Videos will not open or place (DynamicLink error)

I'm running into a problem where any videos that I try to insert (place from Bridge) or open (from photoshop dialog) reproduce the following error:
Could not place the document ‘<insert video name>’ because DynamicLink is not available.
Anyone have any ideas how to reactivate DynamicLink?

Without system information and details about your videos, storage location etc. nobody really can say much. The standard answer would be to reinstall, but that still may not do you any good if access to the DL components is blocked e.g. by your virus scanner or something is not to PS's taste with your files...

I'm on osx 10.7.2 and once I click the soundtrack pro icon I get an error message. I had problems with logic pro & my digi002r soundcard midi drivers but now is fixed (using a midi adapter).

In OSX 10.8.2 with Safari 6.0.2. Many videos will not open in Safari

I am running OSX 10.8.2 with Safari 6.0.2. Many videos will not open on Safari but open on Chrome. I have enabled javascript in Safari Preferences. I get a javascript void message when copying the link of the non-working videos. In one discussion about javascript problems in Mountain Lion a Java Preferences Ap in Utilities was used to fix the problem. I do not have a Java Preferences Ap in Applications\Utilities. I am stuck.

I am having a similar issue, except mine is with a military site. The military sites use java althroughout for downloading files/image. The problem is that it never gives me the notice to enable java for these sites.
I would like to have the ability to manually tell safari to allow java on a particular site so this isn't an issue.
This would solve my issue and allow a way to activate java on sites that don't give you the option to allow it.

I have tried a hard restart as well as a restore and still my iPod and my Videos will not open, along with a few other apps. Everything else seems to be fine, I am writing this on the iPad and it can still connect to iTunes as well as the app store! I really hope someone can help...

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! Mac will not open iCloud "Documents" - No Errors

Over the past few days, I have noticed that my iCloud documents will not open on my Mac.
I am able to edit them on my iOS devices. (via Numbers, Pages, Keynote for example)
I am able to Save new documents to my "iCloud"
I am NOT able to open the new documents from my iCloud
I am able to edit the new documents on my iOS devices
I am able to save new documents to my local machine
I am able to open the new documents from my locla machine
I have not made any preference changes to the system. The only way I am eventually able to OPEN iCloud documents, is by completely restarting the system. Then it works, at least for the first few times I have tried.
Any thoughts as to how to root cause?

I am not sure why this works, but it worked for me.
The behavior I am experiencing happens when I open Numbers for the first time, I am prompted with the open dialog box. If I attempt to open a file from my icloud in that dialog, I am unable to open any document, i.e. this is the behavior I am experiencing.
I opened a file from my local machine
Left the file open from my local machine
I then used File- > Open and chose a a file from iCloud
The iCloud document opened successfully.

Check the .net framework installed on the machine and update it, if required

I am suddenly get DEP errors which will not allow Itunes to open at all. I have deleted and reinstalled itunes with no luck. I tried to remove Itunes form the DEP list and the error says itunes cannot be removed from the DEP list. I am running Vista and need help to get around this problem. Thanks.

Try updating your QuickTime Player to the latest version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

yea, that has happenend to me as well.
Well this is what has happenend to me anyway.
I will go to the apple site and enter the discussions forum, and the blue bar in the url box will jsut hang for minutes sometimes. THen the page will finally open as well as the blue bar will show up all the way.
But then i will click on say , the safari forum, and the blue bar will open just alittle, though the page will not, and ill wait anoither 2 minue and it finally open.
is this what they call, "hung up", or "hanging?"
but mine doesnt time out, i get no error message. Just th spinning ball , and sometimes no spinning ball.

My 2008 videos imported and previousely played in iPhoto will not play. A window drops down saying "A necessary data reference could not be found." Any answers??

When you installed Snow Leopard you did not install Quicktime Player 7 which is needed to play the videos. Put in the SL install disk and select a custom installation. There you will be able to select Quicktime Player 7 to install. It will be placed in your Applications/Utilities folder. Then you will be able to play those video files from iPhoto 09.
