Videos on my iTunes aren't showing up on my iPod

Videos that are on my iTunes that I can watch on my computer aren't showing up on my iPod when I try to synch them on. I have the new 80G iPod classic.

I'm having the same problem. It's from the Vintage Video podcast. I can only get 4 of the videos on the Ipod. I'm hoping someone has some ideas about this.
Thanks for any help.

  • I got a new iPod nano 7th gen., but when I tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Some of the videos in your iTunes library cannot be copied to your iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod.

    I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?

    I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

  • My TV Shows aren't showing up in my Ipod

    In my Ipod, at the Video's, there should be something called TV Shows as you know. Mine isn't there, it never has been. O_o I don't get it. I just bought a season of my faveorite show, and it isn't there, can you help me?

    Do you see anything across the top of that page that says Summary? It would be above the first of those three portions the page is divided into.
    Under those Options at the bottom, is there a checkmark beside Manually Manage Music & Videos? (Since you said that in the past the iPod automatically syncs when you plug it in, I'm guessing this is not checked and I suggest that you NOT have it checked.)
    Is there a checkmark beside Only Sync Checked Items? If so, is there a checkmark on the box next to your TV Shows in your iTunes Library?

  • How to get video file and iTunes Extra to show as one file in iTunes?

    When I purchase a movie in iTunes with iTunes Extras, after the download is finished in the "Movies" and "Genres" view they appear as one file. You click on the cover, it opens, shows the "Play iTunes Extra" button as well as a small Play arrow button next to the title to play the movie directly. Only in "List" view do they appear as separate files.
    How can I achieve that for my own iTunes extra? I tried giving the .ite the same XID as the movie file but that didn't work, they continue to appear as separate files in iTunes and the little play button when expanding the iTunes Extra doesn't work obviously. Anyone can tell me how this is done?

    Ok, I finally figured it out... there is 2 files that play a critical role in this
    first is manifest.xml
    in this file ensure that the library_item type string references the xid for your video file, and it has to be a proper xid. The iAd Producer manual explains how to create one if it does
    example:
    <library_item type="video" local_id="feature" xid="TEST:uuid:C7AE7CED-3F60-4C08-AA01-E3F9647B95CC" name="Your Movie"/>
    second file and even more critical is iTunesMetadata.plist. There is a couple of strings in there that lace the iTunes Extra to the film and vice versa
    <key>itemId</key>
    <integer>987654321</integer>
    <key>itemName</key>
    <string>Your Movie - iTunes Extras</string>
    The first is a unique 9 digit number that identifies your iTunes Extra file, the second is the name of the file that should follow the convention "Your Movie Title - iTunes Extras"
    <key>playlistId</key>
    <integer>123456789</integer>
    <key>playlistName</key>
    <string>Your Movie</string>
    This is what ties it back to the movie file, we will come back to it later where in the movie MetaData you need to place this 9 digit string
    <key>xid</key>
    <string>TEST:uuid:C7AE7CED-3F60-4C08-AA01-E3F9647B95CC_ITUNES_EXTRAS</string>
    This is the convention in how to properly xid your iTunes Extra, it is your movie's XID with "_ITUNES_EXTRAS" added to the end of it
    <key>Name File</key>
    <string>Your Movie - iTunes Extras.ite</string>
    <key>associated-adam-ids</key>
    <array>
    <integer>123456789</integer>
    The first is self explanatory but the second is again this 9 digit number that you will need to place into the meta data of your movie. It is what will make iTunes lace the two files together
    <key>xid-asset-mapping</key>
    <dict>
    <key>TEST:uuid:C7AE7CED-3F60-4C08-AA01-E3F9647B95CC</key>
    <array>
    <integer>123456789</integer>
    </array>
    <key>TEST:uuid:C7AE7CED-3F60-4C08-AA01-E3F9647B95CC_ITUNES_EXTRAS</key>
    <array>
    <integer>987654321</integer>
    </array>
    </dict>
    This is the last critical piece, it laces the two files tigthly together. Now the 9 digit number counting down from 9 is part of the unique ID of the iTunes Extra, the 9 digit number counting up from 1 needs to be put into the metadata of your movie. The annotation type for this is "contentID".
    That's pretty much it. If you did it right your files will now appear as one file in cover view just like a movie bought in the store.
    The easiest to do this right is to grab the manifest.xml and iTunesMetadata.plist from an iTunes store movie and copy paste and edit it for your purposes, which is what I did.
    Cheers everyone!

  • Movies in itunes aren't showing up

    I would like to buy a Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie from itunes. I know it should be there but when I search for it it isn't there. It is a popular movie and came out recently. Is there any reason it shouldn't be in the itunes store?

    Content is only available in the iTunes Store with the copyright holder's permission.

  • How can the album-art, which is all in iTunes , suddenly only shows partially on the iPod classic 160 gb?

