Videos when converted have no audio

i have a ipod classic...just bought it...i have alot of videos in the quicktime format...when i convert for ipod it converts the file however there is no sound...i saw someone else had the same problem...has there been a solution???
help!!

Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (which iTunes uses) don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

DDownloaded kindle app on my ipad, then bought a photography book which included some video clips - i can watch the video clips but have no audio!!

You need to find out what type of video it is.  What your describing is what you get when a Video codec (software that allows you to "see" the video) is missing, damaged, or too old for the movie.
Once you identify what kind of movie it is, then you can update the codec.

  • No audio channels (only video) when converting/exporting media formats

    Hi,
Last year i bought a license for quicktime 7 but i still have problems when converting.
Als with the new iTunes7 the problem still relies.
When i am converting a mpeg file to the m4v in iTunes the problem is the same.
It doens't matter which media format i get, but after the conversion is done... there are no audio channels!
When u look at the movie info option in the quicktime menu, you can see an video channel, but no audio. the orginal files do get video and audio channels...
about 6 months ago i contacted apple support for this, but the problem still relies..
Does anybody know a fix or maybe Apple can investigate this important bug!! In the past i have used Videora iPod coverter that does the job correct and muchhh faster, but i want quicktime to do that!!!

Quicktime has never exported the sound from muxed mpeg-1 or -2 files: QT Mpeg Limitations
You can run a separate demuxer to get the audio stream out or just use this freeware that exports both video and audio from mpegs to other formats: Mpeg StreamClip

  • My 30 GB video ipod plays video but they have no audio

i have a 30 gb video ipod and the videos i put on it do not play audio i have used the mpeg4 streamclip and it still doesnt work please help me

You can use itunes convert mov and mpg to mpeg-4. One thing though, is that if you convert an mpg (mpeg-1 or mpeg-2) muxed (muxed means that the video and audio are put together on one single track) than you loose the video or sound when converting them to mpeg-4 from itunes. If your videos are muxed you must find another video converter on the web. You can find out if the original video that you are trying to convert for the ipod is muxed by opening the original video in quicktime and then click on the Window menu then click on Show Movie Info this will show you if the file is muxed.

  • How can I get my ipad Pages app to keep video when converting to epub file?

I am trying to create a epub file to be opened in  Ibook using Pages on the IPad. I have inserted a video and when I go to export to Ibooks it gives me a warning that video has been converted into an image.  I have created this same video on a desktop computer and been able to email and open it in IBook on my IPAD.
Is there a way to have video embedded on the IPAD Pages app to be able to be published as an epub and be able to be opened later.

I'm wondering about this also. Even when importing very small videos it converts into pictures... Hope someone can shed some light on this matter for us!

  • Inserting video clip and have both audios at once

Hi everyone, hopefully somone can help answer my question.  My friend has a video blog and the person who used to do all of his technical stuff is no longer with him, so he's trying to figure it all out, and I figured I'd try to help him.
In iMovie, does anyone know how to insert a video clip into the main video clip and have the inserted video being shown on the screen but the audio of both videos playing at the same time, with no break in continuity of the main video's audio?  Then, how to transition from the inserted video with both audios playing at the same time back to just the main video, again with no breaks in audio continuity?  I know it's possible on FinalCut Pro, because that is what his tech person used, but for some reason that program freezes my friend's computer, so he's stuck with iMovie for now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Thanks for your reply devbear11.  You ALMOST got what I was asking for.  I'm sorry if my wording is confusing, lol.  Everything you said is great, EXCEPT that  I want to KEEP the audio on the inserted video in ADDITION to the audio on the original clip.  So to break it down....
    - Main video clip is playing.
    - Segue into the inserted video clip.  Have the screen be showing the inserted video clip and have it be playing it's own audio, WITHOUT interrupting the audio of the original/main video.
    - Inserted video clip plays on the screen and you hear both the audio of the inserted video clip in addition to whatever my friend is saying on the main audio....To give you an example, my friend blogs about figure skating.  So he will be discussing a competition and the screen is showing him at his desk talking about the different skaters.  While he is discussing a certain skater, he may input a clip of their performance and you will see and hear them skating to their music, but still be able to hear him discussing it uninterrupted in the background.
    - Once the inserted clip ends, the video switches back to my friend at his desk, with his commentary uninterrupted.
    Am I making sense? lol

  • No Sound On Video When Converted

    Hey kids,
been trying for months to get my videos that i have downloaded to play on Ipod. now my flatmate has the same issue. really stressed out here with it...
    Any help??

    1. What iPod do you have?
    2. Which software do you use?
    3. It would be helpful to fill in your computer info in your profiles so that I could now if your running Mac OSX or Windows?
    4. Have you converted to the right resolution?

