Videos stop playing in Youtube after buffering a few seconds

Current Computer Specifications used:
OS:  Windows 7 Professional 64-bits
Service Pack:  1 (Latest)
RAM: 8 GB
Processor: Intel Dual Core
Flash Player version:  11.6.602.180
Web Browser:  Firefox 20.0
Your help is sincerely appreciated in advance to fix this issue.
Regards,

I have this same problem, and I did a clean installation.
Hardware:
2009 MacBoook Pro 17" 3.06 C2D; 4 GB RAM, 256 Apple SSD
While loading the browser is quick starting up, I notice a delay to open any website, like it's preloading the entire page versus just loading.  Safari seems like it's a bit sluggish overall with loading web pages.
Did a internet speed test and my U/D rates are the same after the upgrade.

I have made dozens of movies with this card. Suddenlly the camera automatically shuts down video recording after just a few seconds. I've made dozens of movies with this card. Reformatted card. Still happens.

Sounds like a bad memory card. Have you tried another card?

  • Youtube video stops playing after 11 seconds

Mac Pro / Mountain Lion 10.8.2 / Flash 11.4 - YouTube videos stop playing after 11 secs.  Only just started happening last week - around time when I installed latest Lion upgrade but this may be a red herring.  Tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling with no change.  Checked/emptied cache.

There are several topics with similar symptoms, but I don't think anybody has found an answer yet, as it only occurs on some few systems.
What I would try if I encountered the same problem:
    try disable Hardware Acceleration (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337)
try update the graphics drivers (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765)

  • Why do some YouTube videos stop playing after a short time?

Since sometime in October, 2013, I have noticed that more and more YouTube videos stop playing within a minute of starting. Most that stop do so in 15 or 16 seconds. The playing stops because the download stops. I watch this on a network activity monitor I always have running. Not all videos do this, but the problem is becoming more and more frequent. Some videos which played correctly for me in the recent past are now exhibiting this problem.
Other than installing the latest Firefox updates I have NOT changed the software on my machine. I run Linux by the way. I do not think this is a Linux problem because (1) it was all working before and (2) my son who runs both Mac OS X *and* Windows is also seeing the same problem. We both use Firefox as our browser on all our platforms.
I should also note that I am NOT seeing this problem with any of the other video websites I use, only when I go to YouTube. That leads me to believe that the problem is not in Firefox; if it were it should affect videos from all websites.
Additionally the problem occurs whether or not I log into YouTube.
I have not run Firefox in safe mode because all the extensions I use did not affect the download of Videos before, so I don't expect unchanged extensions to suddenly start causing problems.
So, anyone else see this problem? (There was another note which talked about the same problem but it was disabled.)
Also -- pardon my paranoia, but -- I need to ask: Since YouTube is owned by Google and Google has its own browser it wants you to use, Chrome, is it possible that Google is intentionally causing some YouTube videos to fail if it sees that they are being sent to Firefox?
(That is not so outlandish I think. Microsoft WAS at one point caught mangling web pages going to certain web browsers other than IE. And these days Google wants to dominate the Internet just as badly as Microsoft does, so why not pull dirty tricks too?)
If this keeps happening I am going to have to try Google's Chrome to see if it somehow manages to play YouTube videos correctly while Firefox does not. But I really do NOT want to install Chrome because I trust Google about as much as I trust Microsoft, which is to say Not At All.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
There have been some issues with Flash 11 in the recent past. This could be a manifestation of that issue. Kindly check this response below to see if this helps you in viewing Flash videos.
Also, if you want to check if this is a flash problem and specifically on youtube, you can try the HTML5 version of Youtube. In this, there are no plugins involved, and the browser natively renders the videos. You can signup for the HTML5 trial by visiting http://youtube.com/html5. Please try that and check if the issue goes away.
Also, in this case, Google might not be doing anything sinister - they generally try to be standards compliant too. You can definitely try installing Google Chrome and test this issue, but we definitely would want you to continue to be a Firefox user :)

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

    Also, try this one too
Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
    * [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]
    * [[Flash 11.3 crashes]]

  • YouTube Videos Stop Playing/Loading During Playback

Can anyone tell me how to fix my iPhone4? When viewing YouTube videos with the App over wifi, everything is good until after a random amount of playback, the download bar stops loading and the video stops playing. This happens on most videos.

I was about to post the same problem - many YouTube videos either won't start downloading to my iPhone 4 or download about 15% then stop.  Here's an example of a video that won't start downloading:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfdK6H9d6J0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I'm on a very fast cable internet link and ten feet from my Airport Extreme base station.  I'm on iOS 4.3.3.
This happens on WiFi or 3G links, everything else works fine.
Recall that the original iPhone ads touted the ability to download and watch YouTube materials.  Not so much anymore.

