Videos on youtube and vimeo are flickering and shaky in firefox. But they are playing well in chrome. Also reinstalled firefox,
still didnt work. Even the adobe flash plugin is "up to date".

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Flash objects not displaying in Firefox (but works fine in Chrome and IE)

Well, I'm trying to embed a Shockwave Flash object into a website I'm building. It displays in Chrome and IE, but it doesn't show up at all in Firefox. It's just white space. Ive tried it on two machines, so it's presumably the code. Both the machines have Adobe Flash enabled... I'm not sure what the problem is. I've not worked with embedding Flash objects in HTML before, so, it's probably something really obvious. I just used the insert command on dreamweaver and it wrote the code that I'm using. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. Here's my code:

If you can't post an address for a page demonstrating the problem, could you check the Web Console (Ctrl+Shift+k) and Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+j) for any messages related to the Flash media? For example, does either console show that Firefox is requesting the SWF file? Does either show an error in content type or any kind of security message?

Can you play videos installed locally of your computer?

Hulu wont play videos on firefox but work fine on IE; flashplayer on youtube worked after html5 switchover, same issue for hulu videos?

Recently updated both firefox (version 27) and flashplayer plugin (12) and I then started having problems trying to play videos on youtube or hulu. After messing about with troubleshooting, I got the youtube videos to finally play (apparently, had to change to HTML5 mode) but now I still can't play the hulu videos. Hulu works fine on IE (which I used to use before FF) although, that is the ActiveX version of flash player. I've tried most of the suggestions that are out there for this particle problem and none of them seem to work. What I have yet to try is fixing the mms.cfg file located at C:Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and that's only because my equal sign key isn't working.smdh. The file that was there initially couldn't be opened or was corrupted so I'm thinking this might be the game changer I'm looking for. Any other relevant suggestions would greatly be appreciated as well. Thank you

oh, there is still a pending issue with youtube unfortunately. I can play videos individually but if I click on a video that is part of a playlist it lags and then goes to a blank space where the video should be. Is that a flash player issue? So, I can play videos individually but not playlists.
Any word on that would be awesome

This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes. I have reinstalled several times but it hasn't changed this error message. Why am I able to burn a CD using Media Player but not iTunes? I am using Windows XP and I have burned cds from iTunes in the past.

Drop down menus on certain websites (ie ESPN) are no longer working on Firefox but work with both Chrome and IE on same computer so I believe its Firefox issue.

I tried updating Firefox to 19 and then even the Beta 20 version. I have rebooted computer countless times. On the same computer, I can open IE and bring up ESPN and the drop down menus work fine so I know its not a computer issue and it must have something to do Firefox. I tried the "starting in safe mode" and disabling add ons because I saw those suggestions but that didnt work. I also tried unchecking the box about hardware acceleration because I saw that suggested also and needless to say that didnt work either. Can someone please please help me, its very frustrating.

I tried to verify my plug-in's and all are enabled. I found where was suggested to remove and reinstall Firefox but that did not fix problem either. I tried to change viewer for videos but still no luck. Not certain why Quicktime doesn't work. Note, videos when browsing will not open but everything else works fine. Youtube has no page style in Firefox, but works on all other browsers.

Since yesterday I have not been able to use Youtube. Not only does the site itself have no page style, but Youtube videos embedded on other sites don't show up either. Youtube works fine on the other browsers I've tried (IE, Chrome, and Opera). I've already checked, I don't have page styles disabled for Youtube.

Until fairly recently, I had no trouble using Etsy in Firefox, but after the last update, I noticed that the site stopped working. Thank you all for your replies. Here is what i ended up doing. I cannot afford any 3rd party software so i went to itunes and manually entered all my playlists. As I had indicated my purchased music was on my new computer just not the playlists and I could not sync my ipod. After I rebuilt all my playlists I tried to restore my ipod to factory defaults/new. All of the steps called for in apple support and elsewhere were not available to me. I connected my ipod, went to my computer, right clicked my ipod, and formatted. That wiped my ipod so when I connected to itunes it then gave me a restore option. I did the restore and all is good in the empire again. I can now buy new music and sync my ipod so I am a happy camper.
