Videos will not play, even after updating multiple extensions

So, I've had this problem for a couple of days. I believe it has to do with the most recent up date to flash as I did not have this problem before and unfortunately I do not know how to undo what's been done. The video remains black, seemingly no matter what I do.
Here's what I've done so far:
Updated the flash player plugin
Updated Realplayer
Tried safemode, turning off add-ons
Turn on and off extensions
Deleting firefox, and all of it's data, and then reinstalling
I also troubleshooted compatibility and am running firefox on Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
So I don't know what to do any more, also, when ever I'm on the tab with the video the little loading icon next to my mouse cursor pops up and blinks rapidly, like it's desperately trying to load the video and just can't seem to find it or something.

I bought a movie on itunes, it would not play. I contacted apple support people, and they told me to delete and re download it, I did that and it still will not play, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if my itunes isn't up to date, or maybe it's because I'm not trying to play it on an apple device. Whatever the case me be, I just really want to watch this movie, or get a refund.

You should be able to play films on windows computers, if it wasn't compatible with it (e.g. you should have got an error if you tried to buy an HD film on non-HD compatible computer).
The current version of iTunes is 11.4 - you can see if there are any updates available via the Help > Check For Updates menu option.

What happens when you try to play the film, and do other videos that you have in your iTunes play ok ?

Some Songs Will Not Play Even After Being Authorized

Just this past weekend, I had to reinstall Tiger and then upgrade to Leopard due to a “kernel panic” that would not go away no matter what was tried. As such, iTunes was started from scratch. Unfortunately, I could not locate my iTunes library within the Previous System folder after this reinstall. In all honesty, I probably just didn’t know where to look.
So, I transferred my music from my iPod to my iMac. But, some of my songs will no longer play. The songs that will not play are songs that I purchased and downloaded from iTunes. However, the recent songs purchased and downloaded will play…it’s songs that were purchased and downloaded a few months ago. Strange.
When I click these songs a box pops up for me to authorize it. I do so and it says that this computer is already authorized. I click on the song again and the same thing repeats itself.
I have two accounts that I have used. I have both accounts authorized on this computer. I have restarted with no success. I have unauthorized and reauthorized with no success. I’m afraid to sync my iPod in case these same characteristics transfer to my iPod.
I have not updated Leopard to the latest version as of yet since I just reinstalled from the disc orginally sent with my iMac. Any help is greatly appreciated as I’m out of ideas…

I had the exact same problem today. Two days ago I let Software Update auto-install Security Update 2008-008 (Client Intel) on my machine. I was rewarded with the gray screen and spinning wheel that never went away, and after hours of fruitless attempts to resolve the problem with Disk Utility and Terminal, I was forced to Archive and Restore to 10.4.8 and then rebuild my system back to 10.4.11.
I thought everything was fine after that until I went to play my iTunes music tonight. Though I'd had no problem playing music ripped from CDs, anything that I'd bought from the iTunes store wouldn't play -- it gave me the exact same error that you reported. I've followed all of Apple's troubleshooting steps -- repairing disk permissions, deleting the SC Info folder, etc., and nothing worked. I spent nearly an hour online with iTunes Chat Support and they say that my account tests fine on their end, so it's not iTunes -- something must have happened to my machine.
Personally, I think it was Security Update 2008-008. It's been nothing but trouble.
Now I have to pay $50 for a phone call to Apple Tech Support. Lucky me.

Spoken work files will not play even after importing/converting?

I have some audio files recorded on my Android phone with the basic recording app and the files play when I press the spacebar to preview them in Mavericks. However, after importing them into iTunes using various import settings, including the podcast spoken word ones, they just will not play. When I double click on the file it looks like it is about to play, the apple icon at the top switches to what looks like a progress bar, though it is different from other tracks that do play, and then it immediately switches back to the apple icon and does not play.
Any ideas of anything I can do?

Firefox will not open even after update or in safe mode using windows button + R

Tried solitions given on site using IE. Firefox will not start at all, did latest update and tried safe mode start.
Only get box stating it has encounterd a problem and crashed. I only use firefox and have so many bookmarks I really don't want to uninstall and start over.

