Videos playing when I just want to hear music

Is there any way to make iTunes not play videos when you are playing your library on shuffle? I even tried party shuffle, but still got a movie playing when I only want songs to play.
I've got 100 or more videos in iTunes now with podcasts, TV shows and home vids, so they come up a lot more frequently than you'd think. And definately more than I want, which is never.
If there isn't PLEASE Apple consider this a feature request.

You could activate the Search Bar (command-shift-B) and select the music 'button'. This will not exclude audio streams however.
Or create a new Smart Playlist (which I've done) to additionally exclude genres, artists or albums.
Here are my setting of such a playlist:
Match all of the following rules:
Podcast - is false
Kind - is not - mpeg audio stream
Kind - does not contain - movie
Genre - does not contain - audiobook
Genre - does not contain - comedy
Create additional rules if needed.

In your printers folder on your computer, is the default printer set to your printer, or your printer- fax?

I recently upgraded Itunes and now my library has the music from all computers on my account if I delete the songs they are gone I just want to hear songs from my library not my kids music

Flv "white flash" in between videos playing when button pressed.

I am currently working on a catalyst project whereby the buttons pressed play different sections of an animation. My problem is that the animation flashes white for a split second in between pressing the button and the video playing. Does anyonyone know how to eliminate this white flash? Would really appreciate any help,

Yes to follow up Ben, I'm experiencing the exact same problems as him. I changed browser to Firefox 3.0.11 a couple of months ago and hence downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox. I noticed the issue straight away in Youtube, but not on other sites. As I attributed the problem to Firefox, I then downloaded Opera 9.64 - but experienced the same problem. This led me to believe the issue was the Flash plugin, as both browsers are served by the same Adobe plugin for 'alternative browsers' to IE.
I then tried IE6 again in youtube and it didn't have the problem on standard view, however the problem was (and still is) occurring in full screen view. I'm nearly 100% sure this problem didn't occur before I downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox / Opera. Regardless of whether that is the issue, the problem was definitely not happening on my system in IE6 earlier this year.
As Ben said, my computer is fairly old but well managed and up to date. OS is Windows 2000 SP4, system is AMD Athlon 900 (slot A), 512 Mb RAM, 16Mb Voodoo 3 graphics, m/board MSI MS-6191.
I've also tried removing the Flash plugin for Firefox/Opera and for IE6 and reinstalling it but had no joy there either. I would try an updated version of IE too but IE6 is the last version compatible with Win 2k.

REALLY hate to bother you guys! I have been away from my home studio for a bit and have fallen out of the "loop" so to speak. I have a G5 dual 1.8 GHZ with 1.5 GB DDR Ram and I'm running Tiger 10.4.7
Ok so here's my issue: When I start to record an Audio instrument I have the click track to start a four click lead and I know I start on time, but the first note doesn't play out on play back. Now if the line I play is looped ... the first not plays on the re- up and then after. So I know the note has been captured. Why would this happen? I don't loop all the tracks I play so I'm a bit frustrated about that. So again... I choose an audio instrument. I hit record... wait for the count in and proceed to play on the one. I go back to the beginning of the track to listen back. And the first note played does not sound. Now I see it in notation and when I loop the part. When the loop comes back around the second time the first note sounds? HELP! I want to create music again, but not like this...

Yes, Logic captured it but will not playback a note that starts before 1.1.1.1
either slide the start position back to 0.1.1.1 or begin recording on 2.1.1.1.
Because it was captured, when you loop, the 2nd play of the loop is after 1.1.1.1 so sounds.

The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

My iPod touch plays no sound to videos but when I type I can hear the keyboard clicks. What do I do?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Yes I already have a vi that controls the stage.
So the camera is stationary above the stage. Now what I want to do is get the camera to take the pictures of the detector by moving the stage frame by frame for example starting from the top right corner of the detector (by taking an image) then ending on the top left corner of the detector (by taking an image) then having the stage move down a row and starting the process over again until each frame (or piece) has been imaged.
My goal is while the stage is moving to every little frame of the detector I would like for it to autofocus if necessary, and take a image to be for each frame of the detector.
Using the auto focus requires the moving of the stage up and down.

Problem with chapters playing when i dont want them to

OK let me explain what I have going here. I have 4 timelines for seperate videos in my project. Each has a motion button on the main menu that will play each one independantly and then return to the main menu and a "play it all" button the will play them in order. Ok all that works fine except for one thing. I want to video that shows in my thumbnails on the main menu to be a seperate video than what is actually in the feature DVD so after searching the forum I found a solution that is working. What I did was to take the video I wanted to use for the thumbnails and add that to the end of each timeline as a new chapter and then added a poster frame to control what showed in the thumbnail.
So to review.....each timeline had two chapters one that I want to show in the feature DVD and one that I do not.
By using the end actions oneach of the first videos in each timeline I can get the DVD to play from the beginning and skip the video I dont want seen. However, .....and here is the reason for my post FINALLY....when i use the chapter skip on the preview it of course skips to the video I dont want shown.....the last video on each timeline. So instead of having 4 chapters I now have 8....4 of each i would like to not be accessable at all.
Any way to to what I am wanting to do which essentially is tell Encore to skipthose chapters on the chapter skip button on the player??

Unfortunately not, if you are using that workaround. I can offer two suggestions:
1. Create your entire motion menu background (including the thumbnail animations) in Premiere or After Effects, then use that as a background video on your menu that is set up with buttons containing
only subpicture layers (no other layers, including thumbnail layers).
2. Keep your current workaround and add user operations to the timeline so that Next/Previous chapter navigation is prohibited.

I just installed and then uninstalled a Canon printer to my computer. Now, I cannot print. When I go to print, it takes me to a fax page. My 6600 is designated as the default printer. Please help.

I see by your post that the printer is set as the default printer, but when trying to print it defaults to the fax driver.
I can help you with this issue.
Clear out the print spool folder.
How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7.
From the application, go to file, print and select the printer in the print dialogue box to see if it will print.
Try opening the application, go to file, print, right click on the printer driver and select set as default.
Close the window and try again to see if the default printer changed back again.
If you are not actively using your Fax driver then remove it from your Devices and Printers folder.
The only other option would be to fully uninstall and reinstall the printer software. The printer driver might have become corrupted.
Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

Why do I end up with multiple sessions/instances when I just want a new tab to be opened?

Each time I click on a link in an email or in a browser page I am getting another instance of FF opening instead of opening a new tab in the same-single instance. I can have many, many instances opens all with the a single tab of each clicked through link. It's very confusing to find the pages I want with so many open instances.
How can I go back to have a click through just opening a new tab?

Embedded Vimeo videos play when published on desktop but won't show up online

I have a site that I updated recently … when I finished revising in iWeb and published it to my URL none of the embedded Vimeo videos show up. According to Vimeo customer support, and my web host, there is "no code or file" in the space where the video/html snippet should be. Tried rebuilding pages from scratch, still no video. Same process worked before and my site was functioning fine until I made this most recent update. Any reason why embed code would work prior to update, and not now? Why it finds the video when published to a folder on my desktop, but not when it's published to URL? Working with iWeb 3.0 and OS 10.9.4.

From your statements I guess that you put the files on the server yourself.
Make sure that you put ALL the files and folders on the server.
And why not provide a link to the page?

Whenever I close firefox and start it up again it stays in the same spot. It's nice when my computer has problems, but when I just want to start a new session it gets tedious. What do I do about this?

When I close my browser and open it up again it starts from the exact same place, which would be troublesome if i was doing online banking for example. If I close on a page it opens back up to the same page again.

Try changing your startup option to your home page or a blank tab here:
