Videos Uploaded to Ipod - But No Image

Hi there,
Another classic question.
I have now managed to get my first video on my ipod, short video clip, and I hear the sound of the video perfectly, but there is no image of the video it wont play, it just shows the video title in the centre of the screen with a tv box icon in the corner.
On a similar topic, how do I get album artwork to show up aswell?

The reason why you iPod isent playing videos is because its on TV OUT MODE....to take it off of this go on your iPod > Settings > look for TV OUT > turn it off....do this and you iPod will display video...

Now you know why i ask,
windows or OSX,
It will only access OSX on a Apple Mac i suppose,
with the integration of iTunes.
Therefore save all that's on your iPod first if it important,
then Re-format iPod using disk utility,
up-plug iPod, then reconnect iPod
then it should come up in iTunes, asking bla, bla-bla,
Follow the instruction, from there all should be fine!

How do you keep videos on the ipod but off your hard drive?

When i tried to keep the videos off my hard drive but keep them on my ipod it deleted them off of my ipod also. is there any way i can just keep the videos on my ipod, but off my computers hard drive? thanks,

you could simply add your movies to your ipod by syncing them. Adn then afterwards remove them adn manually manage your music on your ipod syncing with new music you want to add. Or another way is to burn your movies to a disc adn then whenever you want movies on your ipod then you can iport the movies from the disc to your harddrive and then sync your ipod and then manually manage your itunes adn sync of new music.

Video upload to Ipod

Can you upload DVD video onto your computer and transfer that video to an Ipod? These are not copywrited DVDs but home videos.

Try using a different converter. Also, try uninstalling itunes and then reinstalling.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

i put videos on itunes just like songs, and convert them to be playable on my ipod. but when i watch them through the ipod, theres no audio. if i watch them through itunes on the computer there is audio. help!

If the videos are multiplexed MPEG files then the audio and the video are muxed onto the same track. QuickTime, and therefore any application that uses QT like iTunes, the iPod, iMovie (Mac app), etc. expect two separate tracks, one video and one audio. So when you convert these muxed files, the video is played and the audio is not heard.

So you need to do a conversion on the file first. MPEG Streamclip is a popular one that comes in both Mac and Windows versions and is known to "repair" this problem.
There are other applications that can do this as well. Try searching the iLounge.com web site for more conversion help. But your root cause is the muxed MPEG files.

Can't find my videos on the iPod - but there in iTunes??

The music videos & TV shows I've paid for show up fine where they are supposed to on my iPod. About 1/2 of my video podcasts are showing up (Tiki Bar, DigitalLife TV, Diggnation (what a waste of space). Others show up under "Video" in iTunes, but are either not copying over to my iPod or I can't find them (definitely not under Videos). Also - a home movie in .mov is not showing up, as well as a Tivo file I brought over and converted to MP4. I can't find any consistency in why some videos are not playing on the iPod but do in iTunes. Any ideas??

Did you get any message when syncing your iPod that some videos couldn't be copied over? The iPod can play a subset of the videos that iTunes & QuickTime can. Although there are other details, basically it amounts to a maximum resolution of 320x240 for h.264 codec videos & 480x480 for MPEG4 videos. If a different codec or a larger size was used in the video podcasts you are attempting to copy, they won't transfer.
Also, the iPod puts the videos into various categories that match those in iTunes. You might want to check the Video podcast section in both iTunes & the iPod to confirm they match.

HELP...video goes on ipod but wont work

Ok I posted this topic about a month ago too and i didnt get any help. I have the new Video Ipod and the videos i put on will load in my ipod but when i click to play them it goes to a black screen for about 30 seconds and then goes back to the menu page. PLEASE help. I have tried 2 different settings using videora and Im not sure if thats the problem. They play fine in itunes. Anyone know what to do?Ive been working on this for a month and getting very upset with it. Thanks!

Here are the specs of my videos that are on my iPod:
MPEG-4 Video / AAC audio
400 kbps (Video)
128 kbps (Audio)
320x240
I'm not sure if Handbrake is only for Mac, but see if you can set these settings in Videora (I don't know much about this program, being that i have a Mac.)

Video already on ipod, but won't play

Videos I put into my iPod only play sound. I know it's not a problem with the file, because I put the video into my iPod before, and worked fine. When I play the video, it does show up in the videos section, but the display on the screen looks like an audio file.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

The movies that Videora converts should go to its default folder location. Do you know this? Should be in setting somewhere. I don't use that software so you would need to find that out. Once you know this, use the guide I gave you. I thought the guide showed the default location though for Videora. You do know how to find files using thr drop down box?

Hey, I have two computers that I want to put music, pictures, and videos on to my iPod from, the "home computer" has no problems tranfering songs, videos and pix, but the second does. I selected Manual update of songs and play lists on second computer. I tried to put an episode of Lost on my iPod from the second computer, It says in iTunes that it is on my Ipod, but the Do Not Disconnect sign did not show up on iPod, and iTunes says it updated, I ejected it correctly and still didn't show up I just wasted two hours of my life searching the discussions and have not found anything close. PLEASE HELP ME
