Videos on ipod with no sound.

okay, so the deal is that i had some videos on my computer but they where on windows media player format, so when i wanted to put them on my ipod itunes converted it so that it would be able to be played on my ipod but what happened is that it did transfer it to my ipod but with no sound. anyone who knows how to fix that?

Try using this application to convert the videos, or the instructions in this article.

Actually for Windows I recommend Videora iPod Converter. It's easy to use and frequently updated. Give it a try: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

  • Home videos transfer to ipod with no sound

so i have a video camcorder and i made some home videos and they wouldn't copy to my ipod. so i went to my toolbar and it said convert selection for ipod or something along the lines of that and so i clicked that and a new window popped up under my devices section of my itunes tabs where the cds show up when i'm importing and it took about 2 minutes to convert. so i resynced my ipod and the video went on and so i went to watch it because i always double check these things to be sure and there's no sound to accompany the video. i guess it's not that big of a deal but it would be nice if i could find out what the problem is

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, iTunes & the iPod (both of which use QuickTime) only show the video and no sound.

One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

  • Is it permissible to upload a video on youtube with music, sounds effects, and video effects from imovie?

Lately, I've been editing and making videos for a local church in Mexico. I am not selling any of the videos. The are free to watch. However, is it permissible to upload a video with music, sound effects, and video effects from imovie? I using imovie version 10.0.2

This question comes up from time to time.
There are a number of con-men who think that they can earn a quick buck from claiming that they own the copyright to Apple’s royalty-free jingles and sound effects included with the iLife applications. These are all free to use, as clearly stated in section 2.C of the iLife Software License Agreement:
“You may use the Apple and third party audio content (“Audio Content”) contained in or otherwise included with the Apple software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio content may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound files, sound effects or music beds.”

  • Converted videos to iPod format--NO SOUND???

Hi, I just used iTunes to convert three Quick Time videos of mine to work with my iPod. One of them wouldn't convert because it "does not allow for saving or conversion". The other two came out as MPEG-4 files and when played they had no sound. They transfered to the iPod, but didn't have any sound there either. What can I do to preserve the sound when I convert them?
    Thanks for your help.

we had better check to see if it's all videos that aren't converting with sound (when you do the conversion), or just the specific ones you've been converting. this document should be of some help with that:

  • Can transfer videos to iPod via Videora: SOUND but no MOVIE!!!

I have been able to transfer videos (after they were converted using Videora iPod Converter) to iTunes and then to the iPod. But when I go to play it, I hear the sound but I don't see the movie. I have the tv out feature set to OFF as well. Can anyone help me? Anyone who solves this has just about solved the video problem for hundreds of others as well!!! Please help.

Hmmm that is weird. Have you gone into your Ipod options and made sure under video, that you DO NOT have "do not update videos" selected. If that is not the problem then try this.
Make a new playlist to hold your videos in your Ipod. Then under "videos" in your Ipod options select "Automatically update selected playlist only", and then select the playlist that you created to hold your videos and click "ok". After you do that put the videos into your library, then from your library click and drag the videos into the playlist you created to hold your Ipod. Then update your Ipod and you should have them on their.

  • Youtube/Flash videos play but with no sound

I have gone through other posts both here and elsewhere trying to fix this issue.
It happened, so far as I can tell, after the most recent set of updates that I installed (less than a week ago; my computer is set to update every month). Youtube and any other Flash videos online will play the video, but the sound option has a red x on it and does not allow me to have any sound with the videos. This occurs both in Safari and Firefox.
Videos played through Quicktime (even .flv files downloaded from Youtube) play just fine, without any problems at all.
I have changed the Audio Midi settings, uninstalled/reinstalled Flash player (and repaired disk permissions), reset PRAM, opened up Garageband/Quicktime/All other audio programs, and to no avail.
I am running 10.6.6 on an iMac G5. My other iMac G5, which had the same set of updates installed, does not have this issue, which makes it even more baffling.
I am almost to the point of backing up the computer's contents and doing a clean install of the system, but that seems like an overkill solution.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

  • Putting Home Video On Ipod with Video...

How do you put your own video onto your ipod? I keep trying but just can't figure it out! Help!

You need to use a converter to convert the home video from its current format to the format recognized by the 5G Video. I currently use Videora iPod Converter and it works perfectly fine for me. Use Google to find the location of this. Once done, you add file to library and goto Videora's Video folder and select your home video. You can now drag it to your iPod. Remember that the iPod uses mp4 (mpeg4) as its recognized video format.

  • Want to output video for iPod - with subtitles set in DVDSP

Ok, now that the DVD is done, I would like to make some downloadable tracks that would be optimized for iPod (640x480). I can easily export the tracks from Final Cut Pro using compressor, but then I don't get the subtitles.
Is there a clever way to
    - get the subtitles I have in the DVDSP project back to Final Cut OR
    - import the .STL files into Final Cut OR
    - export to iPod from DVDSP with only one of three subtitle streams?

There is now a new discussion on this same subject here on the DVDSP forum (dvdsp3 subtitles -> .mov/.mp4), and so far, the only solution seems to be ripping the DVD with Handbrake.
It's a shame there's neither an easy subtitling solution in Final Cut nor an export option in DVDSP.

  • Playing video on ipod(and yes i did search for this)

Okay well i converted my video files to MP4 format and most of em go on to itunes fine then when i put them on my ipod(it is an ipod video) i go to videos and play them and the sound is messed up. Like you can hear it then not and goes on and off the whole video. I have checked and the settings match the settings that the ipod can do. So just seeing if any one can fix this problem cause it sorta dystroys the purpose of the movies.
btw i am using this program called PQ DVD. Its a good program for converting videos but i dont know if its affecting the sound at all. I think its the i pod because all the videos are working with full sound on itunes.
I guess ill just try to redo the movies if anyone can help please do.
    thanks

The ability of ITunes to play your file and your IPOD playing them are totally different. One uses software and the other hardware to play the file. Your answer to your problem will be on PQ DVD 's web site, not this one. Just because the setting say they are correct does not mean that the file it produces is correct. A lot can go wrong during the encoding phase. Check the completed file. Does it meet specs for MPEG4? Purchase a video from ITUNes and see if that plays okay. That will tell you for sure if your IPOD is messed up or not.

  • Quicktime video on IPod

    Hello all,
When I try to open a QuickTime video on IPod with Safari, I see a "desactivate feature logo".
With all other browsers on PC and MAC (IE, Chrone, Firefox), I can watch the QuickTime video.
The problem is only on IPod.
    Is there a solution ?
    Thank in advance.

    Thank Allan for your response.
    In fact, I've read your topic about Using the HTML5 <audio> and <video> Tags -> http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/QuickTime/Conceptual/QTScr iptingHTML/QTScripting_HTMLDocument/ScriptingHTML.html.
We can read "Make sure your audio and video use only broadly supported media and codecs so they will play properly in all browsers, whether or not QuickTime is used. Currently this means video media using the H.264 codec and audio media using the AAC/HE-AAC codec. Do not include sprites, VR, or other media."
    And about container ?
With .MOV container and H.264 Codec, it doesn't work.
With M4V container and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Codec, it works.
Is it normal than .MOV container doesn't work on Iphone ? M4V container is the only format compatible with Iphone/Ipad ?