My Ipod will not unlock even after updating the software

Hi, I have an iPod Nano 4G, is locked to the Apple logo and iTunes will only recognize it when I go into hard disk mode.
and update your iPod with iTunes via the internet and everything was done in order but the iPod still has the apple logo screen
and check the test team that brings the same (Disco OK, OK Display, Touch control ok)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash player multiple times to no avail. Youtube still insists I do not have a current version.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. I noticed after switching from IE9 to Firefox that some website videos will not play. How is this corrected?

I sometimes want to look at how-to videos. Some play and some do not in Firefox. When a message does come up on the screen it says someting like 'sorry, but the video will not play...do you wish to download the plugin?'. Because I am very catious about what I download, I am not confident about downloading a plugin. Does anyone know what I need for Firefox to play all website videos?

Video will not play, yet audio does.

Like the header says, all of a sudden I go to work on a project I've never had trouble with and the video will not play; it is frozen wherever the cursor is. Yet the audio does play. I've tried clearing cache, clearing premiere cache, gone all over the internet to try and find an answer, of course India is closed right now, so no help there, not that they really give it anyway. So I'm asking if anyone might have experienced this one and figured it out despite Adobe. I'm on a PC with Windows 8 and terabytes and terabytes of storage; plenty of space left on disc, too. As I said; this has never been even a hint of a problem Just started up today. This even beats most Adobe "beta testing" problems they heap on us unsuspecting sheep. So I'm completely flummoxed. A prize to whoever knows what's up with this! It's a new one on me... Thanks in advance to whichever genius knows the answer! :-)

OK, I found the answer by myself and wish to share it with those having the same issue. It turns out that the saved workspace can corrupt allowing audio to play, while video remains frozen. The fix is to change the workspace. Go to WINDOW, after creating a new style workspace and save the new workspace. Problem fixed. Also, if there are already a number of other saved workspaces that involve video you can simply change to that one and it will be fixed. Delete the corrupt workspace. That's it! This was discovered through a simple process of elimination which proves that bugs really can surface anywhere for no intuitive reason. Hope this helps you!

Certain website's videos will not play, MLB and Jay Leno's garage. Why?

Not sure when this started to happen - perhaps the last update but now the Baseball website and the Jay Leno's garage website's video will not play. They appear to go to sleep while loading. (The little circle goes round and round but never stops.) Other sites seem to work fine.

Social App not working even after update from noki...

nokia n8 social loading feeds.
My wife and i have the same problem now, only last week she said my phone will not work on facebook the widget on main home screen will not load feeds at all, and the widget is now blank saying refresh all the time, so i linked the phone up to the computer and did a scan for new updates with nokia updater which you can download from nokia site.
Its now the 4th jan and the phones still will not work even after and update from a socail app,
nothing , facebook will load after a few pushes, and looks like its loading till it says loading feeds then it says the (wording unable to load news feeds)

Uninstall the social app and reboot your phone. Then go to software updates and reinstall from the offering given in the updates. I've uninstalled and reinstalled social twice and it has worked both times.

Some videos will not play (blank screen).

Some of my videos will not play. I select the video and a "Play" arrow shows in the upper left portion of the screen, but the screen is dark (blank). I can press Menu and return.
I don't believe it's a size issue because certain other larger videos do play. Nor do I think it's a format issue because all of the videos are the same format (*.m4v). It also doesn't appear to be a time/sync issue because some videos added after others do play and some don't.
I really don't have a problem reformatting and starting over if that is the best or only solution as I only use iTunes and don't have calendar, notes, etc.

Where are these from? Are they from the iTunes Store or where they downloaded elsewhere and then added to your library? Perhaps you can try restoring your iPod to factory settings and then resyncing the videos back over to it.
If the videos are not from iTunes, perhaps you can try and re-convert them using a third party utility such as Handbrake or MPEG Streamclip.

ITunes videos will not play

Ever since I've updated to the newer iTunes version, my videos will not play correctly. Any video I bought on iTunes will not work. Also any video previews or trailers from iTunes will not work. Any other video from online or ones that I've recorded work normally. When I try to play a video, this is what it looks like:
The picture does not show, but the audio plays perfectly. Quicktime and every other software is updated. I've tried to find the answer on the forums but couldn't find one similar to my problem. Also, I cannot contact any apple support by phone because I'm currently living in China and this or e-mail is the most conveinent.