    I'm user of iTunes for years and in possession of 2 iPod classics.
    For both iPods I have a specific playlist created, which I sync with iTunes. Each of my nearly 50,000 tracks in iTunes comes with the right Album-art (all 500 x 500 pixels and 72 dpi) andeach track contains also the necessary meta data and is converted to 160 or 192 kbps  M4a. In Finder on my MacBook I can see that the M4a files all contain album-art, because the file icons show the album art for each file name! Also in the grid overview of iTunes you can see them all, no exception.
    For years that went well. Now,  a week ago, I made a new playlist (16,000 tracks) for one of my iPod classics because I wanted a different content! The old playlist I discarded and synchronized the new one.  Now it appears that a large number of album-art on the iPod is not shown, nor in cover-flow nor during play-back. I then tried to get my new playlist updated by exported as XML and then imported into iTunes again. In that case all tracks from the list are checked for completeness against the library and after import it should be fine. Unfortunately, it is not the case. Still the album-art is not shown for all tracks/albums on the iPod.
    I run iTunes (11.2.2 (3)) on a MacBook Pro at the end of 2009, with the latest OSX version (10.9.3) and with enough disk space and memory.
    My iTunes library is on a NAS (Synodisk DS209J II plus) the iPods run on the latest sw version (1.1.2) and are both Apple formatted.
    I wonder if this is an iPod error or something wrong with the library. I hope you will understand, that I do not want to lose all the metadata of the 50,000 tracks by rebuilding the library, especially things like: date added, number of times played, rating, comments!
    I hope someone can provide me an acceptable solution.
    With regards, Sign-X

    I'm a bit confused, but I assume you want to shuffle your playlist while you are playing it in iTunes. If this is so, you will actually have to start playing a song before the shuffle button appears, and it appears in the top center panel of your iTunes window. Yeah, I know...

  • Artists of Songs in My iTunes Do Not Show Up On My iPod

    Is this a common problem and how is it corrected?

    There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
    If tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances (for instance I read somewhere that if you have at least two tracks with different album names the rest will appear), however the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous to all the blanks in place of a title. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod
    Also if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Setting "Compilations" on your iPod main menu prevents you getting lots of single artist entries when you load an album by various artists.

  • ITunes no longer shows podcasts played from iPod

    It's just recently that I can no longer see which of the podcasts that I've already listened to on either of my two shuffles (2nd and 3rd gen). Also I used to be able to delete a "listened to" podcast in iTunes and it would automatically delete it from the iPod listing as well. Now I have to glance back and forth between iPod and iTune to determine which and been hear and which have been deleted. Previous ability to see "listened to" podcast from an iPod was much more user friendly than current version.

    Just found out. You select the podcast page on your iPhone 4. You drag your finger, from right to left, over the screen, just like you do to delete e-mails. The delete option will present itself. Touch the delete button and confirm. The podcast will be deleted.

  • ITunes won't show info on the iPod menu.

    All the buttons, pulldowns, playlists, and menus are blank. The iPod will sync, but I cannot see any of the options to adjust how it syncs.  I beleive it is a 3rd Gen Nano.

    I have since uninstalled iTunes, deleted every Apple program from my computer and reinstalled iTunes.  I am still not seeing the words on the screen.
    Could this be from having a 3rd gen iPod with the newest iTunes software.

  • The album artwork that is in the right order on itunes isn't showing up on my ipod, and when it does it's not with the right album.

    When i look at the itunes thing it doesn't even mention anything about album artwork... ( i am putting this in the itunes section also)

  • Songs aren't showing up in iPod but are on iTunes

    Certain songs aren't showing up on my iPod, but I see them in the iPod music list on iTunes. They show up in the library. They are also in the iPod when it is open in iTunes. But they dissapear when I disconnect the iPod from the computer. Any suggestions would be great!

    This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.

  • Can't get video podcast to show up on my iPod

    I've downloaded tv programs, even compressed some of my own video work and put it on my iPod....but for some reason, the 3 video podcasts I downloaded don't show up after my iPod updates. I searched in the music section as well as the video section under "podcasts," but nothing is there. Any suggestions? Any way to drag and drop the file onto iPod?

    Any suggestions?
    Would suggest you check the format of the podcast. I downloaded one last week and found Sorenson video and QDesign audio tracks. If it is in what appears to be the correct format and parameter settings, then try converting it yourself and see it it syncs.
    If the converted file syncs, then I would conclude that the author's workflow may not have included adequate "field testing." (Likely relying on past successes with a particular application and/or settings.) This happened to me this week when I downloaded an Apple product/technique tutorial. (Strangely enough, the only one in the series I had tourble with delt with podcasting.) If the files still refuses to sync, then I would suggest you recheck your iTunes preference settings
    Any way to drag and drop the file onto iPod?
    "Drag 'n Drop" is, i believe, a manual management function. However, I doubt it would bypass the iTunes files scan to check on whether or not the file is iPod compatible. (I assume you aren't talking about simple data storage here.) On the other hand, at least one individual has claimed to have "hacked" his way into the loading of video data rate restricted files. Unfortunately, I am not interested in wasting space in order to put "DVD quality" files on an iPod. (If I want DVD quality, I'll watch the DVD.)