  • Youtube videos stop playing-appears not to be a browser problem

    Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting here, I've always managed to find a solution to my previous mac problems with a little bit of googling around, but not this time so I really hope someone can help me out here.
It's been going on for about 2 months now, certain videos stop playing about halfway, even if the loadbar was way ahead- it just jumps back on 0:00 along with the time counter, the gray spinning circle appears in the middle of the screen and basically you can't do anything other than refreshing the page. Sometimes, after repeating this for 3-4 times, it plays the whole thing, but the time counter will still frozen on 0:00.In the beginning it was only a few videos, now it's pretty much 7 out of 10 and it really is becoming frustrating. I tried resetting Safari, emptying caches and all that jazz, then I installed google chrome hoping it was just a browser thing, but the problem didn't go away. I tried playing the same videos on the family computer and they worked just fine....
Has anyone had the same problem/any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Thank you so much! It does fix the problem (which is even more confusing, cause as far as I know it's usually the other way round- people have trouble loading hd videos)  at this point I'll just take what I can get : D I'm just really curious why is this all happening....
    Thanks again!

  • YouTube videos stopped playing on V 37.0

Running 37.0 Firefox on Windows 7 - 64 bit. All updates updated. Flash is 17,0,0,134 and checks out at Adobe site.
This afternoon YouTube videos stopped playing. In the center of the frame are circling dots. The video appears to have loaded, as I can move the time slider and see frames at the various times, I just does not play, just gives the circling "loading" dots. YouTube runs fine in IE. In Foxfire, if I go to other sites, like news and videos/ads play just fine.
I disabled all add-ons, set Shockwave & Flash to "always activate" and still the YouTube videos will not play. Seem to download, just not play.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Please also consider an add on for a work around to change HTML5 to the default, however this should have been fixed in version 37.0.1 are you still seeing this issue?

  • Why is my ipad2 not buffering videos streaming from web as quickly as it can play them and keep making my videos stop playing?

When I try watching videos streaming from itunes or u tube or any streaming source the ipad2 does not buffer the videos as fast as they are being played. This makes the videos stop playing within a few seconds after they start and I have to continuously hit the play button to watch videos in bits and pieces. This makes the streaming of videos on this device virtually impossible.

You may be having some problem in your local network or your internet connection is not fast enough to properly stream the videos.
What type of internet connection are you using (cable, DSL, etc?)
What sort of local network do you have? router make/model, etc.
What other traffic is on your network?

  • TS1717 my music videos stop playing after 3 minutes

my music videos stop playing after 3 mins it happens to them all they worked fine before I upgraded to the new software

No there is no particular limit, especially one as short as 4 minutes in the Flash player or a Web page in general.
The video file may have been corrupted before or during upload to server.
Test the original video file on your local machine, does it play the entire length? is so, notice the file size.
Compare that size to the file size of the video on the server... if they are the same, you might want to re-upload anyway.
Your video file will also have a web address that specifies exactly where it is located on your server. Do a direct download and test the file to see if it is courrupt.
It will have an address something like this:
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/chris_test/tombstone/video1.flv
So download your file directly from the server and play on your local machine to see if it's longer than 4 min.
Could it be that your Web host only allows certain size files (no videos over 4 min for example)?
    Best wishes,
    Adninjastrator

  • The volume on my iPad 3 has gone. I've checked the mute button, tried restarting, resetting etc and nothing has changed. I can't hear the music, hear any sound from videos. Most times the video stops playing after a seconds. My iPad 3 is only 2 months ol.

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/contact/.
If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

  • Video stops playing after few seconds

I've uploaded a video to my website a few days ago. It was playing perfectly. Today, it plays for a couple of seconds, then it stops. I've tried it on 5 different browsers, and I get the exact result. So I'm guessing it might be the Flash player. I've searched this forum and found similar posts, but they're old (2007, 2008) and possibly obsolete. Any ideas?
System: Mac Pro, OSX 10.5.8, Flash Player 10.
Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE (stinks), Opera.

How would you explain the video stopping at the same exact spot (about 2 seconds) in five different browsers? The SWF file plays perfectly and completely on my desktop with Flash Player.
P.S. How do you spell your user name upside down?

  • Videos stop playing

I bought a new MacBook just a week ago. I noticed that some videos stop playing after a few seconds when I try to watch them while surfing the internet! For example: I wanted to watch some of the one to one tutorials but I couldn't because ALL the videos stop playing after a very short time as the download stops. I noticed that the same thing appens with lots of the videos from the Apple website. However it's not a problem of Internet connection as when I try to watch the same videos with my iPhone connected to the modem via WiFi (the same type of connection I use for my MacBook) everything goes well.
On the other hand, I have no problems watching YouTube videos.
Thanks in advance for helping me.

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751
    and here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672
An article on troubleshooting Permissions can be found here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963
By the way, you can ignore any messages about SUID or ACL file permissions, as explained here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US
If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.