  • No video when converting M4V to FLV

    Hi,
I ripped a DVD with Handbreak by using their HighProfile. The output produced was an 11 minute m4v video encoded with x264. I tested this video, and it works just fine. Now when I try to convert it with AME 4.2 I tried the following presets:
F4V same as source (Flash 9.0.r115 and Higher)
F4V Web Large, Widescreen Source (Flash 9.0.r115 and Higher)
F4V Web Medium, Widescreen Source (Flash 9.0.r115 and Higher)
Every single test resulted in a black screen with no audio for 164 minutes.
Now this computer has a Adobe Web Premium CS4, but it also has some sort of AME 5.5 trial.
I wouldn't expect them to conflict with each other, but I don't know.
    Any Ideas?
    Thank you,

Instead of ripping to such a highly compressed format, and then further compressing it again, try this:

  • IPad shows "No Data" for Videos when I have movies stored.

    Short version:
I've had lots of issues with downloading movies to my iPad from iTunes.  When it works, the "videos" section under Settings > General > Usage shows "No data" as if it's not reading the storage.  I'll have 6 movies but it shows nothing stored on the iPad.
    Detailed version:
I'm on my 3rd or 4th try of "Erase all settings and content" without using an iCloud back up.  My 3rd gen iPad will work fine for a month or more after that then start having tons of problems with downloading movies and performace.  I'll set a movie to download from iTunes, go do something else and my iPad will become so slow its unusable.  The downloads will fail but not alert me, they just restart and loop repeatedly.  As of now it's working fine but my third party warranty is running out and I need to decide if somethings really wrong with it or is this an issue with iOS 7.  I've taken it to the genius bar, the guy suggested I plug it into iTunes, download a fresh OS and start over again.  Since then, its been largely fine.  Only one movie failed and tried again then worked.  The performance has been fine but I've been burned by this before...its fine for a while then goes to complete crap.  I've also had the WIFI showing as connected but will not recieve any data until I simply restart and its fine.  This has happened every time I've reset so its not isolated to one glitchy install.
I've asked for help before but no one has ever replied, if someone can give me a suggestion whether to tough it out or make a claim and pay $50 for a refurbished iPad that would be very helpful.  If you need more details just ask, I've done all I can think of.

Bump - Can someone please help?

  • Adobe Premiere - blurred video when convertering from MOV to AVI

    Hey!
When I exporting my video I made with my iphone (.MOV) to .AVI then the videos quality gets worse that it should be.
What does that depends on and what can I do to fix it?

What does that depends on and what can I do to fix it?
The phone. Don't use the phone to change the wrapper. Use a converter or better yet, use a video camera. Use a phone to make calls.

  • Is there a way for me to remove the video and just have the audio?

I needed to record a conversation and I wasn't really thinking at the time and just used iMovie to record. I only need the audio. Is there a way to remove the video and have it made into just an audio file?

Create a project using your conversation. Then Share it using Share/Export Using QuickTIme. Select an audio only format like AIFF, AAC, or MP3.

  • IPhone video, when converted is upside down?

Hi - I can't find too much on this.... When I record video on my iphone and import to Aperture it plays fine. When I convert the .mov file to mp4 via various convertors, the video always plays updide down??!!
    Anyone?
    TIA

You need to address that question to the developers of the converting software you use.

  • When I have two audio clips next to eachother, how do i 'dissolve' them so its a smooth transition from one to the next?

I have a few clips besides eachother.. levels are up and down, but i want to do an 'audio dissolve' per se, or fade from one audio clip into the other.. to make it smooth..  how do i do this? thanks

One might think that you could simply drop a transition effect on to two connected audio clips to fade from one to the next. In fact, that's what the menu seems to imply:
But you can not. No transition effects can be attached to Connected Clips. The menu lies!
There are however several ways to do accomplish the transition.
You can overlap them and drag the fade gadgets like this:
Another way is to transform the audio clips to a secondary Storyline (command-g). This will allow you to use transitions.

  • Strobelike Video when converted from 1080i - 720x480

I've been running into this problem quite a bit... my opening segment which was made on Adobe After Effects is having a strobe-like interlaced look during periods of quick movement.
I was instructed that the issue would be resolved by overlaying the 1080i Timeline onto a Standard Def Timeline ... but that didn't seem to fix the issue (when viewed on a television).
Can anyone explain the technicalities of why this issue periodically comes up? I know that a good part of the problem is that I am on FCP 5.1.4. However, I know it can be manually fixed if I can get some insight into what causes this problem.

Sounds like a field order problem.
Try reversing them (if set to upper - try lower ... or vice versa).
