menu bar at the top of your screen click Safari. From the drop down menu click Preferences.
Select the Extensions tab.
If you have any installed, turn that OFF.
Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try one of the Apple vidoes.

After iOS 4.3 videos on Apple's website get choppy

Hi all,
just thought this morning I'd watch the tutorial videos about the iPad 2 on my iPad 1 with iOS 4.3, but then the nightmare started:
the audio was running but the video picture was lagging behind or just a still frame or a choppy pixeled pink frame.
I hope that this has nothing to do with the update to 4.3 on my iPad.
Anyone experienced the same or similar?

So, I checked the videos this evening and, well, they play all just fine and they are great to watch. Maybe an iPad 2 is coming in the near future.

I can't load the videos from apple's very own website. the error message that came up was 'the file you are trying to play has failed to finish downloading and can no longer play' (DivX Plus Web Player).
I do not face this problem from other sites.

It looks like you have added a 3rd party video app that is interferring with QuickTime, which should be the internet plug-in that is used to play videos on Apple's website.
I would get rid of any extra things like DivX Plus Web Player and install Perian and Flip4Mac, maybe Silverlight. Those are just about the only extra things you need to augment QuickTime.

What happed to the iPad video tutorials on Apple's website?

I can't locate any of the extensive video tutorials on iPad (or for much else for that matter) on Apple's website - did they remove them or put them in some incredibly secret place? They used to have them for most all of their products -- now it seems they are only available for software products.

Quicktime Video for my website like it's on Apple's website

How do I manage to get a Quicktime video on my website with the following features?
The video should play without the old grey Quicktime window frame!
The controlbar should disappear, when the cursor is not in the video window.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.

I can't open videos from apple website, it asks me to download quick time which is built in my macbook, then it asks me to update software, when i tried to do so, i got a message that everything is up to date?

UPDATE - we went to the nearest Apple Store today, and played with 6 different MacBook Airs, and found this problem on FOUR of them. They couldn't play the videos on the Apple website. This stumped the sales staff until one of them went into Safari's File menu, selected "Reset Safari", then re-booted ... and it worked!
Came home, did the same thing ... it worked.
So now my question is: why does "Reset Safari" clear this up?

Usually, that's due to a DivX plug-in or Safari extension... start with Safari - Preferences - Extensions & switch them off. If nothing there, see Safari - Help - Installed Plug-ins & note any that are for DivX.
